donogaga:Define the word rich from your own perspective. I'd say it is... Being able to afford whatever you need, with ease. No bad debts or loan wahala hanging on your neck Being able to enjoy freedom anywhere on earth.. that's a true definition of being rich |
SIRTee15:I'm not bragging. Its a reality. You may ask insurance companies that question or auto dealers. They'd tell you how many. Once a car is launched by the car manufacturer, in a matter of months, you'd see it on the Nigerian roads. The buyers don't go for APR wahala. They paid 100% , but over there, they spread payments with interests. |
mediclife1987:I understand you. Why not engage in a group practice? Pull some trusted colleagues together and build a hospital. You may set up an ICU or a theatre for other colleagues to use and pay you buy a ventilator and rent out. Read about The Premier Specialists' Medical Centre @VI. Group practice pays if you can't afford to build singly. |
Racoon:That propaganda no be here. Its too much |
1Sharon:We're not on same page. Nigerians buy outrightly because they mostly don't like to owe not that they're not trusted. Just like they do over there, every spllicant will be assessed and if they see you are credible, they sell the idea to you. That's what banks do here, same as auto and insurance firms. I got that option from first bank years back but I rejected it. How can I buy cars on loan and be paying additional fee called interest when I can afford it outrightly? I bought 2 Toyota corolla from metropolitan motors for our field work. Same applies to a lot of people here. On travels, you can only find plenty of youths travelling to hustle cos they feel they can live better when they go there to hustle. Sadly, they are not seeing the opportunities foreigners are seeing which make them to keep coming in. A Chinese would come with a pair of shoes and a brief case. In a few years he's already a multi millionaire. Our logistics space has been taken over by Chinese while our youths are japaing, parting with millions in the hands of travel agents, same amount they could have started a logistics business with, for instance. While schooling in America in those days I vowed never to stay back. I came back home to have my share of the market with Indians who once occupied the sector in which I'm quite relevant today. I can boldly say I own up to 45% of the market share, sending a lot of Chinese and Indians packing. The local content gave us a great advantage. Those who do drop box for usa visa can't be said to be hustling. You've got to have travel experience by visiting usa at least once before you could qualify for that. So, trust issue isn't the main reason people aren't getting loans to build house or buy cars. They don't just like indebtedness, that's our reasoning and if you ask me it pays off. No HBP, no depression or suicide, should things go awry with your income. That's one of the reasons suicide cases aren't common here, unlike what's obtainable over there. You build outrightly and pay for your car with nobody checking on you or threatening you'd lose your mortgaged house, which you've been servicing for years, cos you defaulted . That's peace of mind my dear. Nothing like it. |
1Sharon:Abi how many nigerians dey buy cars on credit you bin wan talk Come and see the rate at which Nigerians throng usa embassy, Canadian embassy, UK embassy etc for visa. You go fear nah. There's money in Nigeria for Nigerians to tour with. I remember a day i went to pick my passport at the DHL office , isolo which was dispatched by the usa embassy after a drop box application. Na that time I know say naija dey travel...no parking space that day. Most of the houses located in the eyebrow areas of our main cities were built outrightly. Our people no like gbese oo. They see it as a taboo lol. You sef know this Who even goes to bank for loans to buy car? Which bank dey grant loan even with all the requirements being met? Nigerians prefer to buy outrightly. I was encouraging my friend who lives abroad recently to go and get my type of floor tiles. Guess what he said...na big man you be nah, na big man dey do that kain tiles oo. Tell me how many Nigerians live on mortgage? Mortgage that's not even there? FYI, my passport ( speaking for myself) doesn't restrict me oo and I'm not tired of applying for visa which i always get with ease. |
AfahaAbia:You just watch your income vanish even before collecting it. We're actually richer than most of them but na greed dey worry us for naija. We build our own house with our money, no mortgage. We buy our own cars with our money, no need to worry or thinking about APR all the time, still buy air tickets and travel to where they love but they dare not travel as frequently as we do cos they've got bills to pay. Now tell me, who's richer? |
Not unexpected. They used foreign reaerves to rescue dollar in a short term, and depleted it, still lying they never touched foreign reserves. Abi na snake go there go swallow am? Only those who don't know tinubu in lagos will be expecting miracles. We know better ![]() |
Once Obi's matter hits the front page, in less than 10 minutes, the thread go don enter 3rd page. A real definition of man of the people. |
ElSudani:You mean the one preaching Muslim-Muslim ticket everywhere last year to deceive people? Those deceived have learnt a great lesson already. Religous bigotry no dey pay . They've simply taken a back seat ahead of 2027, watching the propagandist with the type of tool he will use again to deceive them again. It's been once beaten, twice shy |
Men should pity themselves by looking the other way |

oluayebenz:No offence my brother. |
Thank you all for the insightful tips, advice and the info on how I could pay for my TRV application in November, when I came here to seek help. It was really helpful for us (myself and Tech unit head) . We leave for Toronto, ON, tomorrow en route CDG for the training on the first-ever malarial test kit for all the IDPs in the country, those who can't visit hospitals to run malaria tests but can have all that done within 10 mins while they wait. We invented it in collaboration with a Canadian firm, who provided the technology back bone. See you again next time for my TRV renewal . Tnx @ justwise for the good job and for tolerating everyone. I wish you all the very best. Keep the flag flying. God bless Nigeria! Signing out.... |
oluayebenz:All this insult for me? Tnx |
mamawa123:Thanks for affirming this. A lot of people I tutored free of charge got their TRVs in 2022, up to last year May. They've never travelled anywher before. The situation is still same till now. It was just a free seminar to enlighten them during a December 2021 family retreat My technician who picked up his passport yesterday told me the crowd he saw when he went to submit his passport last Friday was nothing, compared to those he saw yesterday at manor house. He said those submitting passport for stamping forned 2 long queues . See the notification I received into the admin mail affer he collected his passport. We applied together mid November but mine was approved much earlier cos of the Can Plus advantage.

affoncad:How is this relevant to my post? That people refused to leave Canada doesn't have anything to do with your visa being approved if you do the right thing. No be today people dey claim asylum for Canada. Do you know the meaning of the Letter R in the IRCC acronym? It means Refugees. Its in their programme to harbour refugees who would later claim asylum and later get integrated. But TRVs holders are abusing this when they're not refugees. That doesn't mean Canada won't still approve your visa oo, if you prepare well. |
oluayebenz:june/july 2022 wasn't far away. The one that was refused over POF apllied first week of September 2022. He reapplied March 2023 and got approved in May. Whether 3 or 4 years back, Canada visa still follows same standard of adjudication. Like I said, that you found it hard to secure a trv doesn't mean it's same situation across board. That's the hard fact.TRV is one of the easiest,.provided you follow the rules to the letter. Read every info on this thread from the beginning. Lack of adequate information led to so many refusals. |
oluayebenz:No, never! Your experience could be different and that doesn't mean it's same situation across board. All my friends, cousins etc whom I lectured on TRV and express entry got their visa on virgin passports to Canada some years back except one. They had never travelled before that time. The reasons that one was refused were proof of funds and purpose of visit and I told him to work hard and fill the vacuum. You said you wanted to go to Canada for a conference on biohazard but you're an accountant. How's that relevant to your field? He presented a salary account of less than 1m naira closing balance...which officer would approve his visa? I'm not aware of this else, I'd have discouraged him cos he didn't tell me when he was applying, even though he said I'd help vet his documents before submitting I told him to approach one of these loan companies who ran his statements for 6 months for him for a token. He got a conference on International Accountancy whatever in Winnpeg and apllied. As a matter of fact, it was that company who presented their corporate account and acted as his sponsor though he paid a commission, still very little. They held on to his car as collateral too. He got 3 years, though he's not back since then. In a similar scenario, I had a friend who was working with a leading insurance company owned by fed govt. He simply approached his boss to write the necessary letters on the letterhead, combined with compulsory docs. He got his TRV. He had never travelled before then. |
Wonuola111:@ wonuola111. Lemme shock you with something here. Canadian visa is one of the easiest to get in the world and I'd tell you how. If only you can sit down and patiently read and research about the type of visa you need, you'd call the bluff of those agents who don't even know as much as you do. Most of them come here to tap Information silently and boom...they've turned visa pros. They use a token out of the millions of naira paid to them to buy data, gather documents and pocket the rest and I doubt they spend up to 200k each time sef , doing all these. They'd convince you that it's automatic and make you feel you're in Canada already Canadian visa doesn't require a face-to-face interview unlike US. Many applicants have a phobia for crowd and in-person interview. Some are afraid of facing the white. Except where necessary ( though rare) , IRCC doesn't need to see your face before adjudicating. This is where you are better off, you just sit down and interview yourself based on the documents you have and information already garnered about your type of visa. If you know your documents are short of acceptability, work on it, don't act in a hurry. Again, unlike US Visa, your application can be decided in a matter of months. Whereas, usa visa appointment's wait time could take a year or even more. They're always filled per minutes once slots are released. Some Trv applicants may experience this too but very rare. Canada believes so much in documentation. Get legit ones to back up your application. You can get a Canadian visa on a virgin passport if you're well prepared for it even up to 10 years if your passport is valid for 10yrs. Travel history counts but not compulsory. Instead of dashing agents who will only dash your hope in the end that millions of naira, why not use that money to go to Kenya, Mauritius, Qatar or any other country? Enjoy your money and come back to apply with legit documents. Invest in your future travels Lastly, one of the reasons most of you run to all these scammers called agents is proof of funds. Why not approach any of the legit companies offering this service for a token? Google is your friend. They'd run your salary account for you seamlessly for 6 months, they could act as your sponsor as well, depending on your agreement with them. I promise you'd not spend up to 1m naira on commission on interest. Make una try and get sense. I've made up my mind I'd not comment on this agent matter again but I always feel emotional whenever I read a thing like this. I'm too busy for all that even though writing is part of my hobbies. Pleaee stop patronising agents. Any agent who's not cool with this can always hug a transformater. You guys are evil and nemesis will catch up with you someday . |
These lottery people are scammers. I remember baba ijebu and chief kollington ayinla. The guy should take them to court . How can you take billions from people's pockets but won't want to part with anything? |
What's happening in Kogi is the consequence of allowing bigotry in our system...he must be a Muslim, no he must be hausa, no he must be ibo or yoruba. Had they allowed the legitimate joint ticket of audu/faleke to continue, knowing fully well that election season had commented, all these rogues and gbajuęs occupying Lord lugard house wouldn't have been there today but they preferred a Muslim to rule kogi and jettison legitimacy, despite proofs that bello had joined the pdp after he lost in that primary. I've stopped putting mouth for kogi mata. We go wise up someday. We're still playing. |
