viperman:It's people like you that destroy professionalism in Nigeria. And after you succeed in encouraging mediocrity, you start crying to whoever cares to listen that Nigerians are lazy and unprofessional. A yoruba saying goes thus... Whatever you can't accept as a rich man, it's from your poor days that you'll start rejecting it. It's people like you that destroy the industry with your greed and still expect it to grow. Why not seek a professional designer? Because you'll rather pay a mediocre roadside designer peanuts to give you mediocre designs. We know our worth and won't settle for less. |
This is more of an insult than encouragement. Most designers here definitely charge more than 10k for a logo design. But you want to have a wide range of designs and pick one of them for 10k? Asides that, you'll be wasting the time and effort of the others who didn't 'win'. Time they could have invested in probably developing themselves. So as far as I'm concerned, this is an insult. |
Hmmm... A day short. I am February 22... Happy Birthday! Wish you God's best now and forever. Aminat508: |
tripplephi:LOL... It's obvious you are a newbie here. Those who know me know my worth. You can go through my profile and learn a thing or two. You can check my free jobs too, because I'm not doing it now doesn't mean I haven't done it before and won't do it again. I'm not a fan of mediocrity, never been and never will be. Thank you. |
tripplephi:Dude, your arrogance is beyond me. The guy didn't specifically ask you and he didn't force you either, what's now the essence of your grumpiness. What is worth doing at all is worth doing well. One would even think what you designed is bad-ass, it's obviously off-brief and blatantly mediocre. SMH. |
MayorRazor:Thanks bro, I appreciate the kind words. |
GreatManBee:Kindly mail me at darefunflick@yahoo.com. Prices are too sensitive to be discussed here. Thank you. |
MsAnne:Happy birthday ma'am (in arrears)... So sorry it came late, didn't come on yesterday. I hope you had fun. Cheers. |

totorimi:I totally understand your point. While good branding is an important ingredient of a good product, it's not the only ingredient. Of course, why will anyone want to brand a bad product? It can be likened to painting a regular horse in pure white and attaching a horn to its forehead for it to pass as a unicorn. For how long will the deceit last? Someday the paint will wash off, or the horn will detach. Or what happens when they expect it to fly like the mythical unicorn but it can't? In essence, regardless of the face lifting, a horse can never be a unicorn. Just the same way a good brand can never make a bad content good. Sooner than later, it'll eventually fall apart. |

Bonapart:Very stupid comment. If they don't believe in spirituality, how's it any concern of yours? Why can't y'all just do your thing and let others do theirs? For your mind now, you don make sense. Silence would have really done you a lot of good. Learn to respect the opinions and beliefs of others. If God wanted us all to believe in the same thing, he sure has the power to. Besides, it's "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). |

One of the greatest challenges to Start-ups/businesses/products in the 21st century is improper identification and in other cases, no identification at all. It's one thing to run a business, it's another thing for your business to get the required recognition and attention. So how then do potential clients/consumers get to pay attention to what you have to offer? Did I hear you say advertisement? Yes, advertisement on various forms of media. But how do you advertise a product that doesn't have an identity? Firstly, whats the definition of Brand (Identity)? According to wikipedia, "A brand (or marque for car model) is a name, term, design, symbol or other feature that distinguishes one seller's product from those of others". According to www.investopedia.com, "A company’s brand identity is how that business wants to be perceived by consumers. The components of the brand, (name, logo, tone, tag line, typeface) are created by the business in an attempt to reflect the value the company is trying to bring to the market and to appeal to the customers in the market where the company sells its goods". In other words, a company's brand identity is like the environment of a building. The colors of the walls, the gardens, the gate, the walkway, the garage and every other thing you'll encounter outside a house before going in. The state of the environment gives you an idea of what to expect inside. It's a classic case of judging a book by it's cover. Let's have a little illustration... See image below. You are chilling on your balcony one hot afternoon when you heard an advert running on the radio... "Drink Aunty's Soda... Natural and refreshing." "Wow! This drink must be good one, let me go get it". I get to the store and while trying my best to search for and stick to Aunty's soda, I just can't take my eyes off the colors and grandeur of one other soda pack, Uncle's soda. "I think I'm being hypnotized. I can't stand it anymore".Eventually I give in to this soda of superior beauty. "So sorry Aunty's soda, you got the substance but Uncle's soda got the charm". Charm wins, always. Brand identity is like giving a voice to your products, allowing them speak for themselves. To advertise themselves, to enchant everyone who comes their way. It is about understanding the law of attraction, obeying it and mastering it. Most people believe branding is not so important, they end up being wrong. You can't be in 10 different places at once, but your brand can. Is it worth the huge amount some designers charge for it? In my opinion, a strong brand identity is worth every penny paid for it, even if it's in millions(maybe that's why multinationals can afford to pay that much for it). Are you not the same person that opened a photography thread some hours back? What exactly do you have passion for because it seems you are a devoted student of the "trial and error" school of thought. Sit yourself down and think of what you love, not what you think you can cope with. Back to your question. Selfies are not a suitable way to know your modelling potentials. Maybe you should take full shots and let's see what you have to offer. Thank you. |
