Education / Re: Present Day Education In Nigeria: Parents Vs Teacher Effect by erifeoluwasimi(f): 5:48pm On May 05, 2019 |
asuustrike1:This is correct. Let me shed more light with an example. I am a school administrator, a parent once complained that her daughter is above 2 but still uses diapers. She insisted that the school should be able to train the child.i wanted her to understand that to do potty training, it is advisable to start during a weekend when the child is at home. By Monday she should inform us so we continue from where she stopped. She said the school spend more time with the child and the child tend to obey the teacher more so we should do the job. 1 Like 1 Share |

asuustrike1:That's right. But looking at my stated situation which is the recent phenomenon expecially among the rich and middle class folks. A child spends about 14 hours max and 12 hours minimum with the teacher. The child sleep 8hours a day leaving the parent with 4 hours. This has caused a mixed reactions on who has more influence on a child |

Education / Present Day Education In Nigeria: Parents Vs Teacher Effect by erifeoluwasimi(f): 2:05pm On May 05, 2019 |
Education is the process of transferring knowledge , skills or information from one person to another through a means of communication. Education does not necessarily mean schooling as many people believe. In this write-up I will be based majorly on general child upbringing which covers both formal and informal education . We have heard and seen cases where parents blames the school/teacher for poor or inappropriate behaviour of children also the school tell us that education start from home. With the present day education standards where a child join the school bus at 6am to close school by 4pm, in some cases he joins the after school program ( baby sitter,or tutorial classes) before heading home by 6pm.some also have weekend baby sitting program at school as well as part time boarding school, summer classes, summer vacation, etc In the pursuit of more profit, the educational institutions forget the importance of letting the children have their parents around. No wonder the parents throw the blames back to the school. In pursuit of career, freedom and business , many parents shun opportunity to have the kids around and expect the school to do it all. Forgetting in a class minimum of 6 children are found, the teacher may overlook your children's behaviour due to many factors such as work pressure, target settings eg lesson plans, personal issues, fear of your reaction, etc These are my thoughts..... This brings us back to the drawing board, looking at today's world, who should be responsible for the child upbringing? |

My title says it all but I still need your contribution. Looking at the recent celebrity story about a failed marriage I have decided to take a thought about failed marriages. Before we go further I am a woman and have been Married for 7 years. I think I know little about marriage. Firstly, speaking as an experienced person in marriage counseling (I head a big school where 30 Percent of my parents are either divorced or separated) each time I have issues with a child (moral or academic default) I invite the parent mostly mom. At the end of the day we find ourselves discussing the father. Blames upon blames on how irresponsible the father is or how the child is taking after the father. I end up asking the mom if she knows she couldn't raise the kids without the father why did she divorce him Note: most times it's the woman that was at fault i.e.lack of patience I have a friend too who is separated from the husband to the extent that she has refused to tell the man she put to bed till date. When she was about to put to bed she called that I follow her but I told her I couldn't because it wasn't my duty. Then she started ranting about how the man has been useless and all that. I later volunteer my sister. After the birth it was a normal birth I called my sister to come home. She said she wanted to bury the placenta that there was no one to do it. Then I asked her to return it and tell the lady to call her husband who lives just 50# can from the hospital. In summary she didn't take the placenta from the hospital. She asked a nurse to bury it and didn't bother to know if she did or not. Then I told her it was dangerous. She went back to her to her usual story of 'he is not a serious man' Just to make peace reign I called the man to find out only to find out that my friend was a cheat, the man found out and she opted for divorce. He is not ready for it but my friend asked him to leave ( they lived in a rented apartment) Same as been the story of most of my divorce parents, they cheated. When the marriage failed they find it hard to forgive themselves and they resort to ranting. Women who weren't cheating or weren't at fault are usually calm after the divorce because they know they did their best. To avoid becoming a sadist.....be transparent in marriage My opinion tho .....( Don't mind my typo and writing) Cheers 10 Likes |

IkpuMmadu:this is so true.from childhood omotola has been my mentor on marriage and career. I got Married at 20 immediately after b.sc, my husband was 26. We have 2 kids now after 8years of marriage. I'm back To my m.sc. I don't regret it . many of my friends who got married later due to hustle and career are finding it difficult to cope. They have become to independent to live or allow a man control them. Also the kind of men they find are the ones that have all n they are just looking for someone to sit at home and bear kids. It s not going down well with ma friends. Marrying early also has its stress but sincerely you will enjoy it if you plan it well 3 Likes |

This is serious. Firstly the man will be put on suspension for having remarried when his wife was alive.its not allowed in RCCG . Also DTCE will be interested in this . Why should you beat a teenage girl like this .she did right by crying out . 42 Likes 3 Shares |
