i went to the hospital yesterday for a dr.'s appointment. My doctor asked me the origin of my long a S S first name and i proudly said Nigeria. The first thing the oyinbo said was "Hope you are not the one sending me the constant emails, cause your name looks familiar. To hide my anger, i had to laugh really hard, but all i really wanted to do was smash his head on the table. But when u think of it, its not his fault!
LOL

Finland:
There is no big deal jare. make una shut up!. .Show any country in this world that has an empty prison. Criminal-ism is not only in Nigeria it is everywhere and this kinda things happens everytime in the u.s but when the culprit is a Nigerian it makes an headline. Rubbish!!!
In order to justify the stereotypes however some foolish Nigerians carry unnecessary palava for head smearing the whole country in the process.

question:
Why does Nadal carefully set 2 water bottles at a particular angle during his matches? Does anyone know?
It's a ritual. Many players actually have their method of maintaining a certain consistency. I believe Bjorn Borg never shaved for the time he remained at Wimbledon or maybe I'm confusing him with another player. Some players choose to wear a particular type of jewelry, for others it could be a particular music they listen to before they go out to play or during their practice. Marion Bartoli jumps a little on the baseline before she serves (well the last time I witnessed her match  tongue). A few other players bounce the ball for a very long time before finally serving. Nadal's peculiar habit appears to be the positioning of water bottles, he even does this at minor tournaments. Everyone has their own way of preparing and that's just his way  smiley

harmeenut:
never mind me. I am just gutted being an ardent fan of his. I believe he'll still be around to win 1 or more GS. The signs are there 'cos he is not just receding at a faster rate as he still pushes opponent to the extreme before loosing. I will believe his days are over when he starts loosing in a straight sets in the 1st round.

Good one there for Murray. that's how to wrap up a game before the opponent starts gaining confidence
I know the feeling. I've tried resigning as a Federer fan once before but I could never quite manage that lol. I am a fan of the man himself, I respect him. However it is his methodology I am more drawn to. His style is becoming endangered, he is the last of his kind. He bridges old school with the modern and it's as if he is translating art through tennis, it's like a kinetic portrait I don't know quite how to describe it really, his fluent fluid movements are a joy to watch. Even Nadal confessed that when standing opposite Federer as his opponent he cannot but help to admire his art. He inspired me to play and for that I will forever remain a fan even through the sullen days smiley

Let's appreciate music from our neighboring countries plus it appears Nairaland plays host to a few other Africans and since music is a reflection of culture it will be nice to obtain a certain knowledge from our neighbours via the art of music  cheesy
CultureRe: Why Our English Speaking Brothers Think Cameroon Is A West African Country by emofine(f): 4:35pm On Jun 29, 2011
I'm not necessarily convinced by some of the claims here but to use death as leverage is wrong and disrespectful. Casualties shouldn't be used as a means of scoring points.

Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana GDP Growth Accelerates To 23% by emofine(f): 10:39am On Jun 23, 2011
It is ever intriguing to observe that the strongest lamentations and lambasting of Nigeria excrete from those 'nationals' who do not even reside in the country.

It's as if some people are inwardly afraid that the success of Ghana will somehow inhibit the success of their own nation. Reasonable people will say 'well done' and use such success to motivate them to do better but some choose to dally in self pity and deprecation as if it is the maximum portrayal of 'humility'

Well done Ghana.

I do agree with you. No offence but most naija chicks have no hips and or bottoms. We southern African girls are blessed with hips and big boo.tty  tongue

That's probably part of the mystery why Nigerian men leave their own for other nationals.
But I thought you have solved that "mystery" already. Nigerian men are "marrying Zimbabwean women for papers" remember - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-693456.0.html wink
