My husband once wrote a book on Deadly Habits like Alcoholism. below is an excerpt:
ALCOHOLISM IS THE BIG BROTHER OF FORNICATION, ADULTERY AND OFCOURSE SMOKING. THERE ARE THREE STEPS INTO THIS HYDRA-HEADED EVIL:
1. SOCIAL PHASE: When a person begins to take 'a sip' from the glass. When he or she is pressurized in social garderings to take 'just' a small stout. When those '7% alcohol' wines are used for corporate events. Then you need to be very very careful. Truth is : It is so amazing how alcoholics try to convince non-alcoholics to take it at events. People at this stage are called 'Occassional Drinkers' or 'Social Drinkers'. The alcohol is still a slave to the drinker
2.REGULAR PHASE: At this stage, the Social alcoholic begins to be more frequent with the bottle. When he is tensed up or angry, he 'washes' it down with wine. When Arsenal and Chelsea are playing march, a Regular drinker will be more comfortable holding a bottle, to cool the nerves. This is a very long phase and Regular drinkers may remain at this phase for many years. At this stage being drunk is not unusual. A Regular Drinker lies and steals to feed his/her ever enlarging lust for the bottle. The alcohol has become the master of the drinker.
3. ACUTE PHASE: This is the phase when the alcohol habit has started making the Drinker to have severe damages in health, relationships, spiritually etc. An Acute Drinker may have issues with his/her Kidney, Liver and any relevant organ. An acute drunkard can use the money for House rent to shark and forget his family. Only to be driven out by the landlord. I know a man like this on my street. He is almost a mad man by now. He almost killed his wife.
The phase you are in alcoholism determines how easy it is to pull out. For now, all I can say is that at every stage, with strong determination and God's grace and the right kind of external influence, you can break the addiction. If you are determined, then first keep yourself from anyone who is an addict. Have certain persons who HATE alcoholism watch over your exit process. Above all, go for councelling. Thanks. |

MY CONCLUSION:
Many third world countries have recently found themselves in debt to the World Bank and IMF. Like all other banks the World Bank creates loans out of nothing, and then when the countries cannot repay the loans it demands that these countries give up their real resources in exchange. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Drops In World Economic Index by enyojo(f): 6:34pm On May 13, 2011 |
See their grand strategy: Some believe that the Third World Debt is actually UNPAYABLE. Why?
When the World Bank makes a loan to a third world nation, a large portion of the loan actually goes to the US corporations and the other large international corporations that are sent in to build the infrastructure that the loan was made for. This means the money of the loan never even goes into the economy of the country that receives the loan. If the debt money is never put into their economy, much less the interest to pay the debt, how can they ever pay it back? |

Hear another confession of Joseph E. Stiglitz on the WITCH-CRAFT OF WORLD-BANK (in 2001 just after quitting his job at the World Bank) "As the chief economist at the World Bank from 1997 to 2000, I have seen firsthand the dark side of globalization; , how so-called structural-adjustment loans to some of the poorest countries in the world 'restructured' those countries' economies so as to eliminate jobs, but did not provide the means of creating new ones, leading to widespread unemployment and cuts in basic services, The voices of those most affected by globalization are barely audible in discussions about how the table should be reshaped and show should have a seat at it." No wonder Dr. Susan George once asked:
"What is the difference between Tanzania and Goldman Sachs? Tanzania is a country which has a gross national product of $2.2 billion and shares it between 25 million people. Goldman Sachs is an investment firm which has annual profits of $2.2 billion dollars and shares them among 161 partners. That's the world we're living in now" |

THE TRUTH ABOUT WORLD BANK AND IMFIn as much as we all know that Leadership deficiency and Corruption Menace have kept Nigeria in the abyss of underdevelopment. However, let us look beyond the figures and vague indices been reeled out by World Bank and IMF. How come it is these same bodies that approached the CBN Governor recently to pressurize him to devalue our Naira that are telling the world that we slipped in Economic ranking when in the same period a crisis ridden Eqypt at the time under consideration was not affected based on their cooked up reports?Look at their Mandates: The World Bank and IMF "We are made up of two unique development institutions owned by 185 member countries. We provide low-interest loans, interest-free credits and grants to developing countries for a wide array of purposes that include investments in education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture, and environmental and natural resource management." -- World Bank Website
"The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an organization of 185 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world." -- IMF Website HEAR THIS: "There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt." -- John Adams, Second President of the United States THIS IS THE CONFESSION OF ONE OF THEIR OWN (John Perkins is the author of a former bestselling book, Confessions of an Economic Hitman (a true story). This quote was taken from an interview he did which you can view on YouTube). "The fact of the matter is our job was to convince other countries to take very large loans [given by the World Bank], Let's say a billion dollars to Ecuador to build big infrastructure projects: power plants, ports, highways, industrial parks. Things that didn't benefit anybody except the very wealthy people in those countries who were quite corrupt, and we corrupted them, 90% of that billion dollars would come back to the United States to pay for Halliburton, Bechtel, these types of companies to build the infrastructure. Then the country would be stuck with this huge debt, which over time would continue to be refinanced and get larger and larger and larger. So that in fact today Ecuador owes more than 50% of its national budget just to pay down its debt service which means there's very little money left to pay for education and health services for the poor people who are the ones who suffer from these projects. It was their rivers that were destroyed when we built these hydro-electric plants, it was their land that was destroyed, Now they're saddled with this incredible debt that they can't possibly pay. And so we go in and demand our pound of flesh, very much like the mafia, We need Ecuador's oil, We tell Ecuador, 'Since you can't pay off your loans, what you need to do is to turn over your Amazon to our oil companies, What it is all about is building empire. We've done this in every country around the world that has resources that we covet, often this is oil in places like Indonesia, Nigeria, Ecuador, Venezuela, and. Colombia. But sometimes its other resources, for example in Panama it was the Panama Canal. " -- John Perkins |

So long as we talk of zoning, Nigeria cannot be a Nation but simply a country. A Nation is a Monolithic consolidated united group of different tribes fused into one. A country is a geographical enclave where different tribes maintain their differences. Why many of us subscribed to the BB workplan was because it was out to replace the demonic 'state of origin' with 'state of residence'. Obama relocated to Illinois State after school. He later represented Illinois State in the Senate. He wasn't born there neither did he grow there. We cannot remain rooted in our roots and expect Nationhood. In sports, like the falconets/Super falcons, more than 90% of the girls are Igbos Nigeria squad: Oparanozie, Marbel Egwuenu, Helen Ukaonu, Josephine Chukwunonye, Ebere Orji, Soo Adekwagh, Mercy Amanze, Rebecca Kalu, Alaba Jonathan, Ngozi Ebere, Esther Michael, Joy Jegede, Amarachi Okoronkwo, Charity Adule, Blessing Edoho, Uchechi Sunday, Onyinyechi Ohadugba, Gloria Ofoegbu and Gloria Iroka. No-one complains that they didn't select from his own senatorial zone. All we want is a monolithic united team that wins. But in appointing the best set of Leaders who will determine the quality of life you live, you throw merit and competence to the dust. You hear all sorts of rubbish like 'HIS ZONE PRODUCES THE OIL'! SELF-IMPOSED, SELF-INDUCED CABALS!! Jonathan may name PDP executives into cabinet By Festus Owete May 11, 2011 10:39AM
There are indications that some members of the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are being considered for appointment into the federal cabinet to be constituted in June or July by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Although it is not yet clear who may benefit from the president’s gesture, it was learnt that this was one of the issues Mr Jonathan and some members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by the acting national chairman, Bello Haliru Mohammed, discussed when they met in Obudu Mountain Resort, Cross River State, last week.
The members of the NWC are Mr Mohammed (acting national chairman), Kawu Baraje (national secretary), Olusola Oke (national legal adviser), Inna Ciroma (national woman leader), Uche Secondus (national organising secretary), Ahmed Alkali (national publicity secretary), Tukur Mani (national financial secretary), Samuel Ortom (national auditor) and William Makinde (national treasurer). There are also vice chairpersons in all the six geopolitical zones who are not members of the NWC. They are, however, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the national caucus of the party.
A source in the party said that the move to make at least two of them ministers is not only meant to compensate the PDP leadership for their support for Mr Jonathan since the demise of former President Umaru Yar’Adua but also because of the role they played during the nationwide campaign.
Besides, this will be in keeping with the unwritten tradition set by former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Yar’Adua in appointing some members of the PDP national leadership into their cabinets.
Unwritten tradition
While in office, Mr Obasanjo named some of the then members of the NWC as special advisers. These include Josephine Anenih, who was the national woman leader and Ventius Ikem, the national publicity secretary.
On his part, Mr Yar’Adua appointed two members of the immediate past NWC as members of his cabinet. They are Ojo Maduekwe, who was then the national secretary and John Odey, who was the national publicity secretary.
Mr Maduekwe served as foreign affairs minister until he was booted out of office by Mr Jonathan. Mr Odey, who earlier served as information and communication minister, was reassigned to the environment ministry by the incumbent president. Other zonal leaders of the PDP were also compensated with posts of chairpersons and members of boards of federal parastatals.
It was gathered that one of those Mr Jonathan may be appoint into the cabinet is the incumbent spokesperson of the party, Ahmed Alkali. He is said to be on the consideration list partly to compensate him for losing the gubernatorial primaries in Gombe State. It was, however, gathered that the national leadership of the party may meet a stumbling block in the state chapters, which Mr Jonathan has already written requesting them to send in 10 nominees for consideration as ministers and other public office positions. The president’s letter is based on the advice reportedly given him by the Presidential Action Council (PAC) chaired by the former defence minister, Theophilus Danjuma.
It was further gathered that some of those who contested the primary elections on the platform of the ruling party for various offices but lost are also jostling to make their way into the federal executive council (FEC). There are presently 43 ministers drawn from the 36 states. Mr Alkali could not be reached by phone yesterday for comments. Also, efforts to reach the spokesperson to the acting national chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, were unsuccessful. |

Oyo: Ajimobi accuses Akala of indifference to doctors’ strike
On February 4, 2011 · In News BY OLA AJAYI IBADAN — FOLLOWING the strike embarked upon by doctors in Oyo State, the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, governorship candidate, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has condemned alleged indifference of the State Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala to the complaints of the health workers.
He said leaders who put up “I don’t care attitude to health care delivery system of his people should not have ventured into governance at all.
He called on eligible voters in the state to pay Akala back in his own coin by voting him out in the April election. All hospitals in the state have been shut for the past two weeks over what the doctors considers as “poor working conditions including poor remuneration, heavy tax and heavy work load arising from insufficient personnel”.
According to Ajimobi: “Every good leader works with the understanding that a healthy person is a wealthy person. The governor’s attitude is an indirect way of sending people to early grave for no just cause”.
According to him, “Government has collapsed in Oyo State. This is the height of lack of interest and care for the masses.
That is how the governor destroyed the education sector. He refused to pay teachers in both primary and secondary schools, sacked lecturers at the polytechnic and college of education for demanding a reduction of the heavy tax. LAUTECH students have been protesting the hike of their fees.
Now doctors and other medical workers have closed down the hospitals in a state where most citizens can not afford the bils of private hospitals. There is nowhere in the world, even in Nigeria where all government hospitals have been closed down up to local communities. As far as we are concerned, government has broken down; all sectors are affected. That is why Akala must resign now”.
Meanwhile, Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, has appealed to well meaning Nigerians to prevail on the striking doctors to go back to work.
The appeal was contained in the electronic mail sent by the Special Adviser on Public Communication to the Governor, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
He said the Governor had led a delegation to persuade the association two days ago to accept 70 percent of what Federal approved for its staff even when many states found it difficult to pay.
According to the governor, “Federal takes 52 percent of total revenue accruing to the country while the 36 States and 774 Councils share the rest so Federal can afford to pay that which is not binding on any State. Even Lagos State with its huge revenue base can only pay 75 percent”.
He explained further that his administration had stretched its purse to the limit by conceding to pay 70 percent. “ We in turn appeal to the patriotic sense of our doctors to see reason and we also appeal to well_meaning people to persuade them to call off strike”, he stated. FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, AKALA DRAGGED WITH TEACHERS, DOCTORS ETC FOR SMALL INCREAMENT. NOW THAT HE HAS LOST OUT COMPLETELY, HE NOW TURNED INTO A SAINT AND HE IS TRYING TO ROPE HIS SUCCESSOR BY PITCHING HIM AGAINST THE WORKERS AND THE OBAS |

When will the GEJ wake up? How long shall we remain in the dunghill of political rhetorics?? Why cause unnecessary tension by 'openly' announcing what you might not do or at best do after a long while? Why don't you JUST DO IT and let it leak to the press (if at all we all must know)? There are close to a hundred lives that were truncated in this electoral process of 2011.
The issues we should look at are : 1. You select the about 10 corp members and 'pay' their families. I don't think N5M will make the families as comforted as when he fishes out the culprits and make them pay for their evil crimes against their children. 2. Announcing the N5M at all will attract so many far relatives to put up a garb of 'The child that died is our own child too' and then create untold pressure on the imediate family. 3. So many other persons who lost their lives in the election will accuse the Government of neglect. Remember that more than 8 persons were throdden upon and lost their lives in Port harcourt when GEJ/Sambo came for campaigns. The security men caused panic when they shot sporadically into the 'FRESH' air. This is not to mention those whose lives and legs were blown away with bomb blasts.
