I really appreciate your response but what the your suggestion for home ties?

Can I add my siblings Birth certificates?

What are the impacts of police report on my application? Secondly, where can I make a standard police report? Will I just go to any police station or headquarter for it?

I am not in Lagos.

Justwise
Urw learn&obey, ur siblings birth certificates or bio data page of international passports, lands & shares properties of urself, parents or if possible ur siblings. I guess the best place to get the police clearance is at Alagbon Lagos. I hope this would help

I hope this will encourage someone:

22nd Sept - Submitted online application
3rd October - Invited for medical
15th October - Did medical at IOM Abuja
21st October - Medical Passed
Waited to 6 weeks. One of the longest waiting time of my life
29th November - Biometric correspondence letter
30th November - Original Passport request
3rd December - Submitted passport at VFS Abuja
18th December - Correspondence letter
19th December - Passport ready for collection

Document Submitted
Apart from the normal compulsory document, i also submitted:
- Proof of financial support: 9.2m, self sponsor, 4 months
- My pension scheme financial contribution for 6 months
- Letter of Introduction from the company i work with stating that i work with them and have worked for certain number of years. The letter didn't state that i was going to school.
- Statement of purpose: I hadn't joined nairaland before i submitted my application. So, my SOP was purely from my own thoughts. It was a 1 and half page SOP. I just stated why i wanted to study in canada and why i wanted to study Electrical and Computer engineering. Last year, I was denied visa because of insufficient fund. This year, i applied to another school with a lower tuition fees. I also stated it in my SOP why i was moving from school A to school B and why i believe that i could get better quality of education in school B. Seriously, I don't believe in exchanging SOP's from one person to another. Before you know it, we are all writing similar thing and grammar to VO's. Remember plagiarism is not tolerated over there. Just sit down and get your unique SOP. Give me the guidline and let me develop it myself. Well, this is purely my idea. i stand to be corrected
- Landed Property: Well, i bought one of those village lands in Abuja without CofO. I just attached the letter of agreement from the village chief.

Document not submitted
- Police report
- Tuition fee receipt. I haven't paid tuition fees yet

Finally, Pray, pray and pray. Then, crown it with thanksgiving. We can't thank Him enough but we can thank Him some more. For me, this is the most important thing.

I hope this helps.

Merry Christmas & congratulations to you unchee. Pls... I would like to know if you have previous travel histories

9. Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offense?
10. Do you suffer from a serious medical condition?

The rate at which paper route applications are being refused in the past 3 months is alarming. It is more than 90% refusal from those VO in Kenya and almost the same generic reasons ticked for everyone. So don't feel bad about the outcome of your application but try to re-strategise and re-fire. You may order for your GCMS note for more information on the reasons for your refusal.

Did you write SOP/LOE in your refused application? If you did or didn't, in this new application I will advice you write it to address the VO concerns and also present yourself as a geniune student that will return back to Nigeria after your study. Link your first degree with your intended program, talk about your work experience and why you need this program at this time in your career. What are your employment prospects back in Nigeria after your study in Canada. Why did you choose Canada and the school for your intended program and not undertake such program in Nigeria (your goals and expectations). Talk about your home ties and assets in Nigeria, your travel history (Include documents as evidence of whatever you claim to have or wherever you have traveled to). Also, you need to explain why your sponsor decides to sponsor you, what would he/she gain from paying such amount for your education? Your sponsor needs to write a convincing letter too explaining his/her decision to sponsor you, how many dependant does he/she has? his/her source of income and proof of financial capability. Affidavit of support is adviceable too if your sponsor is not your immediate family member. You need proof of relationship with your sponsor.

-Insufficient funds: How many years is your program? As a self sponsor you need to show funds in your account that would be enough for your tuituon fee and living expenses for the entire duration of your program. I will advice you let your co-sponsor transfer into your account whatever amount he/she would be sponsoring you with. Also, if there is any lump sum of money in your account before printing your statement of account try to explain the source and reason for the funds in your LOE. If you can work on this the issue of insufficeint funds will disappear.

-Travel History: A lot of people have gotten their visa without having traveled before and moreseo, I have not come across of anyone refused mainly because of travel history. So, this is not a serious issue. All you should do is to just mentioned it in your LOE that you have traveled to which ever countries you went to and add your schengen visa stamp page to your application.

-Purpose of visit: As I said above, try to link your first degree to your work experience and to your intended program in Canada (dont assume the VO would know they are related). What are the reasons going for this program in Canada and not in Nigeria? What are your goals and expectations going for your program? Justify your true intention is to study alone and return back to Nigeria to add value to your country.

-Employment prospect in country of residense: Having risen to the level of a manager, you need to emphasis on what opportunities await you in Nigeria after your program. What are your plans in Nigeria upon return? How do you intend to offset the huge sum spent on your education in Canada? How lucrative is your job? Just proof to the VO there are lots of Job prospects in your field in Nigeria. If your company do grant study leave and your program is not more than a year I will advice you request for one and add it in your next application. But most importantly convince the VO there are opportunities waiting for you in Nigeria after your study.

-Personal assets and financial status: Your salary statement of account, pay slips, pension, landed properties and any other assets you have in your name would do. You can include anyone you jointly own with your wife too if there is any.

Note: All I have written are just my own opinion and what I personally think you should work more on. I am not a guru and not even gotten my visa. I am a learner too and I am just trying to help sharing with you the little I have gained in this forum. Cheers!

Good day all.

First I want to thank everyone that has been contributing to this forum. You all are well appreciated.

I just got my medical call up, after applying a second time for a student visa. I believe we will all get to the finish line with reasons to celebrate.

In my previous application, I ensured I ticked all the boxes required. I had one yr tuition paid, had the required amount in my dom acc, provided my sponsors supporting docs, bank statement etc. Wrote a good enough SOP and also provided land doc gifted to me as “home tie” but unfortunately I was denied based on home ties, travel history and purpose of visit. I didn’t request for my GCMS note, because I didn’t have the time.

In my follow up application the docs I changed were both my bank statement and that of my sponsor to reflect current balance and a new SOP.

In my SOP I highlighted the reasons why I was denied in my previous application and I addressed each accordingly. I think it’s very important to point out valid reasons why you are going for your program and what you intend to do afterwards. Also point out why it took this long to take a decision to study overseas, how you’ve been of assistance to your family here no matter how little and how you look forward to coming back home to do more for both your family and society.

I should also mention that I wrote to CIC during my wait period for update. You won’t blame me, it was over 3months that I had applied.

Lastly, I trusted God to have his way no matter the outcome.

I have booked my Medicals. Next will be looking up tickets ( the prices are scary, MUST I BOOK ROUND TRIP ? )

Best regards
Congratulations to you, it ended in praise, go and make us proud . I would like to know how you addressed the issue of Travel history

Hello Nairalanders,

I want to encourage you with Esther 6 vs 1-3. ''On that night the king could not sleep. And he gave orders to bring the book of memorable deeds, the chronicles, and they were read before the king.''.

I decree that a book of remembrance is opened upon our Canada visa applications this morning.

For each and every person who's timeline has elapsed and it seems that we have been forgotten, that the visa officers responsible for our applications will lose sleep until they have attended to and until our applications are favored, and our approvals are granted in the mighty name of Jesus.

vs 3, ''And the king said, “What honor or distinction has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?” The king’s young men who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.”

I decree that our applications right from this moment begin to receive priority and that the entire host of heaven begins to fast track it in the mighty name of Jesus.

Just as the King lost sleep until Mordecai was rewarded, as we have prayed, fasted, waited on God, I hereby decree by the power invested in me as a daughter of the most high God, that all the visa officers and staff responsible for all applications that have exceeded processing times begin to lose sleep until we are favored in the mighty name of Jesus. They will all not rest until they have done the will of God concerning our applications in Jesus name.

..... and the house shouts a thunderous AMEN!!!.

Have a miracle-filled week in Jesus name. Amen.

goingforward.
Amen IJN

I believe the requirements would have been listed in this thread at some point but if you can't find it, you can check the VFS website for all the information you need.
Also, yes, you can apply for it by yourself. I recently did and just got my visa (after 8 working days). Read through the thread for advice, find the documents you need and go for it.

As for the yellow card, previously, you could just go to any Port Health office to get one but I heard that has changed now. You need to register online, pay for it (N2,000) before going to the office.

Hope this helps...
thanks I really appreciate your response to my enquiry, May God bless you sir/Madam

Long post.

God has been faithful to me this year.here is my little story.

It all started last yr after graduating from Uni, i was thinking of d next step to take. traveling abroad has been a dream for me and it seems study visa is d best way to migrate to anoda country at least for my level.

So i started making my research on how to study in various countries like the England, Scotland, wales, canada etc. due to d high tuition fee in the UK nd their policy of students returning home immediately after studies, i just cancelled UK from my list den i focused more on Canada. luckily for me i got a school, i applied and i was given admission this yr February 9th. I also stumbled on this wonderful thread which really helped me tru my application process.

so, on March 6 this yr i applied tru paper route, i try my very best to put in a good application with the help i got here, unfortunately i got a rejection mail on the 29th of march. From d Nairobi DEMONS. stating their normal (they are not satisfied wit my travel history, purpose of visit).

I was really devastated, Immediately i order for my GCMS note to really knw the reasons for my refusal,i got d note bt it seems it is still d same reasons.

I was planning to re-apply again with more force. then a guy posted on this thread how he got Germany study visa. after several rejection from Canada, his testimony really got my attention, den i started following up the German thread from d previous part. so i was very lucky so many schools wer still up for winter ( which is oct) application, so i applied to 4 schools in Germany. (may 27th)

Well i don't want to miss out this year o. then in June 11 i got my first admission from one of the schools i applied, immediately, i book for interview in d German consulate and i got Aug 16th as my interview date.

In June 14th i submitted a second application in Canada, this tym tru online route. did my biometric on d 22nd of June, den i started to wait ooooooo. I waited August 16th came, i went for my German interview nd it was so so successful. well i was till hoping on cic to update me but nothing came up.

By September 5th, i got approval mail from th German embassy without funding my block account. then i say to myself God really want me to go to Germany o. i was still waiting for for cic to update me but nothing came up.

well to cut the long story short, i later funded my block account and my Germany student visa was issued.

i was not happy the way canada handle their applications,i hav to apply for withdrawal from cic last week but i haven't still here from them.

So d good news is that i will b going to Germany very soon.

while my cic is still processing only God knw wen those pipo go make decision, lol.

While i posted this long story, is to encourage many of people here, who hav gotten rejection from cic mostly from d Nairobi *D*. plz don't giv up on ur dream of traveling abroad for studies. try nd search oda countries u might b lucky.

so many pipo hav applied to cic more than 3 times and still get rejected, even after putting in a very nice application.

don't give up.

I am very grateful to dat guy who posted his testimony here which gave me d idea abt Germany.

i posted this here to encourage sum1 in this thread.

When one door closes, well dat is not d ryt door.

bliv me they are so many things bhind my success story but d key factor is dat tru out d process from the beginning of diz year i hav been praying so so hard, and thank God it ended in praise.

thanks to all d ogas
Frankrobben, jYunwa. mekano nd d rest. u guys hav really been helpful. make God grant u ur heart desires.

It is my prayer that those still waiting for cic, will get a positive reply.

God bless you all.
congratulations go and make us proud In Germany

Thank you boss for the wishes.

Simply create a GC key account username and password and continue an application to come to Canada. You will be promoted to create security questions and answers, which will take you to the online questionnaire. The process is simple and straight forward. Once you're done with this you will be redirected to a section where you will be required to upload all documents in their various sections.

You should see a typical of the below on your online dashboard when you begin the process.

Application for study permit made outside of Canada (IMM1294) (required) - Complete, save and Upload the study permit form.

Passport (required) - Upload your international passport.

Letter of Acceptance (required) - Upload your letter of acceptance from the school.

Proof of means of financial support - Upload your Sponsorship letter, Affidavit of support, bank statements, payslips, sponsor's source of income (like- employment letters, introduction letters from employer, promotions letter etc.) or bussines documents (CAC certificates, tax clearance certificate, article of association and memorandum etc..) Also, include your already paid tuition receipt in this section (if any).

Digital Photo (required) - Upload your Passport Photograph. The passport size should be between 60KB to 240KB and the dimension should be 420X540.

Family Information (IMM5645) (required) - Complete, save and Upload the family form.

Schedule 1- Application for a temporary Resident Visa made outside Canada (IMM5257) (required) - Complete and Upload the form.

Client Information (required) - Upload your SOP/LOE, degree certificates, transcripts, birth certificates, recommendation letters from past and present employers, NYSC discharge papers, your work ID, your employment letters, resume etc... (every supporting documents should be uploaded in this section).

I hope you find the above information useful. Feel free to ask questions.

All the best in your application.
thank you oga Frankrobbn1 for sharing this, I would like to know if it is just the Bio data page of the passport that is expected to be uploaded or every page of the passport.

PLS... my gurus in the house, I need your advice concerning my situation, I have been trying to secure masters admission but it has not come by yet.
I got an offer at Algonquin College ( Mechanical Engineering Technology, 3 Years Advanced Diploma). I am a graduate of Mechanical Engineering, i graduated with second class upper.
My fear is that will the visa officer not say there is no academic progression in my proposed program, also the tuition fees is about $ 16000 CAD for the first year, thus this program wot it considering the high tuition fees.

Your input would go a long way in assisting and guiding me.
