Jobs/VacanciesRe: Ajaokuta Steel Company To Employ 500,000 Upstream, Downstream In 2017 by ephi123(f): 9:57pm On May 06, 2017
LordVoldemort:
Do you know how many people are gain fully employed because Shell as a company exist?

She'll might have 90k staff worldwide but the truth is that because they exist millions of people have jobs.
If you are talking about service providers and contractors, the fact is the total number cannot be double the 90k figure, max 120k and I'm sure even lower.

Nowhere close to the ridiculous 500k number being touted by these bogus liars.

This government should stop the foolish lies. Even huge organisations like Shell, GE and Total that operate in almost every country don't employ 500,000 people globally. How can a company that is not operational employ up to 500,000 people.

Unless they plan to employ ghost workers who will work from home like the president is doing. smiley smiley
Shell as huge and global as it is has only about 90,000 - probably less now with all the divestments.

Not only 500,000 they should have made it 1,000,000

Ridiculous lies.

Nigerian politics is a huge joke. These folks are only interested in their pockets, anyone who believes otherwise is sleeping on a bicycle.

Good to see the healthy skepticism on this thread. Nigerians are learning to evaluate issues critically now rather than swallow news hook, line and sinker.

Because they have nothing to offer, so it's distracting topics like these they will keep focusing on.
PoliticsRe: Prominent Nigerians Plotting ‘civilian Coup’ Against Buhari – Groups by ephi123(f): 7:03pm On May 06, 2017
The distraction is becoming way too much!

2 years have gone by, this government hasn't achieved anything tangible, and to now make matters worse the only focus these days is on the president's state of health. When will Nigerians reap the benefits of governance? Doesn't seem like anytime soon.... at this rate.

@ephi123 you are right,I concede, but at the end of the day we sacrificed, volunteers or no volunteers. I grew up in a military base(naval base to be precise) at the height of the whole ECOMOG fiasco and although I was just a kid back then, memories of how women cried in public over their dead husbands still haunt me till this day. That was how I had to react that way. I wasn't trying to rubbish what you said in any way. Hope you understand me?
I totally understand where you are coming from now. I do. I sympathize with them, it's the reality of the world we live in unfortunately.

How do u know Nigerians rarely offer humanitarian services in the north east? U need to see how untrained civilians in these areas have decided to protect themselves n their families. In fact the success achieved by the NA is basically due to the support received from these untrained Nigerians. Enof of this over-rating of these foreigners who claim they re helping meanwhile the are only coming for their selfish interest.
Saying it as it is is not over-rating them.

Bill Gates foundation pledged over $100m to end malnutrition in the North. How many of the rich people there (besides Dangote who partnered with BGF) bother about the malnutrition of their people despite living in their midst?

The civilians you are referring to live there, some do not have much choice but to help NA in order to have a peaceful community. The foreign volunteers made a choice to leave the comfort of their countries to live in the dangerous conditions of Northeast Nigeria.

And that is the scary part. And it is not just in Nigeria though Nigeria's case is the extreme. That Trump is the president of America points to this fact. No one cares about truths, facts and reality anymore. I don't believe in God but this is as good as the End Times they keep talking about.
We are in the "alternative facts" era, lol.

@ephi123 really? Nigerians have never sacrificed or risked their lives for others? Spare a thought for our men who died in meaningless wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone trying to restore peace ma'am. Spare a thought for those still in Western Sudan(Darfur). So you still think we "rarely risk" our lives for others?
I did not say never, I said rarely meaning it is not common.

Besides, all those you mentioned are soldiers whose profession comes with that risk, a choice they made when they took it on.
For humanitarian aid charities, these are people who voluntarily left the comfort of their more established and secure societies where things work to come and live in the wildlife called Nigeria. So yes, I give kudos to them for that.

A number of people seem not to even understand what a functional society looks like; anomalies now seem normal to them and vice versa.
