According to whoscored, Martial's defensive contribution is weak, that of mbappe is very weak.

If he is going to contribute to goals and assists like Mbappe, his defensive duties can be excused. But if he is going to be losing the ball 7 out of 10 times, he has to put up a shift to get the ball back. We both know Martial is not that strong on the ball. Mbappe already have 9 g+a in 5 apps. If Martial can give similar stats, he can be excused to save his energy for attacking runs

Wan-Bissaka is very good defensively and most teams hardly attack through his wing thus McTominay should take up a slightly central position so that Fred can drift to the left to cover Shaw that's assuming we revert to 4-2-3-1...However, in a 4-4-2 diamond, Martial won't be tasked to track back as the LCM (Pogba) will effectively cover for Shaw...

He would still be required to track his man(RB) 70% of the time, because there is the midfielders and attackers to distract Shaw and Fred/Tom.

With Fred and McTominay in the lineup, our LWF doesn't need to worry about tracking back as much as he will when they're not starting...

Even with Fabinho, Henderson, Mane still has to be very strong on the ball and tracks his man a lot. His wing wouldn't be successful if that doesn't happens. TAA is having some issues because Salah is not able to track back that well, so he can't attack like before

I dont know about you, but for me, upgrading from Lingard - Prreira to VDB - Bruno is worth talking about. Afterall, we still occasionally talk about Jones even though that one doesn't play for us anymore.

Having a sound coach is solving one part of the problem. Any team will always struggle if coach get sense but the players dey play rubbish.

If Rashford came on yesterday and was doing his headless chicken runs or Bruno came on and was romancing the ball instead of playing Rashford through one time, we may not have won that match.

The only person we can make a case for that a change in formation has helped is Pogba.

The players have simply stepped it up a notch since that 6-1 loss to Spurs. We'll wait to see if they can maintain it and remain consistent.

As at when season started, transfer window was still open and by the end of the window, we managed to add Cavani and Telles on top VDB.

If you look at the squad we ended last season with vs Sevilla, or even the one that lost 6-1 to Spurs, and look at the squad that just beat Liepzig 5-0 yesterday and refuse to see an improvement in personnel, then that's ur personal problem.

The only new player that started against Leipzig was VDB. He was already here when we were still crying that we had a poor squad. Stop mentioning Lingard and Perreira. They haven't really been playing since towards the end of last season. Cavani came in for the last 15 minutes or so. I don't want to start asking what he did.

The major shift in our performance and results was dropping Pogba and Matic, not some new players agenda. Is it not the same new players (VDB) we're begging Ole to play?

IMO, we need that fluidity upfront. Make those people just dey interchange abeg. Since none of them be correct number 9. Martial hold up play no be small thing, but him no be natural number 9, Rashford too no be original 9. About half of the time Rashford dey too preoccupied with thoughts of helping the needy so him dey forget him scoring boots, so just tell am make he switch with Martial. If Martial too dey do him swegbe, tell am make he switch. Simple. No wahala.

Mctom and Fred hardwork in midfield is making it very difficult to get fan favourites ( Pogba, VDB) into the first eleven..

At this point its very unwise to stop the MctomFred combo..Its important people understand that the club comes first before sentiments..

There is even an analysis that Bruno has been at his best playing with that combo. More shots, chances created, goals etc
