Mehn, I blame Kawhi and IT for making this MVP a two man race...

Everybody knew this was Kawhi's year. Spurs probably would be 1st in standings and that guy would lead the MVP race or be tied at 1, whichever.

And IT for letting Bron have historic numbers. An old Bron with an improved jumper is gold. Even Love's 100% post op is back. Wade sef don dey play like that Wade we sabi. He's the 6th man of the Year currently. The Cavs are the 2nd deadliest team in the NBA RIGHT NOW (behind Rockets); not Warriors or Celtics.

Abeg it's late for Kawhi but IT should do and come back, reduce Bron's numbers and consequently blow this MVP race open. Make next week reach abeg...

P.S: If we're talking about the word, MVP in the definitive form with the impact and numbers this season, it's Curry. Too bad there are other players putting up "spotlight" stats
While I agree Kawhi would have been up there, I disagree that he would have outperformed James Harden. James has been making a case since 2014/15 it just makes sense his team is blowing teams off the park - and he is a major contributor to that fact.

It is true that Lebron's numbers are crazy this year because the work load is much. But he needs it to be, as he is a major reason his roster is the way it is. GM and owner have given him what he wants, so he needs to see their project show some promise.

Will ITs presence reduce Bron's number? It is supposed to, but then everyone said so when the trades were being made - including after Kyrie left. The consensus was, that he was on his way out to LA and would only push himself in the playoffs. Time has proven that fractionally untrue.

Are the Cavs the second deadliest team in the world right now? Highly contested considering the teams they are beating are being pummeled by others as well. Pistons, Hawks, Bulls are ninnies no offense to them. Philly just lost a home game to Phoenix. Wizards got blitzed by Denver Nuggets. These teams are playing Cavs at opposite sides of the form sheet. I can't make a case for them.

I definitely agree that Rockets are the deadliest team though. But then, they are using little rotations and playing their star players to a halt. The regular season is a marathon.

Fun fact; number of games with 130 points and above this season? Nearest contenders Rockets have (2). Rest of NBA together ( I think 2 too - need to check) GSW have (5). And this is supposed to be a bad season.

P.G also didnt get calls against spurs....so each team must have had bad ref calls against each other, thats why i dont cry out for calls..

As for that OKC vs Warriors match, bad or good calls...OKC would have still won..The refs were not responsible for the warriors turnovers and bad defence.
During the Spurs vs OKC game I came here to say bad calls went both ways. That was the difference; they were bad calls on your end and bad on theirs as well. For P.Gs foul that was not called, what about Bryn Forbes drive to the basket when the scoreline was 3 in favor of yall? Popp came out to yell at the ref and the OKC commentators paused to swallow saliva because of how glaring the foul was but then concluded that both teams had suffered bad calls in the game.

In the OKC vs GSW game, all the bad calls were on GSWs end. This is not even refutable -Stephen A Smith - a KD hater and OKC sympathiser said so.

I have never disagreed that OKC were good for their win. The evidence shows they most likely would have won. But the evidence also shows that GSW were not allowed to play through the bad calls.

If I force a stop from you and the refs call blocking foul and return the ball to you, it will still be recorded as a turn over. That is why counting 22 TOs or saying another team did not play good defence is a one-way traffic argument.

Pelicans, Philly are 2 teams in recent weeks that deserved to win based on first half display. Both even led GSW by half time more than OKC did. The difference? Bad calls went in both directions and GSW recovered 3Q to win both games.

Like I said back then, OKC were playing so well that it baffled me why the refs were hellbent on helping them. You don't need to agree but atleast I am sure you have seen other non-warriors on this thread say so.

Aliondo, hope you can see why we were suspicious of the NBA refereeing when we played y'all even when we took nothing from your team? It is because against us, really, no lead is safe.

I did not see the game but when I woke to see talk of Curry and his ankle, boy, I could not go back to sleep.

I am happy the X-ray showed there is no break. This guy needs to rest for the next few weeks till January. I don't mind if we play Cavs in Dec without him.

KD, Klay and Draymond need to handle business. Especially Shaun L because I am not really comfy with KD being the floor General. He gets some unnecessary TOs sometimes.

Everybody playing the game of their lives when they play us.

Get well SC.

This is not an impressive win at all

No LMA, Gay, Parker, Ginobili and Leonard. Those are the best 5 spurs players but you only win by 3. Even Lakers will do better...
You are so money!!!!

I kept looking at the Spurs line-up saying "How is this game even close?". At a point, Spurs had no center and kept it close till the last 32 secs. In fact, they could have tied the game with a 3 after forcing a TO out of OKC in the last 13 secs.

I hope OKC come good later because they are unconvincing. Especially if they need Adams to play like mini Zeus to beat a totally undermanned and preseason Spurs.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 3:34am On Dec 04, 2017
Westbrook's not averaging a triple double and Adams becomes a star Centre again. Imagine my surprise.

Bad calls on both sides but a close game.

OKC almost choking another one. God saved them.

I feel bad for James Harden, Lebron isn't messing around this season - his 5th MVP season no doubt.

In other news, the Cavs just extended their win streak to 11, just thought y'all should know in case you're yet to get the memo grin
I would eat my hand if Lebron wins it.

At this rate, James Harden needs to die to not win it. And even if he does (die) it would be given to him post-humously.

Lebron will need to win 70+ games and average 30+ ppg to win another MVP title.

Voter fatigue has set-in for him.

LOL. I know this.

I should have written his initials. I was referring to Jonathan Simmons of Orlando Magic. That former SAS player. Dude was getting calls yesterday. Some of which were deserved, but not Curry and at a point KD got the same treatment.

Anything short of 67 wins will pain me walahi but I am more focused on the playoffs. My star players don't seem to care so much about the regular season this time around.

I knew the moniker because someone on the rap thread did a eulogy about him when he passed. I was not viewing that thread in real time but I did a little research and realized his killer was eventually apprehended.

The sad part; he was killed by his neighbour who lived 2 blocks away and tried to rob him.

It was tragic considering it was not gang-related or any of those things, to add to the fact that he seemed to be well-known and loved on here.

I hope his family have weathered the storm. The one's who have left us feel nothing.

All the same, I declare a mystery: we shall not all sleep...

10 wins for The Cavs. I am now worried that they have a winning team but also satisfied that Bron will burn-out before June.

It was his fault that whenever he goes on the bench,we drop points and tend to lose more?

It was his fault too that oladipo was brickering in the playoffs when we needed him to shoot in crucial periods?

McDermott has changed team now...what is he shooting atm??
This argument will get cyclical. Kobe and even Curry say the best way to get out of a shooting slump, is to shoot more. That is what decent shooters like V Oladipo and McDermott needed.

How good a shooter is Omri Casspi? But how has he been shooting 3pts this season? Good. That is because he does not get plays enabling him shoot 3s repeatedly like he did in Sacramento. It is science.

Your point that whenever he went to the bench the team dropped points is sequitur but cliché; When a ball dominant guard goes off, the team will have it hard readjusting. If they do it long enough and make him less dominant they will flourish. Kyrie is flourishing without Lebron pounding the ball all game.

Nobody is arguing that he was your best player but the strength of his game and mentality will make other stars flail around him whereas where other stars can customize their games to accomodate others - Russell can't. Melo and PG are testaments to that fact and he is single handedly the reason Kanter and Adams looked below par.

Billy D might not be Pop, but he beat Pop with a roster many did not think was possible and he was within a game vs GSW. The difference between him then and now is, he is now reliant on a player who is mentally fvcked up but he does not realize it.

Again, this is not a knock on Russell's talent or skill. But mentally, Russell is a basketball midget who seems more interested in personal stats than team success.

Harden was my MVP last season, and hopefully this season he would win it finishing as second seeds to my GSW grin AMEN.

So when the big men fail to get their layups and post ups,the team should be waiting for them till they get it. I was referring to last season about no one stepping up.

Never at fault?who gets the blame most when we are losing?

For now,the team generally is in crisis..thats all i can say
Rhythm. I said so. When he is pushing them off the ball to count rebounds and pounding the ball till 3 secs left, even McDermott, Sabonis, V Oladipo started shooting rubbish.

Truth be told...Kanter and Adams lost form last season..Adams just rejuvenated back this season..

Westbrook has his faults which i criticise a lot but he can't be blamed for everything.

When no member of the team is ready to take the bull by the horn, someone has to step up and stepping up may be negative or positive.
Big men get into a rhythm by getting rebounds and posting up. When they stop touching the ball and getting into their rhythm it tells on the offensive and eventually overall. These same arguments I made then.

When no member bla bla...so PG and Melo are also not taking the Bull by its horn now? Like I said, anyone can make excuses for Brodie. From he had scrubs to we can't blame him for everything. He is never at fault. But when he gets it right, it was all him.

Tualé.

I remember when I was saying all these things last season. People were telling me that if he did not average triple doubles his team would not win. Back then Kanter and Adams became scrubs.

Funny enough, he added 2 all stars and their win % is worse now than at this same time last season. But...But WestBrook was playing with scrubs then.

Good times.

We took care of business vs Demarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis Tony Allen and Rondo without KD. We played great defense and Curry balled out. This man always goes all out when KD isn't playing, still does a great job with KD, Hardly plays the last quarter and is still underrated. SMH
That is why, in my own little way, I would defend him as much as possible.

I remember telling someone last year that Curry was only deferring to KD and would easily take the mantle of the team like 15/16 without KD. They were telling me that Eric Gordon was outdoing Curry at the only thing Curry is good at.

This is why I am careful these days with who I engage. LeShannon Sharpe even said we would have been swept last playoffs against Cavs without KD and I thought "someone pays this guy to analyze basketball games"?

Anyways, still we coast. Saving energy till the playoffs. Anthony Davis is something though. He gets his buckets against us at will.

This isn't an insult however, If you were a lady, I'd understand why you're quick to call a question an insult or ignoring statements that acknowledged OKC deserving the win and coming up with "So the refs gave us a win?" conclusion. After a solid video and other witnesses, you still failed to agree that the refs made some horrible calls. I understand you claim to care less about the refs so why even argue since you usually don't pay attention? If insult you, No vex abeg. smiley
I just told myself not to bother again.

Even after showing that my argument was stemming from other games leading to the OKC one.

Even aftet stating copiously that OKC would have won regardless (which is why they did not need the help the refs were clearly giving).

Someone will strain all the important stuff and settle for asinine questions.

1 win in the last 8 games. Beat them 3 times with KD being there and 4 times last season. Someone should give me a break abeg. Why should losing to a sub 500 team pain me?

How many times will Warriors force a turnover off OKC and refs will blow foul. Stopping the game, giving OKC back the ball and stifling us - when everyone knows we thrive on making stops in a come back.

How many times will they call blocking foul on us and then at the other end call the same move an offensive foul against us.

People say OKC played great defense and I said yea. But why did the refs not allow us play our own great defence?

I tell you why they did that, and also why that other guy keeps asking those dumb questions. They did not want what happened against Sixers to repeat itself (not even remotely saying we would have come back) but the refs were making sure that never happened.

They should enjoy their W. We would play them more than once over the regular season. Let us see how many times we would turn the ball over 22 times.

What is your fascination with this question?

OKC will not be the last team to beat GSW this season. How you choose to interpret the win by your team is your prerogative but you need to accept that the game was poorly ref'd.

Draymond cleanly swiped the ball off Carmelo's hands. There were some funny +1s Russell was getting that were just unnecessary.

All these things add up to bad refereeing if only one team (the home team) seems to be benefitting from it. Does not take anything away from the way your team played.

Cavs shot lights out in game 5 of the 2017 finals, I came here to say it, but I still did not deter from pointing out that the game was crazily officiated.

The facts are the facts my man. Stephen A Smith was right on this one.

Nope. He had 28 in game 1 and 32 in game 2. I'm talking about the 2017 finals here.
I was referring to 2016.

In 2017? What FTs? Curry was shooting lights out in game 2. He had 4 3s and was driving to the rim a lot. Even at that, he had early FTs I think 4 or so but the GSW only led by 3 by half time.

It was the 3rd quarter rout that put them out of sight.

No conspiracies.

14 points.

The foul calls and the no calls. How many FTs did curry shoot in game 2?
Lol.

Curry had 15 and 18 points in games 1 and 2. I think he did not even play the fourth quarter. Draymond was the player of the day with 28. Curry even had foul trouble in game 2.

FTs? Why do you think people say he is the most disrespected superstar? He barely gets FTs. That is the only thing I usually say in his and Bron's defence. They get fouled a lot but barely get FTs for it. Compared to Harden and Brodie.
