This has happened to me before.

my girlfriend normally use different photos of different guys as her dp . Anytime I ask her why she will tell me they are just friends and she continues to that. One day, I downloaded beautiful and sexy photos of different girls from internet, I even use insta save application to save some photos of beautiful girls I have as friend on Instagram.
Later I started using them as my dp and will write "FRIENDS FOR LIFE".

she then started to complain that she is not comfortable with those pictures am using as my dp but I told her we are just friends and when you were uploading yours I didn't complain.

That's how she stopped using another guys picture as her dp even her brothers and cousins photo she don't upload again.

Everyone using the word plagiarism as though he was the first person to have plagiarized someone's work.. Back then in I can at least point like two lecturers who plagiarized people's work hence its not a new trend. The only negavity there is that it's coming from the presidency.

I know a lecturer that lost his PhD honor due to he plagiarised his masters thesis in university of Salford (England) during my days there.

Nigeria is corrupt and that doesn't mean whatever you do here u carry it to another country.... you don't know where you will be tomorrow.

Finally, there is a way to search online if the sentence you want yo use has been used or authored by someone. I don't know what Nigerians lecturers do teach here but during my schooling days in university of Salford, we were taught how to search online to know if someone already owns that sentence you want to use in your project or speech.

All you need to do is to rephrase the sentence totally or reference the persons name if you are the lazy type.
Academically, plagiarism is a worst offense than malpractice.
Reason:: even if they finds out 10yrs later that you are guilty of plagiarism, you will be stripped off any degree you have whether PhD or professorship.

I don't think it's the President's fault that his speech was copied from that of Obama because that speech was entrusted to someone to write it. Hardly you see any President that write his/her speech. That aide of a guy deliberately wanted the President to be embarrassed. He sure knows what plagiarism is. If I was the President, I'll make sure I embarrass him too. I hate incompetence. He should have told Buhari that he won't be able to handle the task rather than causing him embarrassment.
