Politics / Re: President Jonathan: Nigeria Will Not Divide Under My Administration by emmyitodo: 9:29am On Aug 26, 2012
Nigerians are too intertwined to think of breaking up the falsed marriage. am sorry for those agitating for schism for the stakes are too high considering the fact that more southerners invest more in the north than the other way round.
No leader will want to dissolve the country during his reign and that means we are stuck.

the idoma's have shown since time immemorial that they are a peaceful people and very accomodating in every respect. there is no folktales or legend that suggested that the idoma people have been involved in any type of war before, be it tribal or religious. being the minority in benue state and sandwiched between major ethnic groups like ibos to the south it is only logical and it have been proven time again that the ebonyians are the aggressors.

thank God their grand scheme to include southern benue into the biafra did not materialize to make idomas their line of defence.

i served in ishiagu in ebonyi state and can tell u first hand the level of clannishment that exist amongs even same community.
the average ibo man is selfish and can pull his neighbor down at the slightest hint of percieved prosperity than theirs.

Any hasty prognosis will suggest some advance state of cognotive disorder within the delirium and hallucinatory category. What is more disturbing is that you are still obstinate and insisting on a 'philosophical' point of view.

It baffles me that inspite of the overwhelming evidence that lawal is culpable in this saga it keeps dragging on without being charged to court.
Why has lawan not returned the money he agreed to have collected for whatever reason he has done so?
Pardon my sense of nationality but nigeria is a lost cause.

NYSC / Re: FG Overrules NYSC On Posting To Troubled States by emmyitodo: 11:29am On Jul 11, 2012
maclatunji: You people don't get it, Nigeria is on the verge of becoming a failed state. If Corp members cannot be posted to any part of this country, then the government has failed. Now, I agree that people should not be posted to crisis-ridden states. However, instead of corp members and their families selfishly seeking to "escape" those states, we must ask the question, what about people living in these troubled states? Don't they deserve to live a normal life? Away from looking out for "our own." What pressure have we put on the Federal Government to secure these people's lives and property.

People like me say this every week on Nairaland and elsewhere, we get labelled "enemies of GEJ". You should put the same pressure and energy that you have put into protesting posting of corp members to troubled states into pushing the government to actively and efficiently protect the lives of all Nigerians irrespective of where they live.

Anything short of this is selfishness and hypocrisy and you should be ashamed of yourself on that account.

you want to rationalise this insensitivity by the government to appear objective and fair right? those that live in those troubled states do so on their on volition, whereas these senarior portray coersion to serve at ones detriment.

Sports / Roger Federer Wins Wimbledon Open by emmyitodo: 10:30pm On Jul 08, 2012
(CNN) -- Roger Federer secured a record-equalling seventh
Wimbledon title to dash the hopes of Andy Murray and a
partisan Centre Court crowd.
Federer made it 17 Grand Slam titles to his name after a two-
and-a-half-year drought and matched the haul of American Pete
Sampras at the All England Club.
The Swiss will return to the top of the world rankings as a result
of his 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4 victory.
For Murray, the first Briton to reach a men's singles final at
Wimbledon in 74 years, it represented his fourth defeat in major
finals, his pain acutely felt by a fervent crowd at Wimbledon.

In as much as what Atiku said are true, i personally dont think he has the moral ground to make such statement. we are all witness to how rapacious he was and he still is.

These avarice want to team up again and insult our sensibility as if we have short memories of their antecedents. washed up mai gworo.

naturally i dont respond to comments raised by forumite cos we are all entitled to our opinions. we can rant and yap all day like our opinions count, but it aint gonna change a thing, atleast not in 9ja. it irks me seriously how alot of us hastily jump to start typing halfwitted comment on the keyboard exposing how coarse grained and crass discourse have degenerated to recently. Beaf is unfortunately progressing along this line.

personally for me music back in the days, say in the nineties was just hip hop or urban music and i know alot of people still do (no disrespect). my love for rock music really took me beyond the normal experience for most music lovers because i have learnt how to play the guitar and feel the emotion, passion and energy put into music.

pls share with us your favorite music genre and what it means to you.
Family / Re: What Makes A Man/woman Responsible by emmyitodo: 9:00pm On Jul 07, 2012
one can be judge to be responsible or otherwise by their actions and inactions.
The way a person dresses, talk, address and judge issues can go a long way to say whether they are responsible or not. it also applies to refusal to act when one is the capacity to avert an unfavorable situation. my tuppence worth though.
