Brendaniel: I'm not wrong, look at your approach to solving this problem here, isn't it clear, that's how you people including Tinubu do your things....
dismissing the officers did not solve the underlying problem, If I were to be in charge I won't dismiss the officers, they might get punishment, but I would go after those who assigned them to her in the first place then place a ban on assigning police officers to anyone who is not a government official that actually requires by law police officers, only the court can grant police protection to an individual based on certain cases that might be before it.
Then the police should work with private security firms to give them license to carry arms, that way private security firms will be regulated by the police, this will boost the private security business in the country, so if you feel you need protection, go to private firms and spend your money, you can't be using the police which is not even enough for Nigerians for private use...
isn't this a better way to solve the problem, even if Angela or any person wants to use the private security to do jogging or act porn, it is her money, nobody will be bothered, do you know that the number of police men attached to private individuals and politicians are more than the police men doing work for the remaining Nigerians?
Isn't that a problem to you and Tinubu? maybe not, that's you people will call dismissal a solution to a problem that is systemic, imagine dismissing police officers when their number is not even enough and the cause of their dismissal has not been solved...
You see why I said you people like attacking symptoms and leaving the problems unsloved.... Dude, what's with the "you people" tag? Address issues without trying to subtly bully people. You made a whole lot of suggestions but forget you're in a country where funding is an issue. Assigning police personnel to private citizens that can afford it is one of the ways the NPF gets funding. You can talk about creating a seperate section of the force that uses none-lethal/defensive weapons and are strictly only for private citizens except in times of crises where they'll need to assist the main police force but stopping it outrightly is just creating more problems for the future. It's easy to make plans and say you'll do this and that when you have unlimited funds but that's not the case. A lot of people have seen these issues and even had better ideas than yours but once they got there, the reality was different. You are dealing with powers that be, people that have more influence and resources than you. |

And you'll leave Seyi and Remi Tinubu out of your follies going forward? Lol... You thinking I'm an Obi supporter just shows how shallow your thought process is. What do you mean you can't hand over to police because corpers and family begged? It seems you don't know how court cases work. For you to try them, the uncensored version of the videos will need to be turned over to the police and the court. Virtually everyone involved with the case will see the video including random people present in court during proceedings. They also will have to testify, do you know how traumatic that can be? They have to be available to attend court sessions which might take years. We haven't spoken about the likely hostility they'll experience in the community for the remainder of their stay from people who are only loyal to their tribes men. When you hear people praying for you never to have a court case, say a big AMEN! It's exhausting to everyone involved. I get where they are coming from. Its not the best option for the sake of justice but if it brings them peace, then I'm good. |

jara: It does not make sense for any of these traditional rulers to confer title beyond their domain of power intruding into another Oba's sphere.
What I do not like is the Alafin trying to put Ooni under him because it was his father's title. Once Ooni passed on his tittle to the caretaker of his (father's) business, Oranmiyan moved on. Oranmiyan, his father moved on from Bini to Oyo and established himself.
Many people do not realize that Ahmadu Bello is not a Fulani but he inherited Usman Dan Fodio's position. Who dared challenge Ahmadu Bello then?
In Yoruba culture and history, a Slave that proved himself either in battle like Ogedegbe or Ibadan warriors that save Ilorin and Oshogbo preventing Fulani overrun; could become king while a king could become a slave!
History has been unfair to Ilorin. They drove out the descendants of Fulani and burned his compound. It was the British that later reinstated the Fulani because they got a deal they could not get from Yoruba in Ilorin.
My two cents. Not for argument purposes but to at least gain more knowledge. Please mention one slave that has become king in Yoruba land without violence and bloodshed. |
