The true test of stability and authenticity of worship among today's Christians in pentecostal churches will come after the death of the church founders or GOs.

Church founders in pentecostal churches are usually packaged and sold as the face of the church.

Large number of people who go to these churches, do so because of the way the founder was advertised to them. This may not come across as a problem until at the demise of that single man, then the problem will become glaring.

It is the same argument against most of the adoration ministries founded by some priests. I can give you names of many that are no longer existing because either the founder left the Catholic Church or was posted out to another parish or function.

Pentecostal churches are like the business model that we call "one man business."

The founder gives the shot. He decides how the church should run. The church is under him and not the other way round.

His spirituality is the spirituality that the church adopts. If he does not like ear rings, anyone who wears them is condemned.

He is the law and interpreter of the law. He is the sole teaching authority of the church. If he feels watching of TV can take one to hell, it will automatically become a law not to watch TV. If he feels one can divorce one's wife, it becomes the doctrine of the church.

This gives the minister so much power. . . for religion is by itself very powerful. Abuses are bound to happen because there is practically no check and balances, no control, no higher power to curb excesses.

Then at his death, the real test comes. Who will carry the face of the church? Who will take over the church business?

In most cases, it becomes a family thing. The wife might step in and take over or one of his children or maybe a relative. The church may grow or may fall. . .

But one thing you can be sure of is that the church will never remain thesame because it was built around one man which in the first place is wrong.

That is why in today's church, anyone can wake up and become a teaching authority. It does not matter what the person studied. That is why even clowns can found churches and very educated people will be their members.

The structure of the pentecostal Churches that keep existing and multiplying without any control and with every new pastor having the mentality that to be a minister is to speak in tongues, collect tithes, shout like a mad man, brand anything Catholic as devilish, and with little or no formal studies or intensive training, is the reason why some so called online "evangelists" will keep making mockery of our faith under the guise of teaching what they themselves don't know.

“When I was to return to PDP, Segun Oni was already the PDP Governor of Ekiti.

The next time I saw Obasanjo was in Osogbo when there was a thanksgiving service for Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

I got there and met General Ibrahim Babangida, Alao Akala, and a host of sitting governors. I remember Kenny Martins was also there. As I entered, Obasanjo sat at the extreme right, and Babangida sat at the extreme left.

Then, I started greeting people from the centre towards the direction of Obasanjo. Then Governor Alao Akala of Oyo State told me, ‘can’t you see Baba sitting at the other side? And I said, ‘which Baba? Which one? He said ‘Obasanjo’

Before I could say anything, Obasanjo said ‘Ah, he cannot see me. You know he is a bastard’. Then I got really angry and faced Obasanjo and told him, ‘Baba, you are the bastard! You are the bastard and the father of all the bastards’. I said in Yorubaland and in Nigeria, tell me another family called Obasanjo. I told him, ‘You will find a Fayose in Ekiti, Akure, Ilesha, Kogi. Where is another Obasanjo in Nigeria? I challenge you to show me where there is another, which shows you are a real bastard’.

General Babangida was shocked. If you had dropped a cotton ball at that moment, you would have heard a sound. There was pin drop silence. I was really angry and I told him he was not going to leave where he sat. Oyinlola came and started begging me. I told him that Obasanjo was a former president and I was a former governor that it would end up in two fighting.

People had to plead with me to allow Obasanjo to leave the venue peacefully. I remember very well that afterwards, IBB came to me and shook my hands and said ‘young man, I have not met a brave man like you’.

You know Obasanjo lies a lot. He likes to present himself as the only leading light in Yorubaland. He does not see anything good in any other person apart from himself. That is why it was so difficult for him to give Awolowo his due and also acknowledge Abiola for the hero he was while he was in power between 1999 and 2007.”
