Yes our forwards were too scared to press high up the pitch. It was only Lingard and sometimes Rashford. We need the three of them to be on the defenders and prevent them from passing from back. We played too deep, but maybe Brighton was too much of a threat and too physical for the players to handle. I know it's a step at a time and the players will adjust as the games roll by

Because he has done it in Spain where there's no Messi and where there's no particular player to be stopped.Trying to mark him out in a game is utterly useless because he's not a player to build your team around.The teams rhythm and style of play will exist whether he's marked or not as he's not a priority player neither is he a player that scores goals or makes defence splitting passes. So coaches have no other option than to pay him no attention which then allows the team to channel their build up play through him.Thats why he was and still the heartbeat of both Barca and the Spanish team

No other CDM is good under pressure than Busquet.He hardly loses possession or composure even under intense pressing from opponents and that is his greatest strength as a player..Hes very good at intercepting and has vision unlike what is obtainable in Jorginho and You cant simply mark him out in games just as you can mark out Jorginho due to teams heavily rely on his transtional play rather than his ability to play some key passes which Jorginho cannot do.Note the difference.

How would you know if he can't be marked out when opponents have their hands full with Messi and other attackers?

Our pressing starts from the front and from our games thus far, only Rashford can sustain the energy required for high pressing for 90mins, Martial and Lingard will more or less be reduced to walking pace from 70 mins and of their replacements, only Sanchez can press as he had learnt that from Barca and Arsenal but he isn't yet 100% fit and Lukaku and Mata are not very pacy (Lukaku used to be but he isn't in peak condition)...
In midfield, we have a beast in Fred who has got all the energy but he is still adapting to the English game thus we are yet to see more of him.
