Being afraid to take a chance on your career. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Our 20s are messy. We’re trying to carve a meaningful path, feel significant in our daily lives and navigate the ever-changing social landscape. Stability feels like a luxury when we’re rapidly growing up and altering our courses. And yet, we’re constantly reminded that these are our 20s! The time of our lives! We should be enjoying this random chain of events, strapping ourselves in and riding the roller coaster. But what would make the trip easier? Breaking these habits that preclude us from becoming the people we want to be. Here’s the ultimate list of things every 20-something woman needs to stop doing… 1. Complaining that there are no available, good men. 2. Lamenting about how much you ate and listing all the food items (…and then eating a pizza for dinner). 3. Talking smack about people you like and hang out with. 4. Drunk texting. Seriously, that never ends well. 5. Neglecting your personal health and wellness. It’s important to take care of yourself. 6. Tanning. No excuses. 7. Having unprotected sex. 8. Hating your body and worrying about your weight. 9. Taking nude photos of yourself and thinking they’re safe with your boyfriend. 10. Pretending to be friends with people you no longer care about. You’re not doing anyone a favor. 11. Covering yourself in makeup. 12. Skipping the gym and then whining about not going. 13. Validating yourself by putting others down. 14. Drinking cheap liquor. Do your hangover a favor and upgrade. 15. Beating yourself up – we’re all young and learning. 16. Taking gratuitous selfies. Hate to break it to you, but no one cares. 17. Bi_ching that all men are the same. They aren’t, you know this, and it’s a waste of energy. 18. Stalking your ex on social media. Doesn’t matter what you find, it’s not going to comfort you. 19. Being afraid to take a chance on your career. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. 20. Buying clothes at Forever21 because they are affordable…and then never wearing them. 21. Being mean to your parents. Give them a break, they’ve given you thousands. 22. Texting someone back after they’ve called you. It’s rude. 23. Getting upset over not having a boyfriend. He won’t want you if you’re frowning all the time. 24. Overspending money you don’t have. Live within your means and you’ll never feel stressed about finances. 25. Feeling intimidated by people you don’t know. Chances are they’re actually nice and friendly. 26. Drunk eating…(yeah, right). 27. Comparing yourself to others. You’ll never win. 28. Losing your cellphone — drunkenly or otherwise. 29. Purchasing jeans a size smaller in hopes of finally losing enough weight to fit into them. 30. Immediately responding with “Ew.” READ THE REST HERE |
So I’m sitting on my bed this cold Saturday morning and I’m grateful because it’s an environmental sanitation day and it’s raining! Good excuse to remain in bed I must say. My family’s out on a weekend trip, so there’s no dishes to be done or breakfast to be made. Listening to the rain and The Weeknd’s KissLand album simultaneously, my fingers were itching to do something. I figured I’d write another article after my last compilation on 6 mistakes upcoming artistes make . I read the article again and asked myself; How come artistes who don’t make these mistakes, or have corrected these mistakes still don’t end up being tagged successful artistes? First, what is Success? According to my dictionary, it says it’s an achievement of an action within a specified period of time or within a specified parameter. Success can also mean completing an objective or reaching a goal. Success can be expanded to encompass an entire project or be restricted to a single component of a project or task. It can be achieved within the workplace, or in an individual’s personal life. To some fans, a musician’s success can be measured by the number of followers and fans they have on twitter, some by the endorsements they bag from telecommunication companies, pictures they see of them balling with Hollywood celebrities, or maybe nominations and international awards being won and the likes. To others, it could be a 5-star rated album, Sales of album rights to distributors for a reasonable 6-figure cheque? International recognition and collaborations, or maybe the mad love and massive rotations they get on air and online. From my findings especially in my country Nigeria, nearly every family can boast of an artiste or two and every body wants these artistes they are affiliated with to be somewhat successful or achieve one or three things I mentioned earlier. Well whatever it is you may be gearing for as an artiste, a lot of things may hinder or help your success. I’ve studied a lot of artistes and situations and I compiled a list of 10 factors or elements that may and have hindered many artistes’ successes in their careers as musicians. I’ll speak briefly and fairly on these 10 elements below: The Artiste He/She (as the case may be) is the subject of concern here. They’re held responsible for the successes and failures in their career, regardless other possible factors I’d be mentioning below. The artiste is responsible for the genre of music they embark on whether or not they have the talents to handle that genre. They decide what song(s) to write record or perform depending on what they’re inspired or forced to do. The artiste decides on success or failure with or without knowing it. The artiste is the first person to lie to his or herself, they start the Lying Chain. They lie to themselves on how awesome their music is; therefore expecting everybody to adhere to these lies and just say anything to please their egos and emotions. This, my people is the basic problem most artistes find themselves today. The Funds Money plays a major role in the music industry today. Artistes need money for production, promotion, tours and the likes. It’s only mandatory that an artiste has enough money to kick start a music career. Nobody cares if you’re just an unsigned act anymore, you’ve got to have that paper to be able to breeze pass many obstacles. Funds may come in from the artiste’s pocket, sponsors or even record labels. Without money, efforts may be wasted and honestly, time waits for no man. The Producers They are everywhere today. I mean, anybody with a fair knowledge of Fruity loops and the likes, has a computer, good enough headphones, a mixer and a Mic can pass for a producer today. These producers tell the artiste to bring some small change for a song. Forget the terrible music quality, the producer would never tell the artiste that his music is sub-standard or “wack“, after all that’s what the artiste can afford. Everybody is hustling right? The producer doesn’t care about their feelings or reputations enough to tell them that their songs are sub-standard. So long as they’re ready to pay, he’ll lie to them! Friends and Family They’re supposed to be the people artistes trust. Even if the producer can’t tell them the truth, they rely on family and friends to listen to their music and be sincere with feedbacks. Unfortunately, very few artistes get to be told the truth about what friends and families think of their music. They feel they might hurt their egos and emotions, hence they tell the artistes their songs are going to make hits; which is what the artistes want to hear anyway. The artiste is satisfied with what his “personal people” think of his song or songs and heads on to make promotional plans. Read the rest here |

Hello, I posted this, and honestly there hasnt been any big problem between the boss and fortune. Although bosses and subordinates clashes, that is very normal, not to the extent of paying a fine. Even if they have a clash, Wishing a celebrity a very happy birthday should not be fined.(or what do u think about that) I realized some people listen to the programme and i am happy with that. He has been banned from being on air for 2 days now but we are still on the matter as rugged man himself has promised to step in. The tired reaching rugged man, and we have both vocal and pictorial evidences. The only major evidence we dont have at the moment is the recorded programme which will most likely be deleted cos they are scared. I really do not what to talk more about it. but if i from our side (fortune the presenter) we had no prior hidden agenda nor problem. I am fortune's manager just incase u want to know. read what they had to say on their website rockcityfmradio.com |
It all happened yesterday, while on of tje OAP or Rockcity 101.9fm Abeokuta Edward Fortune (popularly called Fawtchune Toh Badt)was on the afternoon shift between 4 - 4.30pm. Since yesterday was also Rugged Man’s birthday, he took the liberty to wish him very happy birthday. This seems to have angered the Rock City FM boss. The Rock city FM boss claims it was an advert and must be paid for. As at this point we have not been able to confirm if Rugged Man and the boss have has some previous deals. All Mr. Fortune said was ”Happy Birthday to Rugged Man” and in the least of his expectations he was fined 40,000 naira. Rock city FM, 101.9fm is in Abeokuta Ogun state. Real or fake? You’ve probably wondered this more than a few times while checking out a hottie at the bar. Well, since you can’t just outright touch her breasts off the bat, and since you don’t know her well enough to ask, you’re going to have to rely on the tell-tale signs, which can be hard to spot. Here are the things to look for through her clothes that will let you know if she’s the real McCoy or Silicone Ali. what to look for Unnatural shape Most breasts aren’t perfect orbs and they usually aren’t identical. Be on the lookout for the way they hold in place as she moves around (especially her arms), and how they stay almost the same dimension — instead of flattening out — whether she reaches back or even stretches. Furthermore, when she bends over, you should see them fall if they’re real. Watch out for women wearing a constrictive bra to make them come together. The overall shape will still not look right. With such a bra, you won’t be able to notice the outer circles contouring the breasts. Bubbly look On the topic of odd breast shapes, the top of her breasts are bubbled up — just like bubble butts. Fake boobs defy gravity, so they might look like they’re bubbling up. Natural breasts follow a more natural sliding curve line from top to bottom. Overly firm Real breasts are mostly fat, which gives them a jiggle quality; if they look more like solid muscle, you may be in the presence of a pair of fake ones. If they look like balloons that are about to burst, beware. Real boobs do grow with weight gain, but the skin has time to grow with the fat. High up (if she’s not wearing a bra) Breasts should be at about armpit height. But some bad breast jobs start them way too high on the chest, as if she has two flotation devices strapped to her chin. If a woman is not wearing a bra and sports C-sized orbs that stand up, then it’s pretty easy to figure out. The hard ones to pick out are the B cups. They can look real but then you need to spot small abnormalities that a normal breast wouldn’t have. Read more here and see more pix

1.’Love Him With His Flaws’ Indeed, it would be exhausting to give a lesson to your cutie each time he forgets about dirty socks or other more important things. However, there’s always room for change. If you’re really disturbed by some of his flaws, you should find a wise way to help him get rid of unpleasant habits which would make both of you comfortable and happy. Show your boyfriend that you really care with a few nice words as reward him for his good deeds. 2. ‘You Should Have Everything In Common’ This is one of the worst misconceptions when it comes to long-lasting relationships. The fact that you like the same food and visit the same places is not a guarantee for a life-long marriage. Moreover, sharing the same interest and having no new things to tell to each other would make your relationship extremely boring and monotonous. It’s not necessary to look for a guy who is exactly your opposite. Instead, find the golden middle way to make the best option. 3.’ Spend Anniversaries With Special Gifts’ Getting a pricey necklace or any other gift for anniversaries won't help you get through the low periods of your relationship. Therefore, instead of sticking to this cliche, make sure you show your love to your significant other during the boring weekdays. Don’t save great words and confessions to special occasions like anniversaries. Your significant other may consider it a fake and dishonest gesture. 4.’PDA is a Sign of Strong Feelings’ There are different types of guys you meet along the way. In order to decode their true feelings it is important to know more about their preferences, personality and behavior. PDA is one of the most delicate subjects you must tackle to make sure you don’t draw the wrong conclusions. Emotions can be showed in zillion ways, don’t expect your cutie to do it your way. Let him take the initiative and do it his way. READ MORE HERE |

It may seem that former Big Brother Africa The Chase housemate, Pokello Nare’s father does not approve of the ongoing romance between his daughter and fellow housemate Elikem Kumordzi. According to reports, Pokello’s dad, George Nare intentionally avoided meeting Ellikem, during the latter’s visit to Zimbabwe earlier in September, contrary to media reports by the couple that he was busy. EDP gathered that the Retired Colonel chose not to meet with his daughter’s boyfriend allegedly because he believes doing so was against the tradition, which must be strictly observed. ‘My daughter called me and told me she was coming to Bulawayo with her boyfriend and wanted me to meet him, but I was very frank with her and I told her that it was against our tradition…I can only be able to meet him when they come for official introductions’ he reportedly said. George Nare however expressed his support for his daughter, adding that although the relationship is in its early stages, he is prepared to back whatever decision she makes. ‘As a father I believe Pokello is a grown up woman who makes her own decisions and she has chosen to fall in love with this guy, Elikem and her happiness is what counts most to us...All I can do is help her make the best of her life and facilitate her to achieve her goals.’ Pokello is presently in Ghana as part of a courtesy visit to reciprocate Elikem’s earlier visit to her home country in Zimbabwe. Apparently Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a bad gambler, and by bad we mean ‘not good’. The hip-hop star recently lost a staggering $1 million to fellow rapper Rick Ross in a gambling game. Diddy posted a video on his Instagram page on Sunday, September 15, 2013 which appeared to show the moment the star lost in the private dice game in Las Vegas, and captioned it ‘I just lost a million dollars. It ain’t nothing.’ In the video, Diddy is seen rolling dice and then presenting Ross with a handwritten note which reads, ‘To RR, I owe you $1,000,000. Sean Combs’. Ross is also heard saying, ‘Double or nothing right now live… I’m gonna sell that (note) as a piece of art.’ Diddy and Ross were in Sin City, Vegas to watch a boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez live on Saturday night, which ended with a win for Mayweather. It’s been just a few months since Penelope Cruz welcomed her second child but she’s ready to take her clothes off for some summer time hangout at the beach.
