TOPIC: GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE
READ: 1 KINGS 10:23-25

23 So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
24 Now all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25 Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.

THE MESSAGE:

King Solomon became so wise and rich that people from all over the earth came to hear his wisdom which God gave him. As they came, they brought to him presents such as vessels of silver and of gold, garments, armour, spices, horses and mules. Solomon's wisdom attracted men and riches to him. Imagine how people including the Queen of Sheba besieged Solomon's house only to hear his wisdom. Today, a King that is greater than Solomon is here (Matthew 12:42). A King that is wiser than Solomon is here. He is Jesus Christ the Wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24).

People who are wise and who want to grow in wisdom, seek Him, hear Him, give to Him, and obey Him. They in turn find wisdom and peace in Him. Have you sought Jesus? Have you been to Him for a cleansing power? Have you received Him in your heart? Have your acknowledged Him as your Lord and Saviour? Though Christ may not now be seen physically today, but you can meet Him daily through reading the bible, praying, attending Church services and fellowship, giving God worthy offerings and sacrifices, and presenting your body as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God. If you do these, surely, you will find wisdom, peace, honour, splendour and riches.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to seek, find and honour You. Amen.

TOPIC: ABUNDANCE OF RAIN
READ: 1 KINGS 10:14-22

14 The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
15 besides that from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the country.
16 And King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.
17 He also made three hundred shields of hammered gold; three minas of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round at the back; there were armrests on either side of the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests.
20 Twelve lions stood there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom.
21 All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.
22 For the king had merchant[a] ships at sea with the fleet of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and [b]monkeys.

THE MESSAGE:

Solomon, the king of Israel, was exceedingly rich. The weight of gold that came to him in a year was 666 talents of gold, plus the gold he got from the traders, spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia and Governors of the country. Solomon's ivory throne was coated with the best gold, and had 6 steps; 12 irons stood there on one side and on the other side. In fact, such a throne was not seen in any other kingdom. Solomon was super rich, super wise and super in majesty. Jesus acknowledged that Solomon was gloriously arrayed, but he added that Solomon in all his glory, was not arrayed like one of the lilies (flowers) of the field (Matthew 6:29). Flowers do not plant or beautify themselves; it is man who toils.

Yet the flowers are more gloriously arrayed than Solomon. Solomon's wisdom and riches did not come by his effort or hard work; they came to him through the grace and generosity of God because Solomon acknowledged God, and asked Him for wisdom to rule Israel.
Today, what is your priority? Jesus says that if we give priority to seeking the kingdom of God and also living righteously, we will have abundance of rain (Matthew 6:33). As you go out today, don't seek wealth by crooked or fraudulent means. Embrace righteousness and quit worrying. God will give you everything that pertains to life and godliness.

PRAYER: Lord, I lay my life before You. Help me to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. Amen.

TOPIC: BE CAREFUL; THESE PEOPLE HATE YOU!
READ: JOHN 15:17-27

17 This is my command: Love each other.
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.
25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’[b]
26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.

THE MESSAGE:

In 2009, a particular religious sect intensified their wicked onslaught against Christians in Nigeria. At a time, they attacked the police headquarters Abuja. Their leaked information after their meeting stated that they hated Jesus Christ, Christians, and the Jews, and they would do everything within their power to wipe out Christians in Nigeria. The world hates Christians because they (world) hated Christ.
The reason for this is because Christians are not of the world, and do not live in sin or practise wickedness. Christianity forbids corruption, fraud, idolatry, cheating, using false weights and measures, etc., but the world loves these vices. Since a disciple is not greater than his master, it means that if the world persecutes Christ, it must also persecute us. Since the world also hates and persecutes, we must be careful to remain righteous. It is better to suffer for righteousness than to suffer as a sinner or as a thief (1 Peter 3:17).

Despite the above, many Christians have been caught stealing in offices, cheating in examinations and interviews, involvement in adultery or fornication, or fighting in homes or offices. Remember, the world will always set a trap for you and wait for your fall so that they can celebrate. You must be careful not to fall into their traps. As for persecution, all that must live godly in Christ Jesus must suffer persecution. (2 Timothy 3:12-13) You must be careful and courageous.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, please save me from the snares of evil men, and help me to endure persecution and hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

TOPIC: YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING!

1.When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions. 2 Arriving at Jerusalem with a very great caravan—with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones—she came to Solomon and talked with him about all that she had on her mind. 3 Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her. 4 When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, 5 the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at[a] the temple of the Lord, she was overwhelmed.
6 She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. 7 But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard. 8 How happy your people must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! 9 Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the Lord’s eternal love for Israel, he has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.”
10 And she gave the king 120 talents[b] of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
11 (Hiram’s ships brought gold from Ophir; and from there they brought great cargoes of almugwood[c] and precious stones. 12 The king used the almugwood to make supports[d] for the temple of the Lord and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. So much almugwood has never been imported or seen since that day.)
13 King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for, besides what he had given her out of his royal bounty. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country.

THE MESSAGE:

What made Solomon great and famous was the wisdom and riches God gave him. The Queen of Sheba while in her own country, heard of the wisdom, fame, splendour and greatness of Solomon, but did not really believe the story. When she came to verify the truth of what she heard, and saw the splendour of Solomon as well as his servants and officials, she was left breathless. Solomon far surpassed his fellow kings. In fact, the Queen of Sheba confessed that even half of Solomon's splendour was not told her.

Solomon acquired wisdom, glory and honour because of his association with God. If you can humble yourself before God, seek His kingdom and live righteously, God can give you life, money, wisdom and honour, much more than you think or imagine. If you love righteousness and hate sin, God will exalt you beyond measure. Again, if you humble yourself under the mighty hands of God, He will exalt you at the proper time. Do your best to lead a life of humility. Trust in God with all your heart; don't depend on your own understanding, and God will direct your path.

PRAYER: Father; please give me a humble heart and help me to seek Uou and live righteously. Amen.

TOPIC: LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP

10 Now it happened at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house
11 (Hiram the king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress and gold, as much as he desired), that King Solomon then gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12 Then Hiram went from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, but they did not please him.
13 So he said, “What kind of cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” And he called them the land of [c]Cabul, as they are to this day.
14 Then Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.
15 And this is the reason for the labor force which King Solomon raised: to build the house of the Lord, his own house, [d]the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer and burned it with fire, had killed the Canaanites who dwelt in the city, and had given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.)
17 And Solomon built Gezer, Lower Beth Horon, 18 Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,
19 all the storage cities that Solomon had, cities for his chariots and cities for his cavalry, and whatever Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20 All the people who were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel—
21 that is, their descendants who were left in the land after them, whom the children of Israel had not been able to destroy completely—from these Solomon raised forced labor, as it is to this day.
22 But of the children of Israel Solomon made no forced laborers, because they were men of war and his servants: his officers, his captains, commanders of his chariots, and his cavalry.
23 Others were chiefs of the officials who were over Solomon’s work: five hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people who did the work.
24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the City of David to her house which [e]Solomon had built for her. Then he built the Millo.
25 Now three times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he had built for the Lord, and he burned incense with them on the altar that was before the Lord. So he finished the temple.
26 King Solomon also built a fleet of ships at Ezion Geber, which is near [f]Elath on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
27 Then Hiram sent his servants with the fleet, seamen who knew the sea, to work with the servants of Solomon.
28 And they went to Ophir, and acquired four hundred and twenty talents of gold from there, and brought it to King Solomon.

THE MESSAGE:

When Solomon finished building the Lord's temple and his royal palace, he gave 20 cities in the land of Galilee to Hiram, the King of Tyre, for the cedar and cypress timber and gold that Solomon had requested for the buildings. When the king of Tyre went to see the cities Solomon gave him, he was not pleased at all with them. It was better if he had negotiated, agreed on the number and nature of cities to be given to him for a specific quantity of timber and gold, and also inspected the cities to be given in exchange, before supplying timber to Solomon since they were doing the exchange of goods and materials as business. In business, it's proper to be specific on the terms and conditions governing the business, and read and inspect the materials involved to avoid displeasure and misunderstanding after the business has begun. Seek the services of lawyers, accountants, quantity surveyors, valuers and other professionals in a large scale business that may require their services to avoid "had I known" at the end.

At verse 13, when Hiram was not pleased with the cities Solomon gave to him, he spoke to Solomon with soft words asking, "What kind of cities are these which you have given me, my brother?" Hiram still went on and paid Solomon 120 talents of gold. Even when your business partner or any other person offends you, don't rain curses on them. Rather, be firm and polite in your complaint and expression of displeasure, so as to maintain peaceful relationship when the problem may have been solved. Remember that a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh answer steers up anger.

PRAYER: Father, help me not to do sinful actions, and not to speak angry words since I belong to Jesus

TOPIC: YOU MUST KEEP THIS TEMPLE CLEAN!
READ: 1 KINGS 9:1-9

THE MESSAGE:

After the dedication of the temple, God appeared to Solomon and promised him that as long as he and Israel kept God's commandment, He would be present in that temple forever and would watch over it. He also warned that if Solomon and Israel abandoned the temple, He would reject Israel and get the beautiful temple destroyed.

This promise and warning still apply to us today. Our bodies are God's temples (1 Corinthians 6:19), and the Holy Spirit lives in us as a sign of God's presence in His temple. If we maintain holiness, righteousness, purity and chastity, God will be present in us, and will care for and protect us permanently. But if we commit fornication, homosexuality, adultery, or live a life of impurity and lust, it will amount to abandoning God and defiling His temple. God will not spare us; He will destroy any person who destroys His temple (1 Corinthians 3:17). Once a Christian lives in sexual sin, the Holy Spirit departs from him and that person becomes empty and abandoned by God. The result is that Satan, demons, and even witches and wizards, can attack, hurt or kill that person because there is no defence. We must be careful to lead a clean life of holiness all the days of our lives.

PRAYER: Lord, take my life, and let it be consecrated to You.

I also have this similar experience too, here in the city I feel comfortable sleeping on the mattress but anytime I travel home to the village I will ALWAYS FEEL pain at my back or one side of my body if I wake up in the morning.

This pain will linger a whole day or number of times I slept on the mattress.

TOPIC: FAMILIARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT
READ: MATTHEW 13:53-58

When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there.
54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.
55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?
56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”
57 And they took offense at him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.”
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

THE MESSAGE:

Today's reading shows how unbelief, familiarity and contempt can limit a person's miracle and shorten the hand of God to hear, heal, help, save and deliver. When Jesus came to His own country, Nazareth, He taught the people and did mighty works there. But instead of the people rejoicing and saying that a great Prophet had risen among them, God had visited His people, they treated Jesus with contempt because they knew His house, His mother, His siblings, and His humble background. They did not bother to consider the truth and importance of His teachings and miracles. The attitude of Jesus' people can be summarised in the saying, "Familiarity breeds contempt." Because of the unbelief of the people, Jesus did not do a mighty work there. He simply did a scanty work and left.

Nowadays, similar things happen. Some people make themselves so familiar with the Church and God, that they no longer respect God or His presence. Some Church members abuse and disrespect their pastors and gossip with them. Some Christians come late to Church without good reasons; some others mismanage Church or fellowship resources because they feel they are close to the General Overseer, or people in authority. In a Church or fellowship where people treat God, His ministers or property with contempt, it shows unbelief and God will not do many mighty works there. If you need miracles, blessings and God's favour, treat Him and His servants with deep respect.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to love and honour You and Your servants all the days of my life. Amen.

TOPIC: A BOUNTIFUL AND GRATEFUL OFFERING
READ: 1 KINGS 8:62-66

Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the Lord.
63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the Lord, twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.
64 On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was in front of the house of the Lord; for there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small to receive the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
65 At that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seven days and seven more days—fourteen days.
66 On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they [a]blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the good that the Lord had done for His servant David, and for Israel His people.

THE MESSAGE:

During the dedication of the Temple, Solomon offered to God peace offerings of 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep and goats. The same day, Solomon dedicated the middle of the Court that was before the Lord; he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings and the fat of peace offerings. The said offerings were so abundant that the small brazen altar in the Lord's presence could not contain them; therefore Solomon offered them on the middle of the Court.

Solomon had a generous heart towards God. Just do a rough estimate of the monetary value of 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep and goats today and see how much Solomon gave to the Lord; then estimate the abundant burnt, grains and fat offerings which he also offered to God the same day. 2 Corinthians 8:5 emphasises giving bountifully while verse 7 tells us that God loves a cheerful giver. Some Christians do not give to God; others give sparingly. Some people put their money to empty things that will attract the praise of men, but are unwilling to give to God. If you check the offering boxes of some Churches and ministries, you will see people giving economically. Some persons cannot give to God unless a Preacher persuades or cajoles them. The conclusion of the matter is this: If you give, it will be given to you. If you give to God abundantly and cheerfully, He will love you and provide for you abundantly just as He loved and provided for Solomon abundantly.

PRAYER: Gracious Father, please give me a generous heart of gratitude to give to You bountifully.

And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
55 Then he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:
56 “Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest[a] to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.
57 May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us,
58 that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers. 59 And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near the Lord our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day may require,
60 that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other.
61 Let your heart therefore be [b]loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.”

THE MESSAGE:

During the dedication of the Temple, when Solomon finished praying series of prayers unto God, he stood up in front of the altar where he knelt, raised his hands towards heaven and blessed the people. In blessing the people, he did it in such a way as not to take over the functions of a Priest. His prayer was systematic. He praised the Lord who had given rest to His people, and also proclaimed the faithfulness of God.

After thanking God and acknowledging His faithfulness; he made 5 basic requests:
(a) He prayed for God's presence (verse 57)
(b) He prayed that God would give them the desire to do His will in everything (verse 58)
(c) He prayed for the desire and ability to obey God's decrees and commands (verse 58)
(d) He prayed for help with each day's needs (verse 49)
(e) He prayed for the extension of God's kingdom to the entire world.
These prayer by Solomon are applicable for today's daily living.
In fact, the prayer is the same with the Lord's Prayer which Jesus taught us. We need to adore and praise God in our prayer, and also ask for His constant presence with us and in our daily needs.

PRAYER: Faithful God, I need Your presence every passing hour. Please incline my heart to keep Your laws. Amen.

TOPIC: PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
READ: 1 KINGS 8:44-53

44 “When your people go to war against their enemies, wherever you send them, and when they pray to the Lord toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name,
45 then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.
46 “When they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you become angry with them and give them over to their enemies, who take them captive to their own lands, far away or near;
47 and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captors and say, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly’;
48 and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and pray to you toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name;
49 then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.
50 And forgive your people, who have sinned against you; forgive all the offenses they have committed against you, and cause their captors to show them mercy;
51 for they are your people and your inheritance, whom you brought out of Egypt, out of that iron-smelting furnace.
52 “May your eyes be open to your servant’s plea and to the plea of your people Israel, and may you listen to them whenever they cry out to you.
53 For you singled them out from all the nations of the world to be your own inheritance, just as you declared through your servant Moses when you, Sovereign Lord, brought our ancestors out of Egypt.”

THE MESSAGE:

As we conclude Solomon's prayer of dedication at the temple, we need to think of prayer as something we cannot live without. The importance of prayer as a means of communicating with God is emphasised here, highlighting the power of approaching God with humility. There is a confidence displayed by Solomon over what God is capable of doing in the temple. We must learn from this because God is more than able to take care of us.

Trusting God is the best we can do in our daily living. In times of facing battles against the enemy, sin, or exile, we should remember that "If they turn to you with their whole heart and soul in the land of their enemies and pray toward the land you gave to their ancestors—toward this city you have chosen, and toward this Temple I have built to honor your name—then hear their prayers and their petition from heaven where you live, and uphold their cause" (verses 48 & 49). We are reminded of the need to pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and pray fervently (James 5:16). If we look up to God in everything by prayer, He is sure to help us out in everything.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, let Your ears be open to my prayers. Please hear me when I call. Amen.

TOPIC: THE SHEEP KNOW AND FOLLOW THEIR SHEPHERD
READ: LUKE 10:1-9

After these things the Lord appointed [a]seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.
2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.
5 But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.
7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.
8 Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.
9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

THE MESSAGE:

Today is St Luke the Evangelist's Day. Luke was one of the Disciples of Jesus Christ. He was a medical doctor by profession and attended to Paul in his missionary journeys. He was also the author of Luke and Acts of the Apostles. In this passage, Luke reminds us that the sheep know their shepherd very well. They listen to and recognise his voice and that is why they follow only their shepherd. It is difficult, if not impossible for them to follow a stranger. So as sheep, we must listen to the voice of the shepherd and follow him where he leads.
The illustration is fit for the present day Christian leaders who are likened to the shepherd.

Christian leaders are here advised to go through the gate—the due process of raising Church leaders—before they can lead others. There is also the process of officially assigning one to his/her place of assignment. The writer of Hebrews reminds us that "no one takes the honour upon himself..." (Hebrews 5:4). The shepherd should have a sincere relationship and intimacy with the sheep. He should always provide the needed leadership with the needed courage at all times. And finally, he is expected to help the sheep find good pastures.

PRAYER: Dear Jesus, make me a good Christian leader who will be like You and who will be ready to lay down my life for the sheep I lead. Amen.

TOPIC: THE RELEVANCE OF THE TEMPLE
READ: 1 KINGS 8:31-43

31 “When anyone sins against his neighbor, and is forced to take an oath, and comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this temple, 32 then hear in heaven, and act, and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way on his head, and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.
33 “When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and when they turn back to You and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this temple,
34 then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.
35 “When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,
36 then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.
37 “When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land of their [g]cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;
38 whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this temple:
39 then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men),
40 that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You gave to our fathers.
41 “Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for Your name’s sake
42 (for they will hear of Your great name and Your strong hand and Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this temple,
43 hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.

THE MESSAGE:

Our passage shows the relevance of the Temple in the lives of the Israelites. First, God was to judge and punish the guilty and set free the innocent when an Oath of innocence is taken in front of the altar of the temple. Second, when they suffered loss in wars because of their sins, and they turned to pray in the Temple, God would forgive and save them. In addition to coming to the temple to pray, if due to distance, they prayed towards the Temple concerning any matter, that God would answer them. Foreigners would come from distant lands because of God's name and when they prayed toward the Temple, God would answer them too.

Of striking significance is his concluding prayer; "All the people of the earth will come to know and fear you, just as your own people Israel do... that this Temple I have built honours your name" (verse 43). Another notable aspect of the prayer is its emphasis on God's willingness to hear the prayers of not only Israelites, but also foreigners who pray towards the Temple, demonstrating God's universal love and mercy to all people, regardless of their background. So no matter the nature of the problem we may have, as long as we are connected to God's altar by prayer, God will answer us and meet us at the points of our needs.

PRAYER: Father, help me to always have reverence for Your place of worship in Jesus' Name. Amen.

TOPIC: FAITHFUL IS HE WHO PROMISED
READ: 1 KINGS 8:22-30

22 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven;
23 and he said: “Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
24 You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.
25 Therefore, Lord God of Israel, now keep what You promised Your servant David my father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man sit before Me on the throne of Israel, only if your sons take heed to their way, that they walk before Me as you have walked before Me.’
26 And now I pray, O God of Israel, let Your word come true, which You have spoken to Your servant David my father.
27 “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!
28 Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today:
29 that Your eyes may be open toward this [f]temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.
30 And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.

THE MESSAGE:

At the dedication of the temple of Jerusalem, King Solomon prayed for the temple, unto the Lord. He reminded God that He keeps His covenant and has kept His promise to His servant, David. According to Solomon in our passage, "You made that promise with your own mouth, and with your own hands you have fulfilled it today. And now, O LORD, God of Israel, carry out the additional promise you made to your servant David, my father" (verse 26). Another promise the Lord made to him was "My name will be there" (verse 29).
God makes promises and fulfils them.

Trust Him and His process and He will always come through for you, because forever, His word is settled in heaven. Be encouraged by this: "God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19). We always need to be thankful and grateful to God for the promises He has fulfilled in order to activate the fulfilment of the rest. And finally, we should wait patiently for God's appointed time set for such promises.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, who keeps His word from generation to generation, visit me in Your mighty power and confirm Your word to me now and always. Amen.

TOPIC: BUT I CHOSE DAVID TO BE OVER MY PEOPLE ISRAEL
READ: 1 KINGS 8:12-21

12 Then Solomon spoke:
“The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.
13 I have surely built You an exalted house,
And a place for You to dwell in forever.”
14 Then the king turned around and blessed the whole assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.
15 And he said: “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying, 16 ‘Since the day that I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, that My name might be there; but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’
17 Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a [a]temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
18 But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.
19 Nevertheless you shall not build the temple, but your son who will come from your body, he shall build the temple for My name.’
20 So the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; and I have [b]filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised; and I have built a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
21 And there I have made a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.”

THE MESSAGE:

From our passage, Solomon states clearly that God did not choose any city for the Israelites to build Him a house but chose David to be over His people. The selection of David shows that God knew who He wanted to lead His people and He went for him. "And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he" (1 Samuel 16:12). This signifies how dear David was to God's heart, as God's election supersedes everything! Little wonder, he was described as a man after God's heart.

In our world today, people insist on leading people, even when they neither have the support of the people, nor that of God. When this happens, it is either unpopular persons are forced on others or such unpopular persons come to power by force. We should be careful not to allow our quest for power and position get us to such a level of madness. Even in the Church, God chooses whom He wants and sets him over His people, and His choice should always be respected by all and sundry as He does not in any way make mistakes.

PRAYER: Eternal Father, I pray that You look with pity on me and mark me and my family for excellence.

TOPIC: REVERENCE FOR THE ARK OF GOD IS REWARDING
READ: 1 KINGS 8:1-11

Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the City of David, which is Zion.
2 Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with King Solomon at the feast in the month of [a]Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
3 So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
4 Then they brought up the ark of the Lord, the [b]tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up.
5 Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.
6 Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim.
7 For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles.
8 The poles extended so that the [c]ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day.
9 Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

THE MESSAGE:

The Ark of the Covenant was at the centre of the worship of God's people, Israel. It was previously captured by the Philistines (1 Samuel 4:11) and was later brought to Zion by David and kept in the tent he had made for it (1 Samuel 6:16-17). Soon after the dedication of the temple of Jerusalem, King Solomon's next and most important move was to bring up the Ark of God into the temple and restore it to where it rightly belonged. In doing this, he made sure all the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes—the leaders of the ancestral families of the Israelites, were part of it. By this approach, everyone was connected to the altar and the ark.

If we get ourselves connected to the altar and the Ark of the Covenant of God, we will be certain that God's blessing will flow from the throne of grace to every one of us. More so, God's presence will be revealed in our midst, as shown in our passage: "When the priests came out of the Holy Place, a thick cloud filled the Temple of the LORD. The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the LORD filled the Temple" (verses 10-11). This experience is worth looking up to.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, help me to always acknowledge Your presence, activate it and experience it. Amen.

TOPIC: REWARD FOR SUPPORTING GOD'S WORK
READ: PHILIPPIANS 4:10-23

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your[c] care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to [d]be abased, and I know how to [e]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through [f]Christ who strengthens me.
14 Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress.
15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.
17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
18 Indeed I [g]have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you.
22 All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with [h]you all. Amen.

THE MESSAGE:

Paul appreciated the gifts sent by the Philippians in supporting his ministry. He pointed out that from the time he left Macedonia, only the Philippians had partnered with him. He also acknowledged experiencing both the good and bad sides of life as contributing in balancing his life as a child of God. Concluding, he prayed that God would supply all their needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (verse 19). Paul in various passages, also acknowledged Churches and people who genuinely supported his ministry, and prayed for God's rewards for them.

Note that apart from our time and our talent, the Gospel needs huge financial sponsorship from time to time. We are challenged from Luke 8:1-3 with how Jesus' ministry was sponsored by Mary and other women, from their resources. At other times, Peter and others gave out their boats to be used by Jesus (Luke 5:3). A young lad also gave out his five loaves of bread and two fishes (John 6:9). In all, we are reminded that there is a reward from God for all these. So continue to do well in your support for kingdom matters, or start now if you have not been supportive of God's work. Great is your reward from God, now and hereafter.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me not to lose focus in supporting Your work with my time, talent and treasure. Amen.

Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.
2 I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 [a]And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your [b]gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

THE MESSAGE:

As Paul concluded his letter to the Philippian Church, he raised critical matters that we need to consider. First, he charged them to stand fast in the Lord. Second, he advised Euodias, and Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. Third, he advised that those women who laboured with him in the Gospel, with other fellow labourers, should be helped. They were also to always rejoice in the Lord and do things in moderation; to make their requests known unto God in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Finally, they were urged to think on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; any virtue, and any praise, as well as to do those things, which they have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in him.

As Christians, we are expected to strive for the truth, and be honest and just in our relationships with both those in the faith and those outside it. Note that there were many others who went through this journey of life victoriously and at present, they form part of the great cloud of witnesses over our heavenly race (Hebrew 12:1). We must learn from them by being careful to do what we saw in them and heard from them.

PRAYER: Lord please help me to think on what is pleasing to You and to always do same in Jesus' Name. Amen.

TOPIC: REAL SONS ARE WORD DOERS
READ: MATTHEW 21:28-32

28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’
29 He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went.
30 Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?”
They said to Him, “The first.”
Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward [f] relent and believe him.

THE MESSAGE:

While Jesus was teaching in the temple, the chief priests and elders came to Him with a question concerning His authority and power. To push their argument, they lay claim to the Abrahamic coverage of their sonship. To deal with their argument, Jesus came up with the parable of two sons. The first son agreed to go on an errand for the father but did not go while the second initially did not agree to go, but later went. In this parable, the first son refers to those who are totally disloyal and disobedient to the father they initially claimed faithfulness to while the second refers to those who were thought to be disobedient in the first instance, but are now obedient, doing the father's wish.

This parable reminds us that the real sons are not just hearers of the word but the doers. James bore witness to this when he stated, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22). God's instructions are meant to be obeyed even when they are not convenient for us. Take a firm decision today to always obey God, even in the midst of the anti-God worldly system, and you will never regret you did.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to obey Your word always and so prove that I am Your son indeed. Amen.

TOPIC: THE POWER OF A CHRIST-CENTERED MINDSET
READ: PHILIPPIANS 3:12-21

Not that I have already attained,[c] or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have [d]apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already [e]attained, let us walk by the same [f]rule, let us be of the same mind.
17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

THE MESSAGE:

In our text, Paul reflects on the Christian journey, emphasising the power of a Christ-centered mindset in pursuing spiritual maturity. He acknowledges that he had not yet reached perfection but was pressing on to take hold of the purpose for which Christ took hold of him (verse 12). This humility and focused mindset highlight the believer's need to continually grow in their relationship with Christ. Paul encourages believers to follow godly examples and avoid the path of those who live as enemies of the cross, whose focus is earthly desires (verses 17-19).

In contrast, a Christ-centered mindset shifts our identity to being citizens of heaven, eagerly awaiting the return of Christ, who will transform our bodies to be like His glorious body (verses 20-21). This passage challenges Christians to adopt a mindset shaped by eternal values, striving for Christ's likeness and living with purpose and hope.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, transform my mind and fix my thoughts on Christ. Empower me to live victoriously, with humility, gratitude, and obedience. Amen.

TOPIC: THE ALL-SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship [a]God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: 5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;
6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
11 if, by any means, I may attain[b] to the resurrection from the dead.

THE MESSAGE:

In today's passage, Paul emphasises the all-sufficiency of Christ, declaring that Jesus alone is enough for salvation, righteousness, and spiritual growth. Paul warns against false teachers who promote the idea that human efforts such as following religious laws and traditions, are necessary for salvation. He emphasises that salvation comes through faith in Christ alone, not through reliance on human achievements or rituals (verses 2-3). According to Paul, true believers are those who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and place no confidence in human achievements (verse 3). Paul shares his personal journey of rejecting reliance on his achievements and traditions, counting them as "rubbish" compared to the supreme value of knowing Christ (verses 7-.

His ultimate desire is to know Christ fully, experiencing the power of His resurrection, sharing in His sufferings, and conforming to His death (verses 10-11). This passage reveals that Christ is our all-sufficient Saviour, providing righteousness and salvation. He is also the foundation for spiritual growth. By placing trust in Him alone, believers are freed from reliance on human efforts and can embrace the fullness of life found in Christ. THE MESSAGE:

In our scripture text today, Paul presents himself, Timothy, and Epaphroditus as exemplary models of faithful partners in ministry. Paul expresses his trust in Timothy, describing him as a likeminded individual who genuinely cares for the well-being of the Church (versy 20). Timothy's proven character and willingness to serve alongside Paul demonstrate his faithfulness as a partner in ministry (verse 22). These two people show the importance of having faithful partners in ministry who share a common vision and goal.

Epaphroditus, on the other hand, is commended for his selfless service to Paul and the Philippian Church. He had risked his life to serve Paul, and God had mercy on him, sparing his life (verse 27). Paul instructs the Philippians to receive Epaphroditus with joy and to hold him in high esteem (verse 29). This highlights the importance of recognising and appreciating the sacrifices made by faithful partners in ministry. THE MESSAGE:

Today's Bible text presents a striking contradiction: True greatness lies not in self-exaltation, but in humility. Paul urges believers to cultivate unity, love, and compassion (verses 1-4). Christ's selfless example is the standard (verse 5). In verses 6-8, Jesus' humility is showcased: "He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant... and humbled Himself to the point of death." This astonishing act of humility took Jesus to the highest point of exaltation (verses 9-11). God exalted Him, giving Him the name above all names. The "attitude of altitude" requires humility, recognising our limitations and dependence on God (verse 3). It demands selflessness, considering others' interests above our own (verse 4). Obedience to God's will, regardless of the cost, is also essential (verse . As believers, we are called to reflect Christ's attitude, embracing humility and selflessness (verse 5).

This mind-set critically changes relationships, fostering unity and love within the body of Christ. By adopting the attitude of altitude, we reflect God's character, demonstrate true greatness, and experience the transformative power of humility. In verses 10-11, Paul writes, "Every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." We ascend to this altitude by embracing first the transformative power of humility, and our lives proclaiming the majesty of Christ, who emptied Himself for our salvation.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, may my life be a reflection of Christ's humility and selflessness in all I do. Amen.

48 Thus Solomon had all the furnishings made for the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold on which was the showbread;
49 the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right side and five on the left in front of the inner sanctuary, with the flowers and the lamps and the wick-trimmers of gold;
50 the basins, the trimmers, the bowls, the ladles, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner room (the Most Holy Place) and for the doors of the main hall of the temple.
51 So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the Lord was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the Lord.

*MESSAGE:*

In the narrative of the building of the temple by Solomon, Hiram took responsibility for the work in bronze, while Solomon was in charge of the work in gold. At the close of the narrative about the temple project, attention shifted from Hiram to Solomon: _"Solomon also made all the furnishings for the house of the LORD"_ (v. 48). Solomon's furnishings were made from gold, and included the altar, the table carrying the shewbread (v. 48), the ten lamp stands (v. 49), the censers, and the hinges for the doors, both of the temple and of the Most Holy Place (v. 50). The furnishings of gold by Solomon concluded the temple project (v. 51a), alongside David's dedicated items of silver and gold brought into the temple treasuries by Solomon (v. 51b). Thus, the temple was ready for worship.

The completion of the temple was achieved because of teamwork. Hiram worked the bronze and Solomon worked the gold. David's dedicated items of silver and gold were also needed to complete the temple. As Solomon followed the Holy Spirit's plan to build the temple (cf 1 Chron. 28:11-12), utilizing teamwork to complete it, so should we follow God's plan for our lives, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us in utilizing our individual gifts in service to God. Relationships require teamwork. Marriage requires cooperation; family and church life require cooperation. Be a team player from today!

THE MESSAGE:

Today, September 29, is Saint Michael and all Angels Day, a day set aside to celebrate the Ministry of the Angels. On this day, we are reminded of the role of Angel Michael who is known for being in command of many angels to fight the dragon (Revelation 12:7-8; cf Daniel 10:12-13). Angels are created beings but by nature, are spirits meant to assist us. They are not to be worshipped or prayed to (Revelation 22:9; Col. 2:18). They are ministering servants to believers (Hebrews 1:14), and shall be judged by believers (1 Corinthians 6:3). Angels praise the Lord and do His commands (Psalm 103:20; 148:2); rejoice in the salvation of men (Luke 15:10); and minister to the heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14 cf 1 Kings 19:5-8; Daniel 6:22).

Verse 10 of our text today reveals that believers have guardian angels. Just as we have physical security guards who defend us against physical enemies, so too believers have heavenly security guards—angels who watch over us. If the Lord will open our eyes to see the angels keeping guard over us, we will get to know that the angelic guards on our side are more than the evil forces in our enemy's camp (2 Kings 6:15-17). Let us take the Lord by His word that "I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20), and be assured that His guardian angels will continually attend to us to protect us from the evil one.
