Please don’t take this personal or as an insult, Mr. Eedris Abdulkareem. I am a concern music fan who likes you. I am inspired by your recently recordings “I GO WHOOZ” & the new one “MORINGA”. You’re not my favorite though, but I like your person but has problem with your personality in the face of the public. Discussing with my friends that I have had close relationship or that have really come close to you. I felt bad hearing their views on your personality and your words. It’s sad to hear how humble and nice they said you are but believe me people don’t see you that way. I don’t know how or where to start from but it’s no doubt that the only controversial Nigerian music star Eedris Abdulkareem, is on comeback spotlight radar with his recent singles. It has never happened in the history of the Nigerian Music Industry, that an artiste made a comeback after years of silence. Eedris Abdulkareem has always being a self acclaimed last man standing. Looking back at his past troubles and controversies excluding his glorious years plus the dramatic scenario his song “Nigeria Jaga Jaga” caused him. His issue with 50 cent, Nigerian Brewery and the presidency banned on him then. I have nothing against him but just piece words of advice to you Mr. Abdulkareem. 1st I must confessed I love your never say die spirit. But my major problem with you was your past PR and the way you present yourself. In all honesty you deserve our applause because all the trouble you had came fighting either for your right or for others. The only ‘But’ has always been your later approach and attitude toward certain things and final conclusion. Thinking of it, maybe the people around you are scared to tell you the truth and you end up getting yourself into the bad hands of the public. Your PR then is not a professional I guess, because publicity is not just about controversy alone and bad ones for that matter. For instance, your words on Dbanj and Don Jazzy have become regular gist which people are tired of; even your fans. Listening to your new single “Moringa” which trended for two days across the social media, I felt happy for you because I can sense an historical comeback. Please it will be in your best interest to do away with your old habits which I felt you are already working on.I was at the Felabration 2013 concert and I was fortunate to watch your performance and studied you. I could sense you are humble but your image in the face of the public like i said earlier seems different. Your two recent singles “I GO WHOOZ U” & “MORINGA” are classic tracks that fit in with a chance to become a great hit. Though many have issues with your track “I GO WHOOZ U” with the lines against Don Jazzy. I was surprise also at first until I read the write-up from Gbemi Adesuwa on the issue and I listened to the track again before I understood you were not actually dissing Don Jazzy, how many people do you think will accept you are not? This new track “MORINGA” is not my kind of music though but it’s a good song and i believe it has a better chance. Your next single and conducts will determine if you can achieve an historical comeback sir. Please do away with the spirit of ‘I don’t care’ and start showing you do. You can become great and celebrated again. There is more money in the music business now unlike how it was years back when you championed the game. Your new track “MORINGA” shows you can be a good brand ambassador but you need to prove you can. No brand wants to be associated with an arrogant individual but a good role model. Don't get me wrong sir. Over the years you've proven to be an individual who can be a good role model but you need to clean the past image people had of you and prove to us you’re worthy. We know you've done a lot for this industry but let your music speak it and not you saying it all the time alone. Reporters can push words into your mouth, be wise and I know you’re smart. Don't let them bring you down like they did for many other artistes. Also let me quickly say this, it will be nice for you to take hold of the boy called VTEK because the young man has proven to us that he can be part of your re-branding judging from your two songs with him. We already notice his awesomeness on PSquare’s recent songs including the “Personally” song which was said to be co-produced alongside Paul Okoye of the Psquare. A word they said it enough for the wise. Kindly think about all what I have said sir and take the ones that you felt are truth into use. Please I am begging you because I can see a future ahead of you if only… Thanks for your time. People please I would love to have your own opinion on this also. SOurce |

I am of the school of thoughts that not all heartbreak songs should be rendered in a very slow and sleepy tune. And Charras has just proved me right. The very first time I saw the video to this song #GBEGE, I acted like I dint see it. I allowed it passed and just switched over to another station. 10minutes later, the video popped up again and I decided to listen to the lyrics of the song ( the only thing that catches my attention about songs). The perfect blend of igbo and pidgin was so smooth that I sort the help of a friend to translate what he was actually saying. My favourite line which is *u don see where water enter Nnkata* (basket) is something we all can always relate with over and over again. Instantly I fell in love with the song because its something different fron others. Though the concluding part of the video was a lil bit confusing because judging from the song, he was saying *Oga E Mezi* (not again wud it haPpen) he wanted the girl out of his life. She was leaving and then it appeared he was trying to persuade her again to stay. *hard to let go of that special someone most times*. But in all, GBEG is one song by Charass that you must listen to. I had a chat with him and hey he just got a nomination for *best video by a new act* In the forth coming NMVA 2013 awards. 10 miutes with CHARASS by Edward Fortune….. For Victor Chinedu Onyewuchi a.k.a CHARASS, his musical journey can be traced back to his days in secondary school (F.C.S) wherehe was awarded the best artist at that time.. He joined a group in JOS known as BEST-TEAM after graduating from secondary school when his struggles to gain admission into the higher institution were to no avail. His zeal and passion for music caught the attention of “Patrick Edgar Obi” who is the CEO of MATURE MONEY MIND RECORDS (MMMR) and also the younger brother to Chelsea and Nigeria National team Footballer “JOHN MIKEL OBI who offered him a record deal which he gladly accepted and recorded a song titled “MMM Anthem” alongside other label mates. The song was produced by SamKlef and video was Shot by CLARENCE PETER as a preparation to his 1st Official Single Titled GBEGE which was produced by award winning producer TY MIX and a follow up video shot by SQUAREBALL films. (A young and creative director) which got a nomination in the forth coming NMVA 2013 awards for “BEST VIDEO BY A NEW ACT ” is getting good rotation both on International TV and Local Stations. Music gives him hope and he’s not letting the dream die.. E.F. Why d name *Charass*? CHARASS: the name CHARASS is basically a nickname I got from the word harass. People tell me them that *guy Ʊ dey harass me with this your song oo* positively though and I just made the name stick cause all I want to do is make positive impacts and sing songs that people can relate with. E.F: Your debut song *Gbege*. What’s d story behind it? CHARASS: Its all about cheating girlfriends, and heart breaks. The kind of things we all go through most times in a relationship and the lessons we tend to learn from them and make sure we don’t fall inside the same pit all over again! E.F: As an upcoming act, how friendly has the industry been so far? CHARASS: Well, I must confess its been wonderful and amazing we young and we getting it. So far, God has been faithful and we just getting started. E.F: What differentiates you from other artist? CHARASS:The fact that my name is Victor Chinedu Onyewuchi a.k.a CHARASS (laughs) is basically one major thing. Am simply me, Unique and conspicuous. E.F: Signed under MMMR, what’s d most challenging aspect of such responsibilities? CHARASS: Woooow! To whom much is given, much is expected. My Label expects so much from me and each day I wake up, I tell myself I can’t afford to fail. MMM3 is a label that’s got a whole bunch of talents and believe me, everyone is unique. For me,one major challenge is never to be left behind. I want to always be at the fore front with good contents and great delivery.. E.F: Describe your acceptance by music lovers so far! CHARASS: The truth is its been so overwhelming. Its been so awesome and I owe it all to God, my management and the fans for accepting good music. Even to you Fortune for this interview. Trust me, its been mind blowing and its beyond words! E.F: you just got a nomination in the forth coming NMVA 2013, how does it feel? CHARASS:of a truth, I feel so blessed and humbled. Its not by my power neither am I the best,I just believe God has made this possible and I deeply appreciate God for how far He’s taken me.the nomination just proves that hard work pays and I don’t intend to relent at this stage. Its a stepping stone to higher grounds for me. Am blessed! Source |

British singer Alesha Dixon has welcomed her first child – a daughter – for her Nigerian boyfriend Azuka Ononye. The Britain’s Got Talent judge announced on Monday, October 7, 2013 via her twitter account, as she marked her 35th birthday that her baby girl, Azura Sienna was born last week. ‘Thank you for all of your lovely birthday messages! I’ve had the best present in the world………’My baby girl Azura Sienna was born last week!!! I’m elated and over the moon’. Although the news came as a surprise to fans who felt the pregnancy was short and quick as the singer only first announced in June that she and her 32-year old dancer boyfriend, Ononye, were expecting a baby together, Alesha explains, ‘It seems quick because I was hiding it for so long!!! I was in my 6 month of pregnancy at the Britain’s Got Talent final!’ The pair met in 2006 when Alesha decided to go solo following the split of her former band Mis-Teeq, however, the news of a possible romance only broke in 2012 when they were spotted holidaying together in Marbella. The CokoBar Music Festival took place last night Sunday 6th October 2013 at London’s o2 Indigo and one of the most memorable incident of the night was when a fan (pictured above) was picked from the crowd to come on stage to flex her dancing skills to Flavour’s music. The lady got on stage and started out pretty okay, she bounced and shook her bum bum to a delighted crowd…the cheering must have gotten to her because she then went totally crazy, and gave concert goers a peek of her ‘selling point’ lol. Hiroshi Yamauchi, who was the head of Nintendo from 1949 through 2002, had died at the age of eighty-five. Yamauchi led his company, which had been founded in the nineteenth century by his great-grandfather, through an extraordinary and unique transformation. In his 2010 article “Master of Play,” which is about Nintendo’s preëminent video-game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, Nick Paumgarten told some of Yamauchi’s story: Nintendo has been in the business of play since 1889. Its founder, Fusajiro Yamauchi, made playing cards, or karuta. Well into the next century, the company’s main product was hanafuda—cards made from crushed mulberry bark and lavishly illustrated with symbols such as animals and flowers—which replaced the painted seashells that the Japanese had traditionally used and which became widespread in Japan for gambling. As it happens, fortune and luck are intrinsic to the company’s name. Made up of the three kanji characters nin, ten, and do, the name has been said to mean “Leave luck to heaven,” or “Work hard, but in the end it is in heaven’s hands,” as the journalist David Sheff rendered it, in his 1993 portrait of the company, “Game Over: How Nintendo Zapped an American Industry, Captured Your Dollars, and Enslaved Your Children.”… In 1949, Yamauchi’s headstrong and debonair great-grandson Hiroshi Yamauchi, aged twenty-two, took over Nintendo and began restlessly casting about for ways to extend its reach. He secured a licensing agreement with the Walt Disney Company and scored a big hit with American-style playing cards adorned with the image of Mickey Mouse. Other entrepreneurial gambits—instant rice, a taxi fleet—fared poorly. In the mid-nineteen-sixties, Yamauchi hired an engineer named Gunpei Yokoi and a crew of young tinkerers to think about making toys and games, and their experiments helped foster a culture of whimsy and risk amid Nintendo’s rigid corporate structure.… The very serious men turned out a succession of silly gizmos. There was the Ultra Hand, a device with a gripping hand at the end of it; the Love Tester, a primitive electronic contrivance that purported to measure the level of ardor between a boy and a girl; the Beam Gun, which used a ray of light to hit simulated targets. (Nintendo converted abandoned bowling alleys into “shooting ranges,” where you could fire at simulations of clay pigeons.) Across the ocean, a company called Atari, based in California, had created Pong, the first hit video game. Pong, originally an arcade game, was turned into a home version in 1975. Inspired by Atari, and by the craze for a new arcade game called Space Invaders, Yamauchi, who told Sheff that he had never played a video game, led Nintendo into the arcade business, and also pushed for the development of a home console like Atari’s, an apparatus that would come to be called the Family Computer, or Famicom. Yamauchi later hired Miyamoto, who went on to design games like Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., and Legend of Zelda; the Famicom was eventually marketed in the United States as the Nintendo Entertainment System, or N.E.S. You can read more about of Hiroshi Yamauchi and the history of Nintendo in “Master of Play,” which is available online.
