Gaara101: I see a lot of false assumption here. First, I did not compare Britain to Zimbabwe. I only talked about the relationship between their leadership. Second, I never said it was illegal. If you say I did, please point to the place where I said it. Third, it doesn't take a high iq to realize that someone who has been President since 1987 should step down and let someone take charge. It might be legal but its certainly not helpful. Looking at the unemployment and poverty level of the nation, what do you think? Thank you. I'm not even sure the point that guy is trying to make, just mis-firing all over the place. |

Kemi is simply not a performer, has nothing to do with her being a poly graduate. This Reno is just a constant irritant. |

Ajibel: The country is still in darkness because
1. Supply of gas is not enough.
2. The Discos are in huge debt due to inability to pay the Gencos and so they dont accept power that is given to them
3. Power generation at 4,000MW over these years is just not enough
Power has never been good and Fashola's efforts cant yield results immediately because these are capital projects that take months to be completed. The excuse mantra. You guys should get ready to continue in that darkness whilst waiting. Gonna be a looong wait. |
Politics › Re: Fashola Inspects Construction Of Bodo-Bonny Road & Opobo Channel Bridge,Rivers(p by ephi123(f): 3:11pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
Ajibel: When you read up on the reasons why those ministries were merged, you'll understand. I wont do that for you ma'am.
Do you know the job of a minister ma'am?
A minister is like an administrator. To convey the visions and plans of the government to the ministry workers he is superintending.
He is there to formulate policies and give focus to those doing the actual job.
What has he achieved?
1. Power transmission projects that have been abandoned due to court cases have been settled.
2. The transmission line carrying capacity has moved up to 7,000 MW
3. Licenses have been given to investors to generate power via solar energy. The first of its kind.
4. Funds have been released to complete new power plants and transmission lines to increase power generation.
5. And many more... Dude, answer the question - if Fashola has achieved all this and is not struggling, why is the country still in darkness? I'm not interested in epistles, the reality on ground speaks for itself. Eod. |

A number of people have shared some good suggestions - Ikigia, dingbang, Mobsync, and I can see other people asking for more details.. So the question is what has ymee picked from this thread so far and what does he plan to do next?
Also, one thing I will add is that attitude and mindset matters a lot. |
Politics › Re: Fashola Inspects Construction Of Bodo-Bonny Road & Opobo Channel Bridge,Rivers(p by ephi123(f): 3:01pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
Ajibel: It is laughable to say Fashola is struggling. He was a governor for 8 years and he didn't struggle before he made Lagos a dream state so what more would 3 ministries pose as a challenge?
The merging of 3 ministries was a masterstroke by the President in his bid to cut down overhead cost and size of ministries. It didnt make sense to you because you simply didnt recognise the reasons for the merger, when you do, you'll stop complaining.
There are many qualified people is a blanket statement! Those that were employed in the past (over 7 of them), what could they achieve? Masterstroke? You really must be kidding. How does it make sense to give a single individual 3 key ministries? You think running a state is the same as ministries that cut across the whole nation of 190 million + Turning your question back at you, what has Fash achieved with Power if he is not struggling? It's only in Nigeria people turn things upside down and expect results. You are on a long thing. |
Politics › Re: Fashola Inspects Construction Of Bodo-Bonny Road & Opobo Channel Bridge,Rivers(p by ephi123(f): 2:54pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
duni04: A minister posted there to do what? The major problem with power in Nigeria is those idiots that bomb pipelines and cut gas supply to the power stations. If you want stable power, get those idiots to stop sabotaging power infrastructure. Nothing Fashola can do. Easy to lay the blame there, but the question is have pipelines always been bombed? No. The problem with Power goes way beyond pipeline bombing, power has been a problem in Nigeria for decades before any bombing started. |
Politics › Re: Fashola Inspects Construction Of Bodo-Bonny Road & Opobo Channel Bridge,Rivers(p by ephi123(f): 2:51pm On Feb 19, 2017 |
Ajibel: And what makes Fash unqualified?
And do you think his successor would deliver? My point is he is obviously struggling coping with 2 major ministries, which means one will suffer (Power in this case). It never made sense right from the start why he would be given multiple ministries to handle. There are many qualified people in Nigeria, the issue is if those would be selected, especially considering this biased president who doesn't make appointments on the basis of merit. |
