Marula:1. yes you can start with N500k 2. IBTC or FBN (my opinion) 3. for primary auction within the week of deal date. That means you can do so before 16th May for next primary auction 4. Mutual fund and Tbills are actually same in principle. in mutual funds, you are pulling funds together with other investors through fund managers to buy TBills. |
casted81:complete the form online or download it, complete and send back to them here is the link https://www.stanbicibtcassetmanagement.com/nigeriaassetmanagers/personal/Mutual-Funds/SIBTC-Money-Market-Fund |
eddyakinrinde:No worries |
eddyakinrinde:Please read his note well. He said 3 months ie a quarter. Don't forget MMF always pay per quarter even if interest is earned daily and you also know all rates quoted are always annual not daily or monthly. Thank you. |
Trone:My advice: Do more MMF or Treasury bill their rates are better than FGN saving bond. Anything equity has risk attached. If you are ready to take the risk it's cool. Also note returns on equity fund depends largely on stocks performance on the NSE. |

RolD:interest added at end of 3 months you only earn interest each day it's not added to principal. However if you decide to pull out before the end of a quarter your interest and principal will be paid to you. otherwise it can only be part of principal and yield interest after each quarter. T = 1year if 365days = 1year 1 day = 1year/365 charges varies from house to house. There is definitely charges. From experience you are most likely going to get a little less than what is quoted for some firms. NB: For stanbic. they have a different system from other houses. They don't wait till end of quarter before re-investing. You can contact their customer care for clarification on that. The above explanation is for Investment one I represent. I think it's same for others apart from stanbic. |
RolD:No special calculation. Each day is simple interest: P*R*T/100 then divide by 365 gives the interest for that day. However the principal changes to a new value when you add more funds or after each quarter where your accumulated interest for the 3 months is added to your principal if you choose the re-invest option. |
will007:I use investment one. the differences must times with investment houses are services and investor's taste or interest rate. otherwise all MMF operates with same principle basically. |
ukay2:1. check your old dividend warrant you will see the account number 2. If you have your certificates original or photocopy the account number will be there 3. Go to the registrar of the company you will have it and in that case you wouldn't even need the bank anymore you can as well submit your mandate with them even without the number. They will take of it. |
Pascal2016:Go with the bank rate it's safer. |

Note that your daily interest is not paid out daily. interest is earned daily but it's paid quarterly. If you choose the reinvest option, it's also reinvested at the end of the quarter. Hence n you will will always see accrued interest in your account during every quarter. it's accrued interest that becomes payable interest. The only time your accrued interest becomes payable before end of a quarter is when you decide to pull out. at that point your capital and accrued interest will be paid immediately. I hope this help |
luckyjacob:To invest in MMF you don't have to be a customer of IBTC Bank. Any bank you are using presently is ok. Just get the forms complete them and submit with the kyc required. if you are in VI you can walk into their office complete the form and pay deposit with your ATM card that is all. |
emmas2k570:Your interest will count. I had similar experience. I send mail see their reply: Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback. Our sincere apologies for any inconveniences experienced. chufor:What Yem0350 is saying is this: That 5k you deposit will gain the day interest, then the same 5k will get interest the next day that is how the 5k continue to gain interest each day till 31st of March. then if you pick reinvest interest as an option then by 1st of April all the accumulated interest will be reinvested. let's say the accumulated interest was 1k. it means by 1st April till 30th of June you be getting interest on 6k daily. That is how it continues till the day you wish to liquidate. |
emmas2k570:I'm with Investment one. Naturally I will advice you to come with us. However MMF are basically operating with same principles. The difference as you noted is in rate, and customer service |
brane:Read all you need to know here: https://www.stanbicibtcassetmanagement.com/nigeriaassetmanagers/Business/Mutual-funds |
fash78:Basically must of the mutual funds are named base on their asset allocation. depends on your choice and level of risk tolerance you can invest in any. check any of the investment outfit or banks sites - Investment one, IBTC, FBN Quest, Zenith etc the funds are described. Considering the fact you are new. I will advice you to start with MMF with very little or no risk. When you have gathered experience and adequate knowledge you can do a more riskier investment options |

chufor:Yes. Any interest gained is paid to you in full or re-invested base on your choice without any tax. |
austine4real:That is very unusual. Accounts are open in a matter of hours immediately you complete the form online. However, you can call Adeola 08129921093 or Nnamdi 08129921073 |
234ng44uk:Investment one is doing very well. currently rate for MMF is 13.41% source: http://fman.com.ng/mutual-fund-price-list/# |
amaham:Just do a normal Transfer to their account and upload evidence of transfer on the web portal. That is always my method and works well. |
C505:I want to believe this is IBTC MMF account. Note that IBTC has since changed the way it handles interest accumulation and re-investment. Not as straight forward as other MMF. With the little I understand, when you see the subscription for a particular day, it does not mean all the accumulated interest for all days before that day. Interest accumulates daily but are reinvested according to their new system which I myself still trying to understand. If you check very well. You will notice that interest accumulate but the re-investment is done in bits. you may accumulate say N2,500 between Jan 1 to Feb 10 and they may decide to invest N520 on the 10th of Feb base on their new system. So don't worry too much it's their way. However, you can call their customer service to explain to you how their system works in terms of accrued interest and investment of interest. I hope this help |
