Yeah, my friend ( a nairalander and web developer) called me two days ago and said he checked CIC website with one of his web testing tools and he noticed some activities (updates) going on.
I didn't believe it had anything to with study permit applications, until now.

No, the whole process took 6 weeks.
After flywire refunded, it took around 4 weeks before it reflected.

I don't know what degree you're going for, but I did an application for an undergraduate degree in the university of Saskatchewan and took less than 3 weeks before I got a decision.
You can check their websites to be sure.

Did you pay from your account?
The money is usually sent back to the account it was paid from.

I did a refund for my brother from the University of Winnipeg, it took about 6 weeks before we got the money back.

If you paid from your account, be patient. It will definitely come.

If you did upfront medical, there is a 60% chance of approval.
If not, its a refusal.

Can a tax return alone, be used as proof of availability of finance, in the embassy?

The sponsor is in the USA and he wants to send his tax return instead of a bank statement.

In order to apply to medical school in the US, her first degree has to be a bachelor's degree. That being said, unless she has a parent or sponsor who is extremely wealthy, studying to get a medical degree in the US is extremely expensive. Most Americans cannot afford it and have to take loans. The average debt for a medical graduate is almost $200,000 (https://www.studentdebtrelief.us/news/average-medical-school-debt/). That's minus the loan/debt for the first degree which can range from $24,000 - $50,000. Also, since she will be an international student, she will be eligible for only private loans which have much higher interest rates (note that her tuition as an international student will also be higher). Paying back the loan isn't an easy proposition. My candid advice to her will be to obtain her medical degree from Nigeria (skip NYSC) and then take the USMLE steps exams and apply for her medical residency in the US. That way, she can circumvent having to take such huge loans and the great burden that comes with paying back the loans.

I have a friend who wants to study medicine in the US, but we saw that she can't apply for medicine directly and she needs to study a lower course before going to medical school.
My question is; Should the lower course be a B.Sc degree or a A.S??

May/June/July applicants who did not share their timeline yesterday should endeavour to do that today. This will enable us have a clear direction on how things are going on the CIC homefront. From the profiles shared yesterday it can be deduced that on the average, after 8 weeks people's profiles were changing and reading eligibility of review started and by 10 to 12 weeks medical call and 12 to 14 weeks, a verdict on the application was dished out.

Applied July 26th
Biometrics was done on July 30th
Still on background check.

It depends on your school.
That's why you have to check their admission requirements first.

IERF is also an evaluation agency, just like WES. Plus, I think its thesame process, i.e you have to send in your confirmation of result.
People just prefer WES because they kinda boost your GPA a little, but they cost more.

I did mine in a magistrate court.
Just go to the court and tell them you want to do an affidavit of confirmation of result, they will tell you the process, which is easy.
It shouldn't cost up to N1500

Hello, I am not an MUN applicant but I went through this process last year, when IERF asked me to send my confirmation of result to them for evaluation.

I went to WAEC HQ in Yaba, with an affidavit of confirmation of result, a print out of my WASSCE result and some other things I can't remember now.
It was easy, took about 30 mins.
When I got there, I was charged about 10k for the confirmation of result. After paying, they directed me downstairs to go meet a UPS courier agent whom I paid 9k to, for the courier service (mine was going to the US, I don't know how much it would cost to send to Canada).
It took about 2 days for the confirmation of result to be printed and given to UPS, then about 5 days before it got to the US.

A sponsorship letter is a letter, written by the sponsor, usually containing;
1. Introduction of the sponsor
2. How he intends to fund the applicant (the amount he will provide every year, his business, properties......)
2. The relationship between the applicant and the sponsor
3. The reason for sponsoring the applicant
4. The sponsor can also put in a few good words, like how passionate the applicant is about the course of study.

The affidavit of sponsorship, is the actual declaration of sponsorship, where the sponsor swears to give out a specific amount of money to the applicant. It is usually done in a court.

GCMS note is a case specific note, written by the visa officer when he/she denies an application.
The note contains the exact reasons why the visa officer denies an application

Yes absolutely he has to apply for Canadian visa! He can apply as a transfer student and most of US college credits are honored in Canada, so he doesn’t need to start all over again unlike if he was schooling in Nigeria and seeking to transfer. Be mindful that your friend cannot transfer if he is a junior or a senior( third year or fourth year student). He must finish in the United States if he has gone over his sophomore year (second year). Since he has a student visa there in the United States, he can apply there without returning to Nigeria.
