3 also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep [a]the species alive on the face of all the earth.

16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.
17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.
20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.
21 And all flesh died that moved on [c]the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath [d]of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.
23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.

THE MESSAGE:

As the rain began to fall, Noah and his family entered the ark, just as God had commanded. The animals followed. The door of the ark was shut, sealing them in safety while the waters of judgment rose outside. For forty days and forty nights, the rain came, covering the earth and destroying all creatures that were not in the ark. In this moment of divine judgment, Noah's faith and obedience yielded results. He trusted God's word and acted upon it, even when the world around him was filled with disbelief and corruption. The ark became a vessel of salvation, preserving Noah, his family, and the animals from the floodwaters. God is a righteous One; He will never allow the righteous to perish with the wicked.

As God saved Noah and his family from the flood, so also He preserved Lot and his family (except his disobedient and worldly-minded wife) before He wiped out Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:25-29). Similarly, He separated the righteous before He ordered the total destruction of the wicked in Ezekiel 9:4-11. The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations (or destruction), and to reserve the unjust to be punished (2 Peter 2:9). The wages of sin is death, if the sinner refuses to repent (Ezekiel 33:1-11). However, God being the merciful One, does not desire that any man should die in sin and face His wrath in judgement. This He demonstrated when He gave His only Son as a substitute for mankind, after the fall in the Garden of Eden. After this, He has reserved a day of punishment for all who refuse the offer of salvation in Christ. Just as Noah trusted God and found refuge in the ark, we too can find safety and salvation in God's promises. In times of trial and judgment, our faith can be our anchor, guiding us through the storms of life.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to trust in Your your promises and find refuge in Your love and salvation. Amen.

Good day my follow Nairalanders.

Everyday, life opens a new chapter of life to us. My own chapter had been opened and and it read... "it time to get married.

In the church I attended, there I met this girl so mature enough to be taken in as a wife. I approach her for the first time and I started asking her out. Seem she knew my intention, she started asking me about my church life, my family, my business and all that not.

To be honest with her, I did my best to answer every question in the language she could understand.

She seems not still satisfied with my account, she sent me this message at about 5am.
Said until I respond to those questions, she won't have anything to do with me again.

I'm truly confused on wether everyone that finds love 💕 really goes through this rigorous question.

And more about her life, she spent almost everyday in church after work. She said if I'm truly serious, I should also be as serious as she is in going and participating in all weekly activities in the church.

Please help, how do I answer this questions, since it the only options she said can bring us together?

Pls run as far as your feet can carry you, pls am begging you, that type of girl as said is NOT FIT FOR MARRIAGE. And as such NOT A CHRISTIAN. Why ask about your bank account and the figures..what's wrong with her faith and believing that God can change things. You may not be wealthy now but having good intentions for marriage can cause God to open windows of Heaven to bless you profusely.
Pls as you called her a girl, she should be called a child. So if both of you marry, you will now spend the rest of your life in church, won't you work?
It will shock you that majority of this kind of girls are agents of darkness in sheep clothing mascurading in churches seeking whom to devour.
Pls seek God's face deeply in prayer and if you can, add fasting to it, surely you will find a woman that truly loves you. Cheers!

17 And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.
18 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
20 Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.

THE MESSAGE:

In our text, God declared His intention to bring a flood that would wipe out all life on earth because of the wickedness of humanity. Despite this decision, we still see God's grace and mercy extended to Noah and his family. Despite the size of the task and the discouragement he likely faced, Noah followed God's commands precisely. The scripture shows the weight of sin and the certainty of divine judgment. God's decision to bring a flood serves as a clear reminder of the consequences of deviating from His path. Despite the size of the task and the mockery he likely faced, Noah obeyed God without question. His absolute submission to God's command, even when it didn't seem reasonable, shows his unwavering faith.

Noah's obedience was not merely a matter of following instructions; it was an act of profound trust in God's plan. Unquestioning obedience means following God's commands without hesitation or doubt, trusting in His wisdom and plans. Noah did not question or seek further explanation; he simply acted on God's word. This level of obedience requires deep faith and trust in God's character and promises. This emphasises the crucial role of obedience in our relationship with God. Until we reach a point in our walk with God where we do not question His divine instructions or take them for granted, just like Noah and Abraham (Genesis 22), we cannot go far with Him. Are you willing to trust God's instructions despite opposition and mockery? Noah's example encourages us to have faith in God's plans and to act in obedience, knowing that His guidance is always for our ultimate good.

PRAYER: Father; help me to follow Your instructions faithfully, even when they seem heavy. Amen.

TOPIC: BUILDING FAITH IN A CHANGING WORLD

8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
9 This is the account of Noah and his family.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence.
12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.
13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
14 So make yourself an ark of cypress[a] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.
15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.[b]
16 Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit[c] high all around.[d] Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks.

THE MESSAGE:

Our text describes a world near destruction, a world consumed by violence and wickedness. Yet, in this state of things, we find Noah, a man who found favour in God's eyes. God chose him to build a large ark to save his family and a remnant of all living creatures, from the impending flood. It was a seemingly impossible task. Noah's faith was demonstrated by his unshaking obedience to God's instructions, even when he could not understand them. The ark was not just a vessel for survival; it was a symbol of hope and a testament to God's promise. Noah's diligent preparation for the coming judgment reminds us to be prepared for the uncertainties of life. In a world filled with despair and destruction, God offered Noah a path to salvation.
The above story highlights God's eternal faithfulness and His commitment to preserving life, even in the face of overwhelming odds. In our rapidly changing world, we often face new challenges and uncertainties.

Noah's story is a powerful reminder that in all situations, we can trust in God's plan. Noah's faith and obedience to God's instructions show us the importance of trusting God's guidance and provision. How can we cultivate a faith like Noah's? How can we prepare ourselves, spiritually and practically, for the uncertainties of life? Are you willing to trust in God's plan and follow His guidance, even when it doesn't make sense? Noah's example encourages us to remain steadfast in our faith, knowing that God is in control and His plans are for our good.

TOPIC: MAN GRIEVED GOD THROUGH DESCENT INTO WICKEDNESS

1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

THE MESSAGE:

Our text paints a dark picture of humanity's descent into wickedness. The "sons of God" intermarried with human women, leading to the birth of the Nephilim - beings of extraordinary strength and a symbol of the increasing corruption on earth. This was a time when humankind began to increase on the earth, and the wickedness of man became great. God observed that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time, leading Him to regret creating mankind. This highlights the devastating impact of sin on human thoughts, choices, and relationships, as a result of turning away from God and living in disobedience. Despite that God created man in His image, God is deeply grieved by their wickedness.

His decision to bring a flood on that generation, demonstrated the seriousness of their sin and the necessity of judgment. Even in the midst of this widespread corruption, God's plan of salvation remained. Noah, a righteous man, would be instrumental in preserving humanity and ushering in a new beginning. As you meditate on this passage, you need to reflect on the state of your own heart. Are there areas in your life where you need to seek God's forgiveness and guidance? Today's meditation is a call to examine your thoughts and actions, and strive to align them with God's will. Seek to live a life that honours God and reflects His love and righteousness.

PRAYER: Father, help me to turn away from wickedness and seek Your forgiveness. Guide me to live to honour You in Jesus' Name. Amen.

13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
16 Jesus went on to say, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
17 At this, some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”
18 They kept asking, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying.”
19 Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me’?
20 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.
21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.

THE MESSAGE:

In our text, Jesus acknowledges that there are many things He still needed to tell His listeners, but they were not ready to bear them yet. He therefore promised His hearers that the Spirit of truth would come and guide them into all truth, revealing what is to come and glorifying Jesus. This passage emphasises the position of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit reveals hidden and mysterious agenda that no power or authority is capable of revealing (verse 15b). A spirit-filled child of God is equipped to tell the people the mind of God without assumption.

In promising the Holy Spirit, Jesus knew that His disciples would face challenges and uncertainties after His departure, so He reassured them that they would not be left alone. The Holy Spirit would be their guide, comforter, and source of truth. In our own lives, we often encounter situations where we feel overwhelmed or unsure of the next steps. Just as the disciples needed the Holy Spirit to understand and navigate their journey, so we too need the Spirit's guidance. The Holy Spirit helps us discern God's will, provides comfort in times of distress, and empowers us to live out our faith. Take a moment today to invite the Holy Spirit into your life. Ask for guidance in areas where you feel uncertain, and for strength to face any challenges. Trust that the Spirit will lead you into all truth and help you glorify Jesus in your daily walk.

PRAYER: Father, help me to rely on the Spirit's guidance and to trust in Your plan for my life. Amen.

This is the written account of Adam’s family line.
When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.
2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”[a] when they were created.
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
5 Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
6 When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father[b] of Enosh.
7 After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
8 Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
9 When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.

THE MESSAGE:

In Genesis 5:1-17, we read about the genealogy from Adam to Mahalalel. The passage details the lifespans of Adam and his descendants. While these figures may seem extraordinary, today, we perceive them as a simple list of names and ages. However, they serve as a reminder of God's original design for humanity. Every name in the list indicates a connection in the chain of faith, a legacy passed down through generations. In these verses, we observe that the original intention of God for humanity is to have abundant life. The long lifespans point to a time when humanity was closer to God and experienced less physical degeneration.

The gradual decrease in lifespans after Adam's fall highlights the impact of sin on our physical well-being. Moreover, a look at these verses shows that each person lived, had children, and then passed away. This cycle reminds us of the shortness of life and the importance of the legacy we leave behind. Adam, created in the image of God, passed on this divine image to his descendants. This lineage is a testament to God's faithfulness and the enduring nature of His promises. It is unfortunate today that the quality of Christianity is decreasing with generations. Old time faith is not being passed down. We also see the quality of life also decreasing. Consider your own life and the legacy you are building. Are you living in a way that reflects God's image and passes on faith to the next generation? Take time today to reflect on how you can strengthen your walk with God and influence those around you positively.

PRAYER: Thank You, Father, for the legacy of faith that has been passed down through generations. Help me to live in a way that honours You and reflects Your love for others. Amen.

52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

*MESSAGE:*

All believers are called to preach the gospel. The command and mandate are for all genuine Christians. Preaching is done, not only in the church, neither is it limited to revival or crusade grounds. It is a task to be carried out wherever and whenever there is opportunity to do so. However, preaching is dangerous and usually ineffective without the power of God which can only be received by being baptised and indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, Jesus in verse 49 of today's reading warned His disciples never to venture into the business of going about to preach without the power. The Holy Spirit fills believers with power and courage to preach (Acts 2:14). He inspires their messages and convinces people of their sin, leading to faith and submission to Christ. The Holy Spirit is the force behind miracles, healing and deliverance.

The presence of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life can manifest through spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues and prophecy. However, caution must be taken not to be caught in the deception of counterfeited tongues and false prophecies. The greatest sign and manifestation of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life is bearing the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22).

THE MESSAGE:

A young man in one of the churches I pastored lamented about the polygamous nature of his father's family which caused a lot of setbacks, conflicts and disunity. He vowed never to become a polygamist. Few years later however, he had a quarrel with his wife and tried to frustrate all efforts towards reconciliation. He consequently set his eyes on strange women who readily made themselves available. Then, I had to remind him that he was already drifting into the dreadful path he vowed never to tread. In verse 23 of today's reading, Lamech became a murderer, like his ancestor, Cain. Negative habits and curses can be inherited from blood lines. We must be watchful. Have you noticed some bad habits of your father, mother or grand-parents manifesting in your life? Do you notice evil experiences in your life which in times past happened to your parents? You need fervent prayer and carefulness.

Good virtues of faith and glory can also be inherited from blood lines. For instance, Isaac and Jacob inherited the faith and blessings of their father, Abraham (Hebrews 11:9&10). Also, Timothy had an inheritance of faith from his mother, Eunice and grand-mother, Lois (II Timothy 1:5). As Christians, we must be prayerful and vigilant to avoid the paths of sin and evil while we strive for and embrace the good inheritance of faith and glory.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father; by the indwelling of Your Holy Spirit, guide me towards the path of righteousness and glory in Jesus' Name. Amen

Murder, kidnaping, robbery, sexual immorality and other acts of wickedness are not new in our world. They have been part of human existence since the fall in the Garden of Eden. Humanity's desire has always been to do evil and the entire human race has been living perpetually under the slavery of sin. This was the condition of Cain's heart, prompting him to become the first murderer in human history. Abel had offered an acceptable sacrifice to God while Cain's was rejected. Out of envy, Cain killed his brother. Our text says that Abel's blood cried to God whose nature of justice would not allow Him to let a sinner go unpunished. Cain's sin brought a curse on him, and the punishment for his sin was severe (Genesis 4:13).

From Cain's time till now, evil and immorality have continued to thrive. It became so unbearable that God, at a point, decided to wipe out the entire creation but spared Noah and his household who later populated the world (Genesis 6:7-. Yet, human desires have always been towards sin. This is what led to the shedding of Jesus' blood. However, in contrast to the blood of Abel, the blood of Christ did not call for vengeance but for redemption and deliverance of mankind from the slavery of sin (Hebrews 9:12-15; 12:24). Therefore, anyone desiring freedom from sin and its consequences of death (Romans 6:23) and eternal damnation, may come to the fountain of the blood and be set free (John 8:36).

PRAYER: Dear Lord, by Your blood, set me free from the guilt and curse of my sin. Amen

THE MESSAGE:

Rogation Monday, like Rogation Sunday, is a time of seeking God's blessing on our land, work, and communities. It reminds us that all we have comes from God, and we must honour Him with our best. Genesis 4:1-5 tells the story of Cain and Abel, two brothers who brought offerings to God. Abel offered the best of his flock, while Cain brought a lesser sacrifice. God accepted Abel's offering but rejected Cain's because it was not given in faith and sincerity. This passage teaches us that God desires not just our work, but our wholehearted devotion.

Are you offering your best to God knowing fully it comes from God? Do you give to God in all sincerity of mind or out of obligation? As we pray for God's provision today, let us also reflect on the quality of our offerings, whether in our labour, worship, or service. Are we giving God our best, or merely what is convenient? True blessings come when we honour God with faith, gratitude, and excellence in all we do. Remember, God does not just bless the work of our hands but the heart behind it.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to honour You with my work and worship, and may my offerings be pleasing in Your sight in Jesus' Name. Amen.

THE MESSAGE:

Rogation Sunday is a time when the Church prays for God's blessing on the land, crops, and labour. It is a reminder of our dependence on God for provision and protection and is observed before the Ascension Day. In John 16:23-33, Jesus reassures His disciples of their direct access to the Father in prayer. He encourages them to ask in His name, promising that God would answer (verses 23-24). As we reflect on Rogation Sunday, we are reminded that God cares for our daily needs and invites us to trust Him with our concerns, whether spiritual or material. Jesus also speaks of the coming trials and challenges His followers would face. Yet, He gives them a message of hope: "In the world, you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (verse 33).

Life's challenges are inevitable, but victory in Jesus Christ is guaranteed. Though our faith may waiver like that of Jesus' disciples, there is a powerful assurance that no matter what difficulties we face, whether in farming, labour, or life in general, Christ's victory is our confidence. No matter the challenges in our career, marriage, ministry, finances, health, etc. We must know that Christ guarantees us victory.

PRAYER: Lord, strengthen my faith and help me trust in Your unfailing care in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”
3 But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”
4 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
5 The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.
6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.

THE MESSAGE:

Exodus 17:1-7 recounts a significant moment for the Israelites during their journey through the wilderness. Faced with the threat of dying from lack of drinking water, they turned to Moses, expressed their anger and questioned God's presence. This passage offers valuable lessons about trust, obedience, and the provision of God. The Israelites, despite experiencing God's miraculous deliverance from Egypt, quickly succumbed to fear and doubt. Their complaints, though understandable, reveal a lack of trust in God's provision. This highlights the human tendency to focus on immediate needs and lose sight of God's faithfulness. However, despite their grumbling, God provided. He instructed Moses to strike a rock, and miraculously, water flowed forth, and quenched the thirst of the people. This act serves as a powerful reminder of God's provision and His unwavering commitment to His people.

How often do we, like the Israelites, allow fear and doubt to cloud our faith? Do we fully trust in God's provision, even when faced with challenging circumstances? This passage challenges us to cultivate a deeper trust in God, to remember His past faithfulness, and to confidently rely on His provision for our present and future needs. Are there areas where you struggle to trust God's provision and care? This passage encourages us to turn to God in prayer, trusting that He will provide for our needs. Just as God provided water from the rock, He can bring solutions and blessings in ways we might not expect.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to trust in Your provision, even when I face uncertainty and fear. Amen.

THE MESSAGE:

The story in our text today proves God as Jehovah Jireh. This is in line with the professed faith of Abraham that “God will provide” (Genesis 28:22), as he was heading to Moriah to sacrifice Isaac, on God's order. Our Lord faithfully provided the people with manna for forty years in the wilderness until they entered the Promised Land. This food was tasty and nutritious and that is why the Israelites solely depended on it for 40 years (Joshua 5:12). The first lesson for us here is that Our God is a covenant-keeping God. Similarly, the Lord graciously provided manna and quail, despite the people's grumbling. This shows how merciful our God is and His readiness to meet our needs without minding our unworthiness. However, we should reciprocate His blessings and provision with obedience.

The Israelites were commanded to keep an omer of manna in the Ark of the Covenant as a lasting reminder of the Lord's gracious provision for their physical needs. In the same vein, Jesus refers to this provision of manna in Exodus 16 to describe Himself as the bread of life. He proved this by feeding the 5,000 people. So, we should put our trust in Him for He will take care of us. Let us, therefore, cast our burden and anxiety on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to put my trust in You and believe that You can meet me at the point of my need. Amen.

THE MESSAGE:

In Exodus 16:27-30, the Israelites' response to God's command about the Sabbath reveals their struggle with obedience. Despite clear instructions to rest and stay away from gathering manna on the 7th day, some still went out to collect it (Exodus 16:27). This act of disobedience showed a lack of trust in God's provision and a disregard for the sanctity of the Sabbath. God responded with a reminder of His purpose in instituting the Sabbath: It was a holy day set apart for rest and worship, demonstrating reliance on Him (Exodus 16:29-30). God reaffirms His desire for His people to honour Him by obeying His commands and embracing His provision for their lives.

Christians are encouraged to honour God through intentional rest and trust in His sufficiency. The Sabbath principle teaches us to pause from our labour and recognise that God is the source of all we need (Psalm 46:10). In a fast-paced world that often glorifies busyness, resting in God becomes an act of faith and worship, acknowledging His lordship over our lives. Obedience to God's commands, including giving priority to rest and worship, deepens our relationship with Him and positions us to experience His peace and blessings (Isaiah 58:13-14).

In a world driven by self-reliance, we are called to recognise that God is our ultimate provider, meeting our needs in His timing and ways (Phil. 4:19). Observing rest and worship, as demonstrated by the Sabbath, allows us to realign our hearts with God and express our trust in His care. By heeding His instructions, we experience His blessings and peace, even in the midst of life's uncertainties.

In John 16:5-22, Jesus prepares His disciples for His imminent departure, assuring them that His going away, was for their benefit. He promises the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who would guide them into all truth (John 16:7, 13). While Jesus acknowledges their sorrow at His departure (John 16:6), He offers hope by likening their grief to the labour pains of a woman giving birth, which turn into joy once the child is born (John 16:21). This analogy emphasizes that their temporary sorrow would result in eternal joy when they see Him again in His resurrected glory (John 16:22). Jesus' words reflect His deep love for His disciples and His desire to prepare them for the transformative power of His resurrection and the Spirit's indwelling.

Christians are reminded that life's challenges often give way to outstanding spiritual joy when we trust in God's purposes. Like the disciples, we may endure seasons of grief and uncertainty, but Jesus assures us of His abiding presence through the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:26-27). This hope empowers us to persevere, knowing that our trials produce lasting joy in Christ (James 1:2-3). As we await His return, we are encouraged to live with the assurance of His victory over sorrow and death (1 Cor. 15:57).

THE MESSAGE:

THE MESSAGE:

In today's passage, Jesus comforts His disciples, revealing Himself as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. This message is particularly significant as we celebrate St. Philip and St. James, two apostles who demonstrated unshaking faith in their discipleship. Philip's question, "Show us the Father" (verse , echoes humanity's deep longing to know God. Jesus responds by affirming His unity with the Father, reminding His followers that to see Him is to see the Father. St. James, often associated with steadfast faith, exemplifies a life fully devoted to Christ's mission. Together, their lives encourage us to remain faithful and trust Jesus as the only path to eternal communion with God.

For Christians today, this passage is a reminder to find assurance and guidance in Jesus, amidst life's uncertainties. Faith in Him anchors us, providing peace and confidence in God's promises. As Jesus empowers His followers to do greater works, we are called to live as witnesses of His truth and love. Like Philip and James, we are invited to deepen our relationship with Christ, trusting Him to lead us in the way of righteousness and to strengthen us for the journey ahead.

9 Then Moses spoke to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, ‘Come near before the Lord, for He has heard your complaints.’ ”
10 Now it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.
11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
12 “I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ”
13 So it was that quail came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp.
14 And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground.
15 So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was.
And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat.
16 This is the thing which the Lord has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ”
17 Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less.
18 So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one’s need.
19 And Moses said, “Let no one leave any of it till morning.”
20 Notwithstanding they did not [b]heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them.
21 So they gathered it every morning, every man according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted.

THE MESSAGE:

After the Israelites finished complaining, Moses responded by reassuring them that God would provide food for them (Exodus 16:. He told them that God would rain down bread from heaven. In the evening, quails also arrived, which the Israelites called "manna" (Exodus 16:13-14,31). Moses finally warned them that God would test their obedience by providing food for six days, with a double portion on the sixth day, and none on the seventh day (Exodus 16:4-5, 29-30). This test would reveal whether they would follow God's instructions.

Beloved, Jesus Christ taught us to pray to God to give us today our daily bread. Just as it was in the case of Israel, God is more than able to provide our needs daily. As long as you continue to obey God's instruction, you will experience His bountiful provisions. We must also be content with God's provision, trusting that He will supply your needs. Are there areas in your life where you are tempted to "store up" more than God has provided, out of fear or lack of trust? Remember that God knows your needs and calls you to trust Him each day. His instructions are for your good, leading to a life of faith, peace, and provision.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for our daily provisions, help me to continually depend on You in times of need in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water.
23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.[a])
24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.
26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

THE MESSAGE:

After celebrating their miraculous deliverance at the Red Sea, the Israelites journeyed into the Wilderness of Shur, where they travelled for three days without finding water (Exodus 15:22). When they finally came to Marah, the people grumbled against Moses, complaining about the lack of drinkable water (Exodus 15:24). This reaction reveals the Israelites' fading trust in God's provision. Moses cried out to God, who showed him a tree to throw into the water to make it sweet and drinkable (Exod. 15:25). The passage concludes with the Israelites arriving at Elim, where they found 12 springs of water and 70 palm trees, providing a refreshing oasis in the desert (Exodus 15:27).

Life often leads us through "wilderness" seasons - times of dryness, need, or hardship. But just as God transformed the bitter water, He can turn our difficulties into blessings when we trust Him. Complaining blinds us to His power, while faith opens our eyes to His provision. Are you facing a season of struggle or disappointment? Instead of focusing on the bitterness, bring your needs to God, and trust that He can turn hardship into strength and provision. Let your trials be moments to grow in faith, knowing God's presence is with you and that He will lead you to places of rest and refreshment.

PRAYER: Lord, forgive my past lack of trust and help me to pray in times of need as I continually rely on Your provision in Jesus' Name. Amen.

20 Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21 And Miriam answered them:
“Sing to the Lord,
For He has triumphed gloriously!
The horse and its rider
He has thrown into the sea!”

THE MESSAGE:

When the Israelites saw that the mighty deliverance God had worked for them through the parting of the Red Sea and that Pharaoh's army had drowned, they sang thus, "Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea" (Exodus 15:19-21). Miriam led the women to praise and celebrate God's faithfulness and power in delivering His people through impossible circumstances. This scene highlights the Israelites' gratitude, worship, and unity in the aftermath of their miraculous rescue. We, too, can respond to God's victories in our lives with gratitude and praise.

Too often, after victory over challenges, we forget to give thanks and remember the One who carried us through. But when we pause to celebrate God's faithfulness, our faith grows, and we draw closer to Him. Praise not only acknowledges what God has done but also strengthens us for future battles, reminding us that He is our constant Deliverer. Take a moment to praise God for His faithfulness and strength for overcoming challenges. Reflect on God's goodness and count your blessings, for He has triumphed over your fears and struggles. As we worship, we proclaim His glory and remind our hearts of His everlasting power.

24 Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He [c]troubled the army of the Egyptians. 25 And He [d]took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”
27 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew[e] the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
28 Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained.

THE MESSAGE:

In today's reading, God demonstrated His power over creation. He also honoured the faith and prophetic declaration of His servant, Moses. In obedience to God's word, Moses stretched forth the rod he had in his hand and instructed the people to move forward, assuring them that the Lord would fight for them while they held their peace. In fact, he prophetically declared to them thus: "The Egyptians you see today, you will see again no more." The flow of water in the Red Sea was interrupted, and the water piled up like walls on both sides and the people of God entered into the highway of the dry floor of the sea. The pursuing enemy's troops followed and were overthrown. Ultimately, the Lord wrought a mighty deliverance for the Israelites. What a mighty God we serve!

As you step out today, the Lord is set to fight for you. What are those things making you afraid? Who is that 'Egyptian' confronting you and wanting to displace you? Are you in a tight financial situation with debts piling up? Is your business or work experiencing dryness? Have you lost your job due to downsizing or retrenchment? Does it look like your marriage is about to collapse? Are you worried over children? Be assured that the Lord has gone ahead and will fight every of your battle. All you need do is to hold your peace and trust Him. It is your season of victory.

PRAYER: Lord, in Your name, I come against everything contending with my life. I will hold my peace and see Your victory in Jesus' name. Amen.

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’
4 Then I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.
5 Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

*MESSAGE:*

God led His people through the route of the Red Sea for a purpose. Note that they were camped and resting when they sighted the Egyptian army pursuing them. They were hedged in by the sea, with Pharaoh and his military might coming after them through the only land route of escape. Pharaoh and his people had a change of mind after the Israelites departed. Pharaoh therefore gathered a great army of 600 choice chariots with captains over them, and pursued them. Naturally, the children of Israel were alarmed at the sight of the Egyptian army, and cried out to the Lord and said to Moses, _"... because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt so with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?..."_ They forgot that the God of the Passover was still their guardian and guide.

follow Him (Psa. 48:14). A hymn writer says, _'Follow, Follow, I will follow Jesus.... everywhere He leads me I will follow Him.'_ Sometimes, the path may seem crooked and rough, but do not turn back; keep trusting that He has a good plan for your life and would not leave you stranded. Instead of murmuring and complaining, be thankful.

19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had placed the children of Israel under solemn oath, saying, “God will surely [a]visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.”
20 So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness.
21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.

THE MESSAGE:

In our text, the Lord led the Israelites through a distant route in the journey to the Promised Land even when there were available shorter routes. The Lord had a purpose in mind - He intended to prepare them for battle so that they would not run away when they saw war. Remember that the Promised Land (i. e. Canaan), was an occupied territory. The Israelites needed to be battle-ready in order to dislodge the occupants of the land of Canaan. More so, as they had been slaves for such a long time, they might run back to Egypt if challenged by war on their way. The angel of God went before them as a Pillar of Cloud during the day, to shield them from the desert heat; and a Pillar of Fire at night, to lighten their way. This enabled them to travel comfortably under shade at day and with light at night.

The marvellous and complete protection and provision of God for us is sure as we journey in this life trusting Him as our God. The Psalmist says, 'God is our refuge and strength, and very present help in trouble.' He assures us of His care and ever abiding presence with us, to make a way and deliver us in all storms of life.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father; I trust in You to shield me from all adversities of life, Amen.

13 But every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. And all the firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.
14 So it shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ that you shall say to him, ‘By strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the Lord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast. Therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all males that open the womb, but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.’
16 It shall be as a sign on your hand and as frontlets between your eyes, for by strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt.”

THE MESSAGE:

In today's Scripture, God told Israel that when they settled in their land, they should set apart for Him, all male firstborn, of man and animal, for they belonged to Him. The Scripture made provision for the redemption of firstborn of donkeys and firstborn of men among the sons of Israel. This, like the Passover, was to be a covenant between God and His chosen people, Israel. When the children asked the reason for this, they were to explain to them the great acts of God in Egypt on the first Passover night, where the first born (man and animal) of the Egyptians, were killed while God redeemed all the firstborns of the Israelites.

God wants believers to honour Him as a demonstration of their trust in Him as their ultimate source and sustainer. When we honour God, we experience amazing and wonderful testimonies of His faithfulness and greater blessings in our lives. Honour the Lord in every aspect of your Christian calling, including giving, and you will be amazed at how the Lord is ever faithful to His word. Remember that the Lord is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 13:5).

PRAYER: Lord, I receive grace to obey Your word and honour You with my substance, Amen.
