TrueHeart365:
Please how do i charge for this kind of work?

I'm good at graphics design but some clients taking advantage of me because I'm new to the business side of it. I keep getting deceitful figures from my colleagues whenever i ask for advice (too high or too low).

I notice these clients run back to me after they must have been billed by competition and I end up doing the work at a loss due to inconsistent pricing and fear of losing them.

please, any pro in the house should help me as i have a new client that is asking for a price and i don't want to mess things up again.

thanks.
What's the highest you've charged and the lowest? And for what services?

Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
You are a student but that doesn't mean you should economize on quality.

When it comes to design, always pay for the best.
You'll understand better down the line.

That said, all the best both with getting a worthy designer that can convey your vision and in your endeavors.

Thank you.

Bro...
With all due respect, there's nothing minimal about this logo.
You guys should stop throwing terms around just to sound professional.
I don't even think the design is a vector but that's a story for another day.

Please do your research, learn the basics and stop misinforming people and painting designers in dull colors.

Thank you.

PS: Nothing personal.

Unnecessary brouhaha...

The organization can enjoy her services while she was alive but can't take care of her funeral,
what sort of nonsense is that?
Then they should arrange for her to be flown to Nigeria for burial.

She is a nun and that means the church is her family or is that not the whole point of not getting married and having kids?

This looks too much like cheap blackmail and propaganda.
Art, Graphics & VideoRe: I Need A Good Graphic Designer. by erad(mod): 11:12am On Feb 15, 2020
I think we have sites like 99designs and freelancer for this sort of design contest arrangement.

Unfortunately, this section doesn't support slave trade.
Many designers here have their portfolios on this site, and there are as well many portfolio threads you can go through to find the right designer(s) for your project.

Everyone deserves to get paid for their efforts.

Stop DISRESPECTING designers.

PS: I hope when you want to register your company, you'll also go to crime section and tell the lawyers there to register and post the documents so you'll know who did it best and should be paid.

Top PagesNairaland Portfolio For Logo Designers by erad(op):
Hi guys,

We are here again to provide members of Arts and Graphics section on Nairaland an opportunity to showcase their works, logo designs specifically.
This is not for comparison purposes, to criticize, oppress, or brag. Just a thread where designers can exhibit their logos and members, guests, fellow designers and potential clients can access, admire, constructively criticize your works and know how to contact you for your services now or later. It can serve as a mini portfolio for the designers.
It's also to prove that Nigerian designers are up to international standards and should be accorded their due respect.

Just like always, same rules apply, for organization purposes.

*All designers will have a maximum of four(4) attachments only.
*Each attachment will have a 800px by 200px dimension.
*The first attachment must carry the designer's logo only as well as his/her contact details if he/she thinks it's necessary.
*The other three(3) attachments will contain maximum of four(4) logos each for clarity purpose in no particular order.
*All designs submitted must be the genuine work(s) of the designer submitting it, any forgery or false claims will lead to deleting the affected post and appropriate actions will be taken against the culprit.
*People should try to avoid asking for a designer's price, number, mail, etc on the thread. Their contacts will be on the first image they upload, if they follow the instructions. Any such comments will be promptly removed.
*While I understand some people have no appreciation for this kind of thing, I'll appreciate if we all can respect each other and be as civil as possible. We owe each other that much.

Designers are advised to pick out the best of their designs to better impress visitors and potential clients. No text here except for a brief greeting, just your designs speaking for you.

Have fun.
Thank you.

To potential clients...

* Please understand that professional designs don't come cheap.
* Nobody is trying to exploit you, a designer will only charge you based on what he/she feels he/she is worth.
* If what they are asking is above your budget, please try to negotiate respectfully without demeaning statements and insults.
* When you eventually experience the quality of that cheap design, please don't project your disappointment on all designers. You got what you paid for, deal with it.
* Thank you.

From the early days in school, you love to play with colors and likes the drawing period. As you grew in age, so does your passion for design so much so that you decided to choose it as your career. With attention to detail, creativity and the ability to play around with colors, you are all set to become a great logo designer.

To make your dream come true, you join a logo design company. Unfortunately, you start moving away from the core principles of logo design and started following the latest logo design trends. Although this approach might work it can also backfire, therefore, it is important to stick to the basics when creating brand logos.

If you want to refresh some of the golden rules of logo design that you might have learned along the way then you are at the right place. Here are seven golden rules of logo design from logo design specialist David Airey that will turn you into a better logo designer.

1. Lay a Solid Foundation

Ask any logo designer and they will tell you that each project teaches them new things. Every client is different and every designer has his or her own distinct style for creating logos. To make sure that all the stakeholders stay on the same page, it is important to develop a consensus. That would happen when you ask the right questions from clients.

This will help you build a solid foundation for your logo design project and understand what the client exactly expects from you. Do in-depth research and lay the groundwork for your logo design projects, which you can build upon and create exceptional logo designs that both your clients and their audiences will love.

2. Sketch, Sketch, Sketch

With so much emphasis on digital tools, logo designers have almost forgotten how to use their sketchpad. Sometimes it is better for logo designers to ditch screens and mouse, pick up their pen and paper, and start sketching. Technically speaking, sketching makes it easier to play around with shapes and place them exactly where you want them. In addition to this, you can use your sketches as a prototype, showing your clients what your logo will eventually look like.

https://dubaimonsters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/c-595x470.jpg

This also helps clients visualize the final version and request changes if necessary on the spot, saving you time and resources on rework. Paula Scher, a designer who created the CitiBank logo, drew the first sketch of CitiBank’s logo on a napkin during one of her initial meetings with CitiBank’s higher-ups. The sketch had the iconic umbrella over the evergreen wordmark. That sketch was later refined into what we know today as CitiBank’s logo. The sketch looks something like this.

3. Keep It Relevant

A logo can tell a lot about your brand. From its shape to its color to its typeface, it can create a perception about your brand in the mind of the viewer. That is why it is important that you pay attention to minor details. Choose logo elements that align with your brand personality. For instance, an elegant font will suit a high street brand than a lower end one. Make sure that your logo rationale aligns with the brand personality of the client’s brand.

https://dubaimonsters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ma-890x325.jpg

The best example is Amazon’s logo. The arrow pointing from “a” to “z” shows that Amazon sells a complete range of products in its online store. McDonald’s logo is another great example of what a relevant logo looks like. The famous golden arches are a symbol depicting mammary glands, which is a sign of nutrition. This reflects that food at McDonald’s is nutritious and tasty.

4. Make Brand Recall Your Priority

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
...Leonardo Da Vinci

When it comes to logo design, simple is always better. The more complex your brand logo is, the harder it is for your customers to remember it. From a marketing standpoint, you want your customers to recognize your brand from its logo. This would only happen if you have a simple and clean logo design.

Just look at the Nike logo and you will understand what I am talking about. That black swoosh is widely popular around the globe and anyone can recognize Nike products just by seeing the black swoosh symbol on their products. Unlike other logos that have gone through an evolution, the Nike logo has maintained its original look.

5. Make It Stand Out

There are millions of brands in the world and every brand wants to stand out from the crowd. That is why every brand has their own unique logo. As a logo designer, you are expected to think outside the box, come up with unique logo ideas and convert them into physical equivalent as well. Instead of copying other brand logos, you should strive to differentiate your logos.

https://dubaimonsters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/a.png

There is a common misconception prevalent among logo designers that you will have to create something out of this world to make your brand logo stand in a separate league. With minor tweaks and touches here and there, you can give a logo a truly unique look. Apple Inc’s iconic bitten apple logo is a great example of how logo designers can create novel logos with minimum effort.

6. Let Your Logo Speaks For Itself

https://dubaimonsters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ss.jpg

Do not try too hard to show what a brand does with its logo as it would, in most cases, ruin it. It would be much better if you give your logo voice and let it speaks for itself. You do not have to use your brand name in your logos. Shell logo is the perfect example of how you can say everything with your brand logo without saying a single word.

7. Fill Colors At The End

When creating a logo, always create a black and white version of the logo first. This will help you stay laser-focused on logo idea and pay attention to logo elements instead of worrying about colors. Once the monochrome version of your logo is complete, then breathe new life into your logos by adding colors to it.

UPS logo illustrates this point perfectly. The black and white version was created initially by paying attention to details. Soon after the completion of the black and white logos, colors were added to it. It gives the UPS logo much more refined look. You can achieve the same refined look for your logo by following the same process.

Which golden rules of logo design do you adhere to when creating logo design? Feel free to share it with us in the comments section below.

Lol...
Typical problem with Nigerians.
Trying to be an authority at everything without access to necessary facts.

1. There's no guarantee that scene hasn't been tampered with.

2. No one knows which part of the room she was found or where the struggle(if any) occurred.

3. For the person talking about why someone thinking of suicide with take medications, does he know how old the drugs are?
Besides if you've ever been depressed(not the ones looking for attention), the transition from "I love my life" to "f*ck this sh*t" takes seconds.

Watever the case may be, I'm not in the right position to make any deductions and by extension, conclusions.

The only evil greater than being uninformed, is being misinformed.

Thank you.

Art, Graphics & Video8 Benefits Of Branding: Why You Need A Strong Brand by erad(mod):
Everyone knows that having a strong brand is important, but what exactly does it do for a company?

“Branding” seems to be something that startup companies are constantly hearing. If you’ve ever visited an entrepreneurial conference or watched a startup business video online, chances are you’ve heard the word brand hundreds of times in one hour.

So what’s the big deal about branding? What are the benefits of branding? Will having a strong brand actually set a business apart and give it an advantage against its competitors?

Any great business marketing company will tell you: yes. Having a strong brand will definitely help a business stand out and surpass the competition.

What is a “Brand”?

Everyone’s idea of branding is different. Some people think it’s simply the fonts and colors a company decides to use. But if you’ve got a real understanding of what a brand is, you know that it includes at least some of the following:

|| Design Style (eg. logo, colors, typography, and packaging)
|| Website and Marketing
|| Storefront
|| Social Media Presence
|| Customer Service
|| Environment and Company Culture
|| Taglines and Slogans
|| Product Quality and Pricing
|| Philosophy and Overall “Personality”

Developing a strong brand doesn’t always take millions of dollars, but it does take a lot of creativity and research.

As the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos, states;

“A brand is literally what people say about your business when you’re not in the room”.

Basically everything they *think* and *feel*, which is why branding is so important.

What Makes a Strong Brand?

There are many things that make brand strong.

Uniqueness, quality, a clear message, a solid philosophy, targeted marketing, and audience awareness are just a few. Typically, what makes a brand great isn’t just one amazing thing—it’s a combination of several.

A great example is Ikea. While they’re definitely not a small startup, they perfectly exemplify a strong brand. Why? Because they’re known for their low prices, giant stores, customer experience (cheap meatballs and set-up room displays!), and blue-and-yellow colors with the blocky font.

https://justcreative.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/ikea.png

Similarly, fans of Apple are die-hard devoted because of not just one, but several key branding factors: the sleek look. The promise of quality products and innovation. The atmosphere of the stores. The story behind it all.

When you think about companies who are so powerful that they may as well be considered religions (like Apple, Nike, Coke, Amazon), consider that they all combine many things to make their branding work. It’s not just a logo. It’s not just a tagline. It’s not even just marketing research. It’s all of that, and much more.

Even a brand that’s much less well known—for example, let’s take the Screamin’ Sicilian Pizza Company, which makes frozen pizzas—employs many branding factors that come together to create a remarkable strategy. Their website, choice of verbage, font, and packaging make them stand very far apart from their competition. They are the ‘purple cow‘ in a sea of sameness.

https://justcreative.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/screamin-sicilian-design.png

What are the Benefits of Branding?

So why is branding so important? What does having a strong brand actually do for a business? It’s an ever-changing climate, but here are 8 key benefits of branding:

1. Customer recognition
2. Customer loyalty
3. Consistency
4. Brand equity
5. Credibility
6. Attracts talent
7. Allows shared values
8. Gives confidence

https://justcreative.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/branding-benefits.png

1. Customer Recognition

Never underestimate the power of familiarity. When a customer is shopping and sees the unmistakable typography/colors/images of a brand that they recognize, they’re more likely to grab that product than the sea of others that are surrounding it. Why? Because it’s eye-catching and familiar.

From something wild and eye-popping (like the aforementioned Screamin’ Sicilian pizza) to something simple and zen (like And Union beer), good branding will click inside shoppers’ minds.

2. Customer Loyalty

Once shoppers begin to recognize and buy a service or product, a good brand can keep them coming back for more—and can make them loyal “followers” of that brand. When a company combines a great product with engaging branding that hits all the right notes with shoppers, a business will see their customer loyalty begin to build and build and build.

3. Helps Keep Marketing Consistent

Once a business has its branding in place—a company philosophy, marketing, colors, typography, print, website, etc.—it can begin to modeling the rest of its efforts after it. When there’s “set” branding foundation in place, it makes other choices much easier, and all of the company’s future marketing can branch off of it.

4. Brand Equity Maximizes New Product Launches

When those little M&M characters are onscreen promoting the launch of caramel M&Ms or pretzel M&Ms or whatever new flavour is arriving, everyone pays attention because they’re so familiar with those guys. A huge benefit to strong branding is that it helps promote new products and services. People will be automatically interested because they’re already familiar with a brand. So if you bring our a new flavour, product or service, a strong brand will help launch it!

5. Increases Credibility

When a business has solid branding, it increases that company’s credibility within its industry, as well as with customers.

Innovative marketing paired up with phenomenal customer service and interesting visuals will establish a company as a serious professional business.

6. Attracts Talent

When a business has great branding, people notice. And often, those people who are noticing are very talented influencers, social media marketers, or website designers, or concept builders. When a business is doing an excellent job with branding, this caliber of thinker often wants to be a part of what that business is doing. And when a company allows people like this in, they’re adding to their creative powerhouse.

7. Allows Shared Values

When a company connects with their customers through shared values, it can create loyalty for life, and can even go into future generations.

Take Toms, for instance. These shoes are very nice, but the main thing that this brand is known for is their donation of one pair of shoes to someone in need for every pair that’s sold. This is a great example of branding that transfers over the generations, because parents strive to teach their children to give. Harnessing a shared emotional connection between company and customer is one of the key points of branding.

8. Gives Confidence

Here’s a nice one: good branding not only gives confidence to the customer, it does a lot for the actual business owner. With great branding, all of the energy, time, money, and work that has gone into a company comes together as a complete and professional presentation. Branding exists to further the original product or service. It pushes it forward by grabbing the public’s eye and making them pay attention. Good branding is for the public, but it’s also for the business owner to appreciate what they have created and built.

Make Sure All the Bases are Covered

As you can see, great branding does quite a lot more for a business than just making it look pretty.

When done properly, strong branding can advance a business further than the owners ever thought possible.

If you’re a business owner who is looking to progress your company with strategic branding, be sure to make sure you’re covering every area so that you’re not missing out on any opportunities.

So read can apologise. When I expressed my own emotions weeks back about a dubious cliebtm you typed over 50 lines to vilify me based on emotions expressed and not service rendered. You didn't judge me based on performance but based on emotions. You entirely chose the side of the dubious client despite knowing fully well I was the victim of a dubious client. You only saw outbursts and emotions.

Today, you had people convey their houhts about your words and you apologised. You addressed me without giving me chance to express why I was angry that day like I was condemned to not have a right to express myself in the face of negative treatment

When judging issues let's not sound absolute

I read your comment the other day and I laughed at how you rashly judged me albeit even falsely. I required a client paid advance deposit after doing his entire designs to be assured I wouldn't be ripped off since I've done the job already, you forgot to judge me asper the job done and the actions of the client, but rather focused on emotions. Who won't be angry working two days and getting ripped off?

In another case bro,,judge aright. Youvgave verdict to a thief the other day, I didn't reply you lest you said I was emotionalm just as you are today. Without expressed emotions, we're notnhumans bro.
