Fuji star, K1 De Ultimate has debunked claims of marrying and having a daughter with Nigerian socialite Aramide Adenle.

The singer who reportedly has 38 children from different women also dispelled rumours of spending N15m to host a party for her. Stating that marriage is a holy rite ordained by God, K1 added that he cannot enter into such relationship without the knowledge of his family and friends which indeed include top media practitioners.

The statement released by K1's spokesperson, Kunle Rasheed reads;

Our attention has been drawn ro a story making the rounds that King of Fuji music, K1 De Ultimate had married a new wife.

The peddlers of this story also stated that he already has a daughter with the same woman and recently spent 15 million naira to host a party for her.

For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state that marriage is a holy rite ordained by God and a man of K1's calibre and accomplishments cannot be one to enter into such union without the knowledge of his family and friends which indeed include top media practitioners.

We find it repulsive that K1's name could be dragged into one fictional marriage story wiithout any attempt to confirm the veracity or otherwise of such story.

We wish to inform friends, family, fans and the general public that indeed K1 performed at the mentioned ceremony because he was contracted to play at the Ibadan party.
How that translated into his marriage ceremony is one that we are yet to understand.

All K1 did at the event was to deliver a 100 percent A-class performance the K1 brand is known for and nothing more.

Indeed, the universal standard practice in journalism demands proper and adequate confirmation of stories before rushing to press.

A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has dismissed a fake news being circulated by the APC to portray General Muhammadu Buhari as having a West African School Certificate (WASC).

Frank who was reacting to a media report aimed at deceiving Nigerians and also swaying the Presidential Election Petition Court to rule in favour of General Buhari, urged the APC to stop spreading falsehood as “the world knows that Buhari has no Secondary school certificate anywhere”.

According to him, the report titled: “Buhari cambridge certificate verification; PDP agent disappointed” is a fake news from the pit of hell.

The report quoting an unnamed source had claimed among other things that “As the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal kicked off few months ago, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sent a team of lawyers and other party agents to the University of Cambridge to confirm the authenticity of the West African School Certificate (WASC) of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“A Cambridge source said that the opposition party not only sent a delegation but also made a request seeking potential evidence, citing doubts about the authenticity of the President’s WASC results.

“The source said that the PDP representatives who visited Cambridge were stunned to discover that the President did write the examination, passed and were even dumbfounded when they cited the well kept records of the Cambridge University.

“The source said even the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and associates requested Cambridge provide them with a confirmation of his certificate,” the report said.

Frank wondered why the APC could descend so low in trying to fraudulently rewrite history by claiming that Cambridge University allegedly confirmed that a self-confessed certificate-less General Buhari now has a certificate.

He said: “It is a shame that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and his lackeys have become so shameless to the point where they churn out blatant lies to confuse Nigerians. The question is: does Gen. Buhari have a WAEC certificate?

“If yes, where is it? Lai Mohammed had admitted that Buhari does not have a WAEC certificate and asked Nigerians to forgive him for not knowing where his (Buhari) certificate was 53 years after leaving Secondary School.

“Nigerians can now see why the APC’s government is clueless. This so called cambridge source, who is he? What is his name? Nigerians will love to get in touch with him to ascertain the veracity of the information.

“But I can assure Nigerians that the source will forever remain anonymous, reason being that this so called source does not exist.

“This is pure garbage being churned out by the APC’s and Buhari’s propaganda machine but glory be to God, Nigerians are not buying and will not buy the lies this time around. Instead, Nigerians are asking that Buhari be sacked, #SACKBUHARI,” the Bayelsa-born activist said.

He said that of Justice Walter Onnoghen could be fraudulently hounded out of the Judiciary as Chief Justice of Nigeria because of his alleged lack of full asset declaration, why should General Buhari who has no record of having completed his school certificate remain as President in brazen violation of the nation’s Constitution?

He said: “Onnoghen was embarrased and forced to resign from office as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) for omitting to declare all his assets, yet Lai Mohammed is asking Nigerians to forgive Buhari who has no WAEC Certificate and once lied that his certificate is with the military.

“General Buhari is now the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, yet he cannot fish out his certificate from the military authorities.

“Notwithstanding, APC wants Nigerians to depend on an unknown and unnamed source from Cambridge to believe General Buhari has a certificate. Why go to Sokoto when you can get what you lack inside your ‘sokoto?’

“The Constitution is clear. A minimum of school certificate is required to contest for the office of President. The law is also clear on the penalty for pejury.

“I want to use this opportunity to remind the presidential electoral petition judges that Nigerians are watching and waiting to read what their judgement will be.

“Give the right judgement by sacking Gen. Buhari because he does not have a WAEC certificate which amounts to a gross violation of the constitution and write your names in GOLD on the annals of Nigeria’s history for being men of courage and integrity who stood by the truth at a critical moment.

“Initially Gen. Buhari said the certificate was with the military. None of his course mates in the military could testify under oath that they did submit their certificates to the military.

“Besides, even the military itself has come out boldly to say that they are not in possession of General Buhari’s WAEC certificate. Is this a ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ certificate that people cannot see?”

A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed plans by prominent Nigerians in Diaspora to stage a massive apolitical protest against General Muhammadu Buhari at the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) slated for 17th of September, 2019.

He said the protest is aimed to demand for the release of all political prisoners under the APC’s administration, freedom for the remaining Chibok girls, Leah Sharibu, Omoyele Sowore, Sambo Dasuki and Ibrahim El Zazaky.

Other demands by organizers of proposed apolitical protest include; to put a stop on killings by Fulani herdsmen, ensure respect for the rule of law, provision of adequate security, for Nigerians, stop human rights abuses and to ensure that government stops interfering, harassing and intimidating the Nigerian judiciary.
Other objectives are to put a stop to nepotism in the country, and more importantly, to urge the United States of American to include the Chief of Army Staff and other Nigerian Service Chiefs in the Visa ban already proposed for those that aided the rigging and violence that characterized the 2019 general elections.

A statement released to newsmen by Comrade Timi Frank, in Abuja on Wednesday, said the current administration does not practice democracy and as such does not allow protest in Nigeria.
“We urge all Nigerians in diaspora to come out and protest and the UN General Assembly in New York to make General Buhari understand that Nigeria belongs to all of us. This apolitical protest is to save Nigeria from further destruction by General Buhari whose sole aim is to Islamise Nigeria.
“A protest date will be communicated later, however Nigerians in diaspora should brace up for this mother of all protests as this is an opportunity to let the world know about the plight of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“All regional groups including IPOB, Ohanaeze, Afenifere, etc, in diaspora should take part in this apolitical protest to bring to the knowledge of the world, the sufferings, human right abuses and oppression being meted out to Nigerians by Gen. Buhari.”
The statement also called on the International Community to take note that Gen. Buhari has a pending case in the Presidential Election Petition Court where the legitimacy of his mandate is being challenged and until the judgment is given by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, he should not be addressed as President but as former Military General.

“No world leader will accept or perpetrate the kind of killings, impunity and lawlessness being meted out to Nigerians in Nigeria by General Buhari’s government which does not allow freedom of expression – one of the fundamental human rights of a citizen in any democracy.
“Finally we appeal to Nigerians in diaspora, especially those in USA to come out en-masse and join this forthcoming Save Our Soul protest. Let us show love to our brothers and sisters back home who have been caged and are not allowed to express their views freely.
“Henceforth, Nigerians in diaspora should come out en masse and protest against Gen Buhari and his lackey Yemi Osibanjo in any country they may visit as there is no peace for the wicked.
“#FreeNigeriaprotest is the beginning of rescuing Nigeria from tyranny under General Buhari,” he said.

He further called on Nigerians resident in other parts of the world and who can afford it to make their way to New York during the UNGA to join the protest as no sacrifice is too great to pay for the rescue of the country from, tyranny, wickedness and anti-democratic elements now in the saddle of governance.

The Kogi State Governor in a statement by his spokesperson Kingsley Fanwo, expressed readiness to meet his deputy in court over the alleged non-payment of his entitlements of over N800 million which he decribed as described as 'bogus claims'. “The deputy governor is aware that by virtue of extant financial regulations, even where expenditures are provided for in the budget, they are still subject to approvals based on an estimation that funds to defray will be available; and where they are approved, the release of such funds still depends on the availability of funds,” he said.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, over security issues in the state.



According to Channels TV, Suswam was arrested today after the incumbent governor, Samuel Ortom, petitioned the DSS alleging that Suswam has threatened to make the state ungovernable hence the continous attacks recorded in the state.



The DSS had arrested the former Governor in 2017, after it said it uncovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from a property allegedly belonging to him at number 44 Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Maitama-Abuja.



According to a statement by the DSS spokesman, Tony Opuiyo, the operation was informed by intelligence that some incriminating items were stashed in the boots of cars parked at the property.

The agency said after carrying out a raid on the property in the presence of two private security officers employed by the company, the following items were recovered:

A glock pistol with two magazines and a total of 29 rounds of ammunition, a mini-uzi with two magazines containing 10 rounds and four rounds respectively, 42 extra rounds of ammunition contained in a pack and one Ak-47.

The search also revealed 21 Certificates of Occupancy and one Offer of Statutory Right of Occupancy, 23 luxury designer watches; and 45 keys to various exotic cars.

Leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark has spoken on how former President Olusegun Obasanjo supported the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.

He said Obasanjo’s condemnation of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan played a part in the latter’s defeat.

“My disagreement with him is that he alleged that some people are corrupt and I know that he is also corrupt. He was one of those who made President Muhammadu Buhari to win in the last election by condemning the former President (Goodluck Jonathan), who he also made President”, Clark told Punch.

“He made him (Jonathan) governor because of his hatred for Alamieyeseigha. He (Obasanjo) made Jonathan vice president and contributed to his becoming President.

“So, I don’t know what went wrong. Jonathan became like somebody that was carrying leprosy and because of that, Obasanjo started abusing the Ijaw.

“Obasanjo is still my friend. We have always been very friendly. Recently, somebody said we will meet. I am ready to meet with him at any time.

“He is not my enemy. When he says things that are true, I praise him. When he says things that are bad, I condemn him. That is politics.”

An armed robbery suspect and former militant who was rehabilitated by members of the Omega Power Ministries, Port Harcourt in Rivers state, has been rearrested for Armed robbery.

Babachir Lawal, the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation says he is happy with the manner with which he is being investigated by the EFCC.



During a programme on Channels Television titled, ‘Hard Copy’ which was aired on Friday, the former SGF, who was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 30, 2017, after being probed by a committee headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, said he was confident that the EFCC would get to the truth.



Lawal, who was accused by the Senate of allegedly awarding one of his companies with a grass-cutting contract to the tune of N223m, said the EFCC, being a neutral entity, would uncover the truth.

He said, “I like it (EFCC probe) because the EFCC has the capacity both in equipment and personnel to get to the truth and they are expected to be impartial. The former SGF said despite his ordeal, he was still close to the President. He added that he and Buhari as leaders of the All Progressives Congress, still met on a regular basis.



In his words, “I still see the President, I have access to him. If there is anything to discuss, we do so. He is a politician, we are politicians. I joined politics to contribute to making Buhari the President and that was the reason I joined politics and this will not be an issue between us.”



When asked whether he felt he had brought shame on the Presidency, he added, “No, because I believe it is a lie so why should I feel I let him down.” He explained what he meant by the question, ‘who is the Presidency?’ when he was accosted by State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa shortly after his dismissal.



Lawal said it was not in the character of Buhari to announce the sack of his appointees before informing them in person. He, therefore, said he was surprised to hear the Presidency had sacked him when he was in fact in charge of announcing appointments. Lawal, however, stated that he expected an explanation from Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo before his removal. The ex-SGF added, “The Vice-President ought to have told me. I expected him to have told me.”

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Thursday reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s remark that Northern youths are uneducated and are school dropouts.

Buhari had stated this in an interview with the Voice of America Hausa service, in Washington, United States on Tuesday.

The President had said, “You know they say we are over 180 to 200 million people in Nigeria and 60% are the youth below the age of 30.

“In the North for instance, most have not attended school or they abandoned halfway.”

Reacting to the remark, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, urged Northern youths to respond to the comment.

He wrote: “Nigerian youths are lazy, uneducated and don’t like to do any work – @MBuhari, April, 2018.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in London, United Kingdom.

The Presidency has, however, attributed his presence in the British capital to what it called “technical stopover.”

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, made this known in an interview with Punch on Thursday (today).

He said: “They (President Buhari and his close attendants) had a technical stopover in London. I am sure if you keep your ears to the ground, you will hear of his arrival soon.”

The presidential spokesman, however, did not give details of the ‘technical stopover’ but insisted it’s not something to worry about.

Buhari, who traveled to the United States for a meeting with President Donald Trump, had left Washington, D.C. on Tuesday after the Monday meeting.

As of the time of filing this report, the President is yet to return to Nigeria.

Seun Kuti, son of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has reacted to the federal government’s ban on the production of Codeine containing syrups in Nigeria.

DAILY POST reports that the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, on Tuesday directed the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to ban with immediate effect further issuance of permits for the importation of codeine as active pharmaceutical ingredient for cough preparations.

Adewole said the directive became necessary due to the gross abuse of Codeine usage in the country.

But reacting through his Twitter handle, Kuti said the ban would not be effective as it only means that drug dealers will make more money.

He wrote: “Igbo has been banned since forever (unjustly) but e still dey everywhere.

“The reactionary ban of Codeine by the FG only means drug dealers will make more money from it. It can’t affect supply. #Bigpharma”.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Wednesday warned political parties against engaging in electioneering before the end of the year.

The Chairman of the electoral body, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, gave the warning at a town hall meeting on “Health, democracy and governance: Putting health as top political agenda of Nigeria,” organised by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

Yakube lamented that even though INEC had rolled out a timetable for the 2019 general elections, politicians were flouting it and mounting campaign billboards in different parts of the country.

Yakubu said, “INEC is spending a huge amount of money on technology due to a lack of trust among politicians, the electorate and the commission. Such funds would have been channeled into useful programmes like immunisation and other health projects.”

Represented by a National Commissioner, Muhammed Lecky, the INEC boss said the commission was facing challenges posed by the social media.

The Chairman, Partners for Electoral Reforms and the co-convener of Say No Campaign Nigeria, Mr. Ezenwa Nwagwu, observed that the “pauperization of citizens by hurtful government policies, recent attempts at shutting down the corruption economy and the inability of many to adjust to the absence of free money for unbridled consumption and ostentation are a sure threat to the 2019 election.”

Oil marketers under the aegis of Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers’ Association, DAPPMA, on Tuesday dared Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to prove her allegation.

The marketers, who spoke in separate interview with Vanguard, were reacting to the allegation made by the former Minister of Finance that some oil marketers planned to confine her to wheelchair for fighting corruption under the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Okonjo-Iweala made the claim in her new book entitled, ‘Fighting Corruption is Difficult.’

The Executive Secretary of DAPPMA, Femi Adewale, said “she (Okonjo-Iweala) is free to make any allegation deemed fit but she can help by naming the marketers.”

Also in his reaction to the claim, the National President of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Chinedu Okoronkwo, said that the association was not mentioned in the statement.

He said, “Why will I react to such issue? We are not importing. For IPMAN, our major operation is buying from tank farms and NNPC depots.

“So you can know that she is not referring to us. She is referring to those who are coming to claim subsidy, not us.’’

On his part, Femi Olawore, Executive Secretary, Major Marketers Association of Nigeria, MOMAN, said: “How do I know the truth?

“I can only comment on our working relationship. I enjoyed working with her because she was very accessible.

“She worked against several forces in order to reduce the subsidy claims. We had reasons to quarrel but overall, she is a good Nigerian.”

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, yesterday tagged the anticipatory approval and payment of $496 million by President Muhammadu Buhari for the purchase of the A29 Super Tucano Aircraft as an act of ‘corruption and misappropriation of public funds.’

It called on the National Assembly to ensure that the full wrath of the law was brought to bear on the issue.

Rising from its monthly meeting at the home of their leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, in Akure, Afenifere also condemned the statement credited to the President in London, where he degraded youths.

Reading the group’s communiqué, its Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin said Afenifere “frowned at the anticipatory approval and payment of $496 million to the US government by President Buhari for the purchase of 12 A29 Super Tucano aircraft.

“It is disturbing that this impetuous act was carried out by the President, who is now asking the National Assembly to include money he already spent in 2018 Appropriation Act under consideration.

“This is against Section 83 of the 1999 constitution. Since there was no act of National Assembly for this money, it is clear that the President’s action is a clear subversion of 1999 constitution.

“It is an act of corruption and misappropriation of public funds and we call on the National Assembly to ensure that the full wrath of the law is brought to bear on this issue because this act of impunity is getting too much.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decries the relentless assault by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Federal Executive against the institution of the National Assembly, particularly, the Senate.

Nigerians have noted how the leadership of the Senate and elected senators of the Federal Republic are being harassed, arrested, detained and even arraigned on trumped-up charges for holding opinion divergent to that of the executive arm.

Since the emergence of the current leadership of the Senate outside the preference of the APC and the executive arm, the Senate has been under attack while senators who show support for the leadership are being hounded and harassed by agents of the executive.

The world has been watching with horror since it started with the arraignment of Senate President Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and other senators on trumped-up charges as well as attempts to rope in the Deputy Senate President on charges related to treason.

Today, we are witnessing the harassment and arrest of Senator Dino Melaye, who is known for his support for the Senate leadership and his criticisms of the excesses of the executive arm.

Currently, Senators Aliyu Wamakko, Rabiu Kwakwanso and Danjuma Goje are all being harassed for holding opinions that do not suit the whims and caprices of the executive.

Only last week, the security architecture in the National Assembly was compromised, paving the way for the invasion of the Senate chambers by strangers who disrupted proceedings, harassed and threatened our lawmakers and forcefully took away the mace.

We know that the unrelenting assault is aimed at silencing strong dissenting voices, emasculate the legislature and prevent it from playing its constitutional duties of checking the excesses and impunity of the executive arm.

We urge Nigerians to look beyond partisan sentiments and join in condemning the attack on the institution of the legislature, without which we cannot be a democratic nation.

Finally, the PDP appeals to our lawmakers not to allow their spirits to be broken or buckle to intimidation. They must continue in their pursuit of their oath of office and allegiance and in their onerous goal of making laws for the good governance of our nation.

Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi west senatorial District has been rushed to an Abuja hospital after sustaining injuries when he allegedly jumped off a moving Police vehicle.

Melaye was arrested Tuesday morning by operatives of the Nigeria Police drawn from its Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS. It was gathered that the senator allegedly jumped out of the moving vehicle while he was being taken to Lojoja.


He was said to have injured himself in the process and was taken to Zanklin Hospital in Abuja. Sources told Daily Trust that Melaye was being conveyed to Lokoja to be paraded alongside other criminal suspects by the police.

A Federal High Court in Abuja is in about the claim of ill health by the former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisah Metuh.

Justice Okon Abang expressed his reservations while delivering a ruling on an application filed by mister Metuh seeking the release of his passport to enable him to travel abroad to treat a spinal cord ailment.

The trial judge questioned why Metuh had not appealed the two earlier decisions of the court that refused to release his international passport.

He voiced his suspicions that there might be a hidden agenda by the politician to present the court as inhuman, by filing the same application before the trial court a third time, rather than going on appeal.

Justice Abang agreed with the arguments of the prosecution that filing the application for the third time was an unpardonable and reckless abuse of judicial processes.

He concluded by saying he cannot sit on appeal over his own judgment, having already refused an application for the release of Metuh’s passport twice.
