Maresca joined the club before the season started, has had time to understand the players and train with them, including try out different things that didn't work. Remember he was abused during preseason by many Chelsea fans because the team was struggling and playing rubbish at times. He was able to offload those he didn't need and work with those he felt he can't work with because it was preseason

Getting the team to play a certain way is one, getting the right players to play that certain way is another. The first step is to introduce the style of play, and then identify those that won't fit.

The moment the coach bows to pressure and allow the players dictate how they want to play, especially the set of players we have, he should start packing his load
