If 10 people armed with an ak fire randomly at the rotor blade, there is every chance one or two will bring it down not to talk of bandits with 100 population

mrvitalis:
Either the army dont know physics, defense science or what projectiles and momentum is or he is just plain stupi.d

All you have to do is to target the rotor and hit it a few times

Hitting the blade at certain angle that can be achieved by luck via rapid firing can bring it down even

Helicopters are considered unsafe really because they are mostly unstable

im not supprised sha the other day I watched a video of army shooting at bandits abi Boko Haram...no coordination,no aiming just face direction and empty your bullets

It's really sad this is what nepotism breeds

2005? Goodluck Ebele Jonathan? Is OP on Meth?

Skyview01:
It was in 2005 and I was working working for this company in the Audit & Tax department in Lagos. I like the company no be small and me and my guy who i shall call Peter for the sake of this story, were colleagues in the same department.
In 2005, I had been with company for about four years.

My friend Peter was already anxious and looking for better opportunities outside and he started submitting his resume like Deeperlife crusade handbills upandan.

He had applied for this position in this oil and gas company in Lagos and was never called for an interview.
Luckily, he was offered a job as a manager in the Finance department at Lafarge in Oregun.

Me, I was not looking for any job as I was already pissed off with Nigeria and looking for ways to Japa. I had applications at the UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, and Denmark embassies.
Long story short, l was never looking for a job at the time.

One cool afternoon, I was sitting at my office and minding my own damn business na so the phone started ringing, I picked up the phone and asked who it was, the guy on the other end identified himself as a foreign recruiter and called to invite Peter for an interview in that oil and gas company he had applied.

I told the recruiter "Too late, Peter is now working at Lafarge and would not be interested in your job anymore"

I was about to drop the phone and go about my business when the recruiter said,

" What about you?, you are a Chartered Accountant yourself and work in the same office with Peter and we always like to hire people from your company"

Can you come for an interview the recruiter asked?

For what position, I shot back?

Oil and gas accountant, he replied, and can you come with your cv next week Tuesday.

I was taken aback since looking for a job did not cross my mind at the time and my focus was to get out of a Goodluck Ebele Jonathan mismanaged country.

Na so yours truly went for the interview, was offered the job, and resumed within one month.

That was one funny way I landed a good job without even looking for a job. I worked there for more than five years before the japa spirit took over again and I later resigned and left the country.

Later on, I will write about how I missed an opportunity to get a job at the Central Bank.

Can you tell us your story of strange circumstances you landed a good job?

Properties › Re: How Can I Avoid Being Scammed, I'm About To Buy A House by Error401: 2:19pm On Aug 16, 2023
too many people involved, i think you are being scammed
Brainbox0806:
Good day to you all, I'm on the verge of buying a house for a close family, I bare the responsibility of making payment and verifying that the property is genuine because I'm the one that introduced him to the agent.

I'm trying to be careful because of some clauses that involves the originality of the seller. Mr. A built the house from the ground, lived in it for like seven months then relocated abroad, he appointed a representative ( I think his brother) to sell the property, Mr. B ( also from abroad ) contacted a company to buy the property on his behalf, the property was inspected buy consultant C ( A company ), payment was made and the house was taken over by consultant C but Mr B never occupied the said house since Inception of the purchase, after 15 months of procurement Mr B decided to sell the property through same consultant C.

The neighbour can't ascertain the relationship between Mr A and consultant C , but Mr A has been informed by a neighbour about the presence of consultant C in the house and he confirmed that the house has been sold off . Consultant C do visit the house periodically but the house remains under lock.

The problem now is that consultant C want me to pay directly to him, refusing to give me Mr B. phone number for verification, sighting that the consent letter given to him by Mr B is enough proof. I suspect he's hiding the real price from the owner but I don't want to go ahead without verifying the identity of Mr B ( the current seller). The intending buyer is so in love with the house and cant wait to make payment but I'm hellbent of hearing from Mr B

Kindly advise.

Welcome bro. About 4 years ago. My moms sisters lost her business and was in huge debt, everything got ruined, she was a millionaire. We lived in different cities and we hardly meet. My mom knew about the situation but she never thought it was so severe till she got a call that her sister was sick. She is my mom's carbon copy.
When my mom saw her, she cried! she was so lean, she took her to our house and I was so surprised to see her loose so much weight. She started all over again with us. Started a small business and gradually forgetting her worries and recuperating.
Today she is back on her feet, runs multiple business and have her own house and cars. She has always been very hardworking.

That scenrio made me realize that Family plays a very important role in our life, I dont know about yours, if you have good people, inform them and she will surely get her life back. My sincere condolences Sir.

What if he owns a 14inches mattress? I bought a 12 inches for 80k last year. I dont think a bed is an achievemet, I have collegues who have all this luxuries, but a net balance of 500k!
I think you should look inwards to the potential and see if your man is a kind person and not someone who will never assist you or support you while he owns all luxuries.

Is that mattress on the floor? Because any man whose mattress is still on the floor is not ready for marriage.

My younger brother passed on almost a month ago after being admitted for 3 month at UCH Ibadan. The young man was in his twenties who just wrote is last paper in February. He was diagnosed of aplastic anaemia and was under medical attention untill he passed on.

The death came to us with deep sorrow and pain. I have tried to move on even though it's difficult. I still cry every day secretly but my biggest concern right now is how to get my mother to move on. She has remain unconsolable as every morning I could hear her cries as early as 4.00am daily. I had to be with her in her room talking to her.

Soon, I will be travelling and I am worried she may never find any reason to be happy.

I have spoken to her in my little wisdom and don't even know what else to be telling her.

I need our advice please on how better to handle this and what can be done to effectively help the situation

I made 4.43 and I was so Sad.
I put in too much work to earn that. I am grateful for life and pls dont make the mistakes I made, write your GRE, seek scholarships, most of my colleagues won already in the USA. Some of them dont even have 4.43, Congratulations and best of luck.

Cooolme:
My final exams were just released, and I just confirmed my CGPA, you may be thinking why I am excited over it even though it's not first class but let me explain briefly.

Starting school at a young age, I had a tough time taking my studies seriously. I didn't pay much attention to my notes. This carried on into secondary school, where my grades were just average. I managed to score 188 in JAMB, 230 in my POST UTME, got 1b, and C's in my NECO, which I used to process my admission cos my school WAEC was withheld, and I didn't bother to retake it.

I was only 15 when I started university, a friend's candid portrayal of university life had prepared me for what lay ahead, or so I thought.

My first challenge was my roommate, a very unserious fellow. His mockery of my attempts to establish disciplined study habits took its toll on me, leading to a particularly trying semester during which I had 3 carry-overs, my worst ever.

Before the next semester began, I talked to my family about changing my lodge. They advised me to stay where I was until my second year, but deep down, I knew it wasn't right for me. So, I had to hustle up cash and with the help of my beloved aunt (RIP Ma'am) I was able to rent my own space, the best and most expensive lodge around school as at that time…

This time I will be staying alone till further notice, the GP hustle began. I would read and read, only me, as I never liked group reading or night class stuff. I began to excel academically, was a thing of joy, the last time I felt that brilliant was during my Junior secondary school days.

While I was improving my grades, I also needed to earn money. My family's support decreased because my dad was sick. So, I had to balance between learning skills for financial independence and keeping up with my studies. It wasn't easy, and I missed classes sometimes, but I kept trying. Eventually, things got better, and I was even able to buy a car last year.

But life threw a big challenge at me during the first semester of my final year, my dad passed away. I had to handle a lot of responsibilities as the first son, and to make things tougher, my uncles scheduled the burial a few days before my exams. I was sick during the exams, but I pushed through and did my best.

And now, the results are out, and I did really well. I've overcome this phase of my life, and I'm so grateful. It's not just about the grades; it's about the journey of going from struggling to succeeding. Thank God for guiding me through it all.

I dont want to be tribalistic but my tribe wont bill you this much, in fact we collect the bride prize and give back to our daughter making it clearly known that our daughter is not for SALE.

budaatum:
I'm afraid I must agree with him that you supported your parents and not your future husband, though I understand how you might not have since you think loving you is shown by how much he pays for you.

Now he's paying loan for buying you and likely feels it when money he should be using to form home with you is being used to pay a loan used to buy you.

Help him pay off the loan, is what I suggest, then he might likely return to being the man you married before you let your parents put him in debt.

And try to let your parents know you are not a goat they sell in the market!

The development maybe slow, but not stangnant. However, the southwest is a region 4 times larger than south east. You only have about 3% land mass of the country, prolly a dot in the cirlce nad you are still ranting on website created by a south westerner's brains

May God help you o.
Curious345:
I am igbo, grew up in omuaran and speak better yoruba than most Southwesterners.

When I travel across yoruba land I see complete decay of infrastructure, non existence of development, medieval style living, state sponsored thuggery, mafia syndicates etc.

The most touching of them all is the current infrastructural decay of lagos and Ogun.

Lagos and Ogun has zero roads, "I can swear on my father's grave"..
From. Lekki to ajah, computer village to Agege, ikorodu, ipaja,( just keep the street name coming..) the roads have all decayed, littered with multiple large potholes, wavvy uniformity, melted coal tar, refuse filled drainages etc.
Anytime I drive my Toyota sedan on lagos roads, I weep. Yes you Heard me. I shed tears..
I ASK MYSELF THIS QUESTION "LAGOS IS RICHER THAN 32 STATES COMBINED ; LAGOS IS THE SMALLEST STATE IN NIGERIA - AND DESPITE ALL THIS, IT CANNOT FIX ITS FEW ROAD NETWORKS".
I assume it's a case of a state under hostage..

I will also come to the case of Ogun state.. Though Ogun state is about 30times larger than lagos, it's road networks are in a sorry state..
I want to belive the governor of Ogun state is in a treaty with the devil to Underdeveloped the states infrastructure.

SAYING OGUN HAS NO ROAD - is a long thing - OGUN STATE IS OFFICIALLY LIVING IN THE STONE AGE 'INFRASTRUCTURALLY' I can boldly say Ogun state is gone.. Gone and finished.. Its rate of decay is fast, 25yrs per year.. That's the rate..for every year that passes in Ogun state, it will Take 25yrs to clean up the rot, rebuild, build and meet up with time..2yrs means 50yrs..
But the SW has relied on propaganda to paint a rosy picture of itself, defying all Odds
. This shall lead to a dangerous end.

On the flipside, the SE is built with facts. It can be seen and felt, there are evidences..

The Igbos are wired to call a Spade a spade. They do not white wash or gold plate..

If you don't work, nobody will sing your praise.
nobody will open a troll Farm and bomb social media with alternate facts and propaganda to favour you..

This reality has made the southeastern politicians to sit up and perform as expected..
