css is easy all you have to do is learn it rightly, basics first then advance, dont take it to serious like javascript, as you move on you will discover some frameworks and what javascript can do easily with your styling.

dark web is not boring, dark web and deep web are about 80% of the internet.

i will say that if you are visiting the dark web you have to be very careful because, there is a lot of criminal activities there among which you find, girls trafficking, abuse, children porn, hire assassin, drugs, money trafficking.

there are few role to rocking the dark web if you dont want to get into trouble. dont visit any link you dont know where it taking you, dont view or click link you know the site is into criminal activities. just know that top secret agents in the world are their to and watching all your moves.

sweet thing about dark web is that you have the likes of facebook, bitcoin and email other legitimate business there too.

i will a sure that if you are decent and mindful, you will miss road and it could lead you to long term jail, as little as clicking a child porn or trying to pay to get access to some site can take your peace if you are caught, you dont have to be the criminal, just patronizing alone can end badly.

great things about dark web are, chai plenty, private email, wallet, facebook, other social media, forum, first class information in the right place if you know what i mean which i doubt, cheap goods not stolen if you are at the right shop, think of a better service of anything you get on a normal web, yet from good shop and not bad ones ooo.

lastly please stay away from dark web if you know you are the curious type that will not stay where you belong(right place).

now, some people will find dark web easy to browse while opposite is the case for some, reason.

most people will want to remain anonymous why in dark web and those software slow down the site loading.

i will advice that before you start visiting dark web you make your research on vpn, onion browser, and other necessary things.

I am of a strong believe that Nigerian youths can make things happen and with one voice we can be heard without violence.

End SARS protest is a good prove that Nigeria has a future and brighter days ahead.

I will like to use this medium to provoke Nigerian Youths Anger against our scam tight environment.

We are brave, smart and unique and we deserve a better treatment, good comments and most importantly responsible status in and outside our community.

Let us use one voice used to end SARS to also end scamming, cyber fruad and 419 in our community and outside.

Well, jquery is an old library, but I will advice you learn it just to have an idea, there is a chance you will still come across it in your career as a developer, but don't waste your time on jquery,
a week of playing around it is enough.

Try to check the likes of Vue, React, Angular.

The truth is I still use jquery in small scale projects, it cool and lovely. Funny enough I don't see myself not using it even in few years.

You have the right to know as much as you want to. The purpose of learning new things is more important.

To code this in a way that ones the real owner use the link the link will not be active again for another user even for the right owner of the link is possible.

It comes with it ups and downs.

The ups are you will be able to create a link for a single user and also for a one time use

The down side is, rightful owner should have access to his book even if he loose his own copy

The only way to achieve this is to create a system and my recommended system is the following

The link should be generated dynamically and only the owner should be able to use the link. Ones the link is used automatically the link should be revoke and another link should be generated which should not be send to the rightful owner email again but should be accessable on dashboard to the rightful owner on your site if in future he needs it

If the user request to download this PDF again another valid link should be sent to the user email pointing to the PDF just like the first way and ones it downloaded the link should revoke

Now, you can restrict user download time 3, and if a user is downloading same file more than 3 times you can tender a kyc form to be filled and also send a customised PDF for a legal action to be taken if the user bridge the contract and agreement, also if you use python you can even generate this PDF with a unique password at all time, with python lots of customization can be down.

I believe other scripting language can do anything but I think python make it fast and easier.

Framework seems essential to build fast and kinda make thing easier for other programmers to read and follow your code, presently am redesigning the site with a framework called slim framwork.

Slim is just a mini or micro PHP framwork powerful and gives you more control over whatever you want to do and how you want to do it, unlike Laravel that has it way of doing things that you have to follow.

Some programmer have said slim is just a route app I don't say otherwise but everything lavarel can do slim can do by bringing necessary modules into you apps.

At the early state of my programming career I did not give UI and UX into much look, also JavaScript but building an enterprise site from scratch to finish let me understand the you can't say no to king JS if you really want your product to look good.

Also I will want incoming programmers to know that know body will help you to do what you have to do so you better start doing whatever you ever wanted to do now else you will never do anything.

There are much to say that came my way while building the site but the above are just the reasonable challenges and expirence I faced.

Some of other things I face but can't talk much about are.

1. Changing of machines
2. Installation challenges
3. Internet challenges
4. Accurate information when needed asap
5. Comfort of programming environment
6. Sleepless nights base on research
7. Productivity base on facilities
8. Lose of interest in other things except my project
9. Health and emotion
10. More and more

I will love to take those stuffs one after the other but no time ooo.

Let me know if you will like me to talk on how those things in the list affect and enhances my productivity.

I usually don't do comparisons but sometimes comparisons and competitions can help us grow. Interestingly, the American equivalent of Nairaland, Reddit, started up the same year as nairaland. That's 2005. Well, today, Reddit is light years ahead in everything; talk of functionality, user experience, moderation, security and mobile application.

Well, Nairaland, let's see, uhm, recently they did some work on the UI but I think it can be better.

The text editor? is awful especially when you quote someone else's message. Some colourful demarcation would be better I think.

All subsequent quotes can be tucked in the main post quoted, like parent and child quotes...just like in Reddit. It prevents derailing from the main topic of discourse.

An actual, functional moderator bot to filter out spam and annoying adverts not just for ban.

A DISLIKE button for god's sake! Some as$holes need to know they're posting sh1t and if you get up to say, a hundred dislikes on a post, you get banned for a while.

A drop-down menu is better that the FT, FS stuff, I mean I have a hard time figuring out what they mean, ffs. An actual creative nav bar would be great.

What about an actual app huh? Allergic to that?

Then again, I'm not going to tell anyone how to run their business. I might as well want to build a forum to rival Nairaland someday. So, Nairaland staying archaic would be to my advantage. Uhm...okay that's enough...errm..where are the ugly green emojis again? Oh there they're... I'll grab the cool one

You know what? This should actually be a paid survey. I'm not giving anyone free ideas. I still got a ton of them and if the CEO needs them tell him to holla so we can cut a deal. I have some cool dynamic functionality ideas I can't wait to start building

You can build better and the best forum in the world my brother and that's going to be lovely, but if you think competing with an established firm is the key to a success in the industry then you need to look out the more.

Nairaland is nairaland because it wasn't establish to compete but to provide.....,

Think business and stop thinking features.

Building a forum in future is a good move as you intend.

I love nairaland just the way it is, yet little upgrade is not bad, but sometimes, it not always about what a site look like there are some other things we need to look into.

"When the use of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable" that's what they say. If nairaland is fulfilling it purpose of existence rightly some of this upgrades might not be necessarily important.

Unfortunately only the owner can actually tell and some who are ready to just face the truth.
Firms do have visions and missions and you really don't have to bring in noise or distractions into it if its of no relevents.

Most of these new features or requested feature also need to be looked into as it gonna cost somethings like time, money and more of those in terms of maintainace.

I believe we at the programming section of this best African forum sees the need but do you thing other sections that the real money flows through really cares. Think about that.

Also, most of the people on this forum are here for simplicity and can't handle or don't even care about most of the features we are talking about.

As a programmer and a business owner, with the few experience I have, with smf app things can easily break when trying to add features and little obstruction in access to a forum like this will definitely have adverse effect on users, loosing data also will not be good.

Just as i have said, who are the real people using these forum, do you think they care about the look, do you think if the site add new features they will use it or they even care.

I see Nairaland as an information bank of Africa, and I think the site is ok for that. I seek info, add info, smile reading write ups. I don't want dislike on the naughty to guy post rock because is naughtiness could make me smile another day.

I don't want Nairaland to be like Facebook, I don't feel it should be like some other in features and in look yet am not saying adding new swag will be bad.

I am ones of the opinion that Nairaland should do this and that but getting into the real business world I discover that "you don't sell what you love to sell, you sell what people want to buy" that's if you want to profit from the business.

So tell me do you still think Nairaland will not be getting flows of logins and page view if those features are not implemented in 3months.

Think more about business here and not other wise.

I do have a picture of what Nairaland should look like and one of these days I will drop a post on it.

Day by day I wake up to say, why don't you add this, add like button, add dislike button, let users approve before send message to other user.

Then it begin to turn out to be a serious thing that I must give a good touch daily.

Another challenges come in when I was designing the chat tray, I use jQuery so I have to learn jQuery that presently I don't need it any more, I presently can handle such with pure js.

Then I decided to start all over again, because I believe I now better than the way I started. I left that crappy codes that I have written then start afresh.

More ideas keep flowinging into my head about functionalities that I should add to the site, so thing start getting complicated.

That's what happen when you let your skill get in the way of the real assignment and that's the major mistake I will say I made on pillersmaker site.

The site is loaded with almost all the things I thing I will like to implement with my skills and but more than what the project itself needs

I was able to fix some of this errors easily but there is this particular error that I found so difficult to trace, until I decided to leave the project and download WordPress source code file.

I scatter and read the source code, I found lots of professional ways of writing PHP and handling things. To be that part is the most difficult but the best part of my journey while I was designing the pillersmaker website.

I spend day looking around WordPress source code.

I moved on building day to day, then I can't a month so I decided to get a domin name and hosting package. I decided to use hostnownow as have been using them for long and I really like them.

Uploading my work and I decided to view the site I got load of error. As at that time I feel like why are the page loading on my computer and not online.

The following are few things you have to note to note be in that situation.

1. Make sure you know the version of php you are working on and the version of php preset on your hosting company computer

2. File naming convention, on window if you name your file like public and you refer to it in your program as Public it will work fine but that's an error on any Linux base operating system.

Mind you most servers runs on Linux os

3. Change your database credentials

4. Php is a great language and you must know how to set you php in file for what you want.

There are more but I can't type that much I will update this list later.
