omogidi234: Big congratulations oh!
Next time time if you are taking something that is not yours and you found another similar, please call the owner to help.
Same thing happened somewhere in Omole, Lagos some years ago.
Someone told his friend to help pick something from his Toyota Highlander, the friend got downstairs and saw two Toyota Highlander cars, same model, slightly different colour, parked beside each other, the guy just guessed and opened one ( I was amazed that the key can open another), alas, he opened the wrong one and owner shouted thief. If not for explanation and that the other guy came down, maybe the guy would have been mobbed. This things happen so fast and so coincidentally |

It is no longer a far fetched fact that the daily living condition in our country has by great measures deteriorated to the worst ever since independence.
even during the civil war not every part of the country was in this level of pandemonium/strife/hunger/lack/penury/wailing and pressure.
the above conditions have directly led to depression especially in the minds of the average Nigerian youth. the resultant effect and aftermath of the whole are crime and jungle justice respectively.
I am necessitated to write this piece as a result of the alarming increase in jungle justice in our society and with the sole aim of letting Nigerians and Africans especially her youths know that sometimes/most times the jungle justices are jungle mistakes; and ofcourse we know how irreversible the end result is.
MY STORY
For avoidance of doubts this event happened to me 29th december 2016 in enugu state
i had traveled to my state for the festive. on this fateful day, i was hanging out with my goons at about 9pm. i got a call from a girl i had met somedays before of whom i really wanted to have a date with but wasnt successful due to her busy nature.
her call was a breakthrough to my request cos she had suggest that i com down to her place to keep her company and then discuss what ever issue it was i have been proposing.
looking at the time and knowing fully well that i had nothing less than an hour thirty minutes to get there and discuss what ever i had in mind, it was necessary for me to be faster with my mobility.
realizing that one out of the guys i was with had a bike i quickly requested that he gave me his keys so i could rush down to somewhere and be back in no time.
my dude gave me his keys and pointed to the bike.
getting there i found out that there where three similar bikes (same colour, brand, and all) parked at same place. my discretion was simply to try the key on any one and that it should start the right one.
the first trail was all i needed cos the very first bike i tried started. with joy i took off memorizing my toast lines.
i got to the girlz place and we were having a smooth discussion until suddenly i noticed a group of guys gathering outside the gate where i had parked my bike. all with different types and sizes of weapons. the girl was starting to feel uncomfortable so i had to find out what was wrong.
getting there the guys (now a complete mob) asked who parked the bike and ofcourse with no fears i said ME. to be sincere that was the last word i said cos that was the last word i could say for i was pounced on, hit, beaten, stabbed, etc
the whole scenario took a worse turn when the girl was asked who i was and she said she doesnt know .
at this point i was on the floor with a Tyre on my neck. fuel was taken from same bike i had ridden on the question now was who would light the spark on me. the event took enough time and at this point the owner of the bike started calling me to return.
being incapacited to pick my call, on of the mob picked for me. i guess with the hope of letting the caller know i was a thief ready to be burnt.
but my story took a miraculous turn when the caller said "enshi wey my bike nah ... i want dey go house"
it was then they started asking my caller who he was and that he should come down to where his friend was about to be burnt
he told other guys with him at the bar and in no time they were at the spot. i was already soaked in blood and could not talk.
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED??
the keys to my guyz bike was a master key and could start any bike, i tried it on the wrong bike and left on it. the owner wanted to leave and couldnt find his bike. so they set out with a search team and found it parked outside the compound where i was.
i was rushed to the hospital treated and was good. i recovered quick cos of the vindication i felt. and i forgave all except that girl.
what if my guy didnt call when he did what if i didnt go with my phone what if there was a lighter readily available what if i was burnt
say no to jungle justice embrace legal/judicial/parliamentary procedures.
the court, the police the truth cant not fail at the same time.

secretsuccess: my name is joshua a chemical engineering graduate. it is so difficult to survive as a hardworking, honest and God fearing person here in Nigeria. After my NYSC i have been struggling from place to place, looking for opurtunities. i always shuttle from lagos to portharcourt...thinking that one day it will be well. i just discovered that it will never be well..
When we were in secondary school we were told to get a good course..my parents were happy when i got chemical engineering..then in school it was get a good result..that was no problem, i got a second class upper.
Ater service it was get certified..ahh, no wahala.. i got my NEBOSH certificate..then again some said it was connection..ok, i joined lots of proffesional whatsapp groups after much work, i even had to pay for some...funny enough the so called proffesional group failed woefully.
twice i was called for a job brief..twice i was rejected..the first reason was because i am igbo the woman saw my name and her countenance changed though she dashed me 2k and told me the usual words i would get back to you..ok, fair enough. The second was in portharcourt i was rejected because of my church..Roman catholic.. hmmm. A young man was also rejected for same reason he kept on complaining while i was just laughing..though later i begged him for #100 for my TP, he gave me sha.. he is a nice man.
ok. i had to go back to the drawing board..met some people and they said i should just do further courses..oooo! course again, ok.. no wahala. i begged my mum to sell her bike for 110k so i can add 30k and do process safety and loss prevention..she accepted.. i sold the bike and did the course.. yet, no interview call. i said ok let me visit companies and give them the cv..my brother no show.
i sat still again..and then reviewed my cv..paid 2k for push CV to review the cv..still no luck.. downloaded CV review app used it time and time again. same results.. no calls.
the only thing i get everyday is insults from my Father and some relatives of how lazy and weak i am...this is not fair life itself is not fair..is it not better to die? after working hard in school and after school for about 8-10 years no result for it..
People will always say dont be tired but my brother i don tire... i know many of us have same story, but for me the only thing i can do to make the pain easy.. is write..
Nigeria is not worth it.. did i tell you i briefly went into business?.. but how can you do well in business without long time experience.. it is always difficult..well, the pressure is much and i see that breaking point is close... only God knows Tomorrow.
These days the only thing that comes to my mind is suicide..i have downloaded lots of books to see if i can find a solution.. but none yet.. please if you have good advice for me i am willing to hear it.
thanks E Joshua Firstly, let me start by saying congratulations cos believe me this thread getting on to front page solves ur problem half way if not completely... Secondly find out the best possible ways to appreciate the kind mod who did this miracle for you... Then listen to this : Was in your shoes a month ago... I went back to status quo with God. 2. There is no number 2 cos number one is all you need to do. Just like you a similar thread of mine hit the front page and that was it Lastly bro please start training your self on office etiquetes cos when and where God is taking you will blow your mind.. Some birds are not meant to be caged, their feather are too bright their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go or they fly past you when you open the cage to feed them and some how the part of you that thinks it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices. At the end the empty vaccum created by their freedom is what hunts you and not the freedom it self |

meiyol: I just lost my relationship due to genotype issues..he is AS and I'm AS. We knew abt our genotype incompatibility frm the very first day..we were cool with it or so i thought. We were together for a year nd some months before we switched to long distance relationship cos of his job. I'm a med student, he is a doctor, so we both knew wat it meant. I was cool with it cos the signs were there that God put us together..everybody knows it, his parents, my parents..we ourselves knew it that our paths were ordained by God.. Then suddenly, from nowhere, he comes up with dangers of having sickler kids, the diseases they face, their pain and all..he suddenly stopped talking abt d fact that we may be lucky not to have any of our kids as sicklers, or medical methods we could use like IVF and all..our parents are both aware of the genotype ish, mine are very okay with it. He said he's not sure his parents are okay with it and yet they call me EVERYDAY to assure me nothing will go wrong and to cheer me up and all.. i questioned him cos it made me feel he was looking for an opportunity to leave..and he didnt give me any reply, just stopped talking to me. Our introduction was slated for next year, he is my first love, I've been so loyal nd i pray for him.. I feel so used and heartbroken..my instincts tell me something is wrong..I'm back to square 1, where would i start from? He was my best friend, my everything..now, it's just me I am AA and A+ i dont mind being friends... |
