As salam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuhu
I disagree with some a lot of parts of what the OP wrote. I wonder how he arrived at this statement.
"There are no Buddhists, Jews, Pagans, Taoists, Houngans, Catholics, Wiccans, Hindus or even Scientologists in ISIS"

While not trying to cast aspersions on his person, I would say it is really hard to say the above is true. The reason is that the end goal of ISIS is to make life unbearable for muslims. Truly, the muslims bear the brunt of these evil acts. Whether it is happening where the muslims are a majority OR a minority, muslims suffer where ISIS is.

We should take responsibility for raising responsible muslims as should other faiths take responsibility for raising responsible citizens. There are sick people in this world who delight at blood shed. They found an outlet in ISIS. Also in the Israeli military killing Palestinians and the Myammar people massacring the Rohingya; and the Rwanda/Burundi people killing, rival tribesmen (for what again?), and the South Africans killing the foreigners in their midst; boko haram killings in Nigeria; American kid/youth murdering people/schoolkids enmasse....... need more?? Listen to the news

I am a muslim, I am saddened by the horror in the world but I will not blame muslims/Islam for it. [
Every soul shall account for its thoughts, speech and deed.
Bravo!!! @bolded, wooooord! No, I wont blame Muslim either.

1,400 years ago, he prophesized that a time would come when nothing would remain of Islam but its name, nothing of the Quran but its word, and that many "Mosques would be splendidly furnished but destitute of guidance" (Mishkatul Masabih). In these latter days, the true spiritual essence of Islam would be lost, and religion, for the most part, would be reduced to a ritualistic compulsion. He foretold that the clergy would be corrupt and be a source of strife during these times.
I love this. Thanks

Op, kindly allow me to rephrase this bolded part.

The prophet (SAW) said:

"A time would come when nothing would remain of Islam but its name.

Nothing would remain of Quran but traces of its writing and

Masajid (plural of masjid) would be grand structured but devoid of guidance.

Ulamahu i:e the religious leaders of the people would be the worst beneath the sky (they would be the center of fitna)"

When i first heard this phrases quoted some years back, my eyes turned red.

Please read yourself again:

AlBaqir:
So, at the last Hajj, he declared "O mankind I have left over above you things that if you adhere to it you will NEVER GO ASTRAY". Is that not salvation?
And this, put them together
AlBaqir:
Then, he decided to write those verbal declarations^ down and probably stamped with his blessed signature. How do we conclude that it was those initial verbal declaration he intended to write down? His blessed statement on his deathbed shed the light: "Bring pen and paper so that I can write for you things that if you follow, you will NEVER GO ASTRAY"
Your first part, you agreed he left things i:e two things, understood to mean Quran and Sunna(Sunni) OR Quran and Al-bayt(Shia) for SALVATION OF MUSLIM UMMAH. So what other thing necessary for SALVATION besides those two things?

Nothing like secret message. Prophet's declarations for pen and paper was public.
Since you said he supposed to write down something NECESSARY for SALVATION but he could not write it down because he was prevented from doing so, that is why Shia hate Umar(RA). So I ask what is that "secret" OTHER THAN {two things he already mentioned at the Arafat} that he was prevented from writing down after asking for "pen and paper"?
Islam › Re: The Islamic Approach To HIV/AIDS by Empiree: 6:33pm On Nov 17, 2015
maclatunji:
THE ISLAMIC APPROACH TO HIV/AIDS (IAA) DEFINED AND EXPLAINED

The operational definition of the Islamic approach to HIV/AIDS includes the following:

1. Believing in Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

This is the first pillar of Islam indicating that an individual recognizes that there is an invisible God who has power over all creation, who is the Most Gracious and Most Merciful and who has given guidance to mankind on how to live on this earth and in the Hereafter. This guidance includes Islamic teachings that promote HIV prevention, treatment, care and support, stigma reduction, and life skills utilization. Some of the verses in the Holy Qur’an which support this include the following:

HQ 10:3.
“Certainly your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and He established Himself on the throne of authority regulating and governing all things. No intercessor can plead with Him except after His leave has been obtained. This is Allah your Lord; therefore, serve Him. Will you not receive this reminder?”

2. Acquiring scientific knowledge about HIV/AIDS
Eliminating or reducing risk of infection requires learning about and understanding the scientific facts about HIV prevention and risk avoidance, and about treatment, care and support of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Allah’s guidance to believers is to read and learn in order to acquire knowledge and education. Holy Qur’an, chapter 96, verses 1-5:

“ Read! In the Name of your Lord who has created all that exists. He has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the most generous who has taught by the pen. He has taught man that which he knew not.”

Hadith:
Anas Ibn Malik relates from the Prophet when he addressed the issue of knowledge in the hadith where he said, “Seeking knowledge is compulsory upon every Muslim and Muslimah,” (Ibn Majah #240, the hadith is Sahih)

3. Making use of relevant Islamic teachings and practices
For example, there is an Islamic teaching in the Holy Qur’an discouraging adultery, which can be a predisposing factor for HIV transmission.

“Do not come near to adultery. For it is a shameful deed and an evil, opening the road to other evils” (Holy Qur’an 17:32).”

This means that people should not indulge in activities that stimulate their sexual desires, which could then lead them to commit adultery. Adultery is a shameful behaviour that may increase risk of HIV infection. Marriage is encouraged but people must have the means to marry including testing for HIV infection as indicated below:

4. Forming partnerships with and making use of religious leaders and their administrative structures.

The Mosque Imams are the major pillars in this partnership. They can deliver AIDS education and counseling to grassroots communities. Islamic guidance in the Holy Qur’an encourages people to form partnerships for promoting good behaviours.
“Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. They are the ones to attain success.”(Holy Qur’an 3:104)

5. Making use of the concept of Jihad Nafs (struggle of the soul against temptation) by each individual to combat AIDS.

In this context, the Jihad on AIDS is about each person’s individual struggle to control their own personal behaviour for the welfare of themselves and their families, as well as each community’s struggle to address the broader context of preventing HIV transmission and to provide care and support to those coping with HIV infection. All Muslims were advised to participate in this Jihad Nafs by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him). He called it the biggest Jihad because it is not easy for anyone to control the tempting desires of his or her soul. Implementation of the first four components of the Islamic approach to HIV/AIDS above is likely to have a limited impact at the community level until a significant proportion of individuals participate in this Jihad.

Hadith: Some troops came back from an expedition and went to see the Messenger of Allah
Sallallahu alayhi wa-salaam. He said: “You have come for the best, from the smaller Jihad (al-jihad al-asghar) to the greater Jihad (al-jihad al-akbar)”. Someone said, “What is the greater jihad?” “The servant’s struggle against his lust” (Mujahadat al-abdi hawah). Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in al-Zuhd al-Kabir (Haydar ed. p. 165 #373 & p. 198 #374)

The enemy in this Jihad is shaitan (satan) and Allah provides guidance on how to handle this enemy.
Holy Qur’an. Al-A’araf – 7:200-206:
If a suggestion from Satan Assail your (mind), seek refuge with Allah: For He hears and knows (All things). Those who fear Allah, When a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! They see (aright)! But their brethren (the evil ones) Plunge them deeper into error, and never relax (their efforts). If you bring them not a revelation, they say: “Why have you not got it together”? Say: “I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: This is (nothing but) Lights from your Lord, and guidance, and Mercy, for any who have faith.” When the Qur’an is read, Listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: That you may receive Mercy. And do you (O reader!) Bring your Lord to remembrance in your (very) soul, with humility and remember without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings; and be not you of those who are unheedful. Those who are near to your Lord disdain not to worship Him: They glorify Him and prostrate before Him.

The assertive tone used is "Lan tadilu" - you will NEVER go astray". Does that sound like "religious advice?"
See, you didnt really say anything.

Let me help you again and keep it simple - @bolded suggests that there is something SO VITAL for SALVATION of the entire Ummah that the prophet(SAW) supposed to write down but he was prevented from doing so according to you.

This statement appears to be in conflict with Maida 3 and 67 quoted earlier. Umar Faruq(RA) quoted to have said "Quran is sufficient for us"

Here is Quran in Sura Lukman ayah 2-3

"These are Verses of the Wise Book,- A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,"

There is no secret or hidden document so vital and necessary for the salvation of Ummah other than Quran. Agree?. And since you agree that Umar(RA) lived and died as a Muslim- all your theory either from Sunni or Shia literature or your own are irrelevant.

You are not God neither are you the prophet. If God or the prophet had issues with Aidha and the other Caliphs, he would not have allowed them to be part of the prophet's close circle neither would he have allowed Aisha marry the prophet. Either way, it is not an issue!!!

A Sheikh once said in his 2001/02 lecture in Sydney Australia. His intelligence analysis based on Quran and Hadith was very correct. He said with respect to "Arab uprising" or "Arab spring", that it was a sinister, domino effect, an event that would culminate the rise of funded fanatics by the very same people who pretend to fight them.

That their atrocities in the name of Islam would be so brutal and would pose "threats" to Israel; and Israel would scream to the world to get rid of "Islamic menace". He gave this lecture long before Arab spring. When Arab uprising finally came about around 2011, i know right there those ahadith he cited are authentic.

Now, here today, folks with indomie brain are screaming 'Islamic terror' pose great threat to humanity. Indeed, that analysis was correct. Yes, there are some cooked up conspiracy theories out there. That dont bother me a bit. But make no mistake, there are bunch of Muslim organizations who condemn this nonsense every time it happens. They are all tired of it. Myself is not left out. Unfortunately, either we protest or condemn this things, it will not stop anything.

Bismillah.

This fallacy about the incident of Calamity of Thursday and the so-called “incident of the pen and paper” is laughable sometimes. It devoids of common sense as well. First, I don't care what's recorded in the so called Suhih books. We need to apply simple logic to neutralize falsehood.

Qu'ran speaks (Verse 5:67):

"O Messenger (Muhammad SAW)! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message. Allah will protect you from mankind. Verily, Allah guides not the people who disbelieve."

And also 5:3

"This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion."

So if prophet(SAW) is commanded to convey the message of his Lord, how on earth would anyone stopped him from delivering the message?. This story of pen, whether in Sunni or Shia literature is nothing but utter rubbish. It just doesnt make any sense. And the Shia go as far as saying that "message" that was necessary for the salvation of the ummah was blocked by a companion. If the message was so vital and was not convey because Umar faruq(RA) blocked the prophet(SAW) from writing down the so called Will, does that mean the prophet did not obey Allah as mentioned in Maida 67 ?. Astagfurllah!

The so called secret, according to Shia is vital for the Ummah salvation. But "secrets" usually relate with Sufism is not. Secrets as many Sufis are fond of has to do with "extended knowledge" or "spiritual growth" of individual NOT general salvation of the Ummah. For instance, Quran does not mention the age of Isa/Musa alaiyim salaam. Different Sufi Shuyuk may come up with their theory. Some may say he's 33, 30 29,80 100 etc. This has nothing to do with our salvation. Spot the difference?.

Vital information needed for SALVATION of Muslims are in the ayat muhkamat (PLAIN & CLEAR) and every muslim understands that, it's SHIRK, - DOS & DONTS. There is nothing secretive in that. I just believe that the Shia propagandists make a big fuss over the so-called “incident of the pen and paper” or what they ominously refer to as “Black Thursday”. The Shia exaggerate about the Hadiths on this topic, and use them as some sort of proof against Umar ibn al-Khattab. However, the truth of the matter is that these claims are nothing but the melodramatic antics of the Ghullat gossipers who seek to make a mountain out of an anthill.

Here is An Overview of the Incident of the Pen and Paper

The Prophet’s last illness before his final departure from this world lasted around two weeks. During this time, the Prophet’s condition gradually deteriorated and he became bedridden. He experienced a high grade fever, severe headaches, and even fainting spells, slipping into and out of consciousness. The so-called “incident of the pen and paper” occurred four days before the Prophet’s death, on a Thursday.

The Prophet asked for a pen and paper in order to write down some religious advice for the Muslims. However, immediately after asking for the pen and paper, the Prophet fainted and became unconscious. While the Prophet lay unconscious, a man got up to get the pen and paper, but Umar ibn al-Khattab called him away from doing that. Umar felt that they should not bother the Prophet by asking him to write down religious advice, but rather they should allow the Prophet to regain consciousness, get some rest, and recuperate. Therefore, Umar said to the other Muslims: “The Prophet is seriously ill and you have the Quran; so the Book of Allah is enough for us.” shocked shocked shocked

Umar ibn al-Khattab thought–and rightfully so–that the request for a pen and paper no longer applied now that the Prophet had fainted. Instead of getting the pen and paper, Umar felt that they should allow the Prophet to rest. However, some of the Sahabah felt that they should get the pen and paper anyways, and that they should implore the Prophet to write for them; these people said: “Bring him (the writing material) so that Allah’s Messenger may write a document for you and you would never go astray after him.” Secret?

Some of the Sahabah felt that they should let the Prophet rest and ask him for religious advice later; others felt that they should have the Prophet write immediately after he came back to consciousness. This led to a dispute amongst the Sahabah, and they began arguing loudly. It was then that the Prophet awoke from his state of unconsciousness, amid loud noises and great clamor. The Prophet had a splitting headache, so this racket upset him greatly. It was due to this loud bickering that the Prophet told those in the room to “go away” and to leave him alone.

" It is amazing how much drama these propagandists can create, and how easily they can misguide people with this fallacy^. The explanation to this event is so simple and straightforward that it is very strange that the Shia do not understand this! All that we must do is ask the Shia to correlate the event to their own lives, which more often than not makes impotent their arguments. Ask a Shia for example if he would tolerate a man cursing his wife, and he would say no; then we wonder why they themselves curse the wife of the Prophet! Likewise, when it comes to the incident of the pen and paper, we ask them to correlate the event to their own lives.

Let us consider the following scenario: a teacher is giving a lesson to his student, and he asks his student to bring a piece of chalk to write with on the chalkboard. But then the teacher faints and collapses. Now tell us: is the student going to walk outside the room to find the piece of chalk? Would any sane person do that? Instead, the student would quickly rush to the teacher’s side, try to resuscitate him, bring him a pillow, raise his legs, etc. Now, when the teacher regains consciousness, would the student immediately thrust the chalk into the teacher’s hand and say “teach us!” Surely not! Instead, the school nurse would be rushed into the room, the teacher would be transported to the medical unit, and the teacher would be given a medical leave for the day in order to rest. Even if the teacher insisted that he was feeling better and that he could resume the lesson, the others would convince the teacher that he should take the day off and rest instead. "

Here is one solid typical example:

In the last days of Ayatollah Khomeini’s final illness which lasted eleven days during which he was hospitalized. His Shia followers emptied out his hospital room and did not trouble him with the concerns of the state. No man was allowed to disturb him or pester him, even though the political situation at the time very much required the input of the country’s leader. How is it then that the Shia would like their Ayatollah Khomeini to be treated with more courtesy than the Prophet of Allah? Surely the Prophet is superior to any Ayatollah, and if the Ayatollah should not be disturbed during his final illness, then surely we are even more cautious with the Prophet of Allah.

To give a simple everyday example, if a man asks his son to give him the T.V. remote, but has a heart attack immediately after saying that, then the son would think that the heart attack takes precedence over and cancels the request for the remote. Instead of giving the remote, the son would rush to his father’s side. Common sense dictates that the Prophet’s request for the pen and paper does not apply any more, as the fact that he fainted takes precedence over that request. If the Prophet was in good health, and asked for a pen and paper but the people refused him, then that situation would be different. But here, the Prophet fainted after his request and that changed the situation altogether.

This is such a straightforward matter that it sometimes boggles the mind how the Shia can create so much outcry over this so-called “incident” of the pen and paper. Anyone who was in Umar ibn al-Khattab’s shoes would have said the same thing as he did, evidenced by the many everyday examples cited above.

Umar’s Concern for the Prophet’s Well-being

During his final illness, the Prophet suffered from severe pain, an intense fever, splitting headaches, and fainting spells. In spite of his medical condition, the Prophet of Allah was an altruistic individual who did not care about himself, but rather his attention was still focused on guiding the Muslim Ummah.

From a medical standpoint, the Prophet was recommended strict bed-rest and a tension free environment. Instead of following this, however, the Prophet was adamant about helping the Muslim Ummah, even if it worsened his own condition. We read:

Despite his illness, the Messenger of Allah was not distracted from his command of Allah and the defense of His religion.

(Tareekh al-Tabari, Vol. 9, p.167)

In the same book, Tabari writes how the Prophet organized military expeditions from his deathbed. There were times in the last few days when the Prophet was barely able to talk but he would still instruct his generals, ordering them on military campaigns against the false prophets (Tulayhah, Musaylimah, etc.) and apostate renegades in Yamaamah, Yemen, etc. Not only did the Prophet provide military instructions, but he also gave religious advice. The Muslims would come to the bedside of the Prophet, asking him for advice, which the Prophet would give despite his intense pain.

Umar ibn al-Khattab was the Prophet’s father-in-law, and as such, he too was very worried about the Prophet’s health and wellbeing, more so than the Prophet was worried about himself. In his final few days, the Prophet was having a difficult time talking, for it caused a great deal of pain to do that. We read:

When the Apostle’s illness became severe, he (i.e. a Sahabi) and the men came down to Medinah and he went into the Apostle(’s house) who was unable to speak. He (the Prophet) began to lift his hand towards heaven and then bring it down upon him, from which he (the Sahabi) knew that he (the Prophet) was blessing him (the Sahabi).

But what you brought up is irrelevant to the borne of contention. Shia are basically muslims. Their hate for the companions does not make any less muslims. It would be wrong to castigate all of them. Bro albaqir, pls refrain from finding faults with our fore bearers. Instead, you should be seeking forgiveness for them, just as is mentioned in suurah Hashr verse 10. Even if it was not a Sahabah, focusing a brother's misdeeds after his death is not good. To what end, I ask bro albaqir. Why not also write about the virtues of Umar(RA) that can also be found in those 'sunni' sources you are citing?

Yet another shallow argument from our shia brother AlBaqir, perhaps you do not know the implications of these your obsessions with finding fault with the 3 Caliphs before Ali (RA). And selectively picking a quranic verse or hadith to support your agenda is just plain deceitful, speaks volume of your person…Allah says:

“Those of you who turned back on the day when the two hosts met it was Satan who caused them to backslide because of some (sins) they had earned. But, Allah indeed has forgiven them. Surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Forbearing.” [Surah Aal ‘Imran 3:155].

Can we all see where Allah (SWT) says he had forgiven those who turned back in the battle of Uhud, as Muslims, when Allah (SWT) says He had forgiven these people, then we do not have the authority to speak ill of these people, no matter what, doing so means we know better than Allah (SWT), and that is automatic doom for such a person. When Allah says He forgives, who the hell is AlBaqir to blame these companions?!

You might claim this is an academic discuss, but that is just a smokescreen, your agenda is quite known.

Let us accept for a moment, that all what you are trying to tell us about these caliphs are true, that they kept fleeing from battle. Then how do you explain these companions (especially Umar) being caliphs before Ali (RA)?! Ali (RA) who is suppose to be the rightful heir, the brave and powerful, the one who loves Allah (SWT) and the Prophet (SAW), the one who is the custodian of knowledge, that he could not fight for his right? Could not fight for Allah’s cause in disgracing these companions who kept fleeing from battle and in your parochial understanding, who usurped the caliphate from him? In what light does these aforementioned portrays Ali (RA)? #Think!

And even after Ali (RA) became the caliph, he did not reverse anything his predecessors did, nor did he make any remarks against their actions, but was full of praise and seeking blessings on them all. for example:

It was narrated that Muhammad Bin Aqeel bin Abu Talib said: Ali made a Sermon to us and he said: O people, Who was the bravest amongst the people? We said: You O Ameer al Mumineen, He(Ali) said: Rather, it is Abu Bakr as- Siddeeq, because on the day of Badr, we built the hut for the Messenger of Allah(saw) then we said: “Who will stand with him so that none of the polytheists will get close to him?” No one stood with him except Abu Bakr, who stood with his sword unsheathed, guarding the Prophet; every time anyone got close to him, Abu Bakr struck him with his sword. I saw the Messenger of Allah(saw), when Quraysh caught hold of him at the Ka’bah and started shaking him and saying: “You are the one who made the gods into one God.” By Allah, no one got close to him except Abu Bakr and at that time Abu Bakr had two braids. He started poking this one and pushing that one, saying: ‘Woe to you! Would you kill a man because he says my Lord is Allah(swt) when he has brought you proof from your Lord?” One of Abu Bakr’s braids was cut off, and ‘Ali said to his companions: I adjure you by Allah, which of the two men was better, the believer of the family of Pharaoh or Abu Bakr?’ The people kept quiet, then ‘Ali said: ‘By Allah, a day in the life of Abu Bakr is better than the believer of the family of Pharaoh; that man conceded his faith, and Allah praised him, but Abu Bakr offered his life and his blood for the sake of Allah.(Al Mustadrak (3/67) He said SAHIH on the condition of Muslim and Imam al Thahabi Agreed with him.) [Ali bin Abi Talib, by Ali Muhammad Sallabi, vol 1, page 170]

Ibn Abbas said: Ali ibn Abi Talib said to me: I do not know of any of the Muhajireen who did not migrate in secret, except Umar ibn al-Khattab. When he decided to migrate, he put on his sword, put his bow over his shoulder, picked up his arrows and carried his stick by his side. He went out to the Ka’bah, where a number of Quraysh were gathered in its courtyard, and he circumambulated the House seven times, at a leisurely pace. Then he went to the circles of people, one by one, and said to them, May your faces become ugly! Allah will only rub these noses in the dust. Whoever wants his mother to be bereft of him and his children to become orphan or his wife to become a widow, let him meet me behind this valley. Ali said: No one followed him except a few of those who were weak and oppressed. He taught them and told them about Islam, then he went on his way. [Saheeh at-Tawtheeq fee seerat al-Farooq, page 30]

Where did you leave these narrations o AlBaqir? Why don’t you emulate Ali (RA)? Why do you always go against the sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) and the ahl-l-bayt? Are you sure you love the Prophet (SAW) and the ahl-l-bayt?!

Other narrations that speaks of the bravery of Umar and his status in Islam are plentiful, examples are as follows:

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (ra) said: “We have been powerful since the time ‘Umar accepted Islam.” [Sahih Bukhari (3684) (3863)]

Abdullah ibn Masood said: We felt a sense of pride when Umar became Muslim, for we could not circumambulate the House(Kaabah) and pray, until Umar became Muslim. When he became Muslim, he fought them until they left us alone. Then we prayed and circumambulated the Kabah.(Fadail Sahabah, 1/344. Isnad Hasan]

Ibn Masood said: Umar’s becoming Muslim was a victory, his migration was help, and his caliphate was a mercy. We could not pray or circumambulate the House (Kabah) until Umar became Muslim. When he became Muslim, he fought them until they left us alone and let us pray.(Ash Shaykhain Abu Bakr wa Umar, page 141)

Suhayb ibn Sinan said: When Umar ibn al-Khattab became Muslim, Islam came out into the open and the call to Islam was made in public. We sat around the Kabah in circles, and we circumambulated the house and settled our scores with those who had persecuted us. We started to hit back.(At-Tabaqat al Kubra, 3/269. Sifat as-Safwah 1/274).

These are but few, there are many more, all scattered in books of hadith and seerah. We do not believe these companions were infallible, they might have committed sins, but we have it on record that Allah (SWT) had forgiven them and granted them His mercy, Allah (SWT) says:

“And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajiroon (the Emigrants from Makkah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madeenah who helped the Muhajiroon) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.” [9:100]

“Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they gave their pledge to you (O Muhammad) under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts and He sent down calmness and tranquility upon them…” [48:18]

Again Allah (SWT) taught us our responsibilities towards the forerunners of Islam, Allah (SWT) says:

“And those who come after them say: ‘Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith, and put not in our hearts any hatred against those who have believed.'” [59:10]

Once you agree these companions of the Prophet (SAW) died as Muslims, and then you still make snide remarks about them, you have gone against the Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet (SAW).

So a quick question AlBaqir? DID UMAR (RA) NOT DIE A MUSLIM?!

Bid'a? this depends on where it is categorized, if it's tagged as part of the deen then it is. Except you can provide evidence and/or precedence for it.
haram? I can't say.
Now you talk sense. You can at least rationalize unlike your brother in the same ideology who quickly termed it bid'ah and haram. No one says it's part of the Deen. It is just one of the many activities that promote islam, strengthens Iman of muslims and brings about non obligatory activity. That's just it.
