First, Abiola had won the presidential election in 1993 but was denied the presidency until he died. So it was a good ground for the PDP ticket in 1999.

Second, Ekwueme didn't see things that way as he chose to slug it out with Obasanjo for the PDP ticket in 1998/1999 and 2002/2003. And nobody stopped him. He lost!

So nobody gave Yoruba the ticket.

In 2023 just like 2015, nobody will stop Igbos from contesting for the APC presidential ticket...It's just that they will not win...

Don't say that , Yoruba was given the ticket , The constitution stipulate a compulsory presidential primary that's was why Ekweme was brought for formalities, the agreement then was OBJ will go for 2term and give back the power to the north...Even in 2019 in APC , didn't u see that a primary conducted for formalities ?...whether they give it to the Southeast or not, it is a time bomb, mostly for tomorrow, even the north central and north east is a time bomb...our politicians are selfish , the earlier they zone the presidency the 6 geopolitical zones for equity and justice the better , because Nigeria in a time bomb, out leaders knows this but for selfishness.

Is going to unite Nigeria, because if it is zone just like in 1999 and 2007 , all parties will go to a particular zone to pick their candidate, as such, it would be peaceful...and people will come out to vote for their favourite without tribal sentiment

See, APC is not the only political party in Nigeria, we also have PDP. Good enough, Igbos have more stake in PDP than any region. The PDP will never give it to the South , until they collect power , they are more concern on getting the power before proper zoning... If the APC fails to give Baba Tinubu or any of his boys, it would be an easy ride for the PDP if it also doesn't scatters , but if it does , the Cabals will have the day, mostly now that most PDP Govs are romancing with them at night...personally, I see the cabals winning 2023 Election with the anti-graft agencies... Because the hope of Baba Tinubu, the likes of Ganduge , Boss Mustapha , Alhaji Takai Kano, Gov Atiku ... All have issues with the EFCC, May God will be done in Nigeria ....they are all thieves...so unfortunate that Nigeria is not close to better life

See, I stand to gain nothing from APC or PDP, I don't belong to any party...the fact is that a house divided against itself cannot stand and that's what happened in Zamfara , Rivers State...let me use Lagos as an example , during the APC primary, it was only 2 LG chairmen that was loyal to the governor , Ambode, the remaining 18 were loyal to the mandate group, which is also a group loyal to Baba Tinubu... These 18 APC LG chairmen loyal to Baba Tinubu conducted a direct primary election marred with violent and irregularities that even the INEC, Police and the NWC attested to it and the NWC cancled the election but with pressure from these 18 chairmen, the NWC bowed to pressure and accepted the results of the election that was how Ambode was sent out, even before the primary, the 18 if not all came out to endorsed now Gov Babajide Sanwo olu... Since Gov Obaseki has almost all the APC LG chairmen with him, I doubt if Oshobaba can win this unless Gov Obaseki moves to the PDP, then it would be a WIN WIN for Oshobaba , else, is either Oshobaba will succumb to defeat or refused to present a candidate to the INEC for APC Edo as the national chairman , or , he will conduct his election with his faction and Gov Obaseki will do thesame , at the end , the court will be the one to decides and at it stands , Gov Obaseki, has the upper hand with almost all the APC LG chairmen with him, because that's what the court will consider when deciding who is the original candidate as stipulated in the APC constitution...it is the state LG chairmen and ward leaders of the National Chairman that is backed by the constitution to remove the National chairman of APC, and the LG chairmen and ward leaders in Edo State apart from the only one from Oshobaba LG area , came together to remove Oshobaba as the National chairman of the party , and when they get to court , the judges will check if the chairmen are backed by the constitution to remove the national chairman, if they does , Oshomole faction will be kicked out because he has been suspended in his state and have no right to conduct election... The INEC can witness both primary elections of the APC in Edo State, but will only accept the candidate submitted by the National body.... For the case of Zamfara, the national body of APC led by Oshobaba submitted the name of Sen Marafa as the candidate of APC, but the faction of former Gov Yari went to get a court order to acknowledge his faction and that's was why Tati's candidate rep APC , but Marafa faction went to Appeal in Sokoto , and won... The supreme court later discovered that both factions primaries election was not witness by INEC and was conducted after the deadline given by the INEC.. also in Rivers , the INEC witnessed both factions primaries but , because of counter court orders barring both factions from parading themselves as rightful chaiman when the primaries was conducted , the supreme court ruled that the APC has no chaiman in Rivers as such , they have no candidate... Same thing will play out in Edo, because I am sure Gov Obaseki will go get a court order to cancel the suspension of the Edo State APC chaiman just like he did against the NAS on the issue of the Edo assembly speaker tussle... On the long run it will be either Gov Obaseki wins or APC give it free to the PDP irregardless of who contest on won the election , the court will be the decider... Same thing played out in Delta APC btw the DSP faction and that of forner Gov candidate of the APC in the state , but it settled because the other faction withdrew their case against the DSP.

Let me remind u that, in the case of Rivers the INEC witness both primaries , the issues arises with various contradicting court orders on whom is the right chaiman among both factions... The reason the all court decleared APC has no candidate....a house divided against itself cannot stand ... As from next week expects more court orders in Edo state, don't forget 14 lawmakers loyal to Oshobaba are still hanging on the air.... Infact , indirectly , INEC warn them to stop allowing court to decide for them... And that's how Edo will go, many lawyers and running to Edo for the money.... Obaseki with the Edo treasury will get all court orders to stop Oshomole thesame way he did against the NAS....ccongrats to PDP in advance...

Obaseki is more favoured in what ever ways, as a Gov. , and if APC messed up, it's a big congratulations to the PDP as in Zamfara , Rivers . Because presently, the Edo APC chairman loyal to Gov Obaseki has been suspended by the National body of APC while the chairman of the national body of APC has been suspended by the Edo state LG chairmen of APC.... It will be a big task if APC survive this, as it stand , No candidate will be recognized by INEC as both factions will go get court injuction just like Rivers and zamfara and as things are going Oshomole would rather allow the opposition to have their way than allows Obaseki second term, just like he did in Zamfara at the onset...Congrats in advance to the PDP...
