Bantino: You don't quote someone make such derogatory statement ok? How am suppose to know it never happened? And why the hell is on Nairaland FP? Should I call Mugabe or the Zimbabwean press to confirm before commenting on Nairaland? Let me ask you, from what you know about Mugabe, does it look like he can not say such a thing?
All these indomie generation should learn that respect is reciprocal. Exactly. This is posted in Foreign Affairs, not in the Jokes section, are we supposed to be mind readers to know it is a joke? Sigh. A number of posters need to learn the emboldened. |

sCun: You think Buhari or Jonathan alone is the reason why Nigeria is like this? Nigerians are not the brightest bunch out there, though we like deceiving ourselves that we are. When you compare the smart ones with the overall population, you will come to the conclusion that Nigerians are dull. Since you are so intelligent, please leave "dull" Nigerians alone. What are you doing on a forum with people who are "not the brightest bunch", you should be on forums where you can learn something from the posters e..e humility (highly recommended). |

eleojo23: The slumping oil prices is a factor but Buhari has a large chunk of the blame for this.
He came in telling us there was no money in the treasury yet he made about 20 foreign trips within one year with the little money we had.
And the sad thing is, the trips yielded nothing. He just wasted our money on fruitless trips.
For instance, where is the much talked about yuan swap deal with China? What happened to it? It was all propaganda. |

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Mr Mohammed Dutse, says Nigeria is considering establishing a Development Bank. Mr Duste said the government is looking at boosting the economy with the bank, considering its benefits. ---------------------------------------------------------- Another "future plan". Enough of propaganda! Tell us when it is being commissioned, not when it is being CONSIDERED. Hopefully by 2019, they would have finished "looking at". They think Nigerians are fools, right? |

In your mind, you assume anyone who criticizes APC must be PDP? I don't give a hoot about political parties but I am definitely concerned about APC because they are IN POWER and I am appalled at people defending a failing government despite the suffering of millions of Nigerians today. |

SMH. Can someone please answer this question - what exactly has this government achieved in the past 15 months, just one (well, besides arresting dog naming individuals). Tick tock goes the clock. 2 years, 3 years and finally 4 years we might still be in this same position we are in right now.
We are not interested in meetings and pictures, Nigerians need RESULTS. |

Reference: Meanwhile Presco has back orders up to 2017 and Nigerians cannot connect the dots. We as a people are so useless. Nothing I can say. My economy is detached from Nigeria's because my mentality is so different. If we cannot connect the dots we deserve every suffering we experience. Can you imagine if this scenario played out in China, they will ĺive out the poverty until they meet sufficiency. We on the other hand are not hardworking and weak willed. Let those out of jobs go get the palm oil and those companies out of business invest in palm oil production, simple. You will be surprised that local oil palm producers are complaining of low sales and low prices. Nigeria is such a wierd country. Very unfair statement. Nigerians are hard working people, it is not their fault that the irresponsible government we have right now has decided to make the business environment as harsh and unfriendly as possible. |

lafuria1: Did you read the bill , do you know why he needs and what for?
Example, the government needs money from an agency, but to get that, it will take 6 month, buhari wants to get within a month to address the economy. I'm sure you agree the economy is bad and believe we should act fast, buhari wants to act fast. This is the reason aim of the bill. This emergency power is for certain agency, nafdac, UBEC, How does more power to address our economy a bad thing?
anyway it's left for the NASS to grant or not.
This link should helhttp://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/emergency-powers-bill-lcci-man-nlc-others-back-buharis-proposals/
Not everything is politics Because Buhari is the first president we are having in Nigeria I guess The same president who spent 6 good months to select ministers has shown he is not someone who acts FAST in any way, we refuse to let wool be pulled over our faces. Se fini. |
Politics › Re: Senators Reject Buhari’s Emergency Powers Bill, Say It’ll Turn Him Into A Tyrant by ephi123(f): 10:59am On Aug 23, 2016 |
Tokt: The objectives of the bill will include shoring up the value of the naira, job creation, boosting foreign exchange reserves, reviving the manufacturing sector, and improving power supply.
Why will any senator who has his senses intact go against the above noble intentions. Buhari should go ahead to present the bill and leave these senators for us. Am sure majority are pdp senators. But why can't Buhari address any of these without the bill? What is his job as the president if he cannot address these needs with his current powers? |

BeClever: I support that this bill be passed into law as soon as possible before and that the house should stop deceiving us and themselves. .
Buhari is already a tyrant and the earliest they grant him his tyrannical powers the better, to see if he could scuffle the remaining big wigs feathers to achieve even if it's just one out of his numerous campaign promises.. LMAO!!! |

gypsey: Really greece is struggling and nigeria isn't any better economically either nigeria economy could do with some of the cash spent in greece, and yes! She is one of those who woild criticise ordinary nigerians for no been patriotic enough. And oh! She earns her living in nigeria too. I see your point but Nigeria has not developed its tourism industry, the Greeks have put effort and energy into making their country attractive for visitors, Nigerians should do the same if they want the same benefit. She earns her living in Nigeria doesn't mean she is not entitled to spend it how she pleases. I get the whole patriotism part but everyone wants value for money, I won't spend in Nigeria if I can get better value for my money elsewhere. If she has in the past criticised others for doing a similar thing as she is going, then I can't hold brief for her, that is hypocrisy. |
Celebrities › Re: Monalisa Chinda's Invitation Card To Her Wedding In Greece by ephi123(f): 3:14pm On Aug 22, 2016 |
To be fair, Greece is facing a struggling economy right now so they need all the help they can get from tourism. Most shops there would rather accept cash than card payment. They are very friendly people, it is a beautiful country, and the food is good. Can't blame her (as long as she is not one of the advocates of #BuyNigerian cos otherwise that makes her a hypocrite). |
