This is just one genZ trying to redefine a word.
9-5 means 9am to 5pm everywhere in the world. Nigerian employers are slave masters, and that's why most of us resume work by 8am here.
That meaning up there is just one jobless person trying to create issues where there's none. |

UKEMY: Your Taqqiyya and ignorance is topnotch. 85% of Iranians Missiles were shut down Imagine if Israel had Launched it's Jericho 2 and 3 at Iran, that means Iran would have failed to exist.
For the record Israel only destroyed; Iranian Air defence systems Iranian Nuclear Scientists Iranian Military Generals Iranian Missiles Launchers Iranian missiles Depot Iranian Drone depots etc
Try to read and be factual I'm not imagining shit. It never happened and if it never happened, it means they didn't have the capability. The Israel we all know is a vindictive and egoistic one. If they had missiles more dangerous than the ones they shot, they would have used them. Israel intercepted Iran's missiles. Lol. Lots of countries helped Israel intercept Iran's missiles. Infact Iran gave Israel heads up when they shot their first round of missiles because they did not mean for it to cause any destruction, they just didn't want to look week by not responding. The final round of missiles that they didn't announce, we all know how it turned out. Israel spent tens of millions destroying missiles worth thousands. Iran was firing soft targets, do you people even understand the meaning of war? Everyone is trying to hit where it hurts the most. If you feel my military target is where it hurts most, destroy it. If I feel your population is where will hurt you most, I'll also attack it. Trying to create rules for war to favor you makes no sense. Israel has been bombing helpless civilians in Gaza for weeks now, I didn't see you people using the same energy. Israel did this, Israel did that... But who went begging US for peace? You all choose to forget US was having peace talks with both Israel and Iran when Israel started raining bombs on Iran. Who does that? But everything Israel does is right to you all. You want to destroy a monster by creating a bigger moster. We'll all be here to see how it ends. I don't give a rats ass about either of them. But don't go condemning Iran for doing the exact same thing Israel has always done. |

Exactly my point, when he gets caught in friendly fire, his supporters suddenly claim he was speaking as a private citizen… lol. What he’s actually doing is parroting privileged inner caucus discussions he had no right to broadcast. That’s extremely wrong. I can gauge Wike’s thoughts and capabilities simply by listening to what Lere Olayinka leaks. Well... Guess his principal sees no harm in it till it sinks them both. This is why a lot of them can't survive outside politics. No corporate organization can tolerate their unprofessionalism. |

Politics › Re: Editorial: Tinubu Must Fire Lere Olayinka Now. by erad(m): 9:46am On Aug 26, 2025 |
malali: In mature politics, Lere cannot blur lines between official duty and personal opinion. If he wishes to speak as a private citizen, he must explicitly declare: “I am speaking as Lere Olayinka, not as Wike’s media spokesman.” Around the world, a spokesperson cannot publicly voice opinions, then later claim they were private once called out. The rule is simple: you either serve as a spokesman or as a private citizen, especially when your statements contradict the stance of the principal you represent. No gray area. Now this makes a lot of sense. I agree with you. I feel there should be a dedicated account for his official duty and another for personal bants. It's free for all out there, no rules of engagement. Very unethical. |
Politics › Re: Editorial: Tinubu Must Fire Lere Olayinka Now. by erad(m): 9:10am On Aug 26, 2025 |
malali:
Why is Lere Olayinka suddenly a social media visionary, seemingly outpacing even Mark Zuckerberg? Where was this same energy when politicians openly siphoned government funds? Nigerians are fed up with unelected appointees wielding power without accountability. We are not living under an autocracy. If Lere truly wants to push laws, he should resign, run for office, secure the mandate, and then present his case. As a private citizen, he can propose anything, even mandatory picture IDs for social media, but as an appointee, his duty is to serve within his role and respect the people he represents. Bro... I get you once again. But the same right you have to speak on societal issues and air your opinions without being an elected official is the same right Lere has. That's why I said you were being emotional. Lere is stakeholder in Nigeria as well as you and me. He has a right to air his opinions according to his constitutional right to freedom of speech that you spoke about earlier. He aired his opinion, he's not trying to enforce it. He only made his thoughts known like most of us do in a more civil way than most people I've seen online. We can have a different opinion from him without trying to villainize him. We've seen people say worse things than him and and we look the other way because we like them or they belong to our part of the divide. |

Botragelad: Iran is only doing what it does best, hitting soft targets. Instead of confronting Israel directly, they resort to cowardly arson attacks on synagogues in Australia just to feed their ego.
Investigations now confirm the IRGC was behind the attack.. This is what desperation looks like. If they think burning places of worship in Australia , etc somehow hurts Israel, they’re weaker than we thought. Lol When Iran bombed the hell out of Israel, same you people came out speaking gibberish. Stay one place and stop being hypocritical. |
Politics › Re: Editorial: Tinubu Must Fire Lere Olayinka Now. by erad(m): 8:17am On Aug 26, 2025 |
MaiDeribe: Not sure where you got the emotions from.....but i am glad you are able to realize logic.
What makes Lere Olayinka’s stance unconstitutional is his call to restrict or bottleneck social media access through NIN and BVN requirements.
Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution (as amended) guarantees freedom of expression and the right to hold opinions under Section 39. Trying to condition citizens’ ability to speak, comment, or criticize government on bureaucratic gatekeeping is an attempt to curtail that right without due process of law.
Olayinka is not an elected official, yet he openly advocates measures that would gag Nigerians instead of addressing the core issues of corruption and accountability. That is why I describe his utterances as anti-constitutional, they are hostile to a right the Constitution explicitly protects. OK... I get where you're coming from. But his suggestion isn't preventing freedom of speech in any way. Freedom of speech has never been the issue, the abuse of it has. If social media existed when the constitution was written, I'm sure it wouldn't be as vague as it is. I get you, but I also want you to understand the constitution has to protect everyone, as well as laws. Now when random people come and harass/bully someone online, that's freedom of speech, right? But what laws protect the person being harassed/bullied? At least if you'll throw stones at me, do it with your full chest and with the understanding that there will be repercussions if you're doing it maliciously. So if his intention is to gag people from expressing themselves rationally, then that's just wrong. But if his intentions is to protect those at the receiving end of cyber bullying and online harassment, I think he has a point. Freedom of speech and reckless statements are different. |

malali:
I do not stand with any politician. I stand with Nigerians. Lere Olayinka’s utterances are condescending and outright anti-constitutional. If he wishes to continue talking recklessly, then he has no business holding public office and should be fired immediately. As an appointee, his duty is to respect the electoral mandate that put his boss in office, not to insult Nigerians. Not sure I care about most of what you wrote, they sound more emotional than logical. However, the unconstitutional part interests me. What has he said that is unconstitutional? |
