Yes na.

Another one told me to pause the ride when she wanted to step into an eatery to buy food.

Told her it's not possible except I end the trip. She said a driver paused for her the day before.

I asked her if it had any effect on the estimate she saw when he finally ended the trip.

She said yes, she paid the same amount she saw.

Had to take time to explain to her its because she didn't take much time at the eatery and that in my experience, once the driver does not wait more than 10 minutes at a stop, you hardly see any difference in price.

Not sure she even believed me. Probably thought I was giving her stories because I wanted the money to increase cheesy
just tell her okay.

Run-flat or zero-pressure tires can support the weight of a vehicle for a short time, providing the driver with about 100 miles of range to find a repair shop. While it may sound like the perfect solution, car owners and car shoppers should know about the trade-offs. You'll now find run-flats on the majority of vehicles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Mini. Cadillac sedans also employ run-flat tires.

Self-Supporting Tire
The most common type of run-flat technology in use today is the self-supporting tire. The tire's sidewalls are heavily reinforced to support the vehicle when the air pressure is low or even when the tire has lost all its pressure.
Pros:
You can drive on a flat tire: The primary benefit of a self-supporting tire is that it allows you to keep driving on a flat about 100 miles after all the air has gone. You don't have to get out of the car in the cold, or the rain, or onto a busy highway or on the street in a sketchy part of town. Drivers will usually have to reduce speed to about 50 mph to get the maximum range. The owner's manual will have exact figures for each tire/vehicle application.

Better stability after a blowout: Because this tire can support the vehicle for miles without air, a sudden deflation results in less weight transfer and tread destabilization. Steering and handling will remain near normal.

Lower vehicle weight: With the spare wheel and tire repair tools eliminated, vehicle weight should theoretically go down. But it won't be as much as you might expect since run-flats weigh more than regular tires due to the added sidewall reinforcement.
Cons:

No spare: Vehicles equipped with run-flats do not carry a spare wheel and tire, which means they don't have a jack or tools either. In fact, eliminating the spare tire and reallocating that space to some other purpose (styling, a third-row seat, interior room, etc.) is a big reason why carmakers offer run-flats.

Reduced tread wear: A 2013 study by J.D. Power found that people replaced their run-flat tires an average of 6,000 miles sooner than owners using conventional tires. Opinions differ on the reason, but one theory is that tiremakers put a soft tread compound on a run-flat tire to counter the hard ride. A side effect of the softer compound is a shorter tread life. Actual data on the longevity of run-flat tires has been hard to find. But according to a 2018 J.D. Power owner survey, owners reported higher overall satisfaction with run-flat tires. They did not lag behind conventional tires in the survey.

Blowouts are still possible: If a driver fails to heed or notice the warnings and drives beyond the zero-pressure range or above the speed limitation, the tire can begin to disintegrate, with the same destabilizing effects. Additionally, if the puncture occurs on the sidewall or if the tire hits a large object, the driver will have to call a tow truck. The J.D. Power study found that "customers with vehicles equipped with run-flat tires are nearly twice as likely as those with vehicles equipped with conventional tires to have to replace a tire due to a flat or blowout."

Hard to tell if it is low on air: A side effect of the stiffer construction is that the sidewalls do not bulge if the air pressure is low. Therefore, it is critical to have a tire pressure monitoring system and check your tire pressure frequently. Otherwise, you'll never know when you have a flat.

Harsher ride: The stiff sidewalls that make a run-flat work also result in a harsher ride. If the vehicle came with run-flat tires from the factory, the automaker usually tunes the suspension to offset the rougher ride.

Cost: Run-flat tires are more expensive to replace. Prices will vary by tire type and purchase location, but it's not uncommon to pay a $40-$65 premium for a run-flat tire. Also, many run-flats cannot be repaired and often need to be replaced in pairs.

Less on-shelf availability: Because run-flats aren't a big-selling tire, drivers shouldn't expect to roll into just any tire shop and buy them. It may be easier to do so in larger cities, but if you're a run-flat user on a road trip and get a flat near a small town, you'll probably have to make a detour to find a suitable new tire. Or worse, you may have to stay overnight, waiting for the tire to be shipped.

Category E ( condemned foreign used tyres): This sets of tyres as been classified condemned/unfit for usage from countries of Origin. They're imported here and sold as toks. Though, if you do a thorough search, you might get one/two that might serve you but it is always an herculean task if you're of high standard and wouldn't compromise. The sellers would most likely convince you to buy from them even if they are obviously bad. Some of this tyres have even been reworked to look catchy to the eyes of unsuspecting buyers. This sets of tyres always come in bundles of 5-6 tyres squizzed together which might have affected the structure of the tyres as regards safety. This act is to enable the importers bring in more tyres at a cheaper clearing cost. Prices could go as low as #4000- #5000 and much more also subject to size. Most local vulcanizers purchase this sets, to be resold to customers who want cheap tyres. You might end up changing tyres every 2-3months, and if unlucky tyres might burst on highway due to weakness

CATEGORY D (grade B high quality foreign used tyres): This share similarities with category C but will not serve as much as it. Major reason is in the thread marks. While category C do come in full thread marks that will last very long, category D comes in average conditions. You'll get a handful of this as toks grade A in the market but they're not it. Prices are cheaper when compared to category C and you could get them for as low as #7000 - #8000 and much more subject to tire size.

CATEGORY C ( grade A high quality foreign used tyres): Now here's the thing, I understand a lot of people especially above average folks believe anything foreign used are condemned or things that are of no more value to the user overseas, you're so wrong Sir/ma. This category of tyres are high quality tyres, some can even be mistaken for category A tyres if washed and packaged. Some resellers even pratice this act to unsuspecting members of the public. Truth is, this category will give you the value or close to the value category A tyre offers though a cheaper option. Prices could be as low as #10,000 also subject to sizes. This sets of tyres mostly come in sets of 4 or 5( including spare). They are usually bought from vehicle owners who wants to sell their cars for parts. They come in rims too, but the rims are removed and sold separately overhere. You can never go wrong with this category
Car TalkRe: Stop Being Penny Wise Pound Foolish! by emmancecute(op): 12:36am On May 28, 2021
CATEGORY B (Lower quality brand new tyres): To be able to meet the demands of vehicle users who can't afford the prices of category A, importers tend to compromise on quality of materials and bring in tyres that are cheaper in prices. Yes, they might do the job too, but I bet you they won't be as durable as the former. Thread wear would happen faster and tyres could get damaged easily on a bad road. Prices could vary from #20000- #25,000 for the lowest sizes. Now, here's the thing, if it ought to take you 24months depending on usage though to replace category A tyres, know that you will might be replacing category B in 12 months or thereabout also subject to usage. By so doing, it would have cost you more on the long run. That's if you don't have tyre burst on the highway, hence putting your life in danger.

When it comes to your safety on the road, 3 factors account for that.
1. Your driving habit/decisions on the road
2. Other road user driving habit/decisions.
3. Your tyres, which is the reason for this article.
Your tyres are the connection between your vehicle and the road, hence why the decision you take while purchasing it might make/mar you.
From my experience, there are 5 classes of tyres in Nigeria according to their prices and value.
CATEGORY A (High quality brand new tyres): This are the best form of tyres to go for if you can afford it, though our country's current economic situation makes it difficult for most vehicle users to afford them. Most of this tyres come from reputable brands and are usually made from countries perceived to have high standards of production. The prices of this class of tyres could be as much as #40,000 - #45,000 per unit for the lowest and much more subject to the size of the tyre.
