If Baba Tinubu gets second term , it is over for the south and it moves to the north and Peter stands to gain nothing but to wait for another northern 8 or 16 years of rule , in the same vein, if the North supports Peter Obi , they risk getting power in the next 12years with BabaTinubu, the north gets power in the next 4years , which is the best bet for the north... But currently because of Baba style of rule , the north striking a deal with Obi for a 4 year team to complete Baba Tinubu 4 as in 8year southern tenure cannot be written out, after all the north did 12years ( Yardua 4 and Buhari instead of 8 while GOodluck did just 4 years

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to call the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, to order over his comments on the Ijaw ethnic nationality.

The INC was reacting to comments credited to Mr Wike that the Ijaw people “were a minority of minorities in Rivers and other South-south states except Bayelsa.”

Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, the INC national spokesperson, said the congress had taken note of the FCT minister’s remarks.

“We will continue to maintain peace and stability as we call on President Tinubu to caution him and redirect his focus to his ministerial duties.

“The INC remains committed to preserving the harmony enjoyed by all in the Niger Delta region.

“We have taken note of the recent remarks made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

“Given his eight-year tenure as governor of Rivers, we expected a more informed understanding of the state’s history,” the INC said.

The INC said the Ijaw people are the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, with over 40 million people, and the oldest tribe in Nigeria, as documented in history.

“They are the largest ethnic group in Rivers with eight local government areas, and also not a minority in Delta.

“The Ijaw have consistently advocated for fairness and equity in the Niger Delta region and the South-south, and we will not be swayed by individual attempts to provoke us,” Mr Oyakemeagbegha said.

Governor Fubara, of the Ijaw ethnic nationality, has been engaged in a protracted political battle with his predecessor, Mr Wike, over the control of the political structure in Rivers.

Some Ijaw groups are backing Mr Fubara against Mr Wike.

The writer is not completely wrong as I still remember in 2022 when El-Rufai praised Sen. Rauf Aregbesola and threaten to retire Baba Tinubu in 2023... Having said that , El-Rufai is an unstable person as we saw during the APC presidential primary , where he betrayed Rt. Rotimi Amaechi after Many praise to delivered all the Kaduna delegates to Baba Tinubu and prior to the election , he had led many northern APC Govs(Apart from Yahaya Bello) and delegates to Baba Buhari to micro zone the president to Southwest, thereby betraying Amaechi .
Inasmuch as I will never advice Baba Tinubu to work with El-Rufai because of his treacherous character, I will never support writing off the efforts he made for Baba Tinubu prior to the APC presidential primary even if he may have other negative motive for his support.
