In fact I visit it more these days to confirm my network is working fine than to actually read anything. That's how low Nairaland has come and it's because of posts like this making it to Frontpage.

Frontpage used to be worth it, now it's just filled with one person trying to launder image for people we don't know or care about all because they probably paid for it. Seun has successfully gone fully financially-minded and ruined a very unique brand.

When some of us were telling her then that challenging the suspension in court was the wrong way, many of you thought we didn't know what we were saying. Law is one of the fields with the most loopholes and once you can hook yourself with one, getting out might be a problem. If she had challenged it before the suspension commenced, then that would have been a different case. Now they have to maintain status quo and that means things have to remain the way they were when the case was filed.

This even has nothing to do with victimization and things like that, it's just the legal system being messed up as always. Why should a case challenging 6 months suspension last longer than 6 months, that's so unreasonable.

The government should have never given them that attention. How do you force unionism on a private company, who does that? Many of the leaders of these unions have businesses, have they ever encouraged their workers to form or join workers' union(s)?

Nigeria seriously needs a little bit of military influence in our democracy to curb overgrown wings like this. Previous governments have tolerated them so much that now they feel untouchable and believe they can hold the whole country to ransom.

Any businessman can deal with negativity from their target audience but undue negativity from random nonentities who can't even afford your services or cross your path on a normal day is where they draw the line.

The mistake he made was trying to be liked by people. He should have left his account to be handled by social media managers only and only speak when absolutely necessary and relates with his business.

Fashola's time in Lagos was one of the most effective, not because he spent more or did anything special, but he made sure everyone understood there are consequences for their actions. He brought back discipline and accountability and everyone hated him at first because it affected one or two people they knew but eventually when people saw the benefits outweighed the inconveniences, they adjusted.

We need to start understanding that these are the tough decisions that need to be made for anything to work out.

That's not how freedom of association works. You can associate with whomever you want. Why will a missionary school not allow a Muslim student use hijab since the student has the right to associate with whoever she wants? They can resign from working for Dangote and go to anywhere they are free to associate.

It's not a constitutional thing, if it was, NUPENG will be taking Dangote to court by now. If the drivers working for Dangote don't want to be members of NUPENG, it's within their right as well. But they know they can't win in court, that's the reason they are using the strong-arm tactics of going on strike to hold the country hostage and force hardship on everyone else.

Dangote is a private entity. It's like ASUU striking because private universities are not allowing their members join union. How does that make sense?
