I would have applied for this but all schools around agbado akute seem not to try when it comes to remuneration they just invest in infrastructure the chicken that lay the golden eggs are neglected.

I don't know why nigerians hate mikel this much, may be we don't know that this award is based on players achivements in 2013, I will like any1 2 tell me yaya's achievement in 2013 both in man city n cote d'ivoire. You called mikel a bench warmer but you forget that no coach of chelsea has failed to reckon with this man count the numbers of managers chelsea had changed from 2007 till date and tell me any that has failed to use mikel. MY OPINION
Please let's leave this guy alone, the fact he chooses chelsea over man u should not bring all this hatred even if you don't like mikel n his style, that does not mean that he is not doing well except if you are a better coach than mourinho, ancelloti, scolari, villas. Boas, di matteo even alex fergusson as far as 2013 is concern he did well and achieved better than yaya if caf refuses to give him the award that does not change anything afterall adebayor was given the award the season he didn't even achieve anything better than aboutrika.

Without being sentimental, I think mikel should win this one because, he won afcon in february 2013 and we all knew he was instrumental in all our matches most of our goals hs mikel's contribution one way or the other.
He won the uefa europa league last season (still within 2013) and he featured in reasonable amount of matches and he did well.
Mikel was in form of his life during the confederations cup 2013 he even added a goal 2 his credit against uruguay( scoring against uruguay no b moi moi na) and played very well against the likes of xavi n iniesta

He was instrumental in our world cup qualification
SHORTCOMINGS
He does not score frequently like his counterparts tho I won't blame him as that is caused by his role/assignment on the pitch
MY OPINION
Yaya happens to be a better player anyway but he did not achieve anything in the calendar year
He lost out of Afcon that mikel eventually won playing every minutes of the competion
He could not lay his hands on any trophy in europe and in the EPL
No confederations cup action hence his country could not rub shoulders with the very best in the world
HIS STRENGTH
Constantl scoring for both club and country
Based on this I think mikel should be handed the award.....thank you
