Before you ask for advice you need to give more information like : what is your investment objective. what is your risk tolerance level, what type of fund are you talking about? is it equity based or money market instrument based? Actually both shares and funds are good but it all depends on your objective of investing. both are different methods of doing the same thing (investing ) with different risk levels. you can contact emmaowes@yahoo.com.

All you need is to open a cscs account with a stockbroking firm for your Dad. Investment one, csl, cashcraft, leadcapital are few examples you can PICK the necessary forms for your dad If he is the type that can not go himself, attached the usual kyc requirements - utility bill, means of id. then you need to take all the physical certificates to the stockbroking firm after the account is opened for verification and then with the stocks in the cscs you can do whatever with it - sale and get your money, trade or keep.
email me if you need further clarification. emmaowes@yahoo.com

Aumok, what you need to do is contact Africa Prudential Registrars at Ikorodu Road Palmgroove. Go along with your means of ID and you will need a stockbroker if you don't have. everything will be sorted out. also all your dividend will be paid except the dividend that is more than 12yrs old. I did such for one of my clients in 2013 and it was successful. you can PM me if you need further assistance emmasoft@hotmail.com

Dividend will not be taxed if it's paid from retained earnings ie profit that was already taxed as at the time it was declared e.g Flour mill. Same goes for companies that are undergoing serious expansion/capital intensive projects and as a way of incentive the authorities in charge will give the company some tax holiday e.g Nestle

For Morgan capital, once you complete the account opening form with the necessary kyc documents attached, your account is opened. you can now deposit whatever amount you have for your investment. NB: an annual fee of N2,500 will be debited from whatever amount you deposited for the online access.
