Hmmm In 2010, I was driving to Abuja from Benin and while @ it, fell into a big pot hole that destroyed 2 tyres on same side of the car. I was lucky that I was already at lokoja. I bought 2 tyres there (tokunbo) & continued my journey. About 10kms uphill the lokoja park, one of the tyres went totally flat. Then my worst fear caught up with me; my Jack was damaged by the vulcanizer that fixed the 2 tyres at lokoja. The road was bumpy... ![]() I had to man up and drive uphill on flat tyres in search of a vulcanizer. I eventually saw several but none had a Jack. It was at a police checkpoint that they helped me stop a bus to get a Jack to change the bad tyre. I then fixed the small follow-come tyre. Used it all the way from outskirts of lokoja to Abuja. Journey of 5hrs took me 16hrs that day Thank God I got home safely that day. |

The Nigeria goalkeeper has called time on his career and his fellows might just have done the best readaptation of the Cuban classic as a tribute “One Carl Ikeme, there's only One Carl Ikeme…” Goalkeepers across the world are harmonising to the classic Wolverhampton Wanderers fans’ chant as one of them, Carl Ikeme, bows out of active football. On Friday, Ikeme announced his retirement from the round leather game as he continues his successful recovery from cancer. In July 2017, the 32-year-old pre-season preparations with Wolves [for 2017-18 campaign] took a drastic turn after a test on the club’s no. 1 returned some abnormal blood tests, with further medical examinations revealing he was suffering from Leukaemia. Last month, the ex-Nigeria international’s health received a boost. But a month later - a year after the incident - the shot-stopper has decided to hang his gloves. And the Goalkeepers' Union, who have been supportive during Ikeme’s trying time, jumped on Wolves’ faithful ‘One Carl Ikeme’ chant - a readaptation of the classic Cuban folk song ‘Guantanamera’. West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill kick-started the video that witnessed cameos from a host of former and active goalkeepers, including David Seaman, Joe Hart, Iker Casillas and Petr Cech, to pay a rhythmic tribute to Ikeme. The truth is there is no sureway of quiting smoking..... But the best method is to; 1) 1st of all, make a conscious decision to stay alive (smoking kills bro).... 2) Keep your mind busy at all times (most smokers smoke when they are idle) 3) Avoid alcohol; if not totally, avoid it for at least 6months (you won't die if you do so) because study has shown that most smokers are drinkers 4) Smoking is a habit, same as sucking of fingers/tongue by kids (and some agbayas ), drinking alcohol frequently, sex, clubbing, driving, singing etc.... The easiest way to quit a harmful habit is to replace it with a harmless or less harmful habit. My friend quit smoking by chewing gum.... I quit smoking by working extra hours in my office that when i get home, I'm so tired that I can't even hold a stick of benson and hedges ![]() 5) Point no4 worked very well for me but when I had issues with my boss, I went back to square1 of smoking again. Then I got the best solution which is..... Find a friend you love & respect with all your heart (male or female) and the person must be a non-smoker. When you are around such person, the urge to smoke will be restrained. Best of all, if you spend most of your time with the person, smoking will be kicked out of your life. Best of luck bro ![]() |
This is how true leaders speak of their own to outsiders... If you don't speak well of yourself or your houshold, outsiders will treat you and regard you as trash.... I've never been a fan of Saraki nor any politician but I just love all he said about Nigeria and Nigerians. I pray Bubu will take a cue from what Saraki has done and stop destroying our image outside. |
