A LETTER TO MY UNBORN KIDS
To my beloved pearls and roses!!
I am sorry I am still stalling and dragging my feet a bit.I just want to make sure all is put in place for your royal arrival.I want to make sure you live a life of luxuries,comfort and undiluted happiness befitting of kings and queens.You see,the world is not really a habitable place for angels of your kind,and in all honesty i would have preferred you remain tucked safely in the haven of the other world,but who am i to mess with the natural order of things.Besides,i can't wait to behold your beautifully illuminated faces,i can't wait to rock you in my arms and show you off to the world like pearls and diamonds in a gold case.

When you finally arrive,mama will love you to bits.I will work like a horse to see that you live a next to perfect life.I promise to gift you the best dad.He won't be an ordinary man.He would be a king amongst men.He might not necessarily be of royal roots but his blood will be blue.Your father will be a man of deep intellect and understanding.So ready yourselves mentally,you have a lot to learn from him.He will treat me like a queen and i like a king,an example for you to follow.He will protect and guard you with his life.He will be ever so kind and open to your every need no matter how ridiculous or trivial.Together,your father and i will teach you with gentle patience and understanding,the ways of the world.We will listen to your every cry and tale,offering comfort and nods of encouragement wherever it is needed.I won't promise not to spank or punish you when you go off track,but i promise to keep it to the barest minimal.

I promise to be there through every stage of your lives;The heartbreaks,the boys you'd have crushes on,the girls you will be too shy to talk to,the bullies at school,the friends turned strangers,the birthdays,the tears and the laughter.Every moment,every event,i will be there.No part of your lives shall pass me by.I can see you mumbling how mama is going to suffocate you with her love.(LOL).Yes babies i will,but i will make sure to give you your space when you need it.I will be but a mentor and a guide for you to fall back on when you miss your steps.I will allow you learn some life lessons on your own.I will deliberately watch and let you commit some mistakes,i watch you stumble and rise again on your path to self discovery.Don't get me wrong.I will only be teaching you how to be strong and hold your own in a world that demands strength to survive.

Boys,we will rap your favourite tunes together.We will dance to latest songs on your playlist.I will help you compose your first love letter and be there with a big bucket of icecream when your first love deserts you.Yes,mama is that cool!!!

When you fail at school,i will pat you on the head and remind you that you were born to succeed and there is no room for failure but resounding success in your lives.I will give you the boost you need to stand firm on your feet again.

We will stay up late talking about your fears,dreams,the silly things you and your cronies have been up to,the girls you've got your eyes on,name it boys and we will talk about it,because mama has got the best pair of listening ears in the world just for you.But mind you,discipline is the keyword here.I won't entertain any form of waywardness or moral debauchery.There will be limits.There will be rules.You will hate them and thank me for them later.I just want you to grow up right and be responsible.

Girls,you will be the comfort of my eyes.Soft as roses and beautiful like the moon when it eclipses the earth with it's magnificence at night.We will talk about sex,boys,books and poems.I hope you will share my undying love for words.I will be your best friend and your sister.You will be so comfortable with and around me that you will be able to tell me anything and everything you'd naturally tell your bestfriends.Mama won't judge babies.I will only guide you in each step of the way.

We will go on shopping sprees and take a million selfies and pictures.I will tutor you in fashion and make up as we are not allowed to look but nothing short of spectacular and beautiful.We will rock matching outfits to outings and make others of our kind green with envy.We will rock matching pyjamas to bed also.I will teach you how to cook mouthwatering dishes and delicacies.Yes,mama has a knack for cooking and it is safe to say without meaning to brag that i am a great cook.We will experiment and play around with food.We will transform our kitchen to funville.

We will have our girls night out every friday night and leave daddy and the boys to their football matches.We will go out for pizza and icecream with loads of love.We will tease and pull pranks on daddy and the boys,something like switching their toothbrushes and switching the channel when they are at the peak of excitement over their football matches(lol).

I don't wish for any of you to inherit my painful periods and cramps.But if you do,i will teach you how to manage your pains.I will mold you into women of substance and intellect,and teach you how life is about more than make up,twerking,fashion and boys.That counts too,but most of all you have to be smart and intelligent.I will see to it that you excel at school and in every aspect of your lives.

My darling kids,i will raise you to love God.To bask in his infinite mercy and grace.I will teach you how to pray as that is the key to a happy and successful life.We will do our best to practice the religion so that God may have mercy on our beautiful souls.

And when days are grey,as life won't always be a bed of roses.We will stand together strong and united as a family.We will be each other's source of hope and strength.

My darling kids,i sincerely do hope we meet soon,but for the meantime my prayers are with you.Much love!!
