davidzfarm18: If the birds still have lice, definitely u must do something about it, hence, the production will not peak. I advice you repeat the ivermectin using other brand aside the one you have tried. U should also consider doping them in MB50 solution same day(though a stressful operation) but it worked for me. it will crash the production but be sure it will build up steadily and you will enjoy the fruit of ur labour. Pls give the good vitamins after the treatment (promine) Ok thanx. |

davidzfarm18: so many factors could be responsible. 1. Periodic boaster Laxota 4:6weeks 2. periodic deworming. 6:8wks 4. anti coccidial treatment. shd be periodic if on deep litres. 4. Regular treatment with antibiotics such as Neoceryl to wade off diseases. from the last forum i attended. i discovered that laying birds could be exposed to Fowl Typhoid minimum 2times a month 5. Eggcelent: abidecz. 300 four weeks old brown pullets will consume about 2.7 bags of Starter mash within 7 days. endy247. From researches I read, red LED gives the best result. Followed by white LED and of course, the common incandescent. You may check this link for details; http://www.worldpoultry.net/Layers/Housing/2014/12/Different-colour-LED-light-influences-layer-production-1666912W/ jamp. Such a huge one you have here, I pray for your success. You may wish to raise the blocks on which you put the charcoal pots. Those tiny things may jump into one at the present height thinking it has cooled. eggxel. Thanks for asking. If I may recall right, I think I eventually lost those 2 birds. Ok, thanx boss. |

Eggcelent: tunezvic. The production will increase significantly in the next few days. My take is that the drop in production was occasioned by reduction in daily feeds supplied. You don't do that with birds just entering into lay. Rather, you significantly increase their feeds intake. Maintain their daily consumption at between 100 - 110g/bird for the next fortnight. All things being equal, production should rise to minimum 75% by then. Success. just4just. Laying birds need between 16 & 17 hours of daylight to lay optimally. Natural day length is about 13 hours in Nigeria. Therefore, to stimulate your birds into early/optimal laying, you may wish to give them extra light (photo) for about 4 hours each day, say from 6 to 10pm starting from when their average bodyweight is 1.5kg, usually achievable around 16/17 weeks of age. @eggcellent, pls which colour of bulb is best for photostimulation, is it d energy saving bulb, fluorescent, or d normal yellow bulb. |

kelvin96: You will dilute the cyperforce base on the instruction on it and you can spray directly on birds with a knapsack sprayer, endeavour to spray your walls too, becos most of the lice will go take refuge there, and later get back to the birds. the way it stands now, ensure you do the spraying the evening of the very day you gave them the ivermectin,so that the lice dont escape. Please how is their poo? what color are they? what antibiotics are you giving them now? i am waiting to see your vaccination plan. Can we see the feed formula? Ok tanx, they poo is normal, i'm giving dem neoceryl plus, d birds are 4rm CHI so i used they vaccinatn plan, sorry i cant type all of it. as for d feed, seriously i dont kn d formular dat he's using cos he hasn't told me. |

Eggcelent: endy247. Don't waste your money on any egg formula. Deal with the lice infestation first. Repeat the Concimentrin after 2 weeks of initially administering it. Are the birds on litter? If yes, add ash in significant quantity to the litter. Give them vitamin & light at night to ensure they eat more. Success. Thanx @eggcelent, i appreciate. will do as u said. |

Eggcelent:
700 matured birds and weighing 1.5kg each not finishing 3 bags of 25kg feeds in a day? Something is wrong. At this age, they should be doing 3.5 bags while still "asking" for more. I assume they are sick. And given the drop in number of eggs laid daily; it could be ND, though it could also be due to the lice. Was there ever a time they finished the 3 bags? I'll advise you repeat the treatment for lice after 2 weeks, as well as do something about possible ND infection. I don't think it's ND cos i've been up to date wit lasota even gave dem last wk, they use to finish 3bags b4, i'm suspecting dat lice. i don't kn how i can completely get rid of it. Is it advisable to give dem egg formular now? |

@eggcelent & all, I feed them 3bags bt they dont finish it in a day, i raised them myself, d uniformity in growth is poor, i've given them concimectin(ivermectin) 4 d lice, wat i don't understand is after reaching 16 eggs, they dropped to 3 to 4 eggs a day. |
