Another fact was that most of his players (Scholes, Giggs, Neville bros, Rooney) played for him as at when they were very young, hence the loyalty (Rooney's could be argued though). Infact, I would say these players were SAF life span at Manutd. Being British players helped too because they were unlikely to move abroad like Cristiano did.

Another was getting better value players with potentials for little fees and being patient with their development such as Vidic, Evra etc. Such players would always be grateful compared to today's mercenaries who believed they are already made and the coach is only paying for what they can offer. There's nothing wrong with paying top dollar bills for players but they shouldn't be made the template on which the team is built upon. Even Madrid needed the likes of Ramos, Casiemiro, Carvajal, Marcelo, Varane, Kroos to complement and complete their Galatico team. In fact, I would say the aforementioned first 3 players bleed Madrid more than Cristiano. Madrid hasn't even had a galatico signing for over 5yrs now.

I tell you. It seems getting good values for players is almost impossible at United anymore. I'm still wondering what happened to those scouts that discovered Vidic, Evra and co. Then the quality of players coming out of the academy is either not it as we're made to believe or this present management is more interested in mercenaries. I am still yet to see a quality young midfielder that is not scared to receive and spray passes come out of that academy after how many years. I wonder what's happening there sef.

If Jose can identify his own core players and build around them, players that will play through pains for him that will be very good the club

SAF was a legend abeg. He knew how to win. Was just a shame he couldn't win more in Europe. We should ve won at least one of those 2 finals against Barca. I think we had a better chance in 09 than in 2011.

Fergie was a master at building and rebuilding teams. I can't remember any whining about the quality of the team back then. They go out there and play their blood out because they want to play for the club and SAF. It's a pity most of this present coaches don't know a thing about that

Anybody can be on the bench. Any player making the team sheet each match day should be based on merit and not the price he was bought. The team should come first.

Anyways we need that 3 midfield working asap and with a mobile front 3, willing to run off their socks the whole 90 minutes, we'll be back to beast mode

The fact that he registered 2 assists in 10 UCL starts doesn't diminish his influence in the outcome of those matches. Goals and assists aren't the only metric used to judge a player.

In the league Isco had 7 goals and 7 assists in 30 games with an average rating of 7.16. That's higher than Hazard's and Hazard is seen as a god by those Yurokpites.

What other metric do you want to measure Isco with? He has Modric Caseimero and Kroos to control the game for him, so what else does he have to do? He's the 3rd attacker in the 4-3-3 ffs

Their total time spent on the field is not what one would call influential. They're not consistent. Just a goal and assist in 10-11 matches? Is that how Madrid won the title? Imagine they're playing for an attacking team like Madrid and still posting this poor returns, how will they survive in a less attacking team.
