Abeg make we no fight oo. Make we no start war of seven kings for here.

I understand that when people don't see things from our point of view, we tend to get frustrated and angry. But please, let it not result into name calling.

For me, if I have a discussion with someone and he/she doesn't see things from my own perspective, even after so many points, I withdraw.

Even if you are right, some people still won't conform to your ideologies.

I enjoy the banter. Let's not turn it to quarrel... Abeg.

Well said. We noticed it a long time ago. A lot do not discuss it because they just want to enjoy the show.

Let's do small roll call of the remaining men grin :

Jorah - Love whipped, family heritage gone. cry
Theon - No pericarp, family position forfeited. cry
Jamie - Unmarried, disabled, intercourse with sister. cry
Tormund - Crass, ruffian, Uncultured, not much honour. cry
Tyrion - Half man, suddenly unsmart, big family name gone. cry
Davos - Honourable, bit coward, natural subordinate. undecided
Jon - Has every good man thing, bent the knee, not bothered by any throne. cool
Varys - No balls therefore inferiority complex. cry
Sam - Smart, physically weak. cry
Greyworm - Very good honorable man, no pericarp. cry

All of them are subordinates yet they've seen more wars and had way more experience.
Almost perfect men like Tywin, Ned, Rob, Oberyn...long gone.

Funny thing is the story is still wonderful...show is still the best ever.

After everything i take solace in the fact that this deep movement/feminist propaganda has no effect yet in my own real world. (I still stop and park on the road to help a lady change her tyre....never ever seen one jack her car up).
By the time the radical leftist feminism starts manifesting in my everyday life, i hope my watch must have ended.

Enjoy the show..that's primary.

Blockdock90:
The extreme leftist feminist propaganda has two aims:
1. Making women powerful, while simultaneously making men weaker and overly subordinate to them
2. Portraying men as nothing but corrupt, rapist, misogynist and tyrannical.
GOT has been successfully in pushing this 2 agendas and I argued in my earlier post that it's becoming more obvious in the recent seasons.

Like you made mention of, all powerful male characters like Jeffrey, Ramsey, Little finger, Robert, The Khals etc have been portrayed as rapist, tyrannical, mysoginist or irredeemably corrupt. This is the aim of the propaganda; To portray men as violent, extremely dominant brutes with no moral compass. Hardly is any powerful male character portrayed as someone with good virtues. Ned and Rob fit this mould but both were killed off early. You also made mention of the fact that women couldn't be knights and that women were regarded as property. This fits perfectly in line with the aims of extreme leftist feminist propaganda: To represent the world as a Patriarchal environment that's anti-women.

In the extreme leftist feminist view, the world is an anti-female terrain controlled by powerful mysogynist men who regard women as their property. This is the view that was portrayed in the early seasons. Now what we are getting is what the extreme feminists regard as a solution to this world, that's why you have women given so much power at the expense of men. That's why women are portrayed as bad ass, strong and smart while men are portrayed as subordinate to women. The writers of GOT even take this agenda a step further by emasculating any male that is to have good virtues either by cutting off their balls, like Varys, Grey worm and Theon, making them disabled like Jaime and Bran, making them HALF-MEN like Tyrion or making them fat and physically weak like Sam. Like I said before, Jon is the only powerful character who possess good virtues but he is always demeaned for his height, not being man enough, his heritage or the fact that he knows nothing, and most importantly notice that he always says that he isn't interested in power.

If anyone thinks I'm just ranting crap then you really need to open your eyes and see. Movies & TV shows aren't just for entertainment purposes. They are also used as tools to shape the mass consciousness of the public & to push large scale agendas. This doesn't mean I don't enjoy GOT, of course I do, and I think it's one of the best shows ever made in terms of it's production quality, but all this doesn't prevent me from being able to identify conspicuous themes when I happen to spot them.

SMH
I didn't want to write this, but I just decided to write one last thing on this topic.

Like I said earlier, there are some shows I stopped watching because they started bringing some things I don't agree with. That shows that I understand that some series try to portray Wat is happening in our present time to their viewers.

However, if you watch said shows, you'll notice that these are shows that don't per say have a fixed story line. It's king if like a flow as we go thing. The narrative of the series changes with happenings in the society (Veep, Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, Legacy etc).

Why I do not agree with the fact that game of thrones is trying to force feed you any feminist Shit is because it's not like other series. To a point, i think the story is rigid.

The dude said Jaime's fate was decided by two women. Who else would have decided it? Jaime killed her father and he fought the Starks. Jon bent the kneel to Dany, she is their queen. Sansa is the lady of Winterfell. The way they came to be in that position was not manipulated. I don't believe the producers woke up one day and said, "let's make Dany queen and Sansa lady of winterfell". They were suppose to be this because that is how the story should be. It's just like if Jon dies in the next episode, it won't make sense because we know that is not how the story should be according to wat we have been watching for years. These leading female characters grew into the positions they currently occupy.

Brienne defended Jaime because apart from Tyrion, she is probably the only other person who can lay a claim to knowing him well. She has felt his humanity. Who else would have defended him? Again actions of previous scenes led to that moment.

Podrick is nobody's b*tch. He is(was) a squire. That's his job. No one complained when he did it for Tyrion. Again the narrative of the story led to Tyrion telling him to go with Brienne. It's the way the story should be. Nobody is forcing anything down your throat. And being with Brienne has been good for him. Just watch him fight with confidence.

Are there somethings that movie makers do to portray happenings in the society to us? Yes absolutely. But trying to look for those things when they are not there is just sad. You've been condition probably by other series you watch that you now look for it in every series.

To conclude, game of throne came from the fictional work of GRRM. If he didn't want Dany to be the last surviving Targearyan (before we knew about Jon of course) and powerful, he wouldn't have killed Viserys, he wouldn't have made Dany have three dragons, he wouldn't have given her the unsullied and the dothraki.
He wouldnt have made Sansa survive the jump. This is GRRM's work and the show is progressing kinda along the line with his own ending.

Please, don't let your mind be conditioned. Don't go looking for what is not there. This is the greatest series ever. Enjoy it for Wat it is.

If you still decide that my brain is relegated, or I am talking trash, I wish you good fortunes in future series to come. I however pray that one day, you might see reasons in all I've said.

Because a story is beautiful doesn't mean you should just enjoy it and forget the underlying fervors.
When I was in secondary school I read Purple Hibiscus by Adichie I enjoyed the images and story so much that I read it over and over again but getting the university to study literary criticism, I read it again and then I saw the underlying messages of how men are monsters and how innocent women fall victims to male brutality.
The fact that Ramsey raped Sansa still serves to promote the metoo movement and the stereotype that males are sexually predators and aggressors.

The whores in the film does not in any way suggest male dominance there are whores everywhere thousands of girls move willingly into brothels monthly none of them are forced into it. Go to the nearest hotel / motel to you and confirm for yourself. Prostitution is not in anyway female oppression.
Cersei is my favorite character, when she was crowned queen, did anyone complain?
I think you should go to Twitter and see for yourself what feminists are saying about the " fúck tradition" by Tormound.
When you read a book like Beyond the Horizon you will probably enjoy the story but that doesn't mean there are no underlying messages in simple funny rather seemingly casual conversation
So because Feminist are saying one thing, you go for it? It's just like me saying I'm seeing your so called feminist agenda just because you said it

See, me I just give up. If you like feminist your feminist. You want to spoil the series for yourself, please be my guest.

In addition to what I wrote earlier...

Yes I know their are some things pushed on us with movies e.g being Gay. I stopped watching some series because of this. If you don't like it, you stop watching it. Nobody Co tells you. You control yourself.

The issue of females rising up to power in game of thrones didn't just happen overnight. It's been building for years. Don't didn't just wake up overnight to conquer Westeros and the events leading to Cersie taking the throne for herself has being building up.

We see what we see

bro, I'm glad there are people like you out there. I wrote something about this feminist propaganda earlier. It just appear that most viewers are blind to these themes all they care about is dragons whitewalkers and other bullshít. Game of Thrones is currently the most powerful literature in the whole world right now and all the western feminists want is to use it to push their agenda and men just close their eyes to the whole bullshít, worse of it all, western beta males on Twitter are even cheering the men relegation to please women. I just weak
Bro, it's a series (or movie if you prefer that). If you are hell bent on looking for something wrong with it, you'll definitely see it.

For example when Joeffery was manhandling Sansa or when Ramsey raped Sansa, why did you write something about male dominance? why didn't you write something then when women couldn't be knights, or when Arya couldn't get her wish but had to succumb to the wishes of Ned to marry a highborn lord when she gets older. Why wasn't there outcry from you when Danywas sold to Khal Drogo? Why didn't you complain the ladies acting as whores were use anyhow by the men for their pleasure.

I said it before and I'll say it again, game of thrones is not for everybody. If you can't enjoy this lovely series for the way it is then go back and play ludo.
Sometimes I get infuriated when people raise stupid issues.
Sit down, download the series, watch it and enjoy. If it makes you angry because of some perceived nonsense, then delete it from your phone and never watch again. FINISH!

Thank you for this. It begins to put things into perspective for me.

I know those books are dammmmn good & detailed - one of the reasons I want to read all. However, considering the show is at Season finale already, do you think it'll be wise to go back in time & read them with all the spoilers I now know?

I'm still contemplating if it'll be enjoyable , without that anti-climax feel , since I already kind of know what will happen.

Has anyone here ever watched a Movie/show and went back to read the books and still THEOUGHLY enjoyed it?
I did that with Harry Potter. I didn't regret it. Same with game of thrones. I started reading the books after season 5.

There are so many things the show/movie won't explain. That's what the book is for. It's like eating fried rice all over again, but this time with salad.

Podrick song lyrics.

High in the halls of the kings who are gone
Jenny would dance with her ghosts.
The ones she had lost and the ones she had found
And the ones who had loved her the most.

The ones who’d been gone for so very long
She couldn’t remember their names
They spun her around on the damp cold stone
Spun away all her sorrow and pain

And she never wanted to leave
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
That song did certain things to me. Like you tightly said, the was the best non fight episode from game of thrones.
It had everything: topnotch dialogue, anger, hate, forgiveness, love, shared moments, stories, vindication and they topped it with that song.

That song has been playing in my head all morning.

well it was kinda something worth noticing the way Sansa was staring at Theon. The look had a deep meaning to it, I mean, they both survive severe physical, mental, emotional and psychological molestation from Ramsey Bolton.

I'm starting to believe Theon may not have returned to Winterfell for Daenerys, but for Sansa...
Of course it's for Sansa. Everyone should know that. He came to fight for Winterfell.
I think the real turning point for him was when Jon told him he was both a Greyjoy and a Stark. He didn't have to choose. That settled a lot of conflicts that was brewing in his mind.

Nope, not equality
If there is anyone who deserves to be a knight, it's Brienne. She is the embodiment of all that a knight should be. And Jaime knows this.

Moreover, there is nothing normal in the seven kingdoms anymore: A queen sits the iron throne, we have dragons, the dead are coming, Sam who hasn't forged a ring of any metal around his neck cures someone with grey scale, the free folks being granted passage to the seven kingdoms... Ksslib:
I see why it's easy to hate this episode & label it a total bore, but - to me - this is one of the best episodes. It's so subtle yet powerful. Maybe because it deeply appeals to my melancholic side.

No need to rush. I love the gradual transitioning. No need to rush. Is it not blood you want? Don't worry, it is coming. Blood will so spill you'll be forced to use rolls of tissue in wiping off splashes that flew from your favorites & landed on your screen protectors. No worry.

These are characters we've been with for years( I prefer to use "almost all our lives" , it sounds more dramatic grin). Bretheren, these are characters we've been with for almost all our lives. They are our brothers, our sisters. They're now a part of us whether we choose to admit it or not. Some, or all of them, will die. And we'll miss them.

So why should we rush? Don't we want to be with them for one more, last final time? This episode is beautiful & powerful because most times we see the war, the bravery, the bloodshed, the victory, but most times we don't see the personal, emotional and philosophical battles they struggle with in the final moments leading to the war itself.

They are so many enriching, powerful scenes in this episode - one of them being the chamber gathering between Tyrion & Jamie, then joined by Brienne, Podrick, ser Devos & Tormund aka.. Giants bane...lol

But I'll talk about two.

One -my personal favorite actually - when Ser Devos was serving supper and this man, after collecting his share, tells ser Devos that he's not a warrior, panic visible in his eyes. Then this little girl comes up, collects her food and tells Ser Devos she wants to fight. So tiny in contrast to the previous man, yet no fear in those little eyes. Powerful stuff!

I was pissed at the man. Like how could this little child be willing to fight & die, but you want to cower & tow a coward's path. You no get shame? But then again, we all are victors or victims of our circumstances. The little girl said her two brothers were soldiers & she wants to fight too. But the man? Maybe he was an average
trader before, a care-giver nursing the elderly perhaps, a banker, or just an average Nigerian like you & me far faaar less braver & perhaps much more likely a coward than an eight-year old Afghan whom has tasted War. Like I said, we all are victor or victims of our circumstances.

You know, it's so easy to assume that since a war is coming, everybody will automatically be pumped-up, gingered, motivated, prepared & ready to die. Sadly, some will never be ready to die. Even in their death. That's life.

These are some of the philosophical psychological battles of war - and many more - people fight in the final moments even before the main war begins. And it's important to show it.

Second one is the post-sex scene between Gendrya.

Here, Arya is seen staring far far into the neverlands - a place only she can see- while that beautiful poetic rendition by Podrick plays in the background. Here, her eyes look wide open but she looks lost. She was there but wasn't there. This scene is so powerful that the look on her face could be interpreted for one-thousand different meanings and all would be correct.

Did Podrick dickmatize her? - as he did those whores - and she's here thinking, wow!! So na wetin I dey miss be this?. Is the War even worth it? Maybe we could find somewhere cozy below the crptys and I'll hide on this D1ck till the war is over. A girl has no shame..

Maybe here, Arya knows she'll die, and for the first time, death no longer has many faces and she's starting at death..... in the face...

Maybe for all the bravery, For all the "A girl has no face" shenanigans, For all the training, For all her cold-heartedness, deep down somewhere she's just like everyone. A normal human being like you and I afraid to die, wishing that this fffucked up world could be a slightly less horrific & a better place.

The only part I felt was a bit rushed at first was how Arya transitioned from pinning a triplet of dragon glass to a wood in quick successions to make Podrick facilitate the construction of her secret special weapon, to her pinning the same Podrick to bed few seconds later.

I felt it was too fast. I felt they needed a tad bit more bonding and... gasps.... fans who still saw Arya as that semi-innocent dedicated virgin girl were not ready to see her in this new light. But like I said earlier, what makes this whole episode very powerful is that it deals with the philosophical psychological battles people fight even before the main war begins.

Before you get disappointed or angry, I want you to understand that both in witchcraft & christianity, and science even, Time is a very important constraint. Time & Space is to the Universe and Mordern science/physics what Native chalk & schnapp is to Amadioha.

The concept of Time changes everything. When you know you have a certain amount of time to live, it changes your perspective about every fffuking thing. Everything!

Now it doesn't matter if you're made of steel like Arya or copper like Tormund , but suddenly, nothing else matters but everything matters. The little things like having the walls of your v@gin@ greased by this guy you kind of like. Coming from a long- ass frightening journey that almost featured your flesh on the Night's King's Archimedes sprial and the first thing you ask is if "The big woman is still around" grin .

This episode was beautiful, philosophical & very necessary. So many subtle but deep elements. Is it how Grey worm for all his muteness & devoutness to Dany's cause knows deep down that even if they win the war, he & Missandei won't fit in the picture?

My highlight of this episode is how it subtly reinforces "The concept of Time" as the most powerful force in the universe. And it's true!!!

There was a girl. Our chemistry was out of this world, maybe supernatural sef. We bonded so well, but didn't get to the stage where Arya & Gendry currently are before we later had issues.

We don't talk anymore. I don't even know if we are ever going to see again, talk again, or hear each other's voice again till we both die. But something tells me if somehow somehow the world is to be ending in the next 5mins and death is coming for us all, our tongues will be far deep in each other's throats & we'll be ffucking each-other in 3...2.. 1.

I'll title this beautiful Episode - "The Concept of Time: the battle before the War"..
Damn!
It was like reading what I would write...ecxept for the part you kept calling Gendry Podrick grin (You wished it was he instead who did the deed)

Okay, need to ask some questions
