Manutd19:Curry did not have the scoring record. steals record. 3pt record (402 threes on 45%) winning record. winning record (73 wins) remarkable efficiency 50:40:90 record Congratulations. You just outstupidded your previous post. |
Decale:It is not by first to render the post rubbish. What you have above does not even make any sense. I said period of consideration was Oct-Dec. Not when the coaches sat or when the list was announced. LMAO. Every player available for selection were already there long before Jan 23. In fact that was January 4th (it is online). So how many games were played by Jan 4? LOL. Which is why I kept telling you that January form for Lou and PG should not be justification for usurping Klay's spot. Coaches select reserves 80% of the time using team record. Korver, Iguodala and million others say hi. All these your talk na rubbish. If they valued individuality more fairly, players like Lou Williams and Mccollum have better chances than Klay Thompson.Sophistry again. I said team record was NUMBER ONE abi you no sabi count? Did I say individual contribution was the first condition? Then congratulations for comparing a 3rd scorer to numbers 1 and 2 in their respective teams. Now, listen señor: Prior to the selection of reserves by the coaches, PG13 had a 20.5ppg or so to Thompson's 20.1ppg. This seems to be the only form of stat you're holding on to as "individual contributions" and of course, you failed terriblyIt is not the only stat I am holding unto. It is the stat you tried to use 1. to justify your Lou and PG argument 2. To sustain your PG argument (after all, he has been blistering in February and most of January and Klay has not been). Even then, I told you that statistically those players were on par with PG shading it but he lost that margin by being number 2 on a team with a worse record than Klay who was number 3. It is as if you think saying "fail, rubbish" Insulates you from doing and posting same. ![]() Let's expand and school you mate:D.umb. Bring these stats during the period of consideration and leave with egg on your face. The margins were a lot smaller between the months that factored into the decision-making of the coaches. Offense:Ditto above. PER: PG13Between the 3rd scorer on a team of a catch and shoot player and a ball dominant small forward who is the 2nd scorer on his team? Quantum sh!t. You solved the cancer problem of the world with this. You can do your "October to December" calculation and see what your Klay Thompson still hadI did and no 3rd scoring option is doing better than Klay (inconsistent as he has been). Klay whose career stats are better than PGs who was the score first option for most of his life. The guy say na ppgThe regular red herring. Oya, produce where I said it was ppg's coaches used. As for your last bit, I could have asked you how it is my business but I get your point and nobody called them scrubs to Lowry and Horford. The question is WHO WAS MORE DESERVING OF THE ALL-STAR SPOT? That is all I am discussing even when you have tried ever so hard to change it into who is having a better season. ![]() Next time, you bring up a stat to support Warriors' Kris Middleton, ensure he's better there. Miss me with the 3rd scoring efficient option that plays for the best thing in the League, mateFirst you started from all-star spot. Couldn't defend it then you went to having a better season. The tactic was exposed then you went to coaches selected X and Y. LOL. Same person who defended the media's decision(not coaches o) to give triple double machine MVP even when someone with a marginally similar record had the 3rd best winning record in the NBA. So what is your next argument? That Curry did not deserve MVP in 2016 because Kyrie outplayed him in the NBA final? I can't put it past you. You just tried to use Jan and Feb to justify a decision that was made in December. School me? LMAOOOOOOO |
Decale:You see, you try to employ analogies too to drive your points. Here, your argument is that if coaches made a "mistake" in these selections in the past then they could have done same with Klay and Paul right? Let us put your reasoning to the test. Coaches factored: 1. Winning record 2. Individual Contributions within the considered period (Oct-Dec) Klay wins hands down in point number one so let us examine point number 2. Klay played (8 ) games in October and averaged 21ppg. (14) games in November averaged 19.79ppg. (15) games in December and averaged 21.4ppg. AS THE THIRD SCORER in the team with the winningest record. In that same period Paul George: (7) in October and averaged 19.57ppg (13) in November and averaged 21ppg and (14) games in December and averaged 20.7ppg. AS THE SECOND SCORER in a sub600 team. Fvck are you talking about? Klay's record is marginally better which can be expanded when we consider his team won many games that made his coach rest him (a 3rd freaking scoring option) as against some people who played most of the 4th quarter in a game they led by 20. Miss me again with coaches selected bla bla. What's all this gibberish?Opinions over statistics of course. Which is why I told you repeatedly that Paul will not have a great January and become an immediate all-star because of it. Has Klay been inconsistent? Yes. But so has Paul. It is absolute fraud to use his February form to justify a decision made primarily in December. Paul that has produced (2) TWO points in a whole game this very season. How's this one too awa business? This is an analogy like what you tried to do with coaches. Harden will not use Oct- Feb to become a better 3pt shooter than Curry the way recency-biasists have made Klay a fraud and Paul George the best thing since sliced bread. Na wa ooooNo, the argument was who was more deserving of the all-star spot. So the reference point should be between Oct-Dec which I belaboured inexorably. Only a fool will say Klay's having a better season than Paul but it will take a bigger fool to ignore the time frame when the all-star team was selected to now present hindsight wisdom as justification for their choice. It is disingenuous. small argument, you insert one salty, off topic comment. Today na WB as usual and James. Tomorrow, we'll start seeing Kylie JennerNiggas see me like, "What up, Killa?" Man, please stop bringin' up my past I'd really love to leave that behind ![]() |
sleekdot:Rashford is 6'2". I have seen him stand with Henry and they were about the same height. Neymar is more 5'7". Messi is 5'4. I wonder why they lie about his height as he does not need it. |
SmooshCHN:You are a better person than I am. If only 1 all star was needed this season James Harden will most likely be that guy (considering he is on course to winning the MVP). Therefore every other player (Curry included) is "not on his level". Who makes stupid arguments like that? Or because Harden has made more 3s than Curry this season therefore Curry is not on his level in shooting 3points this season. If it were the fans who got him there, that would have been the talk. That the fans don't know basketball. Oya argue with the NBA coaches who voted Klay over PG. The fact is every member of GSW dropped drastically KD included (bone his scoring numbers). He was turning the ball over more than Curry. Shaun L and Iggy feel like we were scammed post season of last year with the contracts they got. Zaza has been as unathletic and clumsy. McCaw regressed badly and Klay was part of the whole fiasco. Only D West has justified his place on the team in the stretch of games in January leading into this month. So if all GSW players don't deserve to be on the All Star team because of January let the people campaigning continue. Russell has used triple double to win MVP. Now him and James are basically still doing the same things they did last season but all of a sudden, James with arguably the better roster now deserves it. Even when "better" roster was part of what disqualified him last season. We dey here na. Superfragelisticespialidocious PG abi. Ok. |
SmooshCHN:Fair to Curry, 3rd quarter he got aggressive and was largely the reason him and KD barely played the 4th at all. My only problem is MAVS had to miss a ton of shots for GSW to get back in their groove which is a courtesy better teams will not grant us. Mavs were up by 10 in the first quarter. It was so annoying. |
SmooshCHN we are getting outplayed by MAVS a home FFS. See Klay’s passes. Jesus get Zaza out of this team. And KD and Curry should never shoot less than Draymond no matter who is daring him. |
Lannister20:Ok whatever. Thanks for the wish although it is afternoon where I am. |
So which life would you rather be living? That of an asskisser or living la vida broka. ![]() Broke Lannister that never pays his debt. I could have charged the joke to you but you would not afford it. And yea, I am taking "cheap" shots, so you'd be sure to relate. I mean considering your situation.... ![]() |
SmooshCHN:E tire me but gast reply to keep thread alive. |
Decale:It is the dumb NBA coaches who saw what you did not see Oh Clairvoyant one. I see how Cavs have won the trade against the Celtics. Your non-cataract eyes saw it too waaay ahead of time. And now, while we are seeing things, I guess we also saw the super-all star in PG when his team lost 4 straight games. I would be disappointed if people deserved all-star spots for scoring 38 and 50 against GSW. Even though I know that is the argument you have been making since you defended Sweet Lou and PG so vociferously. Pity RW did not score 34 on GSW by that time. Your non-cataract filled eyes would have voted him all-star starter over Curry as well. |
SmooshCHN:When we beat SAS 3-1 in 15/16 it was because Pop was hiding his hands for playoffs. When they lost to OKC the talk was we were lucky to have dodged SAS. But if someone else had beaten us 3-1 in the regular season, it would have showed that they figured us out. We can never win genuinely. We beat OKC 4-0 in the regular season in 15/16 and were down 3-1 to them in the playoffs but regular season is a strong determinant about how the playoffs go as long as GSW are involved. For Cavs, na, they can finish dead last in the east and will be able to flip it for a playoffs they would not have even qualified for. LOL |
Manutd19:Please make more predictions let me be laughing. If OKC got blown out it would have been because Melo was injured and Andre Roberson was out abi no be so? Was that not the reason they lost 4 straight games according to you people? Another fact is, that Warriors lost twice by huge margins to SAS last season and went on to sweep them in the playoffs. Hope you see why we don't give a rat's arse about what you feel. Yes, I brought up how they lost 4 straight games to show you don't make predictions in isolation. If Lakers and other minnows can beat this OKC team, you'd have to be a big fool to then bet against the Warriors. But then this is coming from you who saw Cavs beat GSW by a point in Dec (even when KD had to be fouled on the last play for that to happen) and still said GSW will get swept by them. The same you who saw us beat them by 35 in January and I did not hear the "huge margin" that has now become your excuse for OKC. I don't remember you telling us we led Rockets by 14pts (3rd Q) and lost by 1 after Draymond gets hurt and KD makes a buzzer beater to win the game but is only microseconds late. I have not seen your take on the game we beat them by 10 in their home this same season that we should not get you started on. I don't also recall how this wonderful Rockets team led by 17 final game and few mins into the last Q were down by 3 to the same GSW. So if these little pointers don't show you that you are just looking for hot takes like they do in a point and kill joint, I don't know the nonsense you are talking about. |
MoR2:If a sign board reads "fools hang themselves and die" you will go on to hang yourself just to prove you will not die. Enrique started May 2014 and left June 2017. That is 3 years. Pep started May 2008 and left June 2012. That is 4 years. For your argument to make sense, Enrique needed to have won UCL and La Liga before leaving so that Uefa Super Cup, Spanish Super cup and World Club cup would have been possible titles to add to his resumé. Those were the only cups Pep won in that 0.5 years you keep harping on. But your obstinacy will not let you see that if Enrique was coaching Barca now the only other trophy he could have added to increase his trophy hall would have been Spanish Super Cup. That would have made it 10. In that same period, "the Person whose achievements he equalled" had won 13. Well, Enrique would not have won that cup. We got beat home and away by RM 5-1. The person you are defending realized his goof and locked up since. You this stubborn housefly will rather get buried with the corpse. |
I actually came here to post about Timberwolves and Cavs game. So Lebron has to hit 5/7 3s, score 37 points, have 11 rebounds, 15 assists and 1 huge block plus a buzzer beater for Cavs to beat Timberwolves a home 140-138. Hmmmm. I am now beginning to fear for them. |
SmooshCHN:The guy said he will bet money last year that Cavs will sweep GSW. Don't educate just laugh. ![]() Any time anybody beats the warriors, it tells what will happen in the playoffs but flip the table and the argument will change. See how OKC became championship caliber team after losing 3 straight games. Then GSW became whipping boys because Kerr was using McCaw to mark RW. |
Roland17:I guess you are right. If I am being honest, I did not watch them when they had that good run of games. I was just seeing scorelines and checking Lebron's numbers so I assumed that they could just flip the switch come playoffs and all will be right. I think I should just accept that they have serious problems like you identified. I could not believe they messed up a 21-pt lead so bad that Orlando magic still had enough time to blow them out. Then I looked at the score reports and IT is going 3/13 0/6 from three and D Rose went 0/7. I have never seen Lue as a good coach and I made it known even when he got that ring and many said he out coached Kerr. I maintained then that Kyrie stepping up was the reason Cavs came back to win even though Bron got all the credit. I was silently amused when Kyrie left but I did not see the monster that your celts will go on to become and I know for sure they will become the GSW after the next 3 years or so. But for now, I don't think you guys have enough scorers that can match the intensity that the playoffs demand. If Gordon was playing, sure, but you and I know that Tatum and co may fold during the Playoffs. It has happened to so many rookies. In Toronto, we have trusted them too much in the past only to get let down so I am trying to be cautiously optimistic about their chances. I know Bron will leave after this playoffs but if they force out Tristan and JR and give him De Andre to go with Love they could become another beast before he eventually leaves. At this point (based on teams I have watched this year) I know the Celts are the real deal but I don't know how to rate their chances against the Cavs in a 7-game duel. That is my summary. |
DevdanSanguine:I never even thought it was a foregone conclusion last season. We got a lucky game against Spurs and that miraculous game against Cavs game 3. The difference between excellence and average is a very tiny margin. That is why even during the Cavs slump I have always maintained that they are still the team to beat in the east. The simple reason is, I am judging them by how good they are in their strongest moment (when they won 13-1 or so) and not by now when there is some palpable disharmony and lack of confidence. |
Manutd19:Saved for the playoffs. |
DevdanSanguine:I don't know about Cavs but GSW have been sh!tting the bed of late and it is not because of better opposition. Defensive rating from number 1 even midway into the season to below 10 last time I checked. Zero production from the bench. Thousands of missed open shots. Turn over after turn over after turn over. Incredibly useless rotations from the coach trying out funny things he would not try in the playoffs. Blowing huge leads time after time even for "poor" teams. Starting more games slower than last 3 seasons put together. Indifference. Piss-poor refereeing; Most refs think that if they are seen giving GSW fouls it will appear they are favoring them so they start calling absolute nonsense. Good thing is, this moment always comes up once in a while in each season to jolt the team back into reality. We had that moment during the KD injury last year and even lost first seed at a point. Got blown out first game against Spurs and was 1-2 against them leading to the playoffs. Got beat by the Cavs in Dec and the talk was how the Cavs "owned their soul". I have seen a lot of reactionary nonsense over the course of 4 seasons to appreciate bad moments. Only that I get let down by "4 HOFers jibe" all over the air waves when the main NBA starts and then I have to go about reminding people about all they said moments prior. |
Decale:What do I know? Maybe Curry too should not have been a starter in the AllStars considering West Brook outplayed him yesterday. This is the stuff that future GMs are made of. ![]() |
raumdeuter:I am retracting my statement that he lost it in his half. ![]() Everyone knows it was his fault ![]() |
diggz: airmark:Oh well. All the replays don't show where he lost it from so I could not recheck. But if he did not lose it in his own half I retract my statement. |
Lannister20:I see it. You made none. |
diggz:Everyone else is culpable but the blame starts from Hazard. Besides, I think he was in his own half not Watford's. |
Lannister20:What you did now is called fallacy of ellipsis. You purposely misquoted me to perpetuate your narrative. Not the first time it will happen here though. Keywords: I come where? HERE (united thread) When? Once in a while. Why? If Pep is insulted (lies told etc) and I am in the mood. |
diggz:Fab had a yellow already. Taking one for the team would have been a red card and everyone here will blame him. Hazard was instrumental for the equalizer but that goal was his fault. IMHO. |
randomperson:Of course bro. Of course. |
Lannister20:Well. Someone with sense did not see that the emphasis was on "coming to the united thread". |
MoR2:I have no business with United. I only come here once in a while if Pep is insulted and I am in the mood. I don't even troll their players of which I am on record (this season) saying Pogba and KDB are on par ability wise. This senseless pandering you are doing to curry favours and save face will only impress other half-truthers and liars I exposed here. You are disingenuously trying to discriminate between seasons and years as if those latter 3 trophies that make up for a sextuple are not available between (Aug-Dec) of the season ending year and to only teams that may have won certain other trophies leading to that. So even if Enrique was here till 2017 Dec, he would have only been able to play that Spanish Super Cup final (which he would still have lost to RM after all he lost to Bilbao last season). That still means he would have had 7 trophies in 3 years to Pep's 13. You say I resort to insults but that is only because you recently started reading me. I will never be the first to do that and traditionally would ignore such until I realized people on here do it because they think you can't dish it out the same way. The pride and arrogance you talk about is the usual cop-out of people who cannot back up their statements or accept glaring goofs. You are Primus inter pares in that regard. Now who is trying to confuse people? You who knows that World Club Cup, Uefa Super Cup can only be won by the team that won the UCL (RM) yet you are making the discourse about pedantic counting of days and weeks just to keep finding a way out for your feeble argument or me who exposed you? Your guess is almost as good as mine. |
MoR2:So when they said Pep won a sextuple how was he able to do it since the World Club cup, Uefa Super Cup and Spanish Cup are played the "following" season? My problem with you is even when you goof you will still be forming correct. It is absurd. The other dingbat realized his own and faced another side. You will keep trudging on. |
eph12:You can do better than this. When Pep declared he would not extend his contract he recommended that Túchel be one of those considered for the job. He was considered but Bayern opted for the more experienced Carlo. Later Dortmund took him. After Bayern and Carlo parted ways Bayern began reconsidering Túchel again and Thomas because of Pep's recommendation. Then Uli met with Pep and they discussed and decided to get Jupp back to steady the ship. Pep was satisfied with their choice. Take note of time and key words: like previously and considered. If Jupp refuses to stay after this season don't be surprised if Túchel is hired. Bayern are currently trying to lure Jupp to stay. Did you ever read that Roman consulted Mou on his replacement ?
