pointblank247: Good day wonderful people. I plan to join your club of Range rover owners. I need all the advice I can get on buying a Nigeria used Range rover. It's not my first car but it's my dream car. Thank you in advance for your advice.
Edygrin: Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Zyad Ibn Isah, says the UK Metropolitan Police is far from being perfect despite rising from its messy state in the ’80s.
Babathanks: No issue but please stop calling our Lagos no mans land because you guys flood there with your population. Respect is reciprocal. I was born in Kaduna, I almost know everywhere there and non indigene plenty there. We non indigene dare not call there state no man's land because we know how brutal Hausa peoples are. Don't take Yoruba nicest as weakenest
The funny thing is it was a group of yoruba people who called LAGOS a no mans land cos its made up of everyone from the yoruba nation.Ondo man and Ekiti man will identify as Lagosian cos they where born there, SO why cant a Benin man identify as a Lagosian as he is born there? I will say this one last time TRIBALISM IS FOR POOR PEOPLE>the Rich do not give a toss.
mrvitalis: Oga tell him to lift the executive order allowing import of every product from any port you choose
I would give you are any of you defending this rubbish 100 million naira instantly if you can import pharmaceuticals or electrical equipment from Onne, port Harcourt or calabar ports
I have Sir. In a 40 feet container talking Onne .My Mrs imported glass tables and general home wares via Onne port as well.
Gistmedia10: A wedding ceremony in Edo State has stirred online discussions after a video surfaced showing a bride sitting on her father-in-law's lap multiple times. This act, rooted in Edo tradition, symbolizes the bride being handed over to her new family. The father of the bride typically sits her on the groom’s father’s lap seven times as a ceremonial gesture of transfer and a plea for the groom’s family to care for her.
While many defended the practice as an integral part of their culture, some netizens expressed discomfort with the method, arguing that it might not resonate well in modern times. One user commented, "Some things need to change. Not because the intention is bad, but because the method is."
Others passionately upheld the tradition, emphasizing its symbolic value. Another commenter wrote, "This is normal in our tradition. It’s called handing over; it’s not just symbolic but a heartfelt gesture to ensure the bride is received with love and care by her new family."
The video has sparked a wider conversation about balancing cultural preservation with evolving societal norms.
In my t4adition sh3 sits on the lap of the groom 7times instear.I do t understand this father inlaw lap and in mytradition the sitting is not do e by the bride,p's dad rather a woman from th3 brides father side who is in marriage and only has had one husband for life.
Ojiofor: LOL..There was Enugu and Asaba airport why did Anambra build one for themselves? There was Calabar airport why did Akwa Ibom build their own. There was PH airport why did Imo and Bayelsa build their own. Abia state is joining the league of airport owners. The project is unstoppable.
As busy as Lagos is.they only have one local airport.dont u think there is a reason for that? That is smart investment.they went railway way.
Ojiofor: Whether international or local Abia airport will be viable.Even if its local airport at least when one lands in Abuja or Lagos he can take direct local flight down to Abia state instead of going to PH or Owerri then travel for hours by road to your destination in Abia state.
The rest aint viable as they make no profit. So why do you think youues will?I recon you ar3 bein sentimental on this.My own state built one.we sqid thesame thing but ofcos the governor built ot on inflated contracts. Now howmuch does it make negetive naira.
Ojiofor: Bros sorry o...all this unsolicited advise is not needed or helpful. You are not more knowledgable than Nigeria federal government who in their wisdom decided to build air strip in Abia state but our governor decided to upgrade it a standard airport instead and you are here saying what I do not know.Abia state is host to most successful club in Nigeria and one of the best football clubs in Africa that plays intercontinental league every season,Enyimba and other visiting teams needs the airport in Abia state they shouldn't be travelling to other states before they can board a flight.Abia state deserves the best of modern infrastructures in our own land.Next should be 5 star hotel and fifa standard stadium befitting of our two great football teams Enyimba of Aba and Abia Warriors of Umuahia.Anybody who thinks Abia do not deserve an airport should just keep quiet.
B4 u go braggin 2much I hope U know he is talking about a domestic airport not international airport??and U cannot force any airline to fly there.this is why tbe warri Airport and bayelsa one grow grass..Dead route.
Edygrin: Forget party affiliation or anything, all these politicians are the same.
Is an airport the immediate need of Abians? That's how Ebonyi built that white elephant project called an airport that only the governor uses.
There's an airport in Anambra and Imo, an International Airport in Enugu, another one in Uyo, Akwa Ibom which are all neighboring states, why then does Abia state need an airport again if not that the government is looking for a way to loot.
This was what Im trying to tell this my friend here Ojiofor
Ojiofor: Bro do you know how bad the road between PH to Aba is? If the road and rail infrastructure is good no problem in a situation where a journey of 45 minutes will take over 3 hours to get to your destination due to bad condition of the road it is very incovinient for international travelers.I normally land in Owerri or PH before before traveling down to Abia.As I said majority of Abia people are in support of this project. My sister lives in London and will be traveling next week to Nigeria I know how happy she was when I told her about the Abia state airport project.
I know how bad the roads are, but can I ask, what was the last time you took a domestic flight within Nigeria? you do realize it now cost like N280k one way from PHC to Lagos not only that, the flight is liable to be delayed for up to 7 hrs with no apology and regards? And how about the lack of compression in these flying cage called airlines in Nigeria./ Bross the only downside on roads are Armed robbers on the road but then again rebuild roads and a good rail link wil solve these problem.
JuicyEarth: The system of Nigeria transport system is trajectory. Get what is been offered first that will aid development and then wait for supplement. When this project came, it was as an airstrip but the Governor knows what best suits residents of his state.
Rail transport system is not off the book but both does not serve same purpose and same class of people. Someone like me won't trust my life on a fast track than an airplane. Limitations also a bound in rail transportation as it is not easily connected within the federation.
So as we speak trust a domestic plane in Nigeria than Train? Do you or have you taken into consideration that a train line will be far cheaper and serve everybody instead of those who are rich and can fly? Let me even shock ,I dont fly in Nigeria I drive everywhere that I realy need to be when I visit.I drive from PH to Benin or Okada to the west, and I can drive to Aba and Onitsha to the east, I do that often.Im always on teh East west road when I land Nigeria
Ojiofor: You are saying so because you are not a traveler,I am from Abia state and I know the stress of either landing in PH,Owerri or Enugu then arrange logistics that will take you to Abia state from those airport risking very bad road and coupled with insecurity along the way any time I am visiting Nigeria. Then on my way back same risky journey to PH,Enugu or Owerri. How awesome it will be to leave my house in Umuahia and get to the airport within 20 minutes.Who no like better thing? We support our governor make una rest.
Bross I left Nigeria since 2000 and I have traveld the whole continent in the world due to work, which kin travel U wan talk about wey I never travel? remain small make I go moon.Back to the topic, I drive from PH to warri to sapele everytime I land Nigeria Via PHC Int.I am not being tribalistic, Im making a statement of fact.Im from Delta but based in PH when Im in 9ja, We have airport in Asaba, we have in Osubi, of what good has it helped the man on the street? My younger sis travel from Abuja to Warri via Railway few months ago ,compare that to flying? How many traders fly from Lagos to PH or Anambra? but if there was train line they will all jump on it. NB, if there was a train line from PH to your house in Abia it will take you less than 30mins to reach home p lus it wont only serve those flying rather everyone, and this can be achieved with less money.
JuicyEarth: Let me buttress the above observations from you and state why Abia needs it own Airport as follows; 1. Anambra Airport is more than 2hrs:00 mins drive from the closest boundary of Abia to its location while Owerri is more than 1hr:15mins drive from Umuahia (The state's capital not even Aba the economic hub of the state)
2. Enugu Airport and Akanu-Ibiam Airport are both more than 2hrs drive from Umuahia..
3. I am stating facts because I use them...
4. You asked why the State needs an Airport, right? Firstly I can tell you that more than 50% of OWR and UYO passengers are from Abia state..we service these airports, raise internally generated revenue for them at their own credit (Don't forget the new tax bill may see the heavens soonest). Now if you are a business man, does this values lost on transit a better option to an Airport that will service you within 45 mins drive from any part of Abia?
5. Prior to the siting of the Airport, considerations where made regarding how the airport will serve the mega city (Aba which is business hub) and the service city (Umuahia the capital), bringing a bridge development that will aid in the creation of new city within the Mgbarakuma axis down to Umuikaa. This is to ensure that both cities are not choked with the rapid developments happening.
6. The Airport is more of a cargo Airport with the mindset of ensuring that ease of doing business is achievable in the state.
Abia needs the Airport for more numerous reasons because it will equally lead to job creation, enhance tourism and travels. Trust me with the recent happenings in Abia, the Airport is not an elephant project that will be short of passengers.
The only problem here is OWR and Uyo will be greatly affected as more passengers will use Abia airport but it is all about the citizens of the state, internally generated revenue and development.
PS: Ask it may
How about establish Rail Lines instead, cos this wil be cheaper than an Airport.and it will benefit everyone
Ojiofor: Did you say so when your state airport was about to be built abi una no get neighbour wey been get airport before una? So will build the rail to connect those cities? Is it Abia state government?Make una carry una bad bele go sit don.
ahaha People like you are the reason Nigeria is backward, as we stand how much does the Delta state Airport generate? how much does the Benin Airport generate? how many Airline go to Enugu Int airport? PHC has just 6 airline Int that lands, so we have Enugu and PHC in the East what's the need for another one? Lagos state is expanding the SW here you are encouraging the SE to waste funds. just incase you are wondering, Im based in Port Harcourt when I am in Nigeria and I fly direct to PHC from London via German with Lufthansa so I know what I am talking about
Drella: So I bought a Cafini inverter that can be charged with solar panels and also AC power. It has radio, led light and 12V 5W bulbs(4 bulbs) The panel is 18V 30W(1 panel). The inverter output is 220V 150W. The battery capacity is 12V 12AH Lead-acid battery.
I started using it by plugging my laptop(65W) to it. Within 40 minutes, it ran down from 100 to 0. I unplugged the laptop and plugged my power bank to it. I also plugged one of its bulbs to it. It finally died after a little over 2hrs of it being on 0.
I charged it with AC power and plugged my OX fan(95W) to it alone. The fan was struggling on level 1 and was making sound, I had to disconnect it.
The seller said that’s the capacity of the battery and it is normal. If I wan’t it to last a longer duration, I should buy a external battery of a higher capacity.
Please with what I observed, is the draining normal? The battery percentage was draining by just switching on the inverter and not plugging anything to it.
saintopus: Why they've not started to sell kerosene is what I am worried about. The PH Refinery has the capacity to produce 900,000 litres of kerosene daily but could not sell it at the Filling Stations.
Why do you want to buy kerosene? its more xpenssive
Traditionalaly speaking, some group of persons wanted to take the pyss here. Why should a highly placed masquerade who aint yoruba origin go to Lagos the HQ of the yorubas,Nahhhhh good decision in my book by the Lagosians if U ask me
I drive a Nissan sunny (Almera classic), the car has been working perfectly well but started giving some issues for the past couple of days now, I was driving one morning & all of a sudden it stops responding when I press the throttle pedal, it jerks like there is no fuel in it & it went off, after few seconds I cranked it & it responded & drives normal again. The next day it stops responding to the throttle pedal whenever I rev, I would leave it for a while & crank it again, it will respond for a while & again it won't respond to revving again, but it idles very well it just respond intermittently to revving. i was advised to change the throttle body (aka injector mouth), it works & drives well for about an 1 hour plus but again the problem still came back.
Pls the car gurus in the house help!!!! Could it be the throttle pedal sensor I need to change this time around? I need Ur expertise on this problem. Again I drive Nissan sunny a.ka. Nissan Fashola or Nissan sunny.
Thanking U all in anticipation
Before you do anything, go and scan your car and bring the codes. It would be something to do with your fuel air stuff, ie,I could be a throttle body issue, Fuel pump, fuel filter, pedal position sensor etc
That's for those that sees marriage as an achievement or winning laurel. However, those of us who have experienced it firsthand, we've realize it's overrated. Having tasted marriage and discovered its limitations, i no longer swayed by societal pressures. I value my independence and freedom above all else.
