As I said earlier, with the N500 they pay you, upgrade yourself and stop being a nuisance online.

Looks like you are backing down on your initial position.
No I stand by it. That such a business folds up means it wouldn't be blooming as it is right now, where any tom dick and harry can be selling fake drugs all over the place.

The same way drug trafficking has folded up even in continents that have death penalty in place for offenders.
You definitely can't compare the figures between countries that have the death penalty and those that don't. Why do you think the corruption level is low in China? Because you get hanged simple. Crime can never be eliminated fully but it can be drastically reduced.

When will the likes of Sarrki NgeneUkwenu Omenka ISTANDWITHBUHAR psalmsjob madridguy APCmyheart PassingShot Qmerit learn. I can't vote for any politician, they are all criminals neither will I enter contract with them again. I was called to supply about 5000 pieces of close coupled WCs etc to my state government, the reason I lost this contract was that (1) I told them that 5000 pcs is too much for what they want to do. (2)I refused to influence the price.

At the end I discovered that what they actually needed was 100 WCs, the remaining 4900 pcs goes to their personal hotels and schools. This happened in APC state.
Don't expect any learning or change from any of those you mentioned. It is one thing to stand for something because you truly believe in it, it is another thing entirely to "stand" for something because you are being paid to do so, these folks all fall into category 2. As I always say, it is a shameless job which has no honour, but then again what do Nigerians know about honour?

Yes I agree the government has the responsibility to regulate the selling of drugs but have you ever taken a minute to think of the calous Nigerians that sell these drugs and even manufacture fake drugs?

The government can only try to stop them but in as much as they remain calous and recalcitrant, they will forever remain in business.

My point is the onus lies in you and I, ordinary citizens to desist from these murderous acts and save the lives of our fellow citizens.
Not true. If there is a severe jail term for the offence and it is implemented, trust me the business will fold up on its own.

If companies have no one to put them in check, they will always abuse the system. Same with the likes of Shell and the Ogoni case. The Nigerian government has failed in its core tasks.

Maybe you don't get point. nobody will support the thieving boss if you are not benefiting from the fraud. I mean he should not blow the whistle if he wishes to remain in that company
That's not the point either. First of all, those in charge of the hotline are usually external to the company, he doesn't even have to provide his name/details, they will know the steps to take without implicating the person. But even if he has cause to leave the company just for that singular reason I can bet you, God is simply preparing him for a bigger phase.

A friend shared this with me and I decided to bring it here in other to get advice.

He works with a company as an admin officer and part of his job description is processing of expenses for daily purchases and payment to vendors and suppliers.

My friend is in a fix right now and he needs advice. The problem started when his former boss boss was sacked due to downsizing. His new boss is a terribly corrupt person.

Inspire of the fact that his boss earns good salary which ordinary should be enough for him, he still manipulates figures and orders my friend to raise fictitious expenses which he converts to private use.

My friend also notice that his boss connives with vendors to inflate price in return for kickbacks.

Recently my friend processed and got approval for purchase of tyres for their operational vehicles in the office only for his boss to collect the money without buying the tyres.

The internal auditor who is suppose to check mate this excesses has been quiet .

My friend is thinking of using the company's wishle blowing mechanism but this might affect his boss as he could be sacked.

Kindly advice.
The fact that the company has a whistle blowing mechanism makes it clear they are interested in fishing out such fraudsters from their organisation, your friend should be courageous and use it. The boss will likely be re-deployed to another unit before then being sacked.

As a country we won't go anywhere if we don't learn to do the right thing.

Your boss can even survive the issue if you blow the whistle but you will not survive it. Even if you remain in the company they will still hand over to another potential thief that will frustrate or sideline you. They will treat you like leper in that organization. Don't underestimate the power of corrupt people
If this was YOUR company, will you still take this same stance?

Osibanjo should get ready for the venom the northern Elitell are preparing for him. His actions in the last week has angered them already.
Osibanjo understands the art of diplomacy, Buhari has no clue what it means. That is the difference between the two of them, and it makes a huge difference to the workings of the country.

It has now been established that Nigeria is a failed nation.

Last month I flew by air to Abuja and noticed the poor state of the Abuja runway. It was literally in ruins, very badly cracked.

Now the question is , why wasn't it noticed in time? Shouldn't there a routine check of emthe runway? If this was noticed at least a year earlier, at least they would have commenced construction of another runway so as to avoid total complete shut down of the airport.

Cursed nation, cursed leaders.
Unfortunately those in positions of authority in Nigeria are never proactive. I was sorely disappointed when I passed through MMIA recently, things broken / not functioning everywhere, you wonder, is there not at least a Facilities or Operation Manager? and what really is the person doing?

So sad.
When people complain about some ills in the government, it's not always about politics. When Christians were being slaughtered in southern kaduna some people kept mute and did "eyes right" as if they didn't know what was happening.

The whole world was watching. Now after allowing the perpetrators to go scotch free and even paid some of them for killing you think foreigners will feel safe again? No way.

They'll equally think that once they get kidnapped or killed the government will only pay the perpetrators so they won't kill again. Everyone is scared of Kaduna state right now.

Kudos to Elrufai
Thank you. Well said.
Foreign airlines are not ready to endanger the lives of their staff because they value human lives even if Nigerians don't.

Economic expert will tell you Nigeria needs $30 - $70B PER ANNUM to address infrastructure deficit and we are celebrating a loan of $1B?

South Africa with a population one quarter of Nigeria's population spent $22 Billion (297 B Rand) on Education last year of which $15.5Billion (205B Rand) was on Basic education alone !!!!

We are not serious people!!!

http://ewn.co.za/2016/02/24/BudgetSpeech2016-More-money-for-education-grants-health
SPENT On Education. Those are the key words. The money was not looted, it was budgeted and spent on education.

Have you seen the meagre allocation given to Education in the latest budget? And you expect Nigeria to be at par with South Africa? It ain't happening dude.

PassingShot:
Different bodies, individuals and corporate entities can buy bonds from the govt. It doesn't have to be banks alone.

If you take your time to read it up, it's the bond issuer that states the interest rate and for how long the bond will be issued for. Generally, the interest rates for bonds are much lower than conventional loans. Also, the buyer of govt bonds, the lender so to say, does not determine what the bond issuer uses the money for. The reverse could be the case with regular loan.
Those differences you are pointing out are all very minor, the key issue here is that money still has to be paid back (no matter how lax or stringent the initial conditions were), there is nothing to celebrate about taking on more debt, it is not free money afterall plus the government will still pay interest on it as it cannot even default unlike with corporate bonds where companies can claim bankruptcy.
