@all

Is there a passport processing fee involved in submission of passport at vfs office? Apologies if this question has already been answered. I read somewhere on the vfs website that if passport is submitted at same place where biometrics was done, the applicant would not pay transmission fees
Yes, if the passport is submitted at the same place where biometrics was done, then its free. If not, I think you'll have to pay 13k or there about

Hello,

Please sir, what are the documents I'm supposed to upload at the Client Information column.

I'm a first time applicant.
The client information section should contain your personal documents (applicant's documents), starting with your SOP. It should contain your SOP, your academic documents, and the rest.

Then, the financial section contains all your sponsor's documents; letter of introduction, letter of sponsorship, bank statements and the rest.

Please, does this implies that if you have an account statement with less than 10milli (like 2millie or less) you visa is going to be denied?
If the amount in your bank statement will be enough to cover your tuition plus CAD10,000 for your living expenses, you are good to go.

A Little Insight on FUNDS in your account when applying for Visa...

How would you be presenting an account that has 14 Million Balance, and have 3 Credits and 10 debits in 4-6 Months?

This is the target in your SOA,..

Debits...
Credits...

Amount has less effect as so many people tend to teach this idea of dumping cash in an account to be used .

It is very easy to give someone who has 1000Credits, 1200 Debits with a balance of 200k a Visa (Most times if you are the owner of the account).
Because a 200k Balance with such debit and credit wont be less than 3Million Naira for about 4-6 Months of Usage. (i stand Corrected).

My point is, when you are keen about your balance, be worried about the credit and debits too.
This is very wrong!!!!
Will the debits and credits pay for your tuition and fees?

If you can explain the reason for a lump on your account, you're good to go.
I had less than 10 transactions on my sponsor's bank statement and 2 huge lumps. All I had to do was explain how the lumps came about.

Inflow and outflow matters, but the balance matters more.

Get your facts bra!

Congratulations. Pls must your birth certificate (as applicant), and that of your siblings (as home tie) be from National Populations commission with Federal government emblem, or it could be from any Hospital?
National Populations Commission will be better, since its a government agency.

Banks in Nigeria still have a long way to go in terms of customer service. The way a Scotia Bank staff focused on serving me, you would think I was carrying wads of dollars. Plenty freebies and credit card offers.

So end of day one... bank account, phone number and other petty stuff settled. Job hustle starts from Monday.
Hello nahinbdis!
If you haven't got a job yet, you can use online tools like indeed. They give you a list of job openings around you, both skilled and unskilled and part-time and full-time jobs.
Their website for Canada is "ca.indeed.com"
Goodluck!

I was a student of one of the Nigerian universities doing a diploma program. Almost two years into the program, the NUC scrapped diploma programs for universities. I was broken! So I decided to study abroad.

I applied for a visa to study in the US five times within a period of one year!
I couldn't get past the interviews cos I couldn't explain myself to the VO (kind of an introvert).
So I decided to try Canada once and if I didn't get the visa, I would give up any hope left of studying abroad. Fortunately my first application has just been approved.

I have never crossed Nigerian borders. That is, I have no travel history.

Observation:
I'm not a guru, but from my observation spending a lot of time on the US student visa thread and this Canada student visa thread;
The VOs know there is a 70% chance of we not returning to Nigeria after graduation, but they can't deny all applications based on this fact. So they want someone who shows potential of adding something positive to Canada, incase the person doesn't return to his/her country.
They key is just "self-hype". In my SOP, the way I hyped myself, you'ld think I thought Zuckerberg how to code.
(Hype yourself with sense sha)

Note: The above doesn't mean you should neglect saying you will come back to Nigeria. In my SOP, I stated some career opportunities for computer science graduates in Nigeria.

I fasted and prayed too. God did his part and I did mine. Thanks to God.

Special thanks to Frankreubben.
This guy went out of his way to teach me things I didn't know about the visa process. I too go ask am question!.. lol.... Thanks a lot brother.
Thanks to everyone who shared their profile and contributed in one way or the other to this thread.

To the hopefuls, "It shall end in praise!"
