CelebritiesWorld’s Richest Black Woman Folorunsho Alakija Covers Forbes Africa Woman by entadaplace(op): 10:50am On Dec 05, 2013
Foloronsho Alakija, the richest black woman in the world (no, it’s not Oprah) has covered the second edition (December 2013/January 2014) of Forbes Africa Woman.

Here’s what Forbes had to say about the ‘Slick Oil Baroness‘:

And so it came to pass recently that 62-year-old Folorunsho Alakija, the oil baroness from Nigeria, became known as the richest black woman in the world. Alakija, however, is profoundly uncomfortable with the ‘super-rich’ tag. She believes that she is far more than just her fabulous wealth.

A collector’s item this is.

The first issue of Forbes Woman featured on its cover, South Africa’s Precious Moili-Motsepe – businesswoman, chairman Africa Fashion International and wife to Oil Magnate Patrice Motsepe.

CelebritiesWatch Your Tweets! Nigerian Senate Reportedly Wants To Jail Social Media Critics by entadaplace(op): 8:26am On Dec 05, 2013
BBC Africa is reporting that the Nigerian Senate has proposed a bill to jail social media critics who are found guilty of inciting the public against the Nigerian government for (wait for it…) seven years!

‘#Nigeria‘s Senate proposed bill seeks a 7-year jail term for social media critics found guilty of inciting the public against govt‘, @BBCAfrica tweeted hours ago. It is believed this proposed law if passed will cover social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and blogging platforms such as Blogger and WordPress.

Of course, Nigerians are already reacting to the news with questions over their freedom of speech and as expected it’s gone hilarious.

The Nigerian newbie and Ghanaian hunk both star in the thriller ‘Brother’s Keeper‘ which also stars Omoni Oboli. They share a love scene together in the movie. Majid also gets to hit it with Oboli in some other scenes (talk about being lucky huh?).

Ghanaian actors have been known to push the limits. Beverly is one of the few fast rising Nigerian actresses who are ready to push it to the limit when it comes to acting too.

Celebrities“I Didn’t Insure My Boobs” – Cossy Orjiakor Opens Up by entadaplace(op): 1:30pm On Nov 16, 2013
Contrary to news reports that Cossy Orjiakor insured her breasts for a whopping N256 million, the actress has come all out to deny the rumours saying it is “something that somebody just cooked up somewhere.”

The budding singer spoke extensively with the Vanguard saying she decided not to respond to the story because it appeared to be an interesting one so she chose to let it be.

“It’s not true. Sometimes, some of these bloggers just cook up stuffs that are not true. But it sounds so interesting, that’s why I didn’t want to confirm whether it’s true or not. Let the story just be.”

Asked why she chose not to talk about it, Orjiakor said, “It’s because the story is a fiction. Somebody just cooked it up. I don’t know anything about it. I didn’t tell anybody I’m insuring my boobs. It’s something that somebody just cooked up somewhere. The story didn’t generate from me neither did it generate from my Twitter handle or Instagram.”

But does she have any intention to eventually insure her boobs? This is what the controversial singer said: “I might do it, or not…”

Romance12 Ways To Mend A Broken Heart (based On Authors Personal Experience) by entadaplace(op): 12:49pm On Nov 16, 2013
To fall in love is awfully simple, but to fall out of love is simply awful,(no vex if the grammar too heavy ooo) especially if you are the one who wanted the relationship to last. But to stop loving isn’t an option. When those you love deeply reject you, leave you, or die, your heart will be broken.(But e no be plate or glass cup naaa) But that should not hold you back from loving deeply. The pain that comes from deep love makes your love ever more fruitful. But how do we get beyond the pain?

Here are 12 techniques I’ve gathered from experts and from conversations with friends ( and my own tory sef join) on how they patched up their heart and tried, ever so gradually, to move on.

 1. Go through it, not around it.

I realize the most difficult task for a person with a broken heart is to stand still and feel the crack.(Wen you wan form like say nutin do you wen inside of you dey boil). But that is exactly what you must do. Because no shortcut is without its share of obstructions. Here’s a simple fact: You have to grieve in order to move on.(Bible sef talk am naaa..Every disappointment na blessing oo). During the 18 months of my severe depression,(I suffer small oo) my therapist repeated almost every visit: “Go through it. Not around it.”(Reason dat ord well, difference dey oo) because if I went around some of the issues that were tearing me apart inside,(all d gbege just happen at once) then I would bump into them somewhere down the line, just like being caught in the center of a traffic circle. By going through the intense pain, I eventually surfaced as a stronger person ready to tackle problems head on. Soon the pain lost its stronghold over me.

 2. Stand on your own.

One of the most liberating thoughts I repeat to myself when I’m immersed in grief and sadness is this: “I don’t need anyone or anything to make me happy.”(Just dey dance) That job is all my own, with a little help from God. When I’m experiencing the intense pangs of grief, it is so difficult to trust that I can be whole without that person in my life. But I have learned over and over again that I can. I really can. It is my job to fill the emptiness, and I can do it … creatively, and with the help of my higher power.

 3. Detach.

Attempting to fill the void yourself–without rushing to a new relationship or trying desperately to win your lover back–is essentially what detaching is all about. The Buddha taught that attachment leads to suffering. So the most direct path to happiness and peace is detachment. In his book, Eastern Wisdom for Western Minds, Victor M. Parachin tells a wonderful story about an old gardener who sought advice from a monk. Writes Parachin:

“Great Monk, let me ask you: How can I attain liberation?” The Great Monk replied, “Who tied you up?” This old gardener answered, “Nobody tied me up.” The Great Monk said, “Then why do you seek liberation?”

4. List your strengths.

As I wrote in my “12 Ways to Keep Going” somewhere in my writing pad (I cnt even find it after a friend who got heart broken came visiting), a technique that helps me when I feel raw and defeated to try anymore, is to list my strengths. I say to myself, “Self, you have been sober for 20 years!! (Even though I am jst a little older than that) Weaklings can’t pull off that! And here you are, alive, after those 18 months of intense suicidal thoughts (believe me. It asnt easy). Plus you haven’t smoked a cigarette since that last text message sent to her back in December of last year!” I say all of that while listening to one song that helped in healing my wounds, and by the last line, I’m ready to tackle my next challenge: move on from this sadness and try to be a productive individual in this world. If you can’t list your strengths, start a self-esteem file.

 5. Allow some fantasizing.

Grief wouldn’t be the natural process that it should be without some yearning for the person you just lost. If you are trying to banish a sexual fantasy from your head, telling yourself “I’m not going to fantasize about her” or “I won’t think about what it would be like to be intimate with him” might make it worse: (even though e take style hard shaa). In a famous psychological study from the 1980s, a group of subjects were told to think about anything but whatever they did, they were not supposed to think about a white bear. Guess what they all thought about?

6. Help someone else.

When I’m in pain, the only guaranteed antidote to my suffering is to box up all of my feelings, sort them, and then try to find a use for them. When you turn your attention to another person–especially someone who is struggling with the same kind of pain, you forget about yourself for a split moment. And let’s face it, on some days, that feels like a miracle.

 7. Laugh. And cry.

Laughter heals on many levels and so does crying. You think it’s just a coincidence that you always feel better after a good cry? Nope, there are many physiological reasons that contribute to the healing power of tears. Some of them have been documented by biochemist William Frey who has spent 15 years as head of a research team studying tears. Among their findings is that emotional tears (as compared to tears of irritation, like when you cut an onion) contain toxic biochemical byproducts, so that weeping removes these toxic substances and relieves emotional stress. So go grab a box of Kleenex and cry your afternoon away.

Romance25 Interesting Perks Of Being A Man by entadaplace(op): 3:03pm On Nov 13, 2013
While appearing for an interview, you aren’t expected to bend forward while talking to the interviewer. Neither is aptitude judged by the shape and size of your rear

1.  You never require someone else to fix the tyre for you. Those superhuman hands that have a way with the tightest of jars and the courage to fix nude electric wires without so much of a blink of the eyelid are socket-ed right into your body.

2.  Neither do you care about repeating clothes nor does the world keep a record of how many times you’ve already worn that shirt before. A single suitcase suffices for even a week-long trip.

3. Other men never ogle at your chest while talking to you – unless, you’re Anil Kapoor. If you are, we must advise you to keep the gross foliage from peeking out of the tiniest of gaps between the shirt and your chest.

4. While appearing for an interview, you aren’t expected to bend forward while talking to the interviewer. Neither is aptitude judged by the shape and size of your rear.

5. Nudity in movies almost always implies naked women. It’s amazing how cinema is custom made for us men, showing us exactly what we want to see on the screen.

6. You can wear your favourite white T-shirt to the water park or the beach. But if you’re hiding man-boobs bigger than Pamela Anderson’s assets under that shirt, this one isn’t for you. White is banned for you.

7. Nobody stops telling that dirty joke when you suddenly walk in to the room. Rather, they rope you in the gang with every guy telling the dirtiest joke they’ve ever heard. It is never an embarrassing moment, always a means to bond more over the laughs.

8. If you’re the regular guy without any weird fetishes that involve wearing women’s lingerie, you will never face embarrassing strap problems in public.

9. You never miss out on any opportunity involving sex just because you are not in the mood, because you always are. It means endless possibilities and opportunities of having sex whenever we want!

10. Red, Blue, Yellow and Green are the only four colours you are expected to know of (black and white are oh-so-common). And if you’re able to additionally spot a Fucsia or a Mauve, you’re definitely getting laid.

11. As a man, you are genetically programmed to devote almost all of your time in thinking about sex. You’re gifted with the ability to do so at a stretch without other important things making their way to your mind. You can incessantly indulge in your wildest fantasies throughout the day without so much of a hint of guilt.

12. You do not need to buy any gifts or chocolates before visiting your friend. And it is absolutely alright for you to eat the chocolates on your own; the ones you may have bought for them, on the way.

13. You can ask the chemist for a pack of condoms, without caring about the fact that he might picture you naked, or worse, imagine you doing what naked people do.

14. You do not need a separate room for your dear shoes. Those three favourite pairs solve the purpose completely.

15. You do not need to end your friendship with your childhood friend just because he skipped you out of the guest list for his fifth birthday party by mistake that happened twenty years ago.

CelebritiesBlackmagic Didn’t Credit For For ‘repete’ - Saeon by entadaplace(op): 9:04am On Nov 08, 2013
Pop singer Seun Oni better known Saeon has caused a mini-uproar on Twitter attacking two music artistes in Nigeria – Victoria Kimani and Blackmagic.

First off, she called Kenyan artiste Victoria Kimani‘s recently released mixtape ‘a fail’. Mentioning theChocolate City artiste on Twitter, Saeon said ‘@Victoria_Kimani. My last tweet goes to you. I wanna say I respect you as an artist. But I can’t tell such a lie. Your mixtape = Fail!!!‘.

Saeon went on to ask ‘How can you be a signed artist and churn out such trash? Then they let you release these?‘. Responding to a Twitter user who thought she had gone overboard with the tweets, she said ‘so cos I’m an artist I shouldn’t have an opinion about another artist’s work? Especially when it’s crap? LOL‘.

Kimani who has made Nigeria her second home since signing with Chocolate City in November 2012, dropped a number of singles and then released her ‘Queen Victoria‘ mixtape a few weeks ago. It was met with average reviews from music critics.

No word from Kimani or her camp but the Pop singer seems to be ignoring Saeon’s ‘diss‘ and has been retweeting the link to her mixtape and Channel O Awards 2013 nomination.

Meanwhile, Saeon has revealed that she ‘wrote the best part’ of rapper Blackmagic‘s hit tune ‘Repete‘.Arguably his biggest record yet, Repete was released in November 2012 with a video premiered in May 2013.

Saeon says she had worked on a previous song titled ‘Foreigner‘ which was released on the rapper’s debut album ‘Blackmagic Version 1.0‘ and that he wanted her to record a longer version because he wanted to shoot a video for it. She called him a ‘black goat’ too…

Her tweets below…

‘Repete was the last straw!!! Lol, after spending hours in the studio with that one, who by the way used the sessions as a front to get me to write a longer verse for foreigner that I’d done a feature on, (of which I murked the mufucka on his own track), claiming he wanted to shoot a video for it. I wrote the best part of what y’all now know as Repete. Even voiced it sef. Next thing I know, he’s out claiming full props denying that I wrote his hook, saying he writes all his songs. Bullshit! And that is why some people never move forward!! Lol I can’t even blame the black goat no more. But after all that you now think I should work with a mufucka? WHERE TF DO THE DO THAT AThuh‘, Saeon narrated on her Twitter.

Blackmagic also hasn’t responded but his rep, Osagie Osarenkhoe of M.et.al Management says Blackmagic and Saeon will settle it out.

CelebritiesI Have Never Had Plastic Surgery – Jennifer Lopez by entadaplace(op): 8:48am On Nov 08, 2013
The ‘Dance Again’ hitmaker has hit back after a British plastic surgeon, Ayham Al-Ayoubi, suggested she‘showed many signs‘ of having work done to her face. The 44-year-old star was clearly unimpressed with his medical opinion and tweeted: ‘@DrAyoubi Sorry Sir, but I have never had plastic surgery of any kind. #fact’

The actress responded to the plastic surgeon, who is based in London, after he tweeted a split-screen photographs of her and wrote: ‘These before and after pics of @JLo show many signs of #plasticsurgery – naturally pretty but now looks amazing.’

He later added: ‘U are naturally a very beautiful woman and look great, sometimes clever makeup can enhance features slightly changing their appearance @JLo’ But following Jennifer and her fans’ reaction, the medic claimed his assistant was responsible for the tweets.

He wrote on Tuesday November 5, 2013: ‘Dear @JLo I wonder if you can accept my sincere apologies about the wrong tweet which was written by my assistant without my knowledge…. ’I sincerely apologise to @JLo and her fans. I want to remind everyone it was NOT me who sent that wrong tweet! it was my assistant. (sic)’

The ‘American Idol‘ judge recently revealed that she learnt to stand up for herself from an early age as she was criticised for her appearance and curvy figure early in her career. She said: ‘You have to stand up and say, ‘There’s nothing wrong with me or my shape or who I am; you’re the one with the problem!’ And when you can really believe that, all of a sudden other people start believing too.’

Music/RadioWande Coal, Don Jazzy And Shizzi – The ‘baby Face’ Controversy by entadaplace(op): 12:18pm On Nov 06, 2013
I must clearly state that i am not particularly sure if this is just a twitter fake up or reality because it is very hard to have foreseen this.

Don Jazzy has slammed former label mate Wande Coal for allegedly stealing one of his songs titled ‘Baby face’.

Wande Coal released a new single ‘Baby face’ under his Black Diamond Entertainment today yesterday, November 5, 2013 and shortly after Don Jazzy took to Twitter to make a quick rant not divulging details.

‘How long will i continue 2 sweat and some people will choose to steal from me. I am nice and easy going doesn’t mean u should disrespect me‘, Don Jazzy tweeted with the subject of the matter left in the dark.

It didn’t take long before he tweeted his own version of ‘Baby face’ explaining that he had recorded a studio demo about a year ago, going ahead to tweet a link to his own version describing Wande Coal’s action as INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY THEFT’.

Don Jazzy added ’I honestly expected y’all to come at me with me being childish. But enough is enough. even if i send my legal team on him una go complain 2.‘. ‘I can decide to shut him down with one call. but didnt. all i ask for is ‘give me my credit’ and nothing else‘.

Sources have told us that Wande Coal’s parting with Don Jazzy and his Mavin Records record label was filled with bitterness, betrayal and disloyalty. The current actions by both A-list artistes support the claims.

Wande Coal before now had formed a strong affiliation with producer Don Jazzy shortly after label Mo’Hits Records closed shop. Don Jazzy drafted his label mates – younger brother D’Prince, Dr SiD, Wande Coal and added a new face Tiwa Savage to launch his Mavin Records. But shortly after, there were stories of the label not being able to support the artistes.

On one occasion, Wande Coal was heard telling another artiste while in the UK that Don Jazzy did not have the financial capacity to carry the label. Less than a year after Mavin Records launched, Wande left the label setting up his Black Diamond Entertainment outfit taking along with him the MAVIN official disc jockey DJ Spinall.

Along with his manager Nana Abbey, Wande now operates on his own. We are told D’banj’s former manager John ‘Bankulli’ Abisagboola is also working with Wande Coal.

See Don Jazzy’s tweet:

Wande Coal has thrown hierarchy and what’s left of the respect he has for Don Jazzy out of the window by calling his former boss out, after the latter accused him of stealing his song ‘Baby face’. As reported earlier, Wande Coal released a new single ‘baby face‘ under his Black Diamond Entertainment label only for Don Jazzy to release a previously recorded version accusing Wande of intellectual property theft.

Well, Wande has also responded on Twitter accusing his former Mavin Records boss of not being ‘happy with his progress after serving him for 10 years’. It gets dirtier as Wande Coal accuses Don Jazzy of suffering from ‘twitter attention syndrome’.

‘It is with SAD heart i make this response. steal from you? i served for 10 years why are you not happy with my progress. you have my phone number, email address and my DM to communicate with me but you choose twitter attention syndrome. fter all these years of been loyal to you i can never believe you will ever say this to me. trying to bring me down on twitter‘.

He then caps it up with a bold statement ‘you are not GOD .. you can’t stop me‘.

Don Jazzy wasn’t quick to back down as he counter responded Wande Coal’s tweets;

‘Im glad u now know that there is a God. if i want to stop you, why would i do The Kick with you introducing black diamond? if i want to stop you why would i allow you release Rotate without my company credit. Why would i allow u perform around d world.’

For now, we aren’t sure if the case will go to court but Don Jazzy as hinted at the possibility. Sources however tell us that it might be a bit of a bother as none of the artistes who left Mo’hits Records inked a deal with Mavin. ‘It was all word of mouth‘, an insider in the Mavin camp tells us.

On Shizzi

Top music producer, Sheyi ‘Shizzi’ Akerele, Who happens to be a friend way back in South Africa before he relocated to Nigeria with Maye Hunter, who has now relocated to the USA.
He produced Wande Coal’s version of the controversial song ‘Baby Face’, which Don Jazzy says was stolen from him, has released a statement explaining his involvement in the whole issue. He mentions that he produced Wande’s hit song ‘Go Low’ which he never got credit for. – A close source to Shizzi wrote.

See Shizzi”s statement below…

I have heard and seen some folks rants about me stealing production credit for Wande Coal’s new single “Baby Face” and I would like to clarify this issue. I was only doing my job by making the beat for Wande and that’s what I did. I don’t see any reason why people should jump into quick conclusions without taking their time to really dig into the matter for facts.

Two years back, I remember I created a demo for Wande Coal’s “Shawty Go Low” and someone else took the credits. I was in shock because I had plans to finish the song with Wande and was hoping it would be released as a single which I produced. Here is the link to the original version of “Go Low

If i could read that well, Shizzi is saying he didn’t get the credit for Wande Coal’s “Go Low”, which was originally produced by him and later re-produced by Don Jazzy, while Don Jazzy is complaining of practically the same thing to but a different song.

All this flying 3 days no sleep clubbing working meetings etc.. It was time my body crashed on me‘, Bow Wow tweeted on November 3, 2013, the same day as the concert.

Luckily for the organizers, Bow Wow’s appearance was meant to be a surprise on the night of the show. There was no prior announcement made by Guinness Nigeria or from the rapper-turned-TV host so there were no disappointments on the night.

Bow Wow was replaced by stand-up comic Bovi who did an amazing job holding the crowd together, teasing and jumping off stage as he called on the acts of the night. He was later joined by Stephanie Coker and Soundcity’s Pearl Candy.

elf-acclaimed “good girl gone bad”, Rihanna, has done it again. The star has recently gone on a photo sharing spree with each becoming more sultry than the previous.

This time the star is nude on the cover of GQ promoting the magazine’s 25th anniversary and most astounding of all is her latest accessory; a snake!

Rihanna shared these photos (below) on Instagram and she courts controversy even more with her caption in the second photo which shows her with a full head of snakes.

She wrote: ”Medusa head on me like I’m ‘luminati!!!! She. x Damien Hirst #GQ #25thAnniversary #COVER”

Did Rihanna just admit to being a member or is this just a desperate attempt to gain publicity? You be the judge.
