Hello house, please i would like to know how the stanbic mmf penalty works. For instance, if I had say (x Naira) which had been in my account for over a month and did an additional subscription of say (y Naira) on 18th of sept. if I then request for all of my investment on 30th of sept which is less than 30 days, would i be penalized for all of my investment(x+y Naira) or only (y Naira) or interest accrued on (Y Naira) or interest accrued on (x+y Naira). I choose the option of reinvesting interest. Please help. Thanks

When you decide to redeem under IBTC MMF, the system will show you clearly redeemable funds with penalty and redeemable funds without penalty.

What is happening to Stanbic, they hardly declare this month, I only have 3 interest added 5th, 9th and 12th Sept.

Stanbic is ok.
Note that interest accrue daily but reinvesting the interest is not. It's base on their unique system which is quite different from others. You can place a call through to their customer care for more clarity on that.

Login to your account and click redeem and follow through. There will be penalty since your money was not kept in the fund for 30 days. It's the usual practice with MMF Managers. However, the rate of the penalty may differ.

Note that investing in Mutual funds and operating a business are two different money growing windows and each serves its purpose hence you hear such slogans in investment environments "spread your risk" The usual thing is: low risk low returns and vice versa. Even in business. All businesses carry their risks and with different level of returns. The usual safe practice is to venture into an investment that your risk appetite can take.

Let's assume the rate is 12%. Interest for one day = 500,0000*12*1/100*365 which gives you N164.38
ie simple interest divided by 365 days

You can get credited on (Thursday) same day all things being equal.

I visited one Stanbic bank around lastweek for MMF registration, due to the limit placed on the online platform. since then I've not gotten any response from them. and my schedule doesn't permit me to visit the bank anyhow. pls is this normal? how long does the registration process takes?

I have said it on this thread before. Stop equating stanbic IBTC bank and IBTC Asset Mgt. They are only in the same group operation wise and priorities differ. If you want to do MMF go direct to IBTC Asset Mgt. Though they could help in the Bank to link you up but it's not a priority. So don't expect the same service. It's like you go to IBTC Asset Mgt asking them to open a savings acct for you. They will just assist but you can get the same service as in when you go to the right place. Be well guided.

No worries. You made a good choice to start investing in mmf. You will not regret your decision. Try and increase and enlarge your investment horizon as your income increases, but beware of ponzi schemes.

So what are you expecting today by this time? Bros take it easy. Everything is in order. check your account much later today or tomorrow you will see your money and the accrued interest as par the rate you were told. Please read more on mmf on this thread or other websites to know how things operate.

That is the process anytime you wish to redeem your funds. You can click on the option for the secret question to be sent to your email box. it will be sent in few seconds.

The last one was a week ago - 31/07/2019. the next one will be next week all things being equal. Primary auction is done fortnightly as you already know.
