Just because Mikel has less competition in the national team don't make him world class. I don't know your standard.. but these term is relative to me.. firstly I won't be making comparisons to other African players. Because we don't have a lot I can place in that category at the moment. If I mention Aubemeyang, someone will want to shoot my head and say he is a striker. Mikel cannot even be ranked among the top 10 midfiedlers in the world at the moment.. it's okay to be patriotic.. i don't dislike mikel.. but no self proclaimed soccer guru here will convince me to put him in that world class category.. sorry.. maybe write nairaland owner to kick me out of here since you guys own this place..haha

Was it lack of competition that made him to last that long in Chelsea When players like Ballack was begging for his wages to be cut to remain in Chelsea undecided Look at the caliber of players he has displaced in the team Makalele, Essien, Diara, Ballack and even other promising talents grin grin grin Benitez that was a big critic of Mikel during his Liverpool days, benched Mikel when he first came, but immediately he used him and say how technical the guy was... End of story. Remember when Benitez left for Napoli, Mikel was the first player he tried to recruit.

Try watching that game against Spain in the confederations cup (better still, watch the highlight on YouTube). Mikel is a legend, midfield maestro and a great footballer which can make him stand tall among his peers. World class of the highest order unreservedly..,

Ex Everton, Wigan Manager – Conte Has Turned Moses Into A World Class Player

image
The coach of the national team of Belgium Roberto Martinez has praised Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for bringing out the potentials in Victor Moses.

Martinez handled Moses during his time at Wigan Athletic, and admitted that while the Nigerian has always has some special attributes, it is Conte who has succeeded in moulding him into a world class player.

Martinez said: “That’s down to Antonio Conte. He’s found what system could suit Victor Moses, a player who I’ve seen play a lot.

“When he runs with the ball, his technical his ability is world class.

“When he gets into the final third his decision-making is not as clean as other players but I think he’s suiting this system.

“Victor Moses has got the stamina to do the job which is very difficuilt to find in a quality player.

“When Victor Moses moved to Chelsea he could grow into the player he’s showing now.

“It’s been a long journey – four or five years – but now it’s coming.”

http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/870838205?-21310:8643:0

Even as much as people love to give credits to Conte for moulding Moses into the player we all admire (and he Conte also enjoy receiving the credits). I totally disagree, Moses' fortune changed after his impressive display against Lecester City in the FA cup (he single handedly gave hope to a Chelsea that was 2 goals down). Meanwhile, before that match Conte never trusted him enough to start a single match for Chelsea, it was Moses' personal development and determination with the encouragement from Mikel that made him what he is today.
By the way, I'm a Chelsea fan

Yaya Toure has not played regularly in the role he is playing for Manchester City In this period. He is now playing mostly as a deep lying playmaker unlike as a box to box midfielder as he I known. Earlier this season, Yaya Toure was frozen out with Zero game time. After a long time, he took up a different role and excelled.

Sane, this season, not Schalke did not have game time. Yet came in and excelled. Or are you saying a player can have minutes at a small club, bench a whole season and play at a top form?

Iheanacho burst into the scene of Manchester City, in his first start, won the man of the match. Before Iwobi became a regular at Arsenal, he did not have game time, came in, did well and dumped Walcott on the bench.

Myth.

Ighalo was one of the quality strikers of the EPL in the first half of the season. With regular playing time, he lost form. Why did the game time not make him even better? Instead it made him worse. Myth.

They call someone like Ighalo one season wonder... He is not in the class of Iheanacho, Iwobi etc. (talent wise).

Only Madrid, man utd, Portuguese and some Chelsea fans cum Barca haters will say Ronaldo is any where close to Messi. The rest of the unbias world who are largely neutrals know Messi is miles better than Ronaldo.

In all honesty these two should not even be compared.
Messi is mentioned alongside maradonna, Pele while Ronaldo should be compared with the likes of Neymar, Suarez etc no offence

Y shld Chelsea fans hate messi Is it because of the numerous goals he has scored against us I tire ooo... Sum Chelsea fans like him while sum don't, stop making a big deal out of it

Lecester are doing well in UCL does that make them a power house EPL Wise up bro Champions League is diff compared to EPL (ask Liverpool- years back doing well in UCL but only struggles in the league).

Yeah, Messi cannot play in the EPL. Just look at what Messi's bench warmers (Yaya Toure, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro etc.) are doing in the EPL....at least, that would tell you that Messi cannot play in the EPL. Bizarre people!!

And by the way, while at it, we should refuse to rate Mikel Jordan and Kobe Bryant as good Basketball players because they ended their careers with one team. Some of you guys are just pure retards angry

That Yaya that you called a benchwarmers can oust any of your midfield player (excluding Iniesta) from their positions. Pedro got into the team because of Willian's mother death... He will soon go back to his best position (bench).

So because Lecester are doing well in UCL does that make them a power house EPL Wise up bro Champions League is diff compared to EPL (ask Liverpool- years back doing well in UCL but only struggles in the league).
Also look at it dis way, can u say because Chelsea beats Barcelona soooo Chelsea can also beat every team barca can beats

I never said there won't be godfatherism in our politics any longer. I just informed you people are getting tired of it in the SW.
Have you asked yourself what could make all those Tinubu's boys of yesterday become his political enemies today?
You don't think overbearing and domineering tendency of Tinubu on Fashola, Fayemi, Akeredolu, and a few others is bad?

No doubt he discovers quality personality but he must check his own excesses too.

What do you think could have happened btw him and Ambode if the later refused to represent him at a function just about two months into his governorship? Was it right for a sitting governor to represent any otger person in a state no matter how influential the person is?
I have nothing against Tinubu except that he overestimates his influence and power.

**The bolded part** They are sycophants, just doing things now to secure favor from the sitting president

It's wrong to think the outcome will be same.

OBJ/PDP used crude approach and forced lootocractic regimes on SW which eventually crashed as a result of people getting tired of misgorvernance offered by them.

This time, no crude or massive suppression of people's will which could make people rise against APC. The process that produced Akeredolu was freer, cleaner and more credible. As such, there can't be any sympathetic vote for Tinubu or any party he floats. If anything, SW is becoming tired of his godfatherism politics.

So, don't put your hope so high.

Are you SW and even if u are, u can't speak for the majority

To be honest with you, it's Tinubu that ridiculed himself, not anyone else. Imagine a politician of his calibre in the APC, descending to the level of supporting another party's candidate during the elections for selfish interests...it is simply absurd.

If anyone needs to close ranks, it's Tinubu for betraying his party. In fact an apology from him would not be out of place. This is the simple truth, let's call a spade, a spade.

Good morning.

To apologise to a party that keep undermining his influence after his input into the eventual emergence of their candidate as the president... that is really laughable undecided

Let us stop the self deceit. The real owners of Nigeria have spoken and Aketi did the smart thing by submitting to them. Nigeria was made for the sahelians and they are well pleased with it. I admire the consistency of Tinubu and his loyalists on here. Surely he did and is doing a great job with Lagos. But just like the Lagos and everything else in this nation the true Lords determine what happens.

I've preached this numerous times ; submit and accept the pecuniary benefits of cooperation with the conquerors. It is the only way to progress politically in Nigeria - albeit from a personal POV. Tinubu would go on to be immortal in the SW for standing his ground. However is that worth it ? Not the apotheosis, rather the prospective loss of political capital outside the SW. Please Sir like the Kings of old ; offer your firstborn daughters and turn the other way to the gold. Shut your ears to their cries. For it could be worse.

A lot of folks are myopic on nairaland, simply tell how akeredolu insulted tinubu Meanwhile tinubu is the childish and clueless person here, just because his own candidate does not emerge he supported a baseless accusation on primary election, and withdrew support for akeredolu even when he is the leader of the party and failed to show face during the consecutive campaign for the candidate, and secretly supported an AD candidate shamelessly in an aim to protect his godfatherism, what childishness is more than that.Even so akeredolu was calm and sangfroid .Akeredolu deserves respect not all this nonsense you and your blind tinubu supporters are saying.AKEREDOLU HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG undecided

In Yoruba land you don't ridicule your father even if he has done something wrong (which he apparently hasn't because the pry was rigged just to wane Tinubu's influence).

Yorubas will say "It is only a shameless person that will say that if a member of his family is ridiculed, he his not ashamed". Yorubas are Yorubas worst enemy (putting another above your own for selfish reasons).

Claude Puel's current work with Nathan Redmond is very very good and interesting.

Puel is a fantastic talents-moulding manager/coach.

Look, Sir GoodJoe, I have already said it before in my long epistle on this matter. I LIKE GUARDIOLA'S WORK WITH YOUNG PLAYERS LIKE NACHO BUT I DONT TRUST HIM WHEN IT COMES TO PLAYING TIME FOR NACHO.

PEP GUARDIOLA IS NOT THE ONLY FANTASTIC TALENTS-MOULDING COACH AROUND.

There's Mauricio Pochettino also and a few more.... The only difference is they unlike Guardiola will give Nacho playing time as he develops on the training ground also.

And WHAT THE HECK IS PEP PLANNING BY WANTING TO BRING ANOTHER BIG NAME PLAYER WORTH MILLIONS OF EUROS OR POUNDS TO THE ETIHAD?? IS GABRIEL JESUS NOT ENOUHH PILL TO SWALLOW?

He still wants Neymar? Messi? When a Nacho is there to focus all his energy on and a Gabriel to join in january?? I asked this same question few pages back and I ask it again... WHAT'S WRONG WITH PEP??

Definitely not, but he will surely be ahead of Janssen who has been given enough time to impress in the absence of Kane (who wil not be fit at all times) but has always under perform.

I have stressed that there is more things I feel Iheanacho should add to his game. So, the talk of giving him opportunity to show his skills does not add up.

Thegoodjoe I respect some of your contributions and others too (thesupernerd inclusive) but I want you to look at this Iheanacho's situation from a different perspective tho. A professor (Guardiola) tells a young Dangote (Iheanacho) "You will never make it in biz if you do not discard your opinions in biz and follow my advice" gringringrin (one formula does not work for everyone because we are humans and not chemicals). Come to thinks of it without the influence of a particular coach both messi and Ronaldo would have attained this same height notwithstanding.

Iheanacho needs to move to Spurs (if the rumours are anything to go by undecided) where he can actually get more playing time, the arrival of Jesus cool (who I guess will be Guardiola's 1st choice for so many reasons) will even reduce his game time which is not so encouraging as of now (even when Aguero was NOT FULLY FIT... Says a lot)... My opinion tho grin grin grin
