maclatunji: The more reason we should not ignore when leaders loot the treasury and assume that we have one secure job somewhere. The results may come back to hit you in a bad way. Sir, that doesn't answer my question. I asked for JUST one or two economic policies that "will take some time to bear fruits". Blaming the past administration does not carry water any longer, what is being done in the PRESENT i.e. right now, that is all I am asking. |

obailala: Of course the poor okada-man or bus driver or market woman on the streets would never understand the reasons behind their current sufferings. As far as the people in this societal/educational class are concerned, they started feeling pain as soon as Buhari came to power and things have only gotten worse so therefore it has to be Buhari. But then, I doubt that most of the people also shouting Buhari's name on this forum fall within that social/educational class. A good quality of life should not be dependent on a person's social class. This government has failed so far and no amount of fancy charts or graphs can say otherwise. |

MadCow1: President Buhari's biggest problem is his economic team and their lack of a clear vision on an economic road map.
Apart from that, I am still with him..
he also needs to reshuffle his cabinet and fast. Without a good economy what else is left? What is included in "apart from that"? A nation's economy drives EVERY other thing. |

maclatunji: The problem with Nigerians is that we like gimmicks, what happened to all the gimmicks that GEJ launched like SURE P and YouWin?
This government is brave enough to seek fundamental reform and the results will show soon enough.
Any reasonable observer knows that economic policies take time to bear fruit. We are reaping the fruits of GEJ's policies now. President Buhari's policies should begin to yield results in real terms in the next 12 months. The question is what precise economic policies have Buhari and his team formulated? Can you mention just one or two? Is it the constant somersaulting on policies leading to instability (and thereby putting off investors) or is there something else you know that the public doesn't? " The problem with Nigerians is we like gimmicks" - Tell that to those who have lost their jobs, tell that to those struggling and scraping just to eat 2 meals in a day. Very unfair statement. |

Instead of APC to face its current task, which is massive by the way, they are still living in the past. If they indeed know the guilty parties, what is STOPPING them from taking action. What are we supposed to do with nairaland posts without any actions. Mschew. |
Business › Re: Naira To Appreciate As CBN Issues Licence To New Intn.l Money Transfer Operators by ephi123(f): 8:51am On Aug 31, 2016 |
Ubiero: Why can't the government/CBN encourage the budding money operators here in Nigeria. Honestly, this administration has got to be the most clueless.
Just 2 weeks back, they banned domestic money operators thereby hindering forex coming into the country when the investors have no clue how to get their funds back.
There's no FDI coming into Nigeria anymore. Instead they're all moving out. A lot of companies are on the verge of shutting down because of the fluctuations affecting the FX market.
How can they ask IMTO to come to Nigeria when we have a lot of people who operate the same business. Anyways, I said it then that this change will probably be the death of us all. Uncertainty is one thing that is very bad for business. APC/Buhari should get their house in order abeg, enough of all this nonsense. |

PERFECT2: You can make it LEGITIMATELY even in this turbulent economy. I am a witness to it. I started with just running around in wedding ceremonies to snap "wait & take". Infact my first experience, when i went to give people their pictures at the Reception ground, the only people i met was those cleaning the event center;but i didn't give up. By God's grace, today i have those working under me. ILLEGITIMATE business must crumble one day, it will only take time. Any foundation you lay with illegal means and die with it, generation will suffer because of it. That is what NIGERIA is suffering from today. Our fore fathers took human heads to sacrifice during coronation, killed virgins, did alot of evil and now the blood of the innocent are crying out for vengeance. Moreover, are you not concerned with your relationship with God? Are u not concerned about human health. May God give us understanding. |

myhotbrain: The day i saw an ipod yoot selling his bend-down n sellect goods at ikeja-along railway tracks holding an android phone with nairaland opened page was when i decided in my mind, never to take the majority of comments here on nairaland forum very seriously again.
Majority of the people who make comment here on salient topics are stark illiterates cum comedians suffering from the effect of maladministration of the recent past--most of them were deprived of good upbringing and all the good tidings that comes, naturally, with it. Am sorry for them and I pray God Almighty provide succour for their hearts soonest. Amen.
FYI: NIGERIA CANNOT BREAK APART PEACEFULLY, EVER and I make bold to say, any attempt by a group of miscreants will be met by a brutal reprisal from the government of the day. Most well meaning Nigerians from all tribes desire A ONE NATION UNDER GOD. Is the Internet meant for select people? So because he is a trader he cannot make any meaningful contribution online? Sigh. I don't understand the faux social class and snobbishness Nigerians display at times. |
