https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Amir-MSSNLagos-Saheed-Ashafa-1.jpg The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Lagos State Area Unit, on Wednesday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to without wasting much time, reject British Prime Minister, Theresa May’s advice on same-sex marriage. MSSN Lagos Amir (President), Dr. Saheed Ashafa in a statement marking the 64th year of establishing MSSN in Nigeria, a copy which was made available to DAILY POST, insisted that “such a suggestion would increase immorality and crimes in the country”. He urged President Buhari to consider May’s suggestion on same-sex marriage as “a mere freedom of expression”. DAILY POST recalls that May had at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting holding in the British capital urged Nigeria and other countries to revoke laws banning same-sex marriage. But, Ashafa cautioned that Nigeria should not be lured by her promise that the United Kingdom will support any country that legalises same-sex marriage. He explained that such would increase immorality and crimes in the country. Ashafa while speaking also frowned at the silence of the presidency on the matter, adding that “the president’s silence is worrisome”. He appealed to President Buhari to continuously reiterate the position of Nigeria at all fora where such was discussed. He also cautioned that Nigeria should not be lured by PM May’s promise that the United Kingdom’s will support any country that legalises same-sex marriage. Ashafa said, “Theresa May’s call for support of same-sex marriage is a mere wish and also an exercise of one’s freedom of expression. “To us, it has no effect. We know the position of Nigeria on same-sex, it remains an abomination and there is no doubt about it. It must not change. It is one of the factors helping to reduce crimes in Nigeria. “Theresa and others with similar desire only need to remember that we are an independent nation with our own autonomy; our freedom of thought remains sacrosanct. The same-sex marriage ideology is a practice that should never happen in Nigeria. “Here in Nigeria, our constitution recognises multiplicity of religion and God as the supreme being, and as such His forbiddens are consciously avoided. Same-sex marriage is unlawful, and it is so held. It is an abomination and a call to it is a call to destruction.” SOURCE https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/04/18/reject-theresa-mays-speech-on-same-sex-marriage-mssn-tells-buhari/ |
STRONG indication emerged on Wednesday that the authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife have suspended Professor Richard Akindele, who was allegedly involved in s3x-for-marks scandal. It is recalled that a recorded audio conversation of the don, demanding for five rounds to increase the grade or marks of a female undergraduate had gone viral, generating varied reactions from the cross-section of the public. However, a credible source in the university informed the Nigerian Tribune that investigative panel constituted to investigate the allegation by the management of OAU had submitted its report on Tuesday. The source hinted that a prima facie was established by the panel against the don and the recommendation of his suspension had been implemented by the university management. But, efforts to get the confirmation of suspension order proved abortive as calls put through to the mobile phone of the OAU Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Abiodun Olarewaju rang out without a response, while text message forwarded to him was not replied source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/04/18/sex-for-marks-scandal-oau-suspends-embattled-professor/ cc lalasticlala

https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Festus-Keyamo.jpg Activist lawyer, Festus Keyamo, has disclosed the reasons behind accepting his recent appointment as the Director, Strategic Communications of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 Campaign Organisation. He gave the reasons in a statement personally signed by him and issued to the Daily Post. Recall that NIGERIA NEWS reported that the senior advocate was on Wednesday named the spokesperson of Buhari’s re-election campaign. Justifying his acceptance of the appointment, Keyamo stated that he found an “approximation of the lofty values I cherish and have fought for all my life” in Buhari. In a statement he personally signed and sent to DAILY POST on Wednesday, the lawyer stated that he agreed to support Buhari’s re-election because the president has “clearly chosen this path in protecting the masses of our country”. The statement reads, “Just yesterday, my appointment as the Director, Strategic Communications of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation was made public. In that capacity, I would be the Official Spokesperson of the President’s campaigns for the 2019 Presidential Election.” “Let me put it on record that I was indeed consulted before the announcement. Upon the offer, I wholeheartedly and proudly accepted the challenge to do this for the good of my country and for posterity. For in President Buhari I have found an approximation of the lofty values I cherish and have fought for all my life.” “I know millions of Nigerians have never seen me in the mould of partisan politics. This is because for the past two and half decades, I have been under intense public scrutiny while engaging successive governments (military and civilian) in the most critical way possible.” “The public has also watched me grow steadily all the way from that young, restless lawyer to the exalted position of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). “In the process of my restless and relentless engagements of the authorities, I have been hounded, arrested, detained, paraded like a criminal, charged and discharged from courts severally, but remain unbowed. Hence, some of us have been branded as “radicals” and seen as completely apolitical.” “However, the ultimate aim of every struggle is not really to enthrone a perfect, flawless system. Only the starry-eyed, younger ones think such is possible.” “That is Utopia. Rather, the ultimate aim of the struggle is to enthrone a government (yes, even with the normal human flaws) that is focused, determined and fiercely opposed to the unscrupulous wheeler-dealers in the society, committed to protecting the interests of the downtrodden, the weak and vulnerable.” “One of the obvious ways to do this is to ensure that what belongs to all is not cornered by a few; and if they do so, to ensure that they are made to account and brought to justice. I can boldly say that no Government in the history of Nigeria has recovered so much looted funds as that of President Muhammadu Buhari.” “The fact that this Government has clearly chosen this path in protecting the masses of our country (as unpleasant as it has been to some) is one of the many reasons why I am so proud and bold about my support for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.” “In doing this, I take a cue from my revered late boss, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, (SAN) who mentored me. Throughout his career, he also consistently and fiercely engaged every government in Nigeria and suffered as a result. Guess what? THE ONLY GOVERNMENT HE FULLY SUPPORTED THROUGHOUT HIS LIFETIME was that led by General Muhammdu Buhari in 1984 – 1985; and that was to the chagrin of some of his professional colleagues and fellow “radicals”. “However, he saw what they did not see at that time, because when that government was overthrown by General Babangida, what followed was the worst era in our history in terms of institutionalizing corruption and political chicanery in Nigeria.” “In the 2007 Presidential election, my late boss again endorsed General Buhari in the following words: “When we talk of anti-corruption war, there is no way you will exclude General Buhari. I don’t want to hear what a political party is going to do, whether ANPP or PDP or NDP or which other political organization. Tell me who is leading the party, tell me who is leading the government, that’s my concern. It’s a matter of leadership. This is a serious election, very serious one”. “Some of those same forces and interests that saw the back of General Buhari in 1985 are still very much around with us. You can hear their voices getting louder of late, preaching hate and toiling hard to incite the people against the President. They want us to go back to our old ways, disguised as if they genuinely care for the masses of this country.” “When you look at the profile and ignoble antecedents of these characters – the emergency heroes, some of us have no option but to undertake this role we have been called upon to assume just to ensure that they do not succeed in their selfish enterprise. “For all I have said above, my convictions about this job are deep and well thought-out. Given my background, it is clear that I cannot be a sycophantic rabble-rouser, looking for some personal gains. Having reached the top echelon of my career, some of us can conveniently stay away from all these, and continue to earn a good living from our thriving law practice.” “However, the call of duty beckons because we are at a critical crossroads in our history where one wrong turn may take us back to the sorry state from which we are emerging. We are here to convince and appeal to the masses not to allow us take that wrong turn.” “Now, it is important I elaborate a bit on this “sorry state” from which we are coming. Some people always attempt to befuddle the issues by continually reminding us of certain statistics that existed before 2015 and after 2015. However, our situation before 2015 is comparable to that of a car on a high speed, seemingly doing well on the road, but with the temperature gauge already rising. That car is in trouble.” “But to the uninformed, the car would be seen as doing well. However, the callous driver, fully aware of the rising temperature in the engine, continues to speed on. After some time, it is inevitable that the engine of the car would overheat and crash.” “In that state, the callous driver hands over the car to the new driver. The new driver, seeing the condition of the vehicle, decides to fix the radiator first which is responsible for the overheating in order to protect the engine, before setting out on the road again.” “Yet, the callous driver mischievously calls everyone to come and see how the new driver has parked the car to fix the engine before setting out once again. The callous driver tells everyone that the new driver is clueless; that that is why the car was parked briefly.” “The above anecdote is a graphic reflection of the situation we find ourselves. With the crash in oil prices just before 2015, the previous government resorted to borrowing to pay salaries and recklessly drew down on our foreign reserves, just to give the impression that all was well.” “So much unearned money was also circulating in the country amongst a few, giving the false impression that we were in a buoyant economy. However, the economy was headed for a crash. All the indices show that the slip into recession started shortly before this government took over, like the car which engine was already over-heating.” “The attempt by a few to deceive the people that all was well with us before this government took over, is one of the reasons some of us have decided to come out of our shells to put a hole in that false narrative. It is simply a big lie. I am persuaded that the Buhari Government took the right measures to halt a bigger disaster awaiting our economy had it been otherwise.” “Those who are persuaded otherwise are within their legitimate right to do so. We are all patriots, trying to find the right answers to our problems as a nation. However, if you are persuaded otherwise, kindly state in details what exactly should have been done to run the economy better, given the crash in oil prices and production that dropped to around 700,000 barrels per day. Surely, discerning Nigerians would no longer buy the fable of “Buhari destroyed our economy”. “If I voted Buhari in 2015 and I am to vote for him again in 2019, then why can’t I campaign vigorously for him? I see no reason. It is a fallacy to say you are neutral in politics, yet you step forward to cast your vote at elections.” “If you are persuaded enough to vote for a candidate of your choice, then you must also be persuaded enough to campaign for that candidate because your vote would be lost if you do not convince others to also adopt your position.” “That is why I have made my choice for 2019 and I will publicly stand by it. That choice is President Muhammadu Buhari. For those who are persuaded otherwise, I challenge them to also name their choices because you cannot criticise my choice of a candidate without naming your own choice.” “After all, the President would not be running against ghosts or against a vacuum. Therefore, this is not a time to hide behind a blanket criticism of any candidate. Each candidate should be assessed in comparative terms with other candidates.” “There has also been much attempt to de-market the President using his age and health as pummeling tools, and as such raising the decibel in the clarion call for a young or younger President.” “Firstly, on the issues of age and health, it would be ungodly and outrageous for a mere mortal to assume the status of God Almighty to speculate on the longevity or strength of any human being. Even doctors have been proven wrong on so many occasions.” “It is a matter entirely in the hands of God. Our past Presidents that died in office (Abacha and Yar’Adua) were in their prime. In fact, Abacha did not even show any sign of a failing health before he slumped and died.” “In Zimbabwe, the main opposition candidate for years, Morgan Tsvangirai used the issue of age and health to campaign against President Mugabe, urging him to go and retire and rest. Yet, just a few weeks ago, Morgan Tsvangirai died at the age of 65 and Mugabe is still alive and kicking at the age of 94. Those are the mysterious ways of God Almighty. No human being should even use that as a campaign gimmick. That person would be courting the wrath of God Almighty.” “In addition, no one can argue that age has anything to do with the required integrity to be the President of a country. I also firmly believe that our value systems in politics and the society have been so damaged pre-2015, that a firm and experienced hand is needed to reset our collective psyche before we can set sail again.” “The notion that public office is just available to share money which was the norm pre-2015 is gradually being changed. Spending a few more years to sustain that kind of re-orientation will do us a world of good.” “President Buhari is one of the very last of the upright Mohicans in Nigeria available to help reclaim public integrity before he takes his bow in 2023, if the Nigerian people so wish. We must take advantage of his still being around to deepen the nation’s moral fabric.” “The choices before us have never been so CLEAR in the history of our country. On the one hand are those who are already in the mud and seeking to drag others into the mud. These are the ones who keep saying “We are all corrupt together”, and who keep confessing and apologising like people coming out of a trance.” “They say they should be forgiven because they have been “honest” enough to confess and apologise. Fellow Nigerians, there is nothing like an honest thief. It is a disgusting oxymoron. A thief is a thief. This is especially so if the thief did not willingly come out to admit he was a thief until his hands were caught right inside the cookie jar.” “The other choice before us is a President who has been accused of everything that is false but even his most ardent critics, and detractors locally and internationally have not accused him of having a penchant for wealth accumulation. I am persuaded to campaign for him by his austere lifestyle, his Spartan taste and frugal nature. I am not looking for a god or an angel to vote for.” “They are not around here on earth. I am only looking for someone with these minimum personal qualities I have enumerated above. The President’s other human flaws may be there, but I am waiting for the candidates of our opponents to show me their credentials from heaven.” “People can easily point to those with questionable past in the ruling party, the APC. With my antecedents and in my true conscience, I cannot defend them and cannot make excuses for them. However, in joining the President’s party, they are subjecting themselves to the disciplined leadership of the President.” “Like Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN said above, it is the leadership that matters. Like I always ask: should we all stop going to church because some known sinners also throng to churches every Sunday? The obvious answer is in the negative.” “On the other hand, the other party whose key leaders were all part of those who pilfered our commonwealth are about to present us with one amongst themselves as a Presidential candidate in 2019. Of course, reasonable Nigerians are waiting to dismiss that before it happens.” “However, for some of my friends, colleagues and associates who are still persuaded by the other way of running our country, and who belong to different political platforms, all I can do is to wish them well, but also state that this is a time for us to agree to disagree. It is all for the good of our country. It will bring out the best in us in canvassing our persuasions.” “However, I will be putting my heart and soul to this assignment and if anyone is offended by my commitment to the cause, I offer no apology. You can also do likewise to advance your cause. Nigerians would decide at the end of the day.” “My message to all those teeming supporters who did it in 2015 for our President is that you do not abandon a ship with which you set sail midway. Our race is not a 100-meter dash. It is a marathon race to rescue our country. We are almost there. When we turn the corner in 2019, you will see the tape at the finishing line.” “We must not run out of breaths. We believed in 2015. We must keep that belief alive. The hallmark of true supporters is to stand firm in times of storm and in times of calm. The storm is almost over. The President has battled to take control of the steering wheel of the nation and we are on course.” “Do not let the naysayers bully you whether in real life or in cyberspaces. When they run out of arguments, they resort to abuses. If they abuse you, see them as patriots, but misguided ones; if they attack you, see them as patriots, but misguided ones; if they call you unprintable names, see them as passionate patriots, but misguided ones.” “Do not retaliate. With time, especially when majority of votes wipe out their minority opinions in 2019, they will come round to you and acknowledge your vision. So, hold your own and keep your heads up.” “For us, this race is never a do-or-die affair. We shall present the facts as we see them and let Nigerians decide. We do not have to hire Cambridge Analytica to scare the electorate.” “They are already sufficiently scared by the humongous corruption that took place under the watch of the last government; the electorate are already sufficiently scared by those who are apologizing just to sneak their way back to power; the electorate are also sufficiently scared by the tons of cash buried in graveyards, farmhouses, luxury flats in Ikoyi, in Yachts in the High Seas and those used to buy real estate strewn all over the world.” “Nigerians know from where their problems came. They know it is not President Buhari. They know it came from some of those battling tooth and nail to displace him. Those who are persuaded by us should not remain aloof, please. Kindly join us in this journey.” source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/04/18/keyamo-speaks-on-accepting-buharis-appointment/ |

https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/SKC-Ogbonnia.jpg All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain and presidential aspirant, Dr. SKC Ogbonnia, has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to a debate. He said this in reaction to the president’s declaration to contest in 2019. Ogbonnia noted that a debate would deepen internal democracy within the All Progressive Alliance (APC) towards effective leadership in Nigeria. “To that end, I am looking forward to a robust debate with the president on our respective visions to lead the country”, he said in a statement on Wednesday. “Any meaningful debate will crave for an answer on whether Nigeria wants to move backward or forward. “The world will like to know whether Nigeria has the wisdom to emulate progressive nations and commit her future to a new generation of leaders, including the youth, who have the zeal and the competencies to cope with the demands of the 21st century or whether the country must rely on recycled politicians who have been part and parcel of national problems. “The suffering masses are eager to know whether the region or religion of the next president is more important than electing a detribalized leader who has the messianic will to make Nigeria better for all. “Any meaningful debate ought to consider whether Nigeria must stay the status quo or opt for a new breed politician who has the moral audacity to demonstrate consequences for bad behaviour in the country without minding whose ox is gored. “Fellow Nigerians will be interested to learn from the debate whether the APC, as a party, would risk losing power back to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) or whether the ruling party can sagely tap on the prevailing thirst for generational change in leadership and produce a younger, visionary, and dynamic leader who has the requisite knowledge, preparations, and the capacity to unleash the abundant potential of Nigeria to greatness,” he added. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/04/11/apc-presidential-aspirant-ogbonnia-challenges-buhari-to-a-debate/ cc lalasticlala |
https://misspetitenaijablog.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/5acb6b9d77272.jpg Earlier today President Buhari declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019. He made this known at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).Read his full speech at the meeting below; His remarks: REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, ON THE REPORT SUBMITTED BY THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS NATIONAL EXECUTIVE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE 9TH APRIL, 2018 I am delighted to welcome you all to this very important meeting in the affairs of our party and our country. I want to specifically thank members of the Technical Committee for a job well done within the limited time frame. 2. It shows a great sense of commitment to the ideals of our party with a view to consolidating and positioning the party to continue delivering good governance in the overall interest of Nigerians. 3. With the present state of the party and based on the report submitted by the Technical Committee, It is important to focus on how to move the party forward by avoiding actions detrimental to the interest of the party. Considering that politics is a game of numbers, we must not be a house divided against itself and must try to note, appreciate and accommodate our differences as far as the law permits. 4. Upon my review of the Report, my position is to ensure that the party tows the path of unity, legality and cohesion and not that of division. 5. Therefore, I am stressing that we should strengthen our internal democracy by organising the Party’s Congresses and Convention where election of National Executive Committee members would be held. This will automatically end the cases filed by members seeking orders of Court compelling the party to hold its Congresses. 6. I also believe that the current executives should be free to vie for elective positions in the party if they so wish as permitted by our Party constitution. 7. However, considering the provision of Article 31(1)(iii) of the APC Constitution which requires any serving officer desirous of seeking re-election to resign from office 30 days before election, I am not sure of the practicality of present serving officers’ ability to meet this condition. 8. Accordingly, the party may consider granting waivers to party executives at all levels so that they are not disenfranchised from participating in the elections should they wish to do so, provided this does not violate our rules. 9. Necessary waiver(s) should also be extended to executives at the Ward level whose tenures may have elapsed, and indeed to anyone knocking at our doors from other political parties. This is in the spirit of the Right to Freedom of Association guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). 10. In this circumstance, the party should officially issue a statement on the above Waivers so that our house may be full. We all must not be ignorant of the times, and the journey that is ahead of us. 11. Just like our party symbol; “the Broom,” which typifies strength in unity, let us strive to remain united in our purpose. Victory is sure by the Grace of God, and together we must continue to sanitize Nigeria’s political environment. 12. Once again, I welcome you all to this meeting with the hope that we will, in our deliberations today, conduct ourselves without rancour and promote the highest interest of the party and the nation. Thank you. Shettima said this in an interview with State House correspondents today after meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari. The governor was responding to the president’s declaration for second term at the National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress earlier today. Shettima said Buhari did not need to consult anybody before declaring his intention because as the sitting president, he has the right of first refusal. He also stated that all the governors elected on the platform of the party were in support of Buhari’s second term ambition. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/04/09/2019-buhari-man-to-beat-shettima/ cc lalasticlala |

She also declared that she was no longer going to eat anyone’s food again in the house and would only cater to herself and feed herself. This is in the wake of a big fight that ensued between Alex and Rico over food wastage in the house. Another fight over food seemed to ensue between the housemates and in the video making the rounds on social media, Cee-C could be seen telling her housemates “I asked for a meeting yesterday, you all ignored me. I felt like a fool, it’s going to get worse than this because me, Cee-C, i will not eat anybody else’s food again in this house. I will make my food, you know me now” Cee-C also went on to complain that the housemates behaved like animals with no regard for rules or regulations “Because we’re animals, we behave like animals, no rules, no regulations, animals.” she said. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Musiliu-Obanikoro-690x450.jpg The General Secretary of the Campaign for Democracy, CD, Ifeanyi Odili, has told the Federal Government that the recently released list of looters of national treasury was not complete. In a statement made available to reporters on Tuesday, Comrade Odili lamented that the list omitted the names of former PDP members who were now in the ruling APC. He said that corruption allegations against such persons had been dropped on partisan grounds. The CD Secretary further mentioned names such as Dr. Femi Thomas, a former Executive Secretary/Chief Operating Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, who defected from the PDP to the APC and as such, had corruption cases against him dropped. He also wondered why nothing had been heard again on corruption charges against a former Minister of Police Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro, and the former governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime, once they crossed over to the APC. The statement added, “The CD has observed with dismay that all the people that had been picked up at one time or the other over corruption allegations were members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party. “But we also observed that once these people renounced their membership of the PDP and cross over to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) they automatically become saints. All charges against them will either be promptly dropped or technically frustrated by the anti-graft agencies that brought up the charges. “A particularly appalling case is the several cases of corruption levelled against the immediate past Executive Secretary/Chief Operating Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), who was being investigated for alleged flagrant abuse of financial rules and regulations, executive rascality, embezzlement of public funds and monumental diversion of government funds by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission (ICPC). “This same man, who was a former Commissioner for Health in Ekiti State was in 2016 arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos over an alleged payment of $2.2million Dollars without going through a financial institution. “But the moment this man crossed over from PDP to APC, he has become a free man and he is now dictating political tunes in his Ekiti home town as he goes about with impunity. “What do we say of the former Minister of Police Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro? Where are the corruption charges preferred against him? “Or Sulivan Chime, the former governor of Enugu State, who defected from the PDP to the APC? All their sins have been forgiven them,” the CD lamented. It thus demanded that “in the spirit of fairness, all those facing corruption allegations must return to the courts to have their days.” “Otherwise, the anti-corruption crusade of the Buhari government is a total ruse and must by rejected by all right-thinking Nigerians,” the CD warned. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/PSP-operators-image.jpg Following the completion of a meeting involving all the Executive Chairmen and Chairpersons of the 57 Local Government (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, the operators of the Private Sector Participation (PSP) have been reinstated to commence waste collection on Lagos streets, REPORTNAIJA reliably gathered. This is following months of settling the dispute between the operators of PSP, the government and the managers of newly implemented Visionscape/Cleaner Lagos Initiative. In the meeting held at the Ministry of the Environment, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, and chaired by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Mr David Hunpe, under the directives of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, all PSP operators on the Lagos Mainland and across the State were reinstated and urged to immediately return to their various coverage areas of operation. Meanwhile, there were certain conditions attached to the reinstatement and proposed return of PSP operators to their previous coverage areas. REPORTNAIJA learnt that the conditions include the PSP operators taking care of domestic waste with zero cost to the members of public. This includes waste from living premises, institutions such as schools, hospitals excluding medical waste while the major roads will be handled by Visionscape group. In addition, PSP operators will be solely in charge of commercial waste collection with service charges paid by consumers to PSP operators. Also, Visionscape/CLI are to pay PSP operators for refuse collected from domestic premises to dump site after 15 days with one-year contract agreement and to be reviewed after a year onward. Furthermore, all printing press locations across Somolu and other parts of the State have been identified as commercial premises and as such, must pay adequate charges to PSP operators directly. Moreso, the Environmental Services Department across LGs/LCDAs have been instructed to monitor the activities of these waste collectors and report to the Ministry on a weekly basis. The LG administrators are also urged to meet regularly with the waste collectors in order to know their needs or challenges in their operations. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/shehu-sani-1.jpg The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of N360billion for procurement of security equipment to fight insecurity in the country. The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali,on Wednesday disclosed the release of $1 billion for procurement of security equipment to fight insecurity in the country after a three-hour meeting Buhari had with service chiefs and heads of other security agencies. Reacting, Sani in a tweet described the procurement as a misplaced priority, adding that the government should have rather allocated the funds to the welfare of the officers and soldiers fighting the war. In a series of tweets, the lawmaker wrote “A Billion dollar to purchase arms will not make sense if we don’t factor the welfare and wellbeing of the officers and soldiers fighting the war. “A special fund for the injured, the orphans and widows of our fallen soldiers need also to be factored in. A weapon cannot fight a war without the men to use it. “We also need to remind ourselves that our Defence Industry is moribund, before we enrich arms manufacturers in other nations. Abike in a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Abdurrahman Balogun, said the federal government did not state that the honour was bestowed by the King Centre, thereby accusing anti-Buhari elements of propagating “fake news”. The presidency had earlier disclosed that, “President @MBuhari today at the State House received Martin Luther King Jnr’s family. He was also conferred with the 1st Black History Month National Black Excellence and Exceptional African Leadership Award 2018.” The children of Martin Luther King and the King Center have, however, denied issuing the award to Buhari. In a tweet on Wednesday, The King Center said: “The award given to President Buhari of Nigeria was not given by The King Center, at the request of The King Center or by the children of #MLK and #CorettaScottKing. @MrFixNigeria” Dabiri, however, said Buhari received a ‘commemorative plaque’ for his fight against corruption by a member of Martin Luther Kings family not by the centre. The statement reads “Our attention has been drawn to obviously fake online news reports on the visit of some members of the MLK family to Nigeria. “The members, led by the Matriarch of MLK, Naomi Barbara King, were in Nigeria as part of the activities initiated to celebrate a low- key Black History Month in Nigeria as part of deepening partnership between Africa and its Diaspora. “As part of the activities, they visited President Muhammadu Buhari and gave him a commemorative plaque for his fight against corruption and what they termed from the “ Africania Diaspora” a term for Africans in Diaspora for which the oldest of them all Naomi Barbara King was selected to present on behalf of the family (NOT MLK CENTER) as a sign of appreciation to the Nigerian President. “It must be categorically stated here that the trip was totally privately funded and not one kobo was spent by the Nigerian government as it was all a private initiative. “However, after two days in Nigeria, one of the members apparently granted an interview which was seen as being political , asking Nigerians to give President Muhammadu Buhari a chance to continue his good works especially of fighting corruption in Nigeria. “As a non political group , he was asked to refute the statement , which he refused to , insisting that was how he felt , and it was his personal opinion, not that of the family nor the centre, of which he is a board member and was the Chief Operating Officer for over five years. “This may have led to some arguements among them , which they have said they will resolve when they get back to the US., which apparently led to the tweet being circulated “The visit to Nigeria was quite successful that they extended their stay for two major days, surprised at the negative reports on Nigeria. “Members of the public are hereby urged to please discountenance any fake news about the visit and avoid the temptation of destroying all the good things for the sake of Politics. as the administration marches on in the fight against against corruption.” source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/29/presidency-recants-on-martin-luther-king-awards-says-plaque-not-from-family/ cc lalasticlala |

He took to his page to show off the diamond encrusted customized chain and gave credit to the UK-based Nigerian jeweler, Malivelihood, who made the piece. The celebrity jeweler then took to the comment section of the post and confirmed the price of the chain saying, “N14million no be small thing o.” Well, alongside his expensive sh”t, he also donned a Louis Vuitton/Supreme Box Logo sweatshirt – a cool outfit actually – not until we discovered that he was wearing a fake version of the shirt. https://i0.wp.com/www.yabaleftonline.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/kiss2-1.jpg?resize=640%2C640 You see, according to the foreign account that busted him, the design shouldn’t be touching the box logo as seen below… https://i0.wp.com/www.yabaleftonline.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/kiss4-1.jpg?resize=640%2C640 Apparently, that of Kiss Daniel is far from it and besides when we further investigated to find a type like his, we realized that his is actually a cloned version of the piece… yeah well… https://i2.wp.com/www.yabaleftonline.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/kiss3-1.jpg?resize=640%2C800 SOURCE https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/27/kiss-daniel-busted-by-foreign-account-for-wearing-fake-designer-wears/ cc lalasticlala |

Auto Draft Buhari gave the assurance when the UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed met him in Abuja, according to a note by the UN issued from New York. “On preparations for the 2019 elections and expected support from the United Nations, President Muhammadu Buhari welcomed continuous support from the United Nations. “And assured the Deputy Secretary-General of his commitment to ensuring credible, free and fair elections in Nigeria,” the UN said. According to the Nations, Mohammed undertook a two-day visit to Nigeria from March 23 to 25, during which she met with Buhari in Abuja and interacted with other senior officials and stakeholders in Lagos. The UN said the President and the Deputy Secretary-General discussed four main issues: 2019 general election, deportation of Cameroonian asylum seekers, the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement, and the humanitarian and security challenges in Northeast. “On the situation in Cameroon and the status of Cameroonian Refugees in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Deputy Secretary-General agreed on the need to respect international obligations on the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, the Cameroonians in particular. “They also called for the respect of the guarantee of fair and humane treatment of those recently arrested and deported to Cameroon,” the UN said. “On the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement, President Muhammadu Buhari assured the Deputy Secretary-General of the country’s intention to sign the agreement following national consultations. “On the humanitarian and security situation in the North East, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Deputy-Secretary welcomed the speedy return of the recently abducted girls from Dapchi. “And highlighted the need for particular attention to be given to securing schools through the accelerated implementation of the Safe School Initiative,” the UN added. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/5ab8ab463a5d7.jpg Former president Goodluck Jonathan, has alleged that there is a grand plan by some persons to sponsor campaigns that are aimed at tarnishing his image. The former president made the allegation on his Facebook page. Recall that last week, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, alleged that the fomer president ”essentially shared” N150 billion withdrawn from the CBN, two weeks to the 2015 general election. In his Facebook page, Jonathan who is currently monitoring the presidential runoff election in Sierra Leone, wrote ”It has been brought to my attention that while I am away promoting democracy in Sierra Leone, a campaign will be unleashed against me to falsely impugn my name using both faceless and identified persons. When I was in power I said my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. Even out of power, I continue to hold that belief. What I will say however, is that no matter how far and fast falsehood has traveled, it must eventually be overtaken by truth. GEJ”. His former media aide, Reno Omokri, about the same time last night, also posted a tweet alleging that Yemi Osinbajo has sponsored a story to be published in major dailies today, quoting a source saying Jonathan stole Billions of Naira. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Adebayo-Shittu-2.jpg Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has urged the Nigerian Government to trace innovators of the defunct Biafra who are still alive for them to deploy their technological know-how towards the nation’s drive for industrialisation. The Minister regretted that the nation failed to take advantage of the great innovations propelled by the three-year war, which ended in 1970, by making use of those he described as great minds that sustained the then Biafra army. Shittu, who spoke at the commissioning of Technology Orientation Centre, built by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), at Idu, Abuja, yesterday, urged the agency to go beyond the elite environment and trace those innovators, most of whom did not even have university education. “I recall that during the civil war, we had so many innovators from Nnewi and other parts of eastern region then. So many people, who didn’t have university education, developed so many technological infrastructure in the East”, Sun quoted him as saying. “But it looks like after the war, they were forgotten. I think Nigeria should look for these great minds that may not have had university education but in terms of innovativeness, they sustained to a great deal the then Biafra Republic Army. “I think that NASENI should move beyond the elite environment and look for these people who I believe are going to add great value to what NASENI has been doing. “Again, there is need for us to start challenging ourselves. Number one, up till today, toothpicks are still imported; serviette papers are still being imported. Up till today, so many small things are still imported into Nigeria. “It’s not enough for us to look for the big targets in terms of engineering infrastructure. I think we should not leave behind those small items that we need on daily basis. “These are things that ordinarily if we have them produced locally, will be patronised by virtually every Nigerian. I will suggest that our immediate target like the President has always said, is that we should produce what we eat,” he stated. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/22/why-nigeria-needs-biafrans-shittu/ |
https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Police-Patrol.jpg The police have killed six members of a kidnap gang in a gun battle in the Fidiwo forest area along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday. He said the suspects, who were killed on Tuesday, had been on the wanted list of the Ogun State Police Command for carrying out several kidnapping activities along the highway. According to Oyeyemi, the suspects had earlier kidnapped two medical doctors working with the University College Teaching Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, while on their way to Lagos and they were later rescued by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS). He said the criminal act infuriated the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, who consequently ordered the officer in charge of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Uba Adam, to go after the hoodlums. “In compliance with the CP’s order, the FSARS operatives embarked on technical intelligence investigation and the suspects were tracked down to their hideout in a thick forest at Fidiwo area along Lagos-Ibadan expressway. “The hideout was stormed, consequent upon which the suspects engaged the men of FSARS in a gun duel which lasted about an hour. At the end of the encounter, six of the suspects were gunned down, while two policemen also sustained injuries,” the command’s spokesman said. He added that the injured policemen have been taken to the hospital while the team recovered some items from the suspects. They include one double-barreled shotgun, one single barreled long gun, several live and expended cartridges, as well as assorted charms and cutlass among others. Oyeyemi said the police commissioner commended the gallantry and professional conduct of the police team and declared that Ogun State would never be a safe haven for criminals. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/03/22/police-kill-six-suspected-kidnappers-in-ogun/ cc lalasticlala |
https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Femi-Fani-Kayode-August-2014-BellaNaija.com-01-600x437-600x437.jpg I am happy that the Dapchi girls are all back home but I am deeply troubled by the fact that one of them was left behind and by the assertion that 5 of them died whilst in captivity. The day the truth coes out about what really happened to the Chibok and Dapchi girls and those that were behind these two scams, Nigerians will be shocked and they will spit on the graves of Buhari and his collaborators. Meanwhile I saw the pictures and watched the video of Dapchi residents cheering on and waving at Boko Haram insurgents as they dropped off the “missing” girls. It was clear to me that they regarded the terrorists as heroes and I was compelled to ask myself the following question, “are we really one country?” So many questions need to be answered. For example how do you explain the Ghana Must Go bags that the girls were carrying on their return? Did they go shopping in Sambisa Forest? Or is it that when they abducted them they gave them time to pack all their clothes and allowed them to bring them back when freed? Another question that needs to be answered is this: why did the Federal Government lie to the international media that the girls were dropped off in Dapchi at 3.00am in the morning when the footage and pictures of their return prove that the whole thing was done in broad daylight. Finally why did the government inflate the number of the girls that were abducted when the kidnapping took place six weeks ago. They claimed that 110 girls were missing after which the school and the parents set the record straight and said that 105 girls were kidnapped and not 110. Could it be that they knew that in order to make their story more credible after money had changed hands and the girls were returned they had to be able to say that at least 5 of the girls died whilst in captivity without having to actually kill any of them? This seems to me to be the only plausible reason for telling this lie and sticking to it to the end even though it had been exposed for what it was from the outset by the parents of the girls and the school authorities. Finally why are the government telling the whole world more lies by saying that no ransom was paid in return for the girls? It is common knowledge in intelligence and security circles that vast sums of money was paid to the terrorists and quite a lot of that money was sent back to some of the govermmrnt officials that were involved in the negotiations and the scam as a kickback. The point is that the whole thing was planned and agreed on well before the abduction ever took place. That is why our Minister of Defence could tell the Nigerian people just a few days ago that the girls would definately be released within 2 weeks at the most. A few days later they were dropped off by their terrorist abductors in Dapchi after all the soldiers and security personnel that had been deployed to the area were withdrawn. As the terrorists entered the town with the girls they were hailed as heroes and received like freedom fighters by the locals and not as if they were terrorists. Some reports suggest that the massive crowd that received them were even chanting “holy warriors” in hausa as they marched through the streets. This reminds me of the words of the massive crowds that welcomed Fidel Castro, Che Guevera and their rebel fighters in Batitsa’s pre-communist Cuba as they and their rebel fighters went from town to town during the days of the revolution. In those turbulent days and despite Batista’s efforts to crush the revolution with full American support, as the communist rebels went from town to town they were met and encouraged with chants of “Viva Fidel! Viva Che!” by ecstatic crowds and the rest is history. Today in Dapchi and parts of northern Nigeria the crowds chant “holy warriors” as Boko Haram march through their villages and the streets of their towns. The implications of this are obvious and clear to the discerning. When they arrived in Dapchi the Boko Haram insurgents not only interacted with the crowd openly with smiles on their faces but they also spoke to the parents of the girls, apologised to them about what happened and told them not to allow their children to go to school again. Apart from the fact that they made vast sums of money in their deal with Buhari, which they will now use to buy more arms and organise more abductions, it is clear that this whole thing is the gratest public relations stunt for Boko Haram ever since it began its operations 7 years ago and they have won many friends and admirers as a consequence of it. The narrative that they would not have abducted the girls had they known they were Muslims, though false, seems to have resonated with the local Muslim population in the north and this can only help Boko Haram and swell its ranks. Someone is giving them very good advice and counsel and I suspect that that person or group of persons are in government and are also in one or more of our intelligence and security agencies. They are working with Boko Haram in the same way that the dreaded Pakistani intelligence agency, known as the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), works covertly and in collaboration and collusion with the jihadist terrorist organisation that is known as the Taliban. Whichever way you look at it and whatever you believe, there can be little doubt that a terrible precedent has now been set and we can expect many more Boko Haram abductions in the next few months after which money will change hands again and the girls, as long as they are Muslims, will be released and returned. This is especially so because the 2019 elections are approaching and the government needs to raise funds to build up its war chest. Meanwhile, due to the massive amount of cash that they are receiving from these exercises, the numbers and strength of Boko Haram itself will increase enormously over the next few months until they become one of the most effective and wealthy terrorist organisations in the world. The Nigerian people and and indeed the people of the West African sub-region do not know it yet but the truth is that we are in trouble. What Buhari and his friends have foisted on us is something that few can comprehend and imagine and the truth is that we simply cannot handle it. Add that to the scourge of the Fulani herdsmen that has blighted the country and afflicted our people and you will accept that unless something gives and changes very quickly the future of our country is bleak. A terrible precedent has been set and we shall rue the day that this was done. The government believes that it will boost its ratings and increase its popularity by these shameless scams, manouverings and subterfuge but as the truth begins to unfold, and be rest assured that it eventually will, the whole exercise will backfire badly. In the end it will lead to more enmity, more division, more bitterness and more violence. The truth is that the Dapchi incident is the biggest and most dangerous scam and money-making venture in the history of Nigerian politics and those poor little girls are just pawns in a much bigger game and wider picture. The fact of the matter is that the Buhari administration are the owners of both Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen. They trade in blood, death and terror. And if you really believe that a President and government that is capable of pulling off the Dapchi scam with Boko Haram will allow a free and fair election next year then you need to have your head examined. The truth is that there is no law and there is no democracy in Nigeria. This is a lawless and dangerous country where anything can happen and anything is possible because the machinery of government has been highjacked by the emissaries of hell and the Kingdom of Darkness. The Guardian Newspaper reported that, “Boko Haram shook hands with the parents and apologised for abducting them. They said if they knew they were Muslim girls, they wouldn’t have abducted them”. Can you imagine the implications of that? I have been reliably informed that 15 year old Miss Liya Sharibu, the only Christian among the Dapchi girls, has not been released simply because she refused to renounce her faith and convert to Islam whilst in captivity. The Buhari government told their Boko Haram friends to return the Dapchi girls yet Liya Sharibu, the only Christian amongst them, was not released because of her faith. 105 girls and one boy were taken and, according to CNN and BBC TV, 104 girls and one boy were returned home. But little Liya was not allowed to come home. They decided to keep her in captivity. I pray for her and her family. May God console them, give them strength and avenge them. If she is still alive I pray that God touches their hearts and that they release her. I call on the Christian God, the Lord of the Universe, the Ancient of Days, the Lord of Hosts, the Great Avenger and the God of all Flesh, to avenge us and remove these cow lovers and sons of the Bonded Woman from the seat and corridors of power. I pray that the Lord delivers us and wipes away our tears and collective shame. Permit me to conclude this contribution with the words of Mr. Nata Sharibu, who is Liya’s father. He spoke the following words to Raypower Radio and they were published in the Cable. He said, “All of them were released. They said some were dead there and my daughter is alive but they cannot release her because she is a Christian. They gave her the option of converting in order to be released but she said she will never become a Muslim. I am very sad but I am also jubilating too because my daughter did not denounce her faith”. This is a courageous man and a great soldier of Christ. May the Lord return his daughter, gladden his heart and grant him peace and joy. God be with the young and beautiful Liya. God be with us all. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/5ab20193d6b0e.jpg Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, dismissed a suit seeking to remove Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, from office. Justice John Tsoho dismissed the suit on grounds that the plaintiffs, Michael Elokun, Ibrahim Sule and Hawa Audi had no business instituting the case. The plaintiffs were asking the court to grant an order for the return and immediate swearing-in of Idris Wada, former governor of the state. Tsoho, in his judgment, upheld the objection of Bello that the plaintiffs had no “locus standi” to institute the action. He held that the plaintiffs were neither members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nor aspirants in the primary election that made Bello the candidate of the party in the governorship election. Moreso, the court agreed with Bello that the plaintiffs were not the only electorate in Kogi. The judge also held that the subject matter of the suit was not within the jurisdiction of the court as it was not a pre-election matter. He said that the suit was bound to fail because it was filed almost two years after Bello had been sworn in as the democratically-elected governor of Kogi. Other defendants in the suit are the APC, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney-General of the Federation.
